Yo, what's going on? It is 1 p.m. here and Crystal Lake, Illinois means it's time for another live stream. Today is Monday, March 2nd, 2026. The year keeps on flying by today. It is still a little bit chilly, but temperatures are getting mild. I do feel like Woodstock Willie, the groundhog that's here in Illinois, was right because he said that it was going to be spring soon, and since then, temperatures have been mild. We've had some cold days, but nothing got crazy cold. We didn't get a ton of snow, like we usually get at the end of February, which I might have just jinxed it. Maybe we'll get a bunch of snow in March, which can happen. But today was not that bad. I did have my mittens on when I ran, but I haven't used hand warmers in my mittens pretty much throughout the entire month of February. Maybe some of the early weeks of February, but it's been a while, so things are getting

better. Today, sorry, I'm running a little bit late. The morning got away from me, but today I'm finally going to try. This isn't a new flavor, but this is a new flavor to me. I don't think I've tried this before. You guys have been calling it the Pog, Prussian Fruit, Orange, and Guava flavor of scratch. I got a bottle down here with some water in it. We'll get that going, plus we've got some packages that I don't know what they are. I think I know what one of them is. The rest of them, I don't know what they are. I'm pretty sure I can show them to you, but I'm not sure. But we'll have to wait and see. Before we get into it, let's say hi to everyone listening on the audio only version on the podcast. Hopefully you are getting some really nice mild weather and for everyone else watching this later, but not live. Welcome to the number one drive time radio show for runners, and I hope that your dishwasher is going well. I know I use that one a lot, but I feel like most of you guys are watching this when you're watching the dishes, and I always want for that to

go well. All right. I mentioned in the chat that the roofing guy was here, and James Sparky says, I hope the roof isn't a big problem. It's not. I mentioned it a while ago that we have a bird up in the attic, and now that company is here. They said they were going to, they did like a quick patch, but they had more work that they needed to do, and so my wife had a check for them, because we're paying them with the check apparently, and they just rang the doorbell like right as I was about to get started. So I still would have been late, but I was more late because I had to talk to the guys for a little bit, but they don't really need me, I don't think, so I think they could do it pretty quick. It should be an easy job, I think. These are aperture, says Yo-Yo, got through a long 13 mile run on the LFT yesterday, like Front Trail. What do people do for bathrooms in the winter? That was always a super tough one on the front trail, because pretty much right after,

not that long after, like, Labor Day. I think early in October, a lot of the bathrooms along the lakefront close, and they don't open until April, I want to say, surprisingly late, given the fact that Chicago, a lot of people start their spring running with Shamrock Shuffle, which is coming up soon. The best one that's available year round, and even this is only sometimes, is at Navy Pier. If you go into Navy Pier, it opens earlier than you think, but it doesn't open super early. If you're a before work runner, this is probably not going to work for you, but on the weekends, you can always go into Navy Pier, and there are bathrooms in there. It's quite a detour from your run, but you can run down towards Navy Pier, and then they're not that far from the entrance.

That's probably the best one that's still on the pier, on the lakefront, but other than that, I'm not really sure what to do. All right. John Smith says, hi all. Glad to hear there's a livestream today. Interesting to hear what you all think about the USATF debacle yesterday in the women's race. Yeah. I mean, I don't know how much we need to talk about it, because I feel like, I mean, I talked about it a lot yesterday, well, on threads, and it is, it was a weird situation. I think everyone knows what happened. It was the USATF half marathon championships. I went last year to go cover it. I feel like not a lot of people, the people that watched it liked my coverage, a lot of people elected not to watch my coverage, so I didn't go this year. So I was watching the livestream on my TV at home on YouTube, and it was exciting race on the women's side. The men's race also good, but on the women's side, what we're talking about is, after about

like mile 10 or 11, it seemed maybe earlier, I'm not sure, but towards the end of the race, it looked like Emma Grace Hurley and Edna Courgott were in the lead, and they were trying to gap Jess McLean, and I felt like they were putting in surges, Jess McLean would let them kind of go, but then walk them down, and that kept happening for the next while. And then all of a sudden, at a certain point, Jess McLean made a move, and then she started gapping those other two, Emma Grace Hurley and Edna Courgott, and it looked like Emma Grace was doing well, but wasn't able to really respond to the move. And then it looked like Edna Courgott was starting to fade, but it's not clear if she was starting to fade, because at one point, the announcers were like, oh, Edna Courgott keeps looking back behind her, and maybe that means she's not feeling good and is trying to

figure out where fourth place is, because the top three would get to go to Copenhagen. It turns out what Edna Courgott was looking back at was that there were vehicles like Ford Explorers with lights and siren splaring, police motorcycle, lights and siren blaring, chasing those runners down, and eventually one of those Explorers drove up ahead of the runners, stopped in the middle of the road to block the road, and then all of a sudden, you see Jess McLean doing a U-turn. And I'm like, I don't know the half marathon course in Atlanta, but I'm like, I don't think that there is an out and back U-turn on this course. And then you also saw Emma Grace and Edna Courgott do a U-turn, but they were turning too soon. It was like, wait, they were further back. They shouldn't be turning around at the same time as Jess McLean. And then all of a sudden, in the camera on the lead car, kind of starts pointing at the

ground. That car starts speeding away somewhere else, and it's not clear what's happening. The feed cuts to a picture of the course map, because they just wanted to cut. They cut away to something else, and they just put up an image. And we didn't really know what was happening. And the announcers didn't really know what was happening. And then a minute later, they came back. And they were like, it looks like there was a wrong turn. But the camera was still on, Jess McLean, Emma Grace Hurley and Edna Courgott. And even the announcer was confused, and it was like, well, it looks like everything's still fine, because it looks like, you know, Jess McLean is still in the lead. And it looks like Emma Grace is still in second, and Edna Courgott is still in third. But then there was the 20 K time, then they all crossed the 20 K timing mat. And then there was a side bar on the feed that showed you who was in the lead. And those three women were now in like 10th place, 11th place, and 12th place. And we're like, what is happening? And then you see like a helicopter shot. And it's Emily Bourne, who is the USATF marathon championship from CIM in 2025.

