You're getting a great look at David wearing an interesting kind of headpiece there. You know, one just got audio listeners. What you are wearing because obviously the ones who are watching on YouTube are appreciating it in all sclery. You know, I had to stick with the theme of this week and with this episode. So I am rocking the full Wolverine cow right now. This is the Deadpool and Wolverine version. And yeah, I am just so pumped for Wolverine. I have been pumped for it and we will be talking about that with our main topic tonight. And I can't wait. Yeah, if I'm rocking the Brown and Tan shirt of Wolverine, you know, classic there.

5:16And I am, you know, got my Deadpool Wolverine Funko pop. So that says as close as I will get to to that. You know, why, as we said, why spend $400 on a hot toy when you can get a $15 Funko pop and still get the same amount of joy and the less and real not have the same buyers remorse. Yeah. So, but yeah, so we were technically all last week, even though we dropped an episode, you know, news has been light as we marched towards Vision Quest. So like we said, we warned y'all after, you know, the X-Men 97 and all the D23 stuff. We knew we were going to be going through some. But we still put out an episode of the L-Fleeve for those of you that aren't pancherned, enjoyed the Infinity War review that Brent tonight did way back when. And, but yeah, so it was good and we got a little bit of news to talk about. Like I said, our main topic is discussing our thoughts on the Wolverine games. We're very excited to talk about that. But yeah, how's been your week?

6:17Weak has been busy, but you know, not too bad. I'm just this is the downturn of it. And we are finishing our tremendous heat wave that has been crossing through the Midwest. So I will be even more happy when that's done. Yeah, I looked at the forecast for next week, like 90 degrees here in North Carolina, which where I'm 90 degrees on Monday, then it drops down to the set mid 70s. So I was like, all right, this fake fall because I'm assuming it's fake fall, but I'll take it. Yeah, so, but yeah, weeks been good, you know, rocking and rolling, looking forward to the weekend, but yeah, works been good. Families good, all the good stuff. All right, so a little game called Wolverine on the PS5 exclusive to PS5 from the very illustrious game developer and Somnac known, you know, there's not their first dabbling with Marvel video games. We had Spider-Man, we had Spider-Man, Spider-Man Miles Riles and Spider-Man 2.

11:40So that in time they've been around for a while, but that's been their most recent ones. I remember if memory serves and Somnac was also infamous. Yes, and if in the second son, which was kind of there, it's almost like their proto, you know, their version of the superhero at that point, which again paid the way for them to getting the Spider-Man license. So sounds like you also played infamous as well. Yes, I played the first one. I played a little bit of the second one, but I did beat the first one. And for its time, like it was an amazing game. I remember just thinking like, man, if we could translate this like some of the superheroes that we love the action and the adventure with that. And then they went on to go and get that license and do so. So I mean, they've got a lot of trust with me as a studio. So, yes, so last week when we were off the first kind of, I would call it the influencer reviews and maybe full review, so-called full reviews kind of came out.

12:42And let's just say it was interesting. We had influencers and so-called reviewers basically fire bombing the game, you know, not many positive reviews. And a lot of us was like, oh no, now we hadn't played the game and full disclosure, David has been playing the game. My game come, my copy of the game comes in on Friday. So I, you know, we're going to rely on David, his kind of first initial thoughts of what he's been played. I will give my thoughts in the sense of responding to it. But also my kind of commentary on this will revolve around me as a long time gamer. And what we need to be taking from reviews itself. And where I stand as a gamer in my life. So I will say this. I think we both will say that Wolverine is definitely one of our favorite characters in not only X-Men, but Marvel. And this is a game that we were both really looking forward to. But when these reviews came out, and again, I'll keep on saying these so-called reviews, there's a lot of things and games that these influencers and some of these fly by night reviewers were basically outright lying and hiding the truth behind certain things.

13:58So, you know, we always, I will always say this when it comes to movies, books, anything like that. Reviews are reviews can help. But when it comes down to it, you need to be the best judge of what you are looking for in a game. And what you're thinking is good or bad is completely subjective as our friend of the show Ray from flight cast would say it's all subjective. If you think it's good, bad, it is a subjective opinion. But I want to turn the floor over to David since he has played the game. I want to hear his thoughts. He has not beaten the game. He does have a life. He has a job. He has kids to take care of. He has bills to pay. He at least has spent a couple of hours playing it. And, you know, we're not going to spoil things in a sense of story beats and things like that. Nothing that already hasn't put out in the public trailer-wise things like that. But let us know your thoughts, David. Yeah. You know, at your point, I'm not going to go very spoiler heavy. Anything that I talk about is anything that is readily available through trailers and stuff like that. So, because I want you all to be able to enjoy this game for yourself.

