Morning Majlis — Zakat Campaign Continues For Entire 2026 (30/03/26). Machine-transcribed; use the interactive transcript above to jump the player to any line.
This is Pulse 95. You're listening to the Morning Magilist podcast. Join the conversation with the Morning Magilist, Pulse 95. Talking about extending generosity even farther than during the Ramadan, extending it all throughout the whole year because the friends of cancer patients, or the FOCP, they've just announced that they're extending their 2026 Zakat campaign called Family of Giving right through at the end of the year. That makes a lot of sense because cancer treatment, unfortunately, does not work on a seasonal calendar. It doesn't pause after Ramadan, it doesn't become cheaper in Chawal, and it certainly does not become emotionally easier for the families involved. So this is really about keeping that support going long after the initial fundraising to push fades from the headlines. So the impact is real because already the campaign has made a very real difference.
FOCP says that it has already helped 10 cancer patients continue like saving treatment. And on paper, 10 might sound like a small number in a world full of giant statistics, but when you break it down, that's 10 people, 10 families, 10 households trying to hold themselves together so dealing with one of the most frightening and exhausting things a family can go through. You're talking about those giant statistics, especially when you look at the digital side of things. Apparently, they did record 1.3 million in a reach as well as 3.7 million impressions and half a million engagements all happening during the Holy month of Ramadan. So this just shows the effectiveness of its awareness of messaging, when it comes to mobilizing community participation, and even directing support to patients in need of treatment. The traction on yellow give actually registered 120% of an increase in total donations as well. So on all of those fronts, those giant statistics that I just brought you there,
you can understand why they want to continue it to 2026. Those good deeds, those practices, those norms that we should be instilling in ourselves, don't just celebrate them in the Holy month. Let's continue them for the remainder of the year, which is exactly what they are doing. Now, if you're wondering to yourself, okay, wow, I want to be part of this. I might have missed out in the Holy month of Ramadan now. I know that it's here to stay. How do I actually take part? Well, the Zakat contributions can be made directly through their website, the FOCP website, and donations can also be submitted via fundraising campaigns on yellow give, where individuals and organizations can contribute or even launch sub-campaigns in support of the FOCP. Donations are also accepted via bank transfer to FOCP's account at Chargeslamic Bank. The account number is 0011364-854-002. With international transfers as well, you'll have to find out the IBA and number the IBA number,
of course, but it doesn't end there. If you like me and you'd just like a seamless SMS, then FOCP does offer the SMS donation service all through E and, and donors can actually send a word, which is Zakat, so that's Z-A-K-A-T, to the number 644-7, and that donates 20 dirams, to the number 442-6, that donates 50 dirams. However, if you really want to stretch it out, 446-7, and that donates 200 dirams, and then even further, 2308 is the number that you would text Zakat to to donate 500 dirams. So it's super easy. If you're listening to us in the car, if you're parking, if you're walking around, and you think, I want to make a difference here. Text those numbers wherever you can afford. Of course, it's okay. And text Zakat to those numbers, and don't miss out on being part of this movement for the whole of 2026. Yes, absolutely. It makes a big difference.
They're really extending this, so you can actually, if you didn't get a chance to do it during Ramadan, you can do so all throughout the year. If it's not possible for you to do it this month, you can do it the month after. We still have almost eight months left of the year. So yeah, you can choose any of those months, or maybe every single month, you can contribute something very, very small. So it really goes a long way. So yeah, families facing cancer support cannot be seasonal. Thankfully, neither is compassion. And this is just the clear message from this. Yeah, incredible work. What the FOCP do during Ramadan and now beyond. This is Pulse 95. Tune in live every weekday from 7 a.m.