Not that long ago, like two months ago. She's coming down the home stretch. You kind of come down a big hill, and then you make a right into like this little stadium area. And then you make a right and a right, quick right, and then you're at the finish line. And everyone's like, what, wait, what is happening? And then they realized that like those three women were not back in first place. They were now in like 10th place. And so Emily Bourne, I don't know who else. I think Carrie Elwood was another one of the women that now was on the podium and someone else. And then many other people were also finishing ahead. And then finally those top three women came in. And it was a disaster or that, oh my gosh, it was so bizarre. And like you could see in the chat. So the chat was going on. And the chat for the Atlanta Track Club live stream was a good group.

There was one dude that was really pissed off that there weren't, I guess, more white people that were finishing on the podium in the men's race. And that was pretty annoying. And I feel like Atlanta Track Club needs to have a moderator in the chat. But given everything else, it's happened. That's a discussion for another day. So the chat was like, what is happening, guys, what is going on? And where no one knows what's happening. And they're not acknowledging it from the announcing booth because I don't think they really know what's happening or they don't know what's going to happen with some of these contested results. And it was just wild. Tracy Smith says the women that ended up on the podium looked distraught. Yeah, because they knew that those other three women were ahead of them at some point. But I listened to some, anyway, I'm trying to dissect this in the order that happened. So they come across the line. They broke tape and they're telling them they're like, hey, you're the winner in a second, you're third. And they're like, what? And they're having talks with them and they look confused, distraught like Tracy was saying.

And then the original top three then cross and like just McLean comes across the line. And you could see her like with the lip syncing, you know, like the lip reading. She's like, I am so pissed off. I got to a little bit later, Emma Grace Hurley is like visibly very upset talking with someone on the sidelines. And like everyone's mad, you see like someone's handing Jess McLean a phone. She's calling someone, I don't know who she's calling, but she's like on a phone calling someone. And so like at that point we start hearing that like there's going to be protests going on. And that's it. And that's like that was it. We cut to like an interview of the men, which was a hookah sweep, by the way. And they were all wearing this singlet, you know, we just unboxed a singlet the other day. So they were all three of them were in the singlet, Alex, you know, it was an, it was Wesley Kipp to came in first, took it easily. And then Hillary Boer came in second.

And then I forget, is it Ahmed? I forget his last name came in third. So really interesting story there, but that got overshadowed. And everyone was like, we want to know what's going on in the chat. And like there's just no information they give. And then all of a sudden I was like, all right, thanks guys, thanks for watching the live stream. And then it was over. And so we had no idea what was going on. But we realized, so I went to, I went to the threads and I'm like, I don't know what, what, what happened here. Shannon's like, hey, go, you were the first reporting on it on threads. Thanks for sharing. So, so, so infuriating, I was, so, so, so I was chatting with someone on the live stream. He's like, you got to go online now and talk about this. This is weird. I'm like, I don't know what I'm going to talk about, like, I have no information, except for what I just saw. And I was like, well, maybe I'll just say what I saw, you know. And it was, that took off from an engagement perspective. And so it was, it's interesting because it's not a race that people pay attention to

a lot normally. Like, it's one of those things where, like, one, something bad happens. People love to pile on on it. But like, this was something to get mad about. This was something to be upset about. So it was, it was wild. Since then, I've been able to, we've gotten a statement from USATF, which was very quick to throw Atlanta Track Club under the bus. Just, like, guys, we're all, you're all on the same team, like, that's not the message. They were like, by the way, just so everyone knows, per the rules, USATF doesn't do anything about pace cars. That's 100% the responsibility of the race organizers. And the race organizers in this race was Atlanta Track Club. That was like the statement. I'm like, God, that's tone deaf. And then Atlanta Track Club eventually made a statement much later. This women posted some interviews very quickly. They had someone on location to interview the women afterwards, heard from Molly Born,

who was the winner. And the decision was ultimately, is that, like, she's the USATF champion. The podium is the podium, how it came through. Any appeals have been denied. I don't know what the appeals would have done. It's not like this was a preliminary round, and someone that didn't make it through the rounds now gets to compete in a semifinal or a final. It's not like that. So I don't know they're not like, I don't think the appeal would have asked for everyone else to be de-cute, because they didn't do anything wrong. But Molly Born was saying that her understanding, she's like, it stinks. She's like, I wasn't having a great day, but I was running hard, and then she said that she saw that Kerry Elwood was in front of her, and then Kerry Elwood started to go down the wrong way, but Kerry Elwood was like the last runner that went the wrong way, and

Kerry Elwood ended up being behind Molly in the finish. But Molly was like the first runner that didn't go down the wrong way. So it was not just those three women that went the wrong way. Other women went the wrong way, too, at least according to what Molly was saying. And so Molly said that she just happened to be the first one that didn't go the wrong way, and then she ended up winning. I mean, it's not like she tripped over in one, like she was running hard, and she's a fast runner. So it's a little bit more complicated than that, but yeah, and then she also said, like, you know, she would decline the spot if it would help, but someone told her that there's a USATF rule, that like even if people declined the spot ahead of you, normally it's like, you know, do you want to run World Championships marathon in Tokyo, for example? Someone might say no, and then a USATF will go down the list of who's like next that they should call. They said that they won't go down more than fifth place, no matter what happens in a race.

