Bart D. Ehrman is a religious studies scholar and author. He is a professor emeritus at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has written extensively on the history of Christianity and biblical criticism. Ehrman has also been a vocal critic of religious fundamentalism and has been a prominent voice in the debate over the historicity of Jesus. He is based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
