Xyza Cruz Bacani on her inspiring journey

About this episode

“We have to communicate better sa mga mahal natin sa buhay na nagtatrabaho abroad,” says Xyza Cruz Bacani, who joined her mother as a domestic helper in Hong Kong when she was 19.

In the last eight years, Xyza has evolved from being a DH to a documentary photographer known around the world. In May 2022, she graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with a master’s degree in arts and politics.

Join us as she shares her story from being a mere observer on the street to historic figure in the world of migrant workers. Tune in to this conversation recorded on May 26, 2022.