So I'm like, this is a USATF rule. The USATF could just suspend the rule in this situation, because there's an extenuating circumstance. So, anyway, but so that's, she's like, I don't, so she's just like, I don't know what's going to happen, I don't know what to do. I heard from someone who was telling me on Strava that you could see that Emma Grace Hurley's Strava graph is on there, and they went off course for about a half a mile. Since then also, Jessica McLean has posted a couple of things on there, and she said that she, they were let off her, by her count, it was more than a thousand meters, so like an extra kilometer, you know. So yeah, so it was a long way, it was a long way, and some people's reactions, I think

the weird take is that some people like, you should know the course, and I'm like, when the lead vehicle is leading you, I don't understand that, but I think a lot of people have kind of backed off on that, and then some people are like, well, they should run it again, and I'm like, well, then does everyone get to run it again? It's not cheap to do this, it's not eat, you can't just recover and run it again tomorrow, you know. So yeah, yeah, photos by Dwayne says, all peos have been night, yeah, that announcement came out fast, and I'm like, I feel like that's right. The other thing that someone was saying, I don't know if it was the USATF statement, or if someone was in one of the athlete interviews, a lot of things kind of like just mixed together to me, is someone was saying, yes, this is a selection race, but USATF doesn't have to announce their team, or make their team final until May, and so I'm like, oh, does that mean they're going to try and rerun another event, or does that mean they're

just going to say like in this situation, because it's so weird, we're going to select them all, like, I don't know, I don't know, yeah, Frank says that apparently they don't have any actual rules to deal with something like this, so they didn't have any choice, they didn't have any options to deny the appeals, yeah, I mean, I feel like what is there to appeal? It's not like someone fall started on a gun going off race, so I don't know, on what basis they would, or what the remedy would be, if you're like, okay, appeal granted, now what, I don't know, Frank's like, it's not like they can run the race again, exactly, I don't know, yeah, and Richardson says, yeah, even if they don't take the spots, they probably won't automatically roll past 5th, yeah, I don't know, I mean, I think if they, if that's what they're going to do, then like after the first three declining, or after the first five decline, then, because I don't know what places they ended up in, like 7-3-8, like after 5th, then do they just get to sign it?

You know, I don't know, but Rich brings up, the other point is like, there's also the matter of prize money, I hope eight Atlanta track clubs steps up on that, they said they make the lead pack whole, they did say that, and I felt like the Atlanta track clubs statement was short, but overall good, now what that means and follow up in terms of making those athletes whole is a much different thing, like the prize money is just part of it, you know what I mean? And it's very similar, I know the circumstances are very different, but like the effects are similar to like when people talk about like when there's been doping, and like, not only did you not win the spot and lose prize money, but like that also had contract implications for most people that had publicity implications for me, I was like, look at picture that like the men got to take, the three of them got to like hold up the American flag, three of them next to each other, and like have that photo, have that moment where you get to be proud, and you're like, I'm going to represent my country, like whoever

gets to go, didn't get that moment in this race, you know, and so like that's one thing that you miss out on too, yeah, so it's just wild, the Hoppler JD says, so lead vehicles are having a rough year, they de-queed the world record, and now this, yeah, I don't want to, it's not de, he's not a de-queue of his result, but it's just not a ratified world record, which I guess, I mean, does it mean that much different, I mean, I guess since he's not de-queued, I guess he still keeps his prize money, right, in that half marathon, but he doesn't get the world record, which is a pretty big deal, but now this too, yeah, someone was mentioning that there are some other sports, there was a recent triathlon event where something like this happened too, so I don't know, I don't know, yeah, Richwell

Wilson says, 912th and 13th I show is how the original top three ended, yeah, yeah, yeah, and Herm says, from what I gathered, and in parenthesis he says, I watched one IG story, there were multiple root issues between the half and full, yeah, and people remember that last year's full marathon was measured incorrectly, and so if you did bequeue, it didn't count, you can use it, so that was a big problem. Frank says, you know, when did you think that smartwatchers could basically eliminate this problem by now? I would say like, in the sense that like, you couldn't really use that for the same reason that like, we still have bibs and chips, but like, and like, I just think the other thing is that like, I guess I could have had the root on their watch, but I think like, I don't talk to my wife about it, who was, my wife was a patient saint yesterday, because I was like, ranting about this like, all day, and I'm just sure my wife was just like, I do

not care. She's like, this is a race that you thought was not important enough for you to go to, to cover, and now we're spending like an hour talking about this, and I was like, yes, she didn't say that, but I was like, I'm like, I just got to get to saw my chest, but I'm like, if you are like, the driver usually isn't by themselves, right? So there's two people that could be, right, in charges, like, making sure that the root is driven correctly. And like, I mean, I guess you could make a root on your, like, cars GPS, like your, like Google Maps or whatever, to make it run the exact root, but like, you could also put the root on your watch and just drive the root on your watch, you know what I mean? So like, there's just got to be, where's the belt and suspenders, you know what I mean? Like, where, who, who's in charge of the root, you know, and people reminded me that,

like, this happened, or let me know, because I didn't know, Alfa is telling us here, Alfa Ace says, this happened in Fort Atlanta for the Petri road race two years or so back. Yeah, I wasn't aware of that one. And like, I was, one of the things I was telling my wife is, I forget what race it was, and I want to say it was a triathlon, but maybe it was just a race in Europe, where there was a situation where two athletes were like, go, like racing shoulder to shoulder towards the end of a long race. One athlete was starting to pull ahead, but then like, there was like a last minute left turn, and then like 50 yards or meters from the last turn to the end. And that athlete that was in the lead, or starting to break away, didn't make the turn, and like, realized like, really quickly, but still too late, whereas the person that did make the turn correctly, could have easily just jogged it into win, but like, it was so close to the finish that, that athlete, that would have, that didn't make the wrong turn, like, waited for that thing.

I'm like, so sometimes it happens, and it's like a really nice show of sportsmanship. Like, this situation, it's like, there was no chance for anyone to have good sportsmanship on this one, because the error was so big, you know, so like, it was just, it was a, yeah, I don't know, I don't know how to fix it. I'm glad I'm not in charge of having to fix it, but it's a big mess up, you know. Shannon says, my kids heard a lot of ranting for me as well, and I got them around them. I told my daughter about it too. She's like, how does that happen? I'm like, well, you see what happened was, I think is that there is also a full marathon run on the same day. And I think that because of that, the lead car went down a road that also happened to have, that was also closed off, and also happened to have cones on it. So that lead car didn't notice right away that it was going down the wrong way.

