About this episode
On this special episode of WiSP Sports, Chris Stafford and Nancy Gillen get back together to preview the FIFA 2023 Women’s Football World Cup, which starts on July 20 and runs through to the final on August 20. Australia and New Zealand are co-hosting the tournament with 32 teams in contention across eight groups. Nancy will be heading Down Under to cover the games in Australia, which starts in Sydney and we will get together again after the tournament for a full review and to hear first hand how the games played out as she covers her first World Cup. With several teams who could make it through to the final stages it will undoubtably be a tightly fought World Cup and with the US defending their title the stakes are high. Tune in to hear how Chris and Nancy think this will play out, the teams to watch and several players who will no doubt be game changers. Could Australia win their first World Cup title on home soil or will England’s Lionesses remind football fans why they are European Champions under the exemplary leadership of Sarina Wiegman.
