Hey, good morning, how y'all feeling out there today? This is Strawberry and we get ready to do the work for the day, so everybody have a good, relaxed, patient, understanding day, and understanding you matter every day, not just today. It's the Word of the Day podcast, 4 March 3rd. Today's word is spiel, spelled S-P-I-E-L. Spiel is a noun. A spiel is a fast speech that someone has often said before, and that is usually intended to persuade people to buy something or to agree to something. Here's the word used. In a sentence from the Hollywood reporter, we were in a hotel, and when he and his publicist exited one door of the suite, I slipped out the other to meet him at the elevator. I gave him my spiel about the film and handed him a rough cut on VHS.

He said, all right, we'll take a look. Here's our spiel on the word spiel. It's well known as a noun, and you may also be aware that spiel can be used as a verb, meaning to talk extravagantly. But did you know that the verb can also mean to play music? That, in fact, is the word's original meaning, and one it shares with its German root spielin. Spiel is also found in the word Glockenspiel, the name of a musical instrument similar to the xylophone, with your word of the day, Ampider, Sakalowski. There's a problem at the moment that you're wrestling with, or you've got this underlying feeling all the time that you're like, oh no, I'm not getting rid of it, it's feel stressed all the time. Well, I've got a tip for you that I use with my presenter coaching that actually works all of the time. So I say to clients, you can prepare all you like, you can write as many scripts as you like, but until you say it out loud, you don't know what it's going to feel like, be like, sound like.

And so today, I want you to think about this. I want you to just find some time to say some stuff out loud. What's bothering you? How is it getting affecting you? What would you like to say in this moment? What do you want to happen in this moment? As soon as you start saying it out loud, your brain hears it. I'm sure you've been in a situation before where you've said something really innocently and then realised it was actually quite rude. Or naughty or inappropriate, but you don't hear it until you say it out loud. It's the same with your problems. It's the same with conversations you want to have. It's the same with your feelings. It's the same with anything that you're afraid of saying or rumbling with right now. Find a way to say it out loud. I'll be back tomorrow with another episode of Everyday Positivity. In the meantime, have a great day and remember you have 100%. Got this. Got this. Got this. Got this. Got this. Got this.

Got this. Got this. Got this.