15:07But I will say that yeah, a lot of the initial influence or reviews were either in my opinion very wrong or just outright lies. This myth that the game will just play itself if you leave it there. That is an outright lie. The way that some of the animations flow and are explained like once you actually get into the game, I think that if you are a fan of Wolverine and this character, you will enjoy this. And that is where the subjective view comes in at. If you are coming into this as a fan of this character as a fan of the X-Men franchise, I think that you will have a very enjoyable time. Is it different from iterations of X-Men that we have had before? Absolutely. But that is also not a bad thing. As we've seen from trailers, they've done things differently with his teaming up with Jean Grey. They've done things differently with his association with weapon X and things like that.

16:15I believe that is okay in order to tell a story. I feel as though a lot of these initial reviews, you had one or two people who had legitimate complaints about how they felt. But I do think that some of it is based off of what they wanted to see out of the character versus actually experiencing it themselves. And then I feel like a lot of it has been just the let me get the shock value of saying that this game is only a four or five or six. It's not Spider-Man. I will say that it is not Spider-Man, but Spider-Man is such a high bar. But to me, and I was explaining it to a coworker of mine who was asking about it when we were talking today. He's just a very lapsed fan, but he was like, hey, it looks cool. He knew that I'm a Marvel fan. So he asked me if I've played it and I was giving my opinion.

17:19And I said, if you go in and judging this by if it's Spider-Man, that is like judging every Marvel movie on if it's in game. You're going to have some that are good movies that are great movies, but they're not the upper echelon. So for me, the controls are feel like a mix of a little bit of Spider-Man, like those controls are still there, but it also arcans back to the arc of games for me with the just raw beat them up bounce from person to person while surrounded. It has more of that grittiness and a little bit of the X-Men Origins game in the way that the healing works and how he bounces back from certain things. Like I said, I am a fan of the character. So I got enjoyment out of it. I got enjoyment out of the moment when he is getting beat by someone you may have taken way too many shots and not protected yourself.

18:25And then all of a sudden you have to go into this rage mode and you're starting to the more you tap the square button, the higher your rage gets, but the more healthy recover in that moment before you get your second win. I do another assault and I enjoyed that. I enjoyed having these moments where I'm in an intense I'm bouncing around I'm taking out a lot of people and then afterwards, you know, with things slow down his rage meter within decrease as his health increases. And that felt true to the character. It also for PlayStation fans gave me God of War Fields with just the peer beat them up combat. So if you were a fan of any of those games that I've just mentioned, I think that you will get enjoyment out of this. I will say the character models did take some getting used to, but also when you have a character with such deep lore, I think that always happens when I originally played Spider-Man on the PS4 unmasked Peter took a lot of getting used to.

19:39And then when they went back and they did the redesign on the remaster release, it still took some getting used to, but I grew up on Toby and then Andrew and then I was living in the Tom Holland era as this came out. So yes, it was jarring, but you get used to it and you flow to it and you adapt to this character. We have spent so much time with Jess Hugh Jackman as our best live action patrol. Everything else has been outside of a Henry Caval. Cameo, everything else has been animated. So for this being as close to real life, it is something that it takes men to get used to, but I feel like they do a good job. A lot of the other character models that people have been complaining about in these reviews. I like to fight with Omega Red. That's not a spoiler. It's in a lot of the trailers. I enjoyed that fight. People are like, oh, this is, you know, impossible here and this, it goes from being such a kiddie game that plays for you and then you get to the Omega Red fight and it just takes you out.

20:48If that's your honest opinion, I will tell you this. My 10 year old is also playing it and his exact words when I asked him how he dealt with the fight was, well, it took me a minute, but then I stopped and I learned his movements and I was able to beat him. And when you're in your 10 year old can do it, you can do it. Like it's all in what you put into it and getting your enjoyment out of it. I very much am getting enjoyment out of this game and I cannot wait to finish where the story goes. I've avoided any spoiler reviews because I'm invested in this just like I was invested in Spider-Man and Miles Morales and Spider-Man 2. I want to see where they take this story and so far. It's been pretty fun and if you have the mode to play as a rage filled five foot murderous little monster, then this is the game for you. So yes, I mean all what you're saying still does not have me any regrets of a purchasing game because as we if you haven't also been paying attention to the news when it comes to the gaming side, Sony has gone, oh, geez, see David, what a fair weather Wolverine fan lays in on when he does it.

22:02So he's not watching David has taken off the mantle of Wolverine so he cannot count himself as a fan of Wolverine. He needs to keep it on. But anyways, anyways, fact, Sony has said that they are going to be in a couple of years no longer producing any physical discs. So this is definitely the as we head down to one of the last major releases that Sony is going to be putting out here the day they said that that's going to happen David on that one, but. But I believe in 2028 and 2028 for sure we are we are going to be out of physical media. And for for those who think that the price point of this game is too much to justify. I will say like if you are a collector, this is a great time to hop in and get you know the physical edition get that Wolverine cover because again these things will be going away.