You know, I was like, I was trying to explain it to her, what I think could have happened. I'm trying to be as generous as possible to like the lead car, but I'm like, as far as the athletes are going, the lead car is still driving lead car speed. There's a follow-moto with a photographer on it, also still going in a videographer on it, or a videographer, not a photographer, but a videographer on it. Still going like race speed, right? I think there was two vehicles at that point. I could be wrong. Maybe it was just the one. But anyway, it was still going. It was not like, a lot of times when a vehicle turns off the course and the athletes are supposed to go another way, that car, like turns off to the side and stops because that's where it's supposed to sit. Or it turns off and then takes off because it has to go to somewhere else, to be somewhere else. But it was still behaving as if this was all normal. All right, Paul Paul says, this happened in South Africa a while ago.

Biggest issue was people using the marathon for comrades qualifying seating. An extra three kilometers, the calculator who had missed and gave them adjusted times, which were accepted. Oh, it's interesting. That's wild. Johnny Dodger says, going the wrong way while leading a running race is my literal regular sleeping nightmare and I'm a complete nobody. I can't imagine what this must be like for this to happen in real life to an elite runner. Yeah, I just don't, it's, it was such a big, a big, you know what I mean? It's not like they were like, oh, go this way because like, do you guys remember one year? Who was it in the New York marathon? It was it like, was it Shnade, Shnade diver and who was the other, it was two Australian women were running and they were making a turn and they ended up taking the turn wide and there was like, it was one of those turns where like the road was only partially

blocked off and it was just like a thin line of, you know, like that caution tape that kind of blocked off the turn and they just barreled right through it, you know, I'm like, and they were like, oops, and then they got back onto the course. It wasn't a little oops, you know, it was like a bit, this is such a big, yeah, and Rachel wasn't said, born didn't even know she'd won even with the tape up. Yeah, she, her response was like, I thought they were just given tape for everybody now, which is something that they do in Tokyo, like if you ever watched like the Tokyo finish line, if you ever watched like a live stream of the Tokyo Marathon, they put out like the tape like 17 times. I don't know how they decide who gets tape or not, but they just, it keeps coming out and you're like, oh, this, wait, what's going on here? I feel like if, like, you know, like the way that we look at, like, oh, this is top American, this is, you know, an area record for, you know, Oshiana. So like, like anytime something like that happens that they see come through, they, they

get the tape out. And then some, I see, I feel like happens a lot getting to run says, it turns out I'm once again relieved not to be a race director. Uh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Shrikah Lanya, Pete Lanyan, Pete says, even if my hometown, hometown half marathon in Naperville, there are signs, cones and volunteers. To show the course direction. Yeah. Well, I mean, there was someone there at this race to show the course direction that someone just went the wrong way, you know, oh, Tracy Smith said, the lead car led Marcel Houg off course at Boston a few years ago. Where does the lead car turn off in Boston, though, um, is it before yet, like, so I could, I could see that being tricky, um, especially since he's going to be going so fast. Uh, getting to run says a group of us followed someone down a wrong trail during my first

50k. She felt so bad and we were just back of the pack runners. I can't imagine being that driver. That happened to me once too. So when my buddy Jamal, um, put on the outer belt altres and I ran the half marathon, um, we got way lost. I think it was my fault. I'm not sure. No, we got, we got lost for a lot of different reasons. There was a lot of weird course markings on and I think my color behind this didn't help. But we, like, so I was running, I think I was in the lead and like, there was two or three who are behind me. This was a small race. I think there was maybe like 12 people, 15 people, um, in the half marathon in that day. And, uh, we're running and I stopped and I'm like, I think we made a wrong turn. And the two people behind me are like, what? And I'm like, yeah. And then how far do you think we're off? I'm like, I have no idea. And it turned out, I found out later that the person that was right behind me, this younger woman, she, this was her first half marathon ever.

She's normally like just like a gym girly and she was like, I thought I'd do a half marathon and this one seemed fun. And she's like, this is the farthest I've ever run and I'm like, I'm so sorry. I made such a mistake. So I felt really bad about that. But she did great. You know, she won, she won on the women's side. Uh, yeah, Sean says, I think who missed the right on hair for it. So that's what I would think. So like they come up like that, the little underpass thing and then you go a little bit and then you make the right and then the left, I think does the lead car just keep going straight? Yeah. I don't know. Um, yeah. Adam says, as a race director, my carnal sins don't get people lost. Don't run out of water. Don't script the results. On the latter, at least three showing ahead of me, uh, in full results are almost certainly did the have, uh, yeah, um, yeah, oh, but yeah, uh, before we move on, and then did you think we should move on?

Cause now it's been, I've been ranting about this for 20 minutes. Um, yeah, I don't, I don't know what they're going to do. But it's a, it's certainly a mess. But the other thing that I saw is something that, uh, Paul public mentions, Mando singing, the other topping I was hoping would be discussed today. Did you guys see that? Did you guys hear that? Now, I know like, is it, was it Jacob that had the, like, had a music video or something like that? Did he have one? So not to be outdone, Mando was on something, it was, it was a, it was a, it was professionally lit, right? So it was like, it, it was a professional stage of some sort. It, what, it doesn't seem like it was in front of a live audience, but there was also backup singers and musicians and like, this was like a professional studio, not a studio like a recording studio, but like, I don't know for people in Chicago, like when you watch

