Woman Escapes Custody, Fires Gun in Florida

0:00In Tampa Bay today, March 4, in Winter Haven, Florida, a 29-year-old woman named Unique Isaac pulled off a bold escape from a patrol car during her arrest. She slipped out of her handcuffs, crawled through the partition window, and repeatedly tried to grab an officer's handgun while running from police. Earlier this week, just before 3.30 AM on Monday, officers rushed to an apartment on reports of a possible shooting. They found blood on the stairs, projectiles outside, and a man with a cut arm from a fight with his girlfriend, all while two young kids were inside. The boyfriend explained that Isaac had grabbed a knife during their argument and sliced his arm. He left but came back to see her pointing a gun at her own head, then firing shots just outside before he took the weapon away. Officers had the kids safe in the patrol car, and were aiding the man when Isaac bolted. She stumbled while fleeing, ignored commands, and kept reaching for the gun so they used strikes to her head and a taser twice to get control, and restrained her hands and feet. She went to the hospital for a check before Polk County jail. Now she's charged