23:06Well, even you know kind of talk about the price point now matter of price point in the sense of how long it takes the game. Some people can be to game and just streamline it within, you know, X amount of time will just call it fiber, you know, seven or eight hours. I know what I've heard the range for this game is between 15 to 20 hours doing everything 100% and maybe take a closer to 30 hours. So with that understanding of mine, it all depends on how much time that you're willing to do if you have the time and the effort to beat it in a weekend that in you think, if I can beat it in a weekend, that's not worth it to me. That's fair, you know, at that point, but when people will say like a 15 to 20 hour game isn't worth it. I kind of point in equated to movie tickets these days. We've been taking these days, you know, a ticket popcorn food, all the jazz you're looking at sometimes for two people maybe sometimes for even one person almost upwards of like 30 to 40 to $50.

24:13Okay, now you're coming under $20 less than this game and that's just for two and a half hours for a game, you know, for the game at that point. So that's fine, but also you got to think of your own financial thing if you cannot afford a $70 game right now and you want to wait for a sale like one of our people in the chat saying it probably wait for a sale. That's fine. I'm not here to shame anyone on their financial decisions by any stretch of the imagination because again, you have to be financially sound of by the game. I guarantee you this game like many other newer games that come out around the holiday season. I could see this being struck down at least $20 off at least very yes at that point. And I don't regret my decision to buy it new because I enjoy being part of the conversation. B, I also work some of my stuff for my budget for the month to say like, hey, I would like to play now. Can I afford it work my budget around didn't sacrifice anything made made some changes and that is, you know, my decision as a consumer.

25:16So a financial side that's an individual decision. You want to wait to a sale. That's great. You don't want to wait for sale. That's great to that's an individual decision. But I think it's very wrong to say to just arbitrarily just say like, it's not worth it. Well, that's your personal opinion. It can't this is right enough for the whole thing. But moving that aside. It is one of those where we think about what also has said with the reviewers saying that a lot of like the blue smell or snail true or the smell trail or whatever they're saying at that point is is always is baby the game. Well, a lot of different things are accessibility features that you can turn on and off. Well, a lot of good chunk of those reviewers didn't say that didn't bring that out. Now to say those certain things are honestly on and baby in the game. That's a choice that you choose. But I don't like it how some of them were putting that out there.

26:20Also as it depends what kind of gamer you are like to say like the game mechanics are repetitive over into brawler. There's only so much that he can do if this is a solo game that he is not necessarily constantly with someone. I know he's got Jean Grey there at points. But that he is soloing this until a person comes there. He's not like with colossus all the time and things like that. It's not like X-Men Legends or Marvel Legends or anything like. Yeah, all that stuff. Ultimate Alliance. So he's a brawler. Now I know I love seeing in the trailer. You do the heat claws and things like that. Like do different cool things with that. But he's a brawler. He's got claws. He's going to punch. He's going to kick that I think it was a great comparison that you said with God of war. That is a beat him up. Now he's got different power systems like that. Maybe magical stuff. But in the end, it's a brawler game. Yeah, you can do the the Spartan kick in this game. Like there's so many different things that again, it it does have that that free flowing combat between objectives and between different adversaries.

27:28But it does at times feel like appear like I'm just brawling. I'm just slaughtering. But to me that kind of matches Wolverine. Yeah. And again, but if that if you wanted more than that, then this isn't your game. And that's okay. But to sit it. But again, to say that all these are subjective opinions. I have heard some mixed stuff on the story. That's fine. You know, again, I'll make the judge for myself. But this they never set out and never said that this was going to be an open world game. It's very clear when the first of out, this is going to be a linear idea of a game. There are things you go back with your new deal new new game plus or some challenges you have to do. That brings it out. I'm the kind of gamer one. I'm married. I got a job. I got kids. The time I get to game is 95% of the time is going to be on the weekend in the afternoon. My kids are watching some TV that they're going to be I'm going to be gaming either on my handheld or because this I don't have a handle for the PS portal at that point. I'm not investing that I've got to go down the main cave and game like that, which is fine.

28:42But I don't play on a very hard difficulty because I don't like getting punished. I don't find that fun for me. And I don't want to I there's only so much time that I want to enjoy the game. I put it on a lower setting because that makes me now do I know that I may be quicker. There may be certain things that may not be as quote unquote fun. That's the subject of opinion as well. For me, I want to be an enjoyed. I feel like, okay, this is a little too easy. I'll up the difficulty a little bit. But for me as a older gamer that has certain things there, I can only do so much. I wish I wish I could game every single night and do certain things. But the time I do get to enjoy this, I'm going to enjoy it. Now could there be a chance where I play this and say, yeah, maybe I could have waited for a sale. That may happen. And I'll be okay with that because that's that's that's just sometimes how it breaks. But the it's again, it's it's one of those things where you have to make the decision for yourself. You've heard David who has has played the game. He has said his piece on it. He has not beaten it. He has not formed his full opinion. I think when I don't, you know, David, I can talk off air to see like when we want to kind of give a full kind of spoilers review at that point.

