Wythenshawe Food Hall Time Capsule Buried

0:00On March 26, construction on a new food hall and withenshot town center is ready to start right after the old peacock's building was torn down. Local schoolchildren join city leaders this week to bury a time capsule, kicking off the project with a fun community event. The capsule, filled with kids' drawings, future ideas for the town and personal letters, will stay sealed until after 2050. Students from Hoverly Hay Community School in St. Anthony's Catholic Primary School imagined what life there might look like in 25 years. This food hall at the top of the hurdles will draw in independent food sellers and local vendors, creating a spot for neighbors to gather, eat, and relax. Officials see it as a key way to build pride in the high street. It's all part of a 500 million pound push to revamp the area, backed by 20 million pounds from the UK government and nearly 12 million from the council. A new culture hub is already under construction with open spaces getting upgrades too.