WGN on the weekends, is it sensation or something like that? There's just like, uh, there's like Bible songs are on that are sung by very talented musicians, but it's on like the, it's like, it's like a public broadcasting stage, but it's a professional studio stage. It was like that, um, and he was singing and, uh, what, what genre, Paul, would you even say that that music was? Um, I think I felt like he was going to going for like a vampire weekend kind of thing, and it, it came off, I mean, I feel like the videography, the camera work did not help them. It came off very much like, uh, like David, David Hasselhoff, I'm huge in Germany, kind of vibe, um, and it was weird. Good for him. He's a good singer. I'm not saying he's not a good singer, um, but like, yeah, he was, was really interesting. I, I don't think it's going to catch on, you know, uh, Paul Paul says, I was too confused

to think about what genre that was, um, all right, um, Vanessa, did we try the pog already? No, we didn't. Let's get to that. I am thirsty. I came here pretty much directly from the run, uh, I did change clothes into some, just some dry clothes, but I am a little bit smelly and thirsty. I got some water in here, a full bottle, I probably filled it too much, so I'll try this passion for your orange and gulada. Um, this has 19 grams of carbs and 14, 400 milligrams of sodium, which every scratch product has 400 milligrams of sodium for serving, which I learned a little while ago. So we'll put one scoop in there. And we'll get this top on, and we'll check it out. All right, Daniel Strauss says, how about both Cole Hocker and Yarra Nugu's not making

the 1500 indoor team? I didn't, I didn't watch that. So like, uh, when I, like, I, I wasn't planning on watching that much running this weekend, but I feel like once the thing with, uh, the women's half marathon championship happened, I was like, I'm, I can't, I don't, I can't watch any more running. And so I knew there were races, um, but I didn't, I didn't, I didn't know what happened. I was, I don't know, I didn't, I didn't need a break from watching racing, but I was like, I, my, my brain can't handle more results. All right, let's try this. I think that was good enough mix. This is nice. It's, uh, I'm getting a lot of the orange, but then it has something like kind of that mellows out the acidity of the orange. Not that this would be acidic, but like, you know, that acidity flavor.

I like this a lot. I think that I would like this when I want something sweet to drink at the house. What I want this on the run, I'll have to try it. I, it's not going to replace fruit punch for me, but this is nice. I feel like I would want this fizzy. I would love this fizzy. Maybe next time I will mix it with some sparkling water to make it fizzy. I feel like that, that'd be a nice drink, you know. That's good. I like that one. Shannon says, I missed the OG Mukbang Mondays where it was kind of a food eating contest for co, I mean, the thing is, I think we ran out of the things to eat, you know, there's no, I mean, I could just eat random stuff, I guess, but I, like, I went through a lot of the gels. I feel like I tried them all at this point. By the way, on gels, I ate all my gels at Black Canyon, and so I have zero gels

right now. So I just re-ordered a bunch, and I went to buy precision fuel and hydration. I like the regular, and I also like the cap. So I was going to buy it like 15 to 30, or like a box or two of each, right? And the pricing on that's really weird right now. And so like the regular one, it's like, you know, you can get one, you can get four, you can get 15 or 30. And as you would expect, it gets cheaper as you go up. For the caffeinated ones, it got more expensive, the more you bought, or I think maybe 30 was the most expensive per unit. The math on it was really weird. So I ended up buying, like the cheapest way to get the caffeinated ones was to buy a four pack. So I bought five four packs rather than buying 30, because per unit it'd be cheaper. And then I just ended up buying a different brand of caffeinated ones, because I like, I don't understand what kind of funny business is happening here.

I don't understand. Yeah, Hermes says, I wrote a bunch of science and sports this morning, there was a great sale on the feed. Yes, there is a lot of science and sport on sale. Is the feed still the only US distributor of science and sport still, or is there any other places to get it? I don't know. My minute is because it says, Kobe tried Cliffblocks. Cliffblocks were the first, like runner nutrition. I ever tried, before I ever tried Goose, I was using Blocks. So I've been using Blocks since like 2010, although I don't use them now, but like, I've used them back then. I think that's what I used. Yeah, I think I used Gatorade. You saw also make ones too, so I used to get those as well. Mark says, according to yesterday's feed emails, the science and sport gels are going up

in price soon, so maybe stock up. Is that, is that, I mean, wouldn't they have more clarity on, wouldn't the feed have more clarity on whether the price is going to go up? I don't know. And Patrick says, yeah, the science and sport just announced, so it's science and sport that announced increasing prices this week, bit of a bummer because I always thought they were a great quality value. That was their, that was their thing, you know what I mean? I was like, and when I started using science and sport, I think it was like $1.40 per unit. And then it got to like $2 per unit. I'm like, it's still pretty cheap relative to other brands, and I felt like you're getting a good product. I like that. It's a little bit more like a liquid rather than a paste, and I was like, this is good. I like it. And then it got a little bit more expensive than that, and I was like, I don't know. Tracy says, Casey Klinger ran a 208 something in Tokyo, isn't that approaching Clayton's PR?

I think that was his old PR, but now he's like a 207 guy now, right? But anyway, still, yes, close. Yeah, it's, I was listening to Marathon Handbook. There take on Tokyo Marathon yesterday night, I was doing some work, very thorough. They do a good like post race analysis, and yeah, but they didn't talk a lot about Casey Klinger, and it's hard, I think, because like the Tokyo Marathon doesn't care that much about American athletes, so not a lot of American athletes have an incentive to go over there, unless they're an A6 athlete, typically, it seems. And Casey Klinger is not an A6 athlete, but he went over there and ran a 208, which is very impressive. It was kind of a warm day in Tokyo, from people that I heard from.

They said it was warm, I think it was 50 degrees at the start. So warmer than when I ran there, but yeah, that's really, really cool. A lot of people, a lot of Americans running fast in Japan, between that, Ethan Shouley, which I haven't heard any of the interviews of his that have come out since his race, but they're on my list to get to. I'm also waiting for him to make his YouTube video about it, because right now if you watch his Ethan Shouley's YouTube page, he's still on the last half marathon that he ran before his PR, so just waiting for it to catch up. Let's see. You betcha says, I got a sample of his interview product that was his weird blobby half gel kind

of weird, but not bad, the NAC gels NAAK, and the A has the two dots over it, or one of the A's has the two dots over it, also is like that, but I guess so is like Martin. Kind of like a weird like jelly preserves kind of thing, I don't think I've ever had an interview. LRVAT says, science and sports said there's going to go up 20 to 40% in price, a 40% increase, that's crazy, 40% that's a lot, oh my gosh, and Mark Petersen is confirming that Mill City does sell science and sports, Betafield gels. If I come up to Minneapolis, I'll have to stop by. I was going to be going up to Minneapolis later this month, but I think that I'm not going