30:04Give us some kind of timeline to see he's probably going to beat it way before I will guarantee about that. That's fine. I may get to a point where I feel comfortable revealing it. I think them if I forget to appoint saying, hey, let's review it and I haven't beaten it yet. Then we can decide kind of what we're going to do with spoilers and things like that. But I think we're going to do that. But make that decision for yourself. If you say, hey, the reviews are so so, I do have certain people I trust it say so. So I'm going to wait for a sale. Great. Thumbs up for you. You're making your choice as a consumer at that point. If you want to be part of the conversations that I love this character, I'm hearing some things that this is what's really I'm really hoping for spend it. That's what it is. So everything you said, everything you said, David, doesn't give me any kind of pause. It just gives me saying, okay, it's it's exactly what I'm expecting it to be. I will say that as the game has come out and as more non sponsored reviews are starting to come out, I am starting to see a more balanced shift in the reviews.

31:17Again, not saying that this is Spider-Man or Miles Morales or anything like that. They're trying to compare it. It's not fair. Yes, those were amazing games. But as I'm seeing like real life people talk as I'm seeing like average consumers talk, you know, it is a lot better. I'm with you. So right now I'm playing on the medium difficulty, which is called the mutant, the way that it does it is that you select the man, the hunter, the mutant, the weapon and the best there is. I most of my gaming time, especially when it comes to splint time being a father or letting my kids, you know, control the various electronics within the house. I'm either gaming at five in the morning before I get them up for school or I'm gaming at 930 at night after they go to bed. Those are like my prime time. At that time, I'm not a glutton for punishment.

32:18I want to enjoy the game. And, you know, I have a feeling that I will get through my first playthrough probably by this time next week before I go off to my concert. I can say for sure that's, you know, within two weeks, I'm going to have this beat. I'm going to have side quesit. That's what normally takes me a long time in games is I'm very side quest heavy. But yes, like I'm just booted up the game right now when you go to start a new game as a button that says view all settings and you can adjust before you ever dive into the game. Everything from his awareness to turning the lock off off to turning the chase assist off and all these various things that people were complaining makes it too easy.

33:18You can turn the quick time auto complete off all of this you do before you ever touch the game. If you will simply hit the button that says view all settings, which is right under start new game. And even before you even start the game itself like it's your first time playing it's going to greet you with that. Now there's a key thing with this called accessibility features. Many games are being this is in its tourist form. The reason these features are there are for different for people who have, you know, let's just call it like carpal tunnel. You can't do repetitive button pushing like that's that that for people that have different types of, you know, just things that they can't do these features are there to help them so that they can still enjoy the game without necessarily feeling like they're going to be in pain playing it. And so that's what those features are there for. They're there for everyone, but particularly they were created for that. And I praise them for doing things like that and some they're putting it out there.

34:26But to flip it on its head saying, oh, makes the game too easy. Those features aren't meant for you weren't created to make it easy for your normal. I can put quotes normal average regular whatever we want to call it just a person without any kind of disabilities. Handicat like whatever we want to call it. It was made to help them access the game equity. And that's what I like that they do that. So when it comes down to it, you're missing the point if you're saying it makes it too easy. That wasn't there for you, you know, you can do it. But it wasn't created for you. Yeah, I can turn on the settings or turn off the settings that will make the game the most enjoyable to me. When he broke his arm back in March, there were a couple of games where we had to change the accessibility because he couldn't rapidly hit on some triggers. So we there was a game that he was playing where we said it to continuous you hit the button and it will do a continuous reaction for so many seconds.

It may be a little longer for me, but we'll see where I'm at in two weeks.

36:58And kind of see if I'm ready to kind of fully talk about some spoilers and do that. But in an instance, I I'm going to enjoy this game. I love you all at that point. I'm not going to rush to beat it unless I feel like that inclined to do it. Because if I rush to beat it, then I'm not going to enjoy it. I'm going to play it to the point if I get to a point where I'm saying, hey, I'm ready to kind of push through this and do this. Yeah, that's one thing. But I'm going to enjoy the game. I'm going to get my quote unquote money's worth out of it. And in the end, I hope I I don't foresee this is going to be the best game ever I've played. But I want it to be the best Wolverine game. I hope it's going to be the best Wolverine game I've played that needs some of my expectations. But as our good friend Brent coin the phrase many years ago on fans of the up orders, do not let your speculation become your expectation. You know, that is a very dangerous things for us fans. 44:40And we are back. Alright, so we've got a couple of news stories that were from the previous couple of weeks. Again, as I said once, when one of these news stories came out, a single story does not make an episode. Yes. But we know if we bottled a couple of them we could talk about. So the first big news story coming out from the Hollywood Reporter, ex-Mnovi, Asa German, Nav's role of Angels, exclusive from the Hollywood Reporter, Asa German known for his roles in the superhero series Gen V in horror hit screen, is in final talks to take on the mantle of Angel in the new X-Men revival for the MCU. Much of the cast has been revealed from D23, which we have covered many times on this show. As always, Marvel has declined to comment of this story. He was among those who apparently was up for the role of Cyclops.

