Woman Charged in Racially Aggravated Train Station Assault

0:00On April 1st, a 26-year-old woman named Charlie Lane faces manslaughter charges after the death of an 87-year-old named Dorothy. Childs. This stems from an assault at Birmingham New Street Railway Station back in November. On the morning of November 19th, 2024, Dorothy suffered serious injuries during the incident. She got rushed to the hospital for surgery on a fractured hip and went home on December 2nd, but passed away from those injuries on December 27th. The huge age gap and public setting have folks talking about vulnerability in crowded spots, like train stations. Plus, Lane also got hit with a racially aggravated public order charge, adding layers to the case. Lane, from Marboro Road and Gloucester, got charged on April 1st and released on Conditional Bail.
