Abba Kovner (1917-1981) was a Polish-born Israeli writer, historian, and activist. He is best known for his memoirs about the Warsaw Ghetto uprising during World War II. Kovner was a key figure in the Jewish underground movement during the war and later became a prominent voice in the Israeli government.