45:43And at this point, Kit Connor has been officially cast in that role. But Kevin Feige was very impressed enough that they offered him the part of Warren Worthington III, aka Angel. The character was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby was introduced in the very first issue of X-Men back in 1963. Among his attributes are his feathered wings on his back giving him the bill of deflite. During one of his parts of his history, Angel during the mutant massacre was named. His wings were ripped apart. And he became in order for in his deep depression was brainwashed and changed by the infamous X-Men villain of Apocalypse to become arc angel replacing his, you know, what were his feathered wings. But now metal metal wings that could you could use projectile knives that coming out of it much more deadly at that point. But as history has gone back and forth, you know, Angel has gone and had the abilities to now have his wings and to go back and forth between the personalities of being angel and then arc angel.

46:54He's had a very, very interesting history in the last 20 years. This character is Angel has appeared twice on the big screen. Ben Foster played him in X-Men in the last stand. Well, Ben Hardy played him in the 2016 X-Men Apocalypse. And it really has an angel really has had a big role in the in the live action. So we're excited to see if this casting holds to see probably a more, I want to say more than likely a bigger portrayal a longer portrayal at that point. So what do you think of this casting of Asa Germain in this role and we have had the idea of him coming into this role of angel joining the team. I think this is a good casting. I'm when he was when his name was brought up with the initial Cyclops talk. I was like, okay, I could see that I wasn't completely sold, but I could see that.

48:00And then they ended up going with Kit Connor. I did like him as Sam and Jin V. I like the boys and it's been off. So I did absolutely like him in there. And I'm hoping that angel does get a bigger role in this. He had a little bit of role in the X-Men movies where he knew him and his family were kind of the catalyst to the mutant cure and things like that. And you know, but other than the scene with him originally just popping out and spreading his wings and having that moment, he really didn't do much same thing within X-Men apocalypse like we he was there, but he wasn't a big deal. And I don't feel like they really use the horseman of apocalypse in that movie very well. They didn't do a lot of things in that movie very well, but that being one of them. And so I'm excited that for angel to get a higher profile with this.

49:07Yeah, I do like the idea of knowing the history of angel becoming eventually archangel. I will be there. I will put money on it right now that you know, it's just money that we will see archangel. It is a key part of the character. I think that would be a huge miss if they don't eventually go down that storyline with apocalypse coming into play and angel becoming archangel at one point. It it it's fair and stingy. You know, he is background coming from a very rich and prominent family of virgin prominent family having a mutant there brings in some interesting debates and kind of family dynamics with that one. So it's also very cool to see how they're going to portray it on film. And I liked asa is his portrayal in Gen V thought he was good. I have not seen screen seven at this point, but I'm down for it. It's you know, Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige's casting are very good at, you know, if they really like an actor or an actress in it, they're, they're

50:18a audition for the part they didn't go, they didn't go with a lot of times they do find another place where we've heard it throughout the history of the MCU. So hey, you know, you may have not gotten cyclists, but hey, you're still on the team. Yeah. So, yeah, so we're definitely looking forward to hearing more as we said, there's definitely some more casting that we have not officially heard yet. Rumors are about the steek is still hanging out there. We have also beast and or ice man that has also been rumored to be possibility of still being cast. So, yeah, so we will see what happens. Next up last story of the evening is Amazon and Sony way for new Spider-Man TV shows could move forward with two after the spider noir cancellation. So this story, you know, despite several years of false starts and projects.

51:20Amazon MGM studios and Sony pictures are not ready to give up on their Spider-Man television experiment just yet, even though the recently released and now unfortunately canceled Spider-Noir series has seen its time coming on. According to the anchor Sony in prime prime video are weighing four different spider you know Spider-Man universe grips with the dreamer potential moving forward with one or even two of them. The report doesn't identify which characters of the project or reveal any titles, but it does name the writers for each of the perspective series. So the four projects come from Kelvin you creator and show runner of American born Chinese Alison Tatlock writer and executive producer of on pleuribus who previously worked on better call Saul, Ben H Winters who developed tracker and previously worked on Legion and for all mankind and star city and creators. Ben Nadevi and Matt Walpert who are developing their project with one division and the marvels with Megan McDonald.

52:25So I would say that you know, let me finish this so that's surprising substantial amount of developments like considering how rocky Amazon and Sony Spider-Man TV partnership has been so far for now. Essentially all we know is that the projects themselves does not reveal which characters or titles or premises or anything about it, but that these are the ideas now. There was at one time a silk Spider-Man spider society that was supposed to be out there Cindy Moon series in 2019. Amazon formerly great green lead it in 2022 and never happened. They scrapped it in 2024 as we just said spider-Man War came and went with one season. So my initial thoughts on this David are we now have you know, this is what we always say like in pre-production or in development. In development means absolutely nothing in Hollywood. There are so many projects that are in development that never see the light of day.

