Andries Potgieter

Voortrekker leader

Andries Potgieter was a Voortrekker leader who led the expedition that defeated Kaliphi's amaNdebele at the Battle of Vegkop. He was a skilled military leader and strategist who was known for his bravery and tactical genius. Potgieter was also a key figure in the Voortrekker War and is remembered as a hero of the conflict. He is still celebrated in South African history today.
