00Instagram doesn't care about your privacy. Shocker. I'm Nick Espinoza, your chief security fanatic, and let's dive in. Now, if you didn't know, and this is brand new news, Instagram is about to turn data mining up even more than they're doing it now. And if you're a long-time listener or follower of mine, you know I have done segments called It's Time to Put Mark Zuckerberg in jail. And I've just railed about the privacy violations that meta properties have Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, et cetera, they lie through their teeth, including in front of Congress. And like again, I've done segment after segment after segment of that. My opinion is based on a lot of evidence, in fact, but this is from Instagram directly from their actual blog post on their own website. And I quote, end-to-end encrypted messaging on Instagram will no longer be supported after May 8, 2026. If you have chats that are impacted by this change, you will see instructions on how you can download

00any media or messages you may want to keep. If you're on an older version of Instagram, you may also need to update the app before you can download your affected chats and quote. And so, yeah, I mean, they explain it in their blog post as I'm about to show you here, but this is absolutely ridiculous. It's absolutely insane. And I quote, once again, Facebook, because they just keep lying, in my opinion, and I quote, end-to-end encrypted messages and calls ensure only you and the people you're communicating with can see or listen to what is sent and no one else, not even Meta can do so. End quote. Well, we've proven that wrong with WhatsApp, which they keep hammering over and over and pounding in to us that it is end-to-end encrypted when they were literally caught integrating artificial intelligence into WhatsApp that could essentially read and understand the messages, which means it's not true end-to-end encrypted. And I don't think Instagram was ever end-to-end encrypted

01as well, because Meta has always wanted to data mine the ever-living, but Jesus out of us, because that is literally how they make money. But I continue and to quote them again, from the same blog post. Keep in mind, for reporting an optional features, you or someone in the chat may still choose to share messages with Meta, end quote. So the point is, is that they're just telling you that they can do this. Now, outside of this, they were also claiming that basically few people were enabling end-to-end messages, end-to-end encrypted messages, and even though it's not end-to-end encrypted, just like Facebook Messenger, and WhatsApp, and all of that again, I've done segment after segment after segment on this. Why not just make it default, Meta? Why not just turn it on and force everybody to be end-to-end encrypted, truly end-to-end encrypted? We know why you don't. And so between just the absolute lies, the data mining, the complicitness, or complicity, or whatever, in things like genocides,

02war crimes, everything else, and now Instagram, I just found out, and I'm starting to see ads on it, and on Facebook, Instagram is creating Instagram for teens. They know that they are just harming the planet, and now they're going after the younger generation. They whistleblower, after whistleblower, it's just horrendous. I cannot believe this company, but they are killing any modicum of privacy that you would have whatsoever on their platforms, and we cannot expect to have any privacy, but if they're claiming it, that they've been doing it, and now they're removing it, it's just one more shot across the bow. Why is anybody using these stupid platforms? And that also goes for the record for TikTok, in all of the others. I don't put anything personal on any of these, and you might be watching this, or listening to this on Facebook, which is the only platform I use from that. I did have a threads account for a while. I've never had Instagram, but this is just ridiculous. So here we are. I don't know why anybody's using these.

03I just can't fathom that, like I said. And for the record, if you're a parent, and you have a teen, especially a teen girl, that wants to get an Instagram for the love of God, actually parent them and say no. It's for their own good. It's for their own mental health. Go read anything by Jean Twingy or Jonathan Hate, and the longitudinal studies about the absolute damage this platform specifically Instagram has done. So absolutely insane. That is your news of the day, but screw them. Screw Mark Zuckerberg, and quite frankly, I'm just sick of them all. They should be shut down and thrown in jail.
