This is the what are we doing Philly's post game show world baseball classic edition. Here's your host Kevin Flannery. You get a walk. You get a walk. You get a walk. You get a walk. Everybody walks. Everybody walks. That took so long to be finished. That game should have been over at least an hour ago. At least an hour ago. That game should have finished at least an hour ago. That took such a long time. Yes, the USA won 15 to 5. But the thing with the world baseball classic is their mercy rules. So if you get to a certain amount of runs, you don't have to play the rest of the game.
So it's 15 runs after 10 runs after 5 innings or 15 after 5 and 10 after 7. So if you have a 15 run lead after 5 innings, then the game is over. Or if you have a 10 run lead after 7 innings, which we could have easily got to. You walk 17 times in a game and you scored less runs than you walked and you got seven less hits than your walks. Yes, it's great. They won. It was entertaining. I'm happy that the world baseball classic is back. It was fun to watch. But by the end, it was like, oh my goodness, they're calling a buck. Really? Like the guy, the guy 17 years old. 17 years old. And they're calling a buck, moving the run, and like, can we all go home? It doesn't matter now that we're in the ninth inning. Eight, ninth inning. We scored eight runs in the ninth inning. Like, it didn't matter by that point. It wasn't going to change the mercy rule, Calvary.
Seven runs in the ninth, one in the eighth, four in the fifth, and just so many walks. Everybody walked. Five at bats for Harper, five at bats for Bobby Wade, four at bats for Judge, who was a monster. I don't know how. It's fun watching, Judge. But he is a monster at the plate. Aaron Judge, if Raleigh didn't do much at the plate today, he scored two runs. He walked, didn't walk at all. Roman Anthony walked. No, everyone walked. Alex Braggman had one plate appearance because he walked four times. Here's an OPS of 833 early. Ernie Clement came in, didn't hit. Aaron Judge walked twice. Bryce Tarang didn't get a walk, but he got four RBI's. Because Bryce Tarang actually hit the ball. When there were guys on base to walk, you get on base. It's hard. It's 12 a.m. and I'm trying to find energy here. You get guys on base and you couldn't get anyone. It's great that you walk. It's great that you understand how to do that, and it's great that you guys don't chase
anything. You're not free swingers. But someone has to swing the bat. Someone has to get a run to home. Someone's got to do something about it that. That was brutal. And Brazil does not deserve to be there. Brazil was, they could not throw pitches in the zone. It was literally watching the game was like watching paint dry, and I don't love saying that. Normally you say that after a game that you would have lost. But no, it was just, I felt bad for the guys in the mound. They were just getting destroyed. It didn't matter. They were just, each and every pitch was a problem. Lucas Ramirez. Many Ramirez's son was nuts. He had two home runs. He has three home runs in his minor league career, and he had two home runs in this game. For some other notes, the Phillies did play today. They won 14 to 10, and they played their nine guys, almost the entire game. Rojas made, went 0 for 6 in his time out there. Marshawn went 2 for 3 with two doubles.
Phillies were 0 for 2 on the ABS system. So as to hit a double today, Suarez went 2 innings and 1 run, and Christopher Sanchez was not great. 2 on run, 6 hits and a walk in 1.1 innings for Dominican, who eventually mercy ruled. So tomorrow there will be another one of these World Baseball Classic podcasts. It'll be after the Trix Google game, which I don't care if we win or lose. I want to score runs early, quick, and often, and move on, or have a really close game. One of the two. That was painful. Win, but painful. It was like watching a spring training game, but in World Baseball Classic, and just no one. There was a sarcastic cheer, went up to the two-click things. There was a sarcastic cheer that went up in the crowd every time the Brazil pitcher threw a strike. And then at one point, they were trying to figure out, like, guessing how long or what, like, wait, Aaron Judges bat is. So the, I think it was AJ Przinski, or AJ, or AJ, whatever his name is, in the broadcast
booth. And he tried to make a 6-7 joke, but neither the broadcasters caught onto it at all. And he tried, and I'm like, oh, no, that's such a big flop. Such a big flop. Go watch the A-thing. If you want to go watch that game back, be my guest. Stuttering over my words, it's 1206 in the morning. Have a good night, everybody. And I will see all of you tomorrow when the US takes on Great Britain. Great Britain is 0 and 1, and the US is 1 and 0. They send Tariq Scoobal, the AL-Sai young, onto the mound. Have a great night, everyone. I'll see you all of you tomorrow, or later today, because it's 1206.