to be. My daughter has a rock climbing competition, but my other daughter has a birthday party that Shirley wants to go to, so we might be splitting up this weekend, and I think I'd be staying home, so we'll see. Mark Meyer says, you know, back when you could get science and sports for a dollar each on sale was so nice, it's been a while. It was nice, wasn't it? That was before when you get on an Amazon as well, I don't know if you were getting it on Amazon. I mean, I don't shop on Amazon anymore, but before the feed became like the exclusive supplier of science and sport, you could get a pretty cheap there, but you could also, it was still cheap at the feed. Mark Richardson said, Ben Johnson had a fast day. He sure did. What was his time, is anyone know? And Vanessa Martin says, I need somewhere to take the gels I didn't like, a gel swap meet. Should we do that at the next shakeout, like bring your nasty gels, but what if you ring

all your nasty gels and no one wants them? That'll be really funny to have a gel swap. I think I think it'd have to be like bring one, bring one nasty gel, but be nice. Like don't have to be like an actual gel, like a real flavor that's that you actually purchased. And you can only bring one and you trade with one other person and you eat it on the spot. Like here's a trade, here's a trade, and then all the same time, like rip everyone at the same time we're going to do nasty gel swap. Well, we'll work on the name, we'll call it nasty gel swap, but I think I think I'm I think maybe we're on to something, or maybe not, I don't know. Didn't this trade says, you know, I transitioned from science and sport to carbs, best bang for the buck. Here's what I hear. So carbs, they sell the big one, right? I don't like the big one, the big one's too big. It's 50 grams. I like the shorties.

The shortie is like, it's the same size as like a human gel, almost like identical type of packaging, and it's 25 grams, which I like. I don't, I like, you know, 18 to 25 is a good number for me. I don't want 40 at a time. I'd rather would eat gels more frequently than just try to eat like a 40 or a 60 gram gel, personally. So I like that shorties, but as far as I know, they don't make all the same varieties of carbs in the shorties as they make it the bigs, right? So like the big ones, there's the regular 50 gram carb. Then there's the one that has 50 grams of carbs and caffeine. Then they also have one that's 50 grams carbs and 450 milligrams of sodium. I'm like, that's the one I want. But they don't make any of those other flavors as shorties as far as I know, because I would like 25 grams of carbs and 200 milligrams of sodium in a gel.

Signed me up for that one. I want that one, you know. Cosmic Pineapple Michael says, you know, 50 grams of carper gels, like a bit of a gut bomb for me. I agree. That's, that's a lot. I don't know. I mean, maybe again, it's just the training. I got to work on the training, you know? Yeah, Elvara says, you know, I was planning to switch to science and sport full time from precision, but now precision might be cheaper. Precision, I just bought it. Non-the-D calf was, I want to say, like 260 a unit, but I bought 30 of them, I think. I don't know. Wrong on the numbers. But like the caffeinated ones were like three something, which isn't terrible. Not great, you know? Dana Shreys says, Ben Johnson ran a 238, yeah, that's fast.

And Johnny says, is Ben Johnson the first influencer to do a double six star? I'm pretty sure no. Rob Dalto does all the majors like every year, and he kind of like works with Abbott. So yeah, Mark Murray says, if we're going to do a gel swap, I have some expired beta fuels to trade. So remember those chronos gels that I bought at that one time? I bought them because it says they're peanut free, and I was like, these are gross. And then I was like, but I got a box of them, so I ate them and now I like them. Those are on sale at the feed, but they expire in May. So by as many as you think you could eat between now and May, but they are on sale. I bought a bunch, especially because the precision fuels were expensive for no reason. I'm sure there's a reason, but they were expensive. So I bought, get the chronos gels, the lemon, the lemon citrus one, got caffeine in it.

It's nice. I don't gel, it says, what's the worst goo I can think of? I don't know. I think like birthday cake, I was never a big fan of. And the worst gel I think that I ever had was from a honey stinger. It was like, I want to say, it tasted to me like, it had like, gin-sang powder and or something like that. There was something in it that made it taste like the bottom of a medicine cabinet. It was gross, it was so bad. Maybe I had ginger in it, I don't remember what the flavor was supposed to be. It was like berry ginger or something. It was just so nasty. That was the worst one that I ever ate. In recent, that was years ago. In recent memory, I think the NAC one, I just, the NAC one is one that I'm like, I don't. The drink is fine. That gel that I had that one time, I almost spit it out. I didn't like it. I don't know, maybe if I got a bad one or what.

I didn't like it. Anyway, let's see. I don't know what this is. Oh, I think I know what this is. I think I can show this to you guys. Oh, wait, I don't know if I can. Let me look it up quick to see if there's anyone else that has it. Oh, I'm pretty sure this is under embargo. I have a sheet now where I have all my embargoes in one place. But I didn't write down the embargo for this shoe. I don't know. Let me see. I'll check my email. Yeah, under embargo, for a little while longer, I cannot show this to you guys. Sorry. And I want to write down in my notes on my embargo sheet. The embargo is until the sale date, I think.

But they've been trying to send me their stability shoe. And I'm like, no, thanks. I don't want a stability shoe. And then I got an email from someone else at a different PR, same PR agency, but different division of it, that was like, hey, guess what? Pying ears is a client now. Do you want some pioneer stuff? And also, here's some shoes to go with that. And they were trying to slip me those stability doors. And I was like, no, thanks. Just send me the pants, please. Getting trends is, you know, I almost got to tick off that bingo square. Yeah, that was close. That was real close. I almost showed you that one. But, you know, how do I say this? Ox? Teox. I don't know how to say this word. But someone says, oh, I just got a birthday cake goo after seeing a good review on YouTube.

Some people like it, but I just think it's too sweet. Oh, I don't think I can show this to you guys either. Sorry, guys. Over to today, over to today. But you will see it soon, I think. I don't know. Custom Plano, Michael says, are people actually buying deodorant in the US? I haven't seen anyone wearing them in Boston. I don't know. I have been trying to get people to buy, not trying to get people to buy, but I've been trying to like, at least let people know what deodorant has to offer. But you guys that I've watched my year in review, my stats review, have seen that like uniformly deodorant reviews on when I try to make a review, maybe I'm the wrong messenger. But whenever I try to make a review about deodorant shoes, no one's watching it. Very few people. All right, I think we've had this conversation before, but it's teo, teox. Okay, sorry, teox. I think you'll, I think you'll be fine with the birthday cake.

