She was elected as the party's leader in February 2020, becoming the first Black woman to lead a major Canadian party. Paul has a background in law and has worked as a lawyer and a policy advisor. She has been a vocal advocate for environmental issues and social justice. Paul is based in Ottawa, Canada.
