2:07Obviously, the run rule on a Friday and then win 6.0 and then eight to one in the double header yesterday, Darryl, and like the pitching showed out, the hitting showed out just the complete, complete sweep and every facet of every game. Yeah. You know, I know, first of all, I'm excited to be here talking baseball, love baseball. So this is a lot of fun. And I tell you, I don't care what level of baseball you're playing. Yeah. Give up one run over three games. I don't care if it's non-con or not is impressive. Think about some of the non-conference games that people like LSU and other teams are losing to these mid majors and Auburn comes out, plays Winthrup, takes care of business. And not only wins, one run in three games is impressive. And then the law firm of Freilich, McCrain and McCrain getting it done, hitting, you know, they just carried Auburn offensively.

3:09Yeah. You know, Bob Terrell hitting the ball the way he's supposed to hit, I mean, look, we talked about this. They're doing this without Rember, so I think it's going to get going. Once he gets going, I think Lucas Steele, who catches Petrovic, he's his normal catcher. He's a better hitter than he's shown, but you've got to give, I know you guys did a recap already on Friday. I'm not going to focus on that. But Jackson Sanders just dealing earlier yesterday and then Petrovic, bad luck for him. He was dealing the weather comes in, Chatterton comes in, Petrovic can't get the W, but he was pitching really, really well too. So all in all, you get everything you want out of this weekend and you can look at some things going forward that you think some bats will wake up that gives you even more hope for optimism. Yeah. I've become a Christian Chatterton truther. It seems like whenever you need him and he kind of gets, seem like he's not always been put in super great situations. He makes the most of every outing that he has.

4:09It seems like he's always just kind of nails when he needs to be. You could ask any pitching coach, you can ask Auburn's pitching coach, any pitching coach at any level, even at the major league level, the hardest thing to do when you're a pitcher is to be that guy that comes out after a rain delay and starts the game back up. Exactly. It's different physically. You can be up in the bullpen, Zach, and you can be throwing, but you can't be throwing when it's lightning and thunder and you can't. Right. So you come off like you're starting, but you're mentally not prepared to start. It's the toughest thing to do in baseball. I used to think the middle innings reliever was tough because you're not starting and you're not closing and you're kind of a tweener. This is more, this is more difficult. And he has, he took the ball, accepted that role and did a really nice job. And I'm really getting optimistic about this pitching because I think the bats will be there. And I just know that they will. And I think this team's got enough offense.

5:11I'd like to see Clay get going a little bit. You know, I want to, he was a little bit better in game one. He had a couple of hits, but I'd like to see him get going his bat. They brought him over here. They can he'd contribute more offensively. He's a bad start to the season. It has. It's so his blue. I mean, you know, he's, he's not hitting the ball like he's capable of doing it. And I think he'll, they worked on some things. I heard during the broadcast today, because I haven't trouble with my stream. And so I got the opportunity to listen to Brad and do, and they're working on him with blue on his timing mechanism. They feel like he's got to lift his leg faster, get some, some trigger, and they think he's capable of hitting because he's good defensively. So, you know, you got some guys you're going to need them and the SEC stretch, some guys to come off the bench. But I really like this team, I like the makeup of this team, and pitching is coming around. I tell you what, I mean, going back to Chris Rimbert, I know you mentioned that his bat

6:14hasn't really been there, but he has been there as far as in the lineup. And Lindsay and I talked about this in the Friday reaction show. We both agreed that we didn't expect Rimbert to be, you know, in the lineup for, for both games. And he seems healthy. He's a barrel, which going into the early diagnosis was, okay, hopefully you get him back SEC play, which is next weekend. But I think he's good to go. They wouldn't have played him as much on Saturday if he wasn't 100%. And there was a scare where he had an ankle, something happened with his ankle. It was game one, I think. And he came right back and made a really nice play where he charged the ball throughout the run at first. Look, it was up to rel had something like that today too. Yeah, to me, and maybe that's who it was and not, because again, I was listening, not watching. Thank you, ESPN plus. I think the move by the, of moving Guevara back to third to, and McCrain, it shorts up

7:16to good move. Yeah. Listen, there's a lot of guys that have played that hot corner for Auburn over the years. He can absolutely pick it over there. And don't underestimate what he does for a pitching staff. And how he helps the team, ERA, and how he helps guys, you know, like Jackson Sanders got to go that extra inning. Everyone thought he was done. He went that extra inning. The bullpen was so fresh today that it was unbelievable with these starters have done. But Guevara third is, is elite as a defender. And that helps with the pitching staff that helps McCrain at shortstop. He can shade a little bit towards the bag at second. There's just a lot of attributes of this team. It fits like there's pieces that seem to be fitting with Rembert coming back and keeping him healthy. Again, they're trending. Don't ever, ever underestimate people want to say, well, this wasn't a midweek game. This was a three game series. Yeah, but you could have easily dropped a game in this like you did in Nebraska.