That's just one that kind of gets named a lot. People get a hard time. I would say probably the flavors that I generally I'm going to avoid. Is anything that's going to have the word berry in it? Those are usually like, it's just like, it's not blueberry. It's not raspberry. It's just berry. It's usually just like a mix of things that is, I don't know what it's going to be like. Mark says, Coach's going to have some try berry flavor gels and stability deodorant available for trade at the nasty gel swap. I'm going to end up with all try berry gels. Yeah, that's so funny. Nikki STL says, you own birthday cake and smorgue are the best. The smorgue is good. It's a little bit on the sweet side. I mean, guess all goos are on the sweet side. My favorite goo, and I feel like, I don't know what happened. But how like goo got over like goo used to be the dominant player.

I mean, we call them goos still, even when we're not talking about now, we kind of just say gels. But like, for a while, we were still saying goos, even when we weren't talking about goo brand gels. But my favorite is the rock tane, like, it's like a chocolate coconut or something like that. That's, that's good. That's really good. Um, Herm says the axis is the best shoe I've worn in a while. I might give it a try, even though they use the terms stability. So we looked at the high low shoes together, right? That's the axis you're talking about, right? Um, I'm nervous about it. I want to, I want to try it. I want to like it. I had a meeting with the high low people. They're Simpsons fans. So they're good people. Um, like we were like quoting Simpsons episodes. So each other was pretty funny. So we became friends. Um, but like, uh, so I want to like it. But I'm like, I don't know stability.

I don't know stability is the move here. But, um, I will try the other one first, but they said that there has been some changes since the first shoe that they had released and this axis shoe. So I'll give them a try, a short run, maybe just to see if I can run it or not. You know, um, Daniel says the best goo of all time is espresso. Uh, that is, I, yeah, there is a, there's a double chocolate. And then there's an espresso flavor one that I like. The espresso one has like 50 milligrams of caffeine in it, right? That's a good one. Hmm. Patrick says, I got to be honest. Caffeine tastes gross in any gel. So I need to take a flavor. I wouldn't usually enjoy to kind of mask it with something else. Hmm. Yeah, I can, I can, I can taste it in Morton's for sure. I don't know. I can kind of, it's, it, there's like a metallic taste to it when I eat the precision

fuel ones so I can tell there. I can't really tell in the science in sport. Um, and I can't really tell in the chronostials that I take. I can't tell in most goo, if it's pasty, I usually can't tell like that. But I can't tell in the precision, which is closer to a pace than it is liquid. I don't know. All right, let's see this last one. This last one is another one that I don't know who it's from. And guys, I'm still waiting. I mean, I don't, I don't think is it, I'm still, and this is to me, this is to me. Um, I'm still waiting for the hook of mock seven. That's the shoe that was supposed to come with those singlet.

And I don't think there's an embargo on it because I've already seen people make, make content about it. But it's going to be for sale soon. And I think I'm, I'm not going to have a video ready for when it comes out. Oh. Here we go. It's just such a big box. I wasn't expecting this. This is the second time they put on one of these yellow straps in a PR package. The, the CLO XOR and also came in one of these two. Uh, Vanessa says, oh, is that great? You can hear? I can barely hear. But yeah. Yeah, she's, uh, this is normally the time of day, like the middle of the day, she usually gets let out. And so I don't know if she has to go. That's why I do it. But like, I also think that like, um, she's just accustomed to getting let out. And I didn't get to, I usually do a before livestream, but I didn't get to do that today. Okay.

So go after your speed goes in our snappy lightweight trainer. Uh, they're giving us weights and not sample size. But you got Derburet. Look at this. Look at this. They've got the whole expect sheet right on this PR package. Derburetian rubber heel, super critical foamed EVA midsole. So same type of foam as last time, which I'm like, it's been how many years since we got a mock update. And the foam is the same. Hmm. All right, sticky rubber for foot out. So five millimeter heel to toe drop. I did ask Coco what the, the stack height is on it. They told me 37 millimeters. Which I don't, I don't know why they didn't put that on the tech sheets. Fast and snappy light and breathable. Creel jacquard upper with an internal gusset delivers all around comfort. Derburetian for daily miles.

Strategic rubber outsole covers last longer. The mock six and the mock five were, I think the best hoca shoes that hoca made for a really long time. And I do not understand. I mean, they went to like mock acts, you know, but like, I don't understand why it took so long to get us a mock seven. And on paper, it seems to be like, same shoe. I don't know. So hopefully when I run it, I'll be like, oh, okay, this is why it took so long. But I don't know. There is a, nice little belt in here. The better to store your gels in. It's, this is padded. There's a pad to this. I worry that's it's going to be a sweat sponge, but like, I guess is that, it's like a pad of neoprene. Is that, cause you got a bottle in there, or to keep the phone from hurting you as you're running? There's also a little side pocket on this each side. So three pockets, all zippered.

I don't think there's anything in this besides the shoes other than there's that thing and then the shoes. And then we'll get these out. Alright, so here. Here it says, a new supercritical foam. It's all gives box seven. It's signature mix of softness and rebound. It cushions daily miles while returning energy on faster effort. Creating a smooth snappy ride that feels just as good on your third interval as it does on warm up. Let's lace up and let's go. Okay. So a new supercritical foam. So maybe just saying, oh, before it was supercritical foam, and now it's super real foam is maybe too simplistic. I do like the design of it. I think it's pretty. I don't love this colorway, but the shaping of the midsole looks nice. Very similar outsole pattern if I'm remembering it correctly.

A little guide channel through the middle. And it looks pretty. Do I have any of the hoca racers down here? I was going to say like this little cut through here between like the back of the heel and the underneath the arch on the lateral side. Kind of reminds me of something. And I was like, does it remind me of the CLO? It does like a little bit. So there's like some similarity in there. I think it probably looks more like a CLO X1 2.0. But it's got the same like lipstick on the front. That little splash of red. That color fades in there. So there's that. So there's some symmetry here. When I move them together like this, then it looks like, oh, these are the same. Shoes. So maybe these are going to feel very similar.