53:29Yeah, in development is code for someone said yes, let's do that. Let's look into it. Now I will say this, the writers on these projects come from very great shows. Like they do have some positive predicate pedigree with American boy in Chinese. Pluribus who just want to got a lot of Emmy nods and wins better call Saul for all my kind one of my favorite shows Legion outstanding. One of it like so they do have some good talent with it. But again, Sony and live action spider-Man just does not have a positive record as of late. So it's hard for me to get any excited about this when we just went one and done for spider-Man War. Would I have liked to see a season two? Yes, am I surprised for a one and done season? No, I'm not. So after silk didn't go anywhere spider-Man War to go everywhere, all I'm thinking about is we're lucky we get one if any out of these projects.

54:37Yeah, I do not have faith that we will be getting any of these that will make it all the way down the pipeline. Did I enjoy spider-Man War? Absolutely. Was I said by his cancellation? Yes, was I surprised not so much? Nicholas Cage coming out and saying like, hey, I told a complete story. I can walk away after that. And I look back on that and go, you know what this that season did tell a good start to finish short and like, yeah, it's good to walk away on, but I don't have the confidence in Sony and any iteration making one or four of these to the finish line. Yeah, so yeah, it's like we said, it's very hard to even believe anything with Sony spider-Man live action at these days. The best thing that Sony's got going for right now with any kind of spider-Man that they aren't full control over is the animated spider-versilms and that is going to come to an end next year.

55:42You know, yes, we can say, okay, then Sony does is involve, you know, has main involvement with, you know, brand new day, but we know what's really going on there. We know what's really pulling the strings and I'm glad they have something, but it's just, it just comes off cheap. And as we kind of said, when they were putting out the live action spider-versilms, not like the image like Craven, more obvious. Madam Web, those hurt the brand not only of Sony spider-Man, but the end Marvel to like nobody outside of outside of our circles, the general audience, these Marvel and things, it's all part of the same thing. So those damage are brand and venom for what is the code of Johnson saw. The worst Marvel thought it was all under one brand. Exactly. Venom again, people say, oh my god, the video is here really yet. They still are, they still were a box office success.

56:45So the general audience still lit it, but that I, you know, it's all subjective. And we said, not my version of venom, but I can understand why it made the money it did. So yeah, just I, as we said, I do not see it's a zero to one for me. If any of this happens, zero to one. Yeah. But all right. Well, that is all the news for this week. 1:04:32I have a feeling that they will stick with their original plans. Do I think that they could, you know, start to lean into the whole. Could they could they not cross over with Spidey kind of give us hope now that you know it has had a little bit of falling off. Yes, but I do feel that if from what I am seeing of the average person and their playthroughs and if they see because PlayStation does track time play. It tracks how many people start a game, how many people finish a game, how much the average continuous time playing is if they see those numbers and those metrics hold steady for a while, then I do think that they will continue with that. I also think that yeah, they are they are going to go bigger and better on their next outing and I would not be surprised if eventually we do get once we're in the old digital age, they pull a Spiderman and release a remaster that has a little bit crisper facial expressions and some other of the nitpicky things that people have said.

1:05:46Yeah, I think what it comes down to it, it would be very interesting to see sales numbers, whatever they put out there. And I even go back to like not I would have been compared to naughty dog like the the uncharted games. One could say those were repetitive. One could say, you know, there's such a there's some people that you know you and I are, you know, we said we're going to be playing GTA when it comes out. Um, those open world games for a lot of people is just like I don't have the time to do an open world game, but if you're the kind of person who says hey that's I can buy one or two like a couple of like two or three open game open world games and that's all I need for the rest of the year. Yeah, I can understand why like, uh, I, this one GTA and the Aka right at time remake those are my last games for the year and I could probably

1:06:47probably not buy another game probably for a good part of 2027 because I'm still playing GTA and aka right at time because those are legitimately, um, and the, the, the jimmy tried to play through these. So yeah, it's one of those things where I don't think it's going to give them cold feet. I think it's, I don't know if they're just going to stick with Spidey. I think I think I would love to see a fall of a Spidey, um, as well. But I think they will take the Sony leaks really messed us up with that one. Well, all what could have been. Yeah. So, um, but yeah, I think that it's just going to be, you know, there's at the wait and see. So yeah. Yeah. But all right. So let me pull up, um, our factor of fictions for the week. So a couple of weeks ago, give me a second to pull those up.

1:07:52All right. So factor of fiction number one, uh, one of the MCU's newest X-Men will debut in Avenger Secret Wars 92% said fact 8% said fiction. Two, Kang will eventually be recast and will return in the future Marvel Project 69% said fact 31% said fiction. And number three, Daredevil Born again will end with season three 83% said fact 17% said fiction. All right. What you got for this week, David. All right. So first one is more than one character will call Doom Tony in Avengers Doomsday. Yeah. One more time. More than one character will call Doctor Doom Tony in Avengers Doomsday.

1:08:52Yeah. It depends on when and if they see him. So more than one. And the way that I saw it playing out in my head is, you know, Marvel does like their their comedic moments, even in the middle of the serious stuff. I could see, you know, someone addressing him as Tony and then another character showing up and them going, is that Tony and they're like, no, we already covered this. So like just just having one of those moments. Yeah. I mean, again, saying one is there I wouldn't say more, you know, I could I could go with it. Definitely. So I'll say yeah. Yeah. So I am with the fact I think will happen either in the same scene or very near to the same scene. I don't think it's going to be someone says at the beginning of the movie then someone else says it at the end of the like, I don't think it's going to be a spread out running theme of, hey, this looks like Tony, wink and a nod.

