Ahmed Fouad Negm

Egyptian poet, novelist, and politician. Born in 1930 in Cairo, Egypt. He is known for his role in the Arab Spring movement and his work as a writer and politician. He was imprisoned for his writings and activities. Fouad Negm is considered one of the most prominent figures of the Egyptian literary movement of the 1960s and 1970s. He was awarded the Neustadt International Prize for Literature in 2006.
