You are met as smart glasses when they're recording are not private. I'm Nick Espanoza, your chief security fanatic, and I can't believe I still have to make videos like this in 2026. Now, here's what's going on, and this is actually really interesting because an investigation by Swedish outlets, Svenska, Deb let it, and I apologize to my Swedish listeners, and Goatsborg Postin. And again, I apologize to my Swedish listeners. Anywho, these two outlets found that offshore meta-workers in Kenya were asked to analyze intimate and even disturbing videos taken by glasses wares. Now, this data includes videos taken in the bathroom, footage featuring nudity and sexual content, and images showing personal information like bank accounts. It's part of a process known as data labeling used to train artificial intelligence models with footage first reviewed and annotated by humans so that the artificial intelligence can understand what it's quote unquote looking at. Now, workers basically told the publication
that many of the videos appear to be moments captured when users weren't aware that they were being recorded. Now, this particular group of workers in Kenya works under SAMA. This is the same meta-contractor for the record facing a class action lawsuit. On behalf of content moderators, who alleged that they have been exploited and forced to review traumatic content without proper working conditions. This is something that meta has been known for for absolutely years all across the world because when you flag something that might be violent or deeply inappropriate or something along those lines, some human at some point has to essentially look at this. They've tried leveraging artificial intelligence. There have been a lot of false positives, you know, as a result of that. And so meta still engages humans at quite a large scale for content moderation. Now, for the record, meta's terms of services reserves the right to send users interactions with its AI services, including it's always on live AI features to human moderators. The company referred basically everybody that inquired about this to their terms of services
policies. So this is a continuous issue that we see. In this day and age, there are people that still will adopt these things and maybe the name of convenience over privacy. Not realizing that, you know, if you are doing intimate things, whatever that means to you that other people can see this, they can view this, they can access this. You have to assume you have no privacy when it comes to a meta meta, meta anything to be perfectly honest, whether it's their glasses, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, even. It's not truly end to end. I've done tons of segments on that. So just a heads up to everybody that's out there that is using these meta glasses. One, don't support a company that has been complicit in war crimes and genocide. I kid you not go see my other segments, including the one entitled, it's time to put Mark Zuckerberg in jail. And if you are going to be basically using this type of equipment, one, please let everybody know, don't record people when they don't give you their consent or they don't know that they're being recorded. That's just not cool. And also, read the terms of services. Read the privacy policies. Make sure
that the data that you are generating stays within your ecosystem. That's why you will never see me wearing these glasses in that vein. And for whatever reason, if I'm demoing them, I sure is heck would tell people if it was on and it was recording because that's quite frankly not cool. So don't be essentially what we learn the term is in with Google Glass. Don't be a glass hole. And I'll leave it at that. And please like share a follow me here on Facebook and Twitter and Nick AESP where you will be data mind, especially on Facebook. Also Twitter too, no slouch there. Same with YouTube where you should subscribe, nevertheless. And as always, stay safe, stay online. And please, please, please attempt to say private, secure, online and away from meta products. Take care.