1:10:01I think it's going to be like all within one moment or a cluster of moments. Okay. What you got for number two. We will see the new Tichala in live action before Black Panther 3. The new live action Tichala. Yeah. I mean, I could see kind of like a ending sequence at the end of secret words, whatever world we're looking at, I could see kind of a preview of that or even he's in secret words at that point. I don't know. It'll be interesting to see how they debut. So I could see that. I want to go all the way on that one. I'm actually going to go fiction on that. I think that I think they're going to save that for Black Panther 3. I worry about introducing him too early and taking away from Shurie's time as Black Panther.

1:11:08So I'm going to say fiction. I can I see it? Yes. But I'm going to go fiction. I'm about 60, 40 on it, but I'm leaning towards fact. And I think what happened in secret wars either towards the end or as part of the setup into the next phase of movies of where they're going. Even if it is a at the end of secret wars, we have the various heroes returning to what is now their new normal and we see some interaction with Shuri and Tichala. Yeah. And your last one. And my last one is Wanda will appear in Vision Quest with new footage. I think we've done something like this before, but I don't mind if it you know we're getting closer to Vision Quest. Wanda will appear in new footage. Now newly shot footage or basically what ends up we finding out is footage that we never saw, but it was already filmed in newly shot footage.

1:12:13Newly shot footage. Okay, because that's important. Newly shot not not oh you can tell that they filmed this the same time is Wanda or anything like that like this. This was something that you know they they pulled some cut footage from somewhere else and we we never saw this interaction between her and Pietro from age of ultra no this is brand new. They brought Elizabeth Olsen to set to shoot something. Yeah, well I'm going to go with with fiction on this what I like to see it. Yes, I'm going to go fiction. I think that if there is any footage of Wanda, it's already either we have seen it before they've repurposed it or they're taking footage we never saw that was already shot to to like put it out there. I do not see them using new footage because I think would it be great. Yes, absolutely. It would definitely be the talk of the town and would be like, oh my God. You know what does this mean? I think they're saving Elizabeth Olsen back for the big screen because again that is a big screen worthy moment that would be like, oh my gosh, she's not dead.

1:13:23But for you all realize she's not going to be dead or be resurrected. She's coming back. Yes, so I'm going to cheat here. I think that she will appear. But it will be Wanda and it will be Elizabeth Olsen Olsen as Wanda, but it won't be Wanda. I think it will be like a Ralph Foner. No more like, you know, one of the A.I.s like takes the form of him. All out Loki as Captain America type deal, you know, or he will vision will be talking about Wanda and maybe Ultron produces something that is her, but we all know, okay, this isn't the character we know. This is just Vesash of Wanda. Yeah. Hey, again, it would be cool to see that happen and it would be one of those that they've definitely kept a secret. I, we haven't seen much about that out there.

1:14:28So if they somehow pull this off without any kind of, you know, leaks ahead of time, we're only a couple weeks away from it. And there has been no necessarily things I've been hearing and seeing that that points to that. So, but they've also been very good sometimes by keeping a secret. Yeah, we'll see. But all right. So we will, I will post those Sunday afternoon, so let your voices be heard with that. And as always, we conclude our episode with comic book club, Marble with our continuation in looking at the storyline from Spider-Man, the other part eight from Marvel nights Spider-Man number 21. So we last left off with Peter, Peter is dead after his fight with Morlin and one last gas to protect MJ going full spider, literally full spider and taking down Morlin with his last act of heroism. So he is dead. So this is kind of the aftermath. So talk, talk to us, David about what, what are we seeing here? What's what went on in this issue?

1:15:28So we pick up and we are following MJ through most of this issue and how she and everyone around her are dealing with the fallout. And I'll be honest as even though this in this complete series, this is the least action packed of them. This had so much heart. So we deal with MJ trying to stay strong because she knows that she has to keep a brave face for Aunt May for everyone else who's around for all the heroes. Everyone who's dealing with it. So she breaks the news. Aunt May that hey, it's, it's really done. They have Peter's body. He's upstairs on a different floor where Tony has this room set aside for moments like these and then she has to go and make a decision and there is an amazing conversation very well written between her and Tony where they are talking about hey, there are superheroes who live their life in the spotlight and some who live in the shadows, some whose identities are secret and we will be able to see.

1:16:37We want to keep them secret in order to protect their families as he put it from someone coming and taking a family member as a consolation prize. So he's explaining to her like, this is all the things that we can do. We can help disguise it. We can make it look like an accident. He can't just go missing because sometimes when people go missing their life insurance doesn't pay out and when he said the life insurance line, I did think to myself, Tony, you're a multi billionaire. I think you can cover the cost of his life insurance and make sure that you're not going to get it. Yeah, that M.J. and May are taking care of I don't think this $200,000 life insurance policy that they got to met life is really going to be doing as much as you can reach in your pockets for but mentions hey, we will need a body for that. So, you know, we have to stage the body because the types of injuries he had, you know, there's a difference between him hitting something and something hitting him.

