Adam Kay is a British author, journalist, and former doctor. He is best known for his memoir This is Going to Hurt, which won the Book of the Year prize at the National Book Awards. Kay studied medicine at Imperial College London and worked as a junior doctor before leaving the profession. He has written for various publications and has been featured in several media outlets.