Sean says, I see a hook I still hasn't fired whoever does their colorways. I don't know. This one is not my favorite. But to the sense that it kind of complements the CLO X1 3.0. I think I see the vision. But I would have liked like my favorite Mox are always black upper white midsole. If they made this in a black upper gray midsole. I'm going to wear that all day long. Seems pretty comfortable. Like I think it's going to be comfortable. I also feel like it's going to feel exactly like a Mox X. Smells like crayons in here. Plasticky crayons. Like, yeah. I don't know. Ryan says, what's the mock line traditionally used for? So the mock was kind of like a speedy alternative to the Clifton. So people were always like, well, if Clifton's a daily trainer, what is the mock?

Some people could have used it as like a tempo shoe. And I guess people are using the mock X as the tempo shoe now. But before it was like daily trainer was either Clifton, which is like a little bit more stable, a little bit more chill, or the mock, which is light, bouncy, kind of like 880 or rebel. It was kind of like two different experiences, both daily trainers. And then the tempo shoe for a lot of people until they kind of stopped updating it was the ring con. And I feel like the ring, both the ring con and like the Canvara gone undergone similar like neglect. Where I was like, oh, this right now you could advertise it as like a non plated speedy shoe. But right now each of those shoes kind of feels like cheap foam, not a lot of technology, not a lot of effort, kind of a forgotten shoe.

But they're cheap at this point. So that's where kind of those shoes fall in. But the mock was like a daily trainer, but speedier lighter. I think squishier, but also faster because it would compress decompress really quick. Shenzhen says, Co, you are colorblind and in certain instances, this one, be glad that you are. You guys think that this is that bad? I don't think this is, I mean, I don't like this, but I don't think it's that bad. Okay, I mean, yeah, okay. I mean, yeah, I think I think I think it'll be fine. Yeah, Daniel says, is this a Moxix 2.0? I mean, maybe I'm worried that it's going to be a Moxix like 1.5. You know what I mean? Like not even a two point.

I'm just like another like an upper update. I don't know where my Moxix is. I think it's over on the other shelves, but I'll have to take a look at it. Yeah, it's concerning to me that like it went so long without an update, and it's the same. Like, remember, what was it called? Super. What was the, there was the Mox5, and then the Mox5 with the big poll tab on the back. Supernova or something? No, super supersonic. The Mox5 supersonic, remember? Yeah, this could be maybe this is the Mox6 supersonic, but it has no big poll tab on the back. Sean says, I'm having an unpleasant physical reaction to this shoe color. Is it that bad? I mean, I don't like it, but I don't think it's that bad. You guys, you guys are being harsh. Maybe not.

Yeah, my miniskissert says, the Mox is the cheap trainer to compete with the EVO, the Rebel, the Azura, etc. Mike says it's, AJ says it's the preferred, that he preferred the Rebel version 4 over the Mox6. Yeah, I feel like there was a time where like the conversation was like, Novelblast Rebel Mox, right? Those were like three that you kind of said at the same time, because like the person that like the one probably like the others. You know, but like it's how long has it been? I mean, maybe I just have a short memory, but I feel like it's been forever since we saw a mock update. Get in front says it's very boring that it's trying hard to not be boring. Oh, that's pretty. You guys are not holding back.

Uh, yeah. Andrew Naples says, whatever happened to those hookers with the huge heel for the downhill races, that would be the 10-9. And they never updated those. I still have a pair of them. I last wore them as part of my Yoshi costume, because my Yoshi costume did not come with dinosaur feet. So I just wore them as dinosaur feet, and I felt like it kind of worked. I still to this day insist that the hook of 10-9 is a joke shoe. They're trolling us. Because why is it called 10-9? It's because Hoka used to be called Hoka-one-one. But everyone called it Hoka-one-one. So 11, 11, 11, 10-9. So the Hoka-one-one, 10-9. So the Hoka-one-one, 10-9. The Hoka-one-one, 10-9. I think it's just a joke.

I think the Hoka-10-9 is a joke. I don't think it was ever meant to be made, but they made them. And they sold them, and I bought one. And then they took that big heel technology or concept and put it in all their hiking shoes. So it still exists in their hiking shoes in a much more muted fashion, but it's there. Or at least it was the last time I looked at Hoka hiking. I looked at Hoka hiking in a while. But yeah. And JC says, you know, the Hoka-10-9 is a joke. And JC says, and we laughed. Yes. I think a lot of people did. Andrew and Annapolis says they need to drop a Hoka-6-7. I mean, I guess it has the missed opportunities right there. That would have been kind of funny. Hoka-6-7. Is it an update? I don't know. And getting to run says, we're about two years from the Hoka-6-7.

Yeah, two years is a long time. I don't know. Okay. All right, guys. I think that's going to be a good place to leave it for today. We've been giving this a hard time. I look forward to this. I look forward to testing it. I liked the Moxxx. If it can give me similar feelings to the Moxxx, I'll probably just tell you I won't go buy a Moxxx. But if you can't, then the Moxxx-7 is at least here. It's new. There's more of them that you can buy at this point. There probably costs a lot more with inflation and tariffs. But anyway, hopefully I'll like it. Guys, this is going to be the last livestream of this week. I'm leaving Wednesday to go to LA. I will be going to an event for a couple of days. Then that event ends Friday night slash Saturday morning. Then I'm just going to hang out. I'll be in town for the marathon.

I'm going to find somewhere to cheer from. I don't have a bib, so I'll just be hanging out. I'll be around. If you're going to run, let me know. I'll put you in my tracker and I'll look for you guys. I'll see you there. That means I won't be doing a livestream on Thursday. But I will do a livestream Monday. Because I'm taking the Red Eye Sunday night. I'll be back by Monday. So I will see you hopefully over the weekend. But if not, a week from today. In the meantime, be safe out there, everybody. Thanks. Bye.
