Aura Mercado is a Dominican-Uruguayan social worker and community organizer. She is the founder of the Asociación de Dominicanos Juana Saltitopa, a non-profit organization that aims to promote the rights and interests of Dominican immigrants in Uruguay. Mercado has also been involved in various initiatives to promote social and cultural exchange between Uruguay and other countries.