8:17It's hard to win in college baseball, especially when teams come all the way down south against a big SEC school and save their pitching. You know, the kid that was pitching for Samford, you know, hit 99 on the gun at Samford. The person working the gun was told, shut it off. We don't want to know any throws 99. And guess who they throw against us, that kid, of course, I got bad intel on that. And I'll take that person on who told it to me. But anyway, who they were pitching. You should do that personally. Yeah, did I find out after the fact he is 99 in a game and they tell him, shut the gun off. We don't want, we don't want to get in his head. No, he's throwing out. I thought when we were sitting over there, Zach watching the game, but it, I could hear the glove popping. It was getting there. Yeah. Yeah. We'll have a next family outing. There'll be a definite heart to heart conversation. Yeah. But there should be. Yeah. But personally. But yeah. So what's up with that? I mean, yeah.

9:17I've adjusted the wheel already. I've called. I think it, but yeah, I don't ever, I don't ever apologize for a hundred estimate winning at any level over three game weekend like that because it's, it's not easy to do. So looking ahead, I mean, this is an important week. This is an important week for, for several reasons. And the biggest is, okay, SEC play starts this upcoming weekend. And now they improve to what are they 13 and two overall they take on you a B that games at home six o'clock first pitch Tuesday night. Total trap game. Be careful with that one. Or short because you know you a B and you're going to throw their ace and Auburn's looking ahead to conference play. So you got to be in jack state every three years they get one. Yeah, they do. Especially in Birmingham, we struggle in Birmingham at rehabs wherever we play them there. Yeah. So obviously, you know, I think you need a pretty good out outing from Alvarez. You want to preserve as many pitchers as you possibly can pitch really well last time out. Yeah. Yep. He did. He did. But then obviously going to Missouri, you know, going into the season, we're all okay,

13:23good. Missouri is the one you want to open up with because they're we're assuming one of the worst teams in the SEC, but interesting. As we're recording this, they're sitting at 12 and two and it's like, oh, should we start to believe in Missouri, but let me read you who they've played. So they lose their opener to Mount St. Mary's and then they win the following two, including one, 34 to three as what this says, which is unbelievable. They lose the Florida Atlantic, but then they sweep new Haven and they beat Arkansas Pinebluff and they beat North Dakota State and they beat you. I see. Terrible. That is an absolute embarrassment of a non-conferred schedule and to lose to Mount St. Mary's. I mean, and I mean, Florida International is pretty good baseball school, but Mount St. Mary's. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They bounced back in the 30, 40, three. They should. Yeah. They're embarrassed. Yeah. That's a, that's indicative of a schedule propping you up and Auburn should have every,

14:32not only goal, but there should be every indication that they go in there and take at least two or three. Yeah. And then there are twos as against Southern Indiana. So I mean, they have not. Another powerhouse. Yeah. So actually Indiana. Right. And they're all cold weather. I mean, New Haven, Connecticut. I didn't think they started. It used to be schools like that. It started their seasons till the end of February early March because of the weather. So yeah, that's, that's deceiving. That's a little misleading. I mean, just from a standing standpoint, like you need, you need at least two this weekend. You could sweet, but yeah, I get to, but the way this pitching is, I mean, man, you're throwing Patrick on Sunday, are you kidding me? I mean, let's go. Yeah. I mean, it's about to heat up though after that, right? Like you, well, the Georgia Tech game, I'm going to that game that Tuesday night, St. Patrick's day. That's going to be a, that's a great rivalry, good game or the tech next Tuesday. Yeah. Tuesday or Wednesday. Tuesday. And then you, you host Texas. Yeah.

15:32That's a big week of, of baseball. We will probably rank, be like, not in the top three, right? Yeah. Yeah. And I think Georgia Tech, I thought came in ranked, it's just beginning of this year, but I think they lost a couple of those midweek games, but they're so good, I mean, it's going to get real. Real, real quick. So get as many wins as you can right now, especially against the team like Missouri, where, I mean, I'm not going to predict, you know, too many sweeps in the SEC, but this certainly needs to be one of them.
