Girlfriends, officers found Rothwell's body alone and she was arrested the next day in Prestatin. His death came from a single chest stab wound. In interviews, Makepeace kept changing her story, first claiming self-defense, then an accident. But forensic show that knife was likely washed and evidence tracked her movements, including buying sweets and vodka for the train ride.