1:17:40And so like we can make it look like his body was buried under rubble and a fire. We can do all these other things. We can manipulate the body to make it look like a car accident. All these moments that M.J. has to decide on the same night that she just watched the love of her life die like what to do next. We also get a great moment with her and Wolverine where he sees her crying and he walks up to her and he begins flirting with her and ask her out on a date like again the night of all this happening and she slaps the hell out of him, calls him a bastard walks off and Jarvis goes to kind of reprimand him and he turns to Jarvis and basically says, I know what I'm doing. She's hurt. She needs someplace to focus her anger and I just gave that to her. So instead of wallowing in the woe is me. Now she's going to be focused on how much she hates me and thinking about ways the rest of her life in order to hurt me. And I'd rather her spend her life figuring out ways to hurt me than wanting to just be done with life because Peter's not here.

1:18:47Yeah, a couple of things. When I really, you know, it's very much like Logan is the kind of person that man, he gets it more than people realize and he understands things on a deeper level whether it be he's 100, you know, over 100 years old and has seen certain things. But he is a much deeper thinker and can see through people and what they need. Then people get them credit for it. So I love that was one of my favorite scenes in there. But also I let going back to what she talked about with the discussion that Tony was having with Mary Jane about like how to do this, you know, reminds me of. And I'm one of these people and I've said it like what got me back into comics back in college was the mini series identity crisis that that series. I know the controversy with it. I know some people really hate that story for different, different, for very, very specific reasons that I understand and not trying to look past.

1:19:50But that got me back into comics because it presented heroes having this really like real world kind of problems, especially from the DC side. But I remember when, you know, not revealing too much for those that have never read it. Something happens to one of the heroes wives that that caused the heroes to reflect and it got brought up that it was after Superman supposedly died at the hands of Doomsday. That new protocols were put into place for the heroes and their families to ensure that, you know, basically they circled up and and made sure that things were, things were taken care of. So this conversation really kind of ranked her to me and say, hey, that's very much, you know, the identity crisis like that they were doing that. So I enjoyed that. I like how she's had these moments has this moment with Jessica Drew. You know, she, you have up there, you know, discussions within some of the heroes of like what they're going to do and how they're going to do this, you know, it's not an easy thing, you know, when they have a hero like Spider-Man that didn't go public with their identity.

1:21:03How do you, how do you do that and make sure that everyone's protected? But, you know, the ending where you get the, the school yard peep, the school yard kids and their teacher out there collecting things and I was like, oh, yeah, I know where this is going. And that will right before the school yard thing, we can't skip over. Um, her and Jessica are talking, oh, yeah, Tony goes up and he hears something. So he sits off an alarm and they go to where Peter's body was being kept and all you see is this husk of skin and they're, Matt, they're living Tony's like, whoever did this better prey. I don't find them first and Steve always, you know, the person that he is he's studying things and he goes, yeah. The window is completely shattered, but there's not much glass on the floor. Most of it is falling outside, you know, so that means that the window wasn't broken into by someone trying to get in. It was shattered by someone trying to get out. And that's when, you know, they start going, all right, well, we're going to check and see what's going on. So either someone very dangerous did this or there's a lot of things people don't know about spiders.

1:22:12Yeah, the husk was kind of a creepy looking thing. So yeah, we get the school yard kids going out, looking for things and the kid collects something and says found something and then there's kind of dripping like goo comes out and we see the pans out to see this kind of cocoon very much like kind of way how we saw. Not to see that kind of creepiness, but you know, in brand new day Peter waking up that in a webbing cocoon at this point. So, and you see the image from the next issue of a shadowy figure emerging from a cocoon. So yes. But yeah, so a cool kind of interlude story kind of thing. Again, as you said, not a lot of action, but a lot of great beats with it. So this was a highlight for me this week. So. But yeah, so next week, barring if we have a delay with the show or off you never know as news comes up, but next time we're on it'll be part nine amazing spider man number five 21. This will be the final part of this section of the other storyline.

1:23:16So we've got a couple more issues before we kind of a you know, it's our review and looking at as a whole, you know, how this holds up. So. But all right. So that brings volume 313 to a close. And number two, do you feel like they are riding the Sinister way from Nathanios X being in insomniac will Varene and the apocalypse way from this past season of X-Men 97. My time to shine. Hello, I call the Daniel R.P. K. Burner account. You know, you say what you want about my time to shine it, you know, throw enough darts at door, but they've gotten some things right. They've gotten some since really wrong. You can always get cover when you're an unknown scooper. Like, oh, they changed things like the other, but let's just take the questions on face value versus that coup it's coming from. Do I think more do I, you know, the idea of Sinister working for apocalypse.

1:26:39You know, the good thing about Mr. Sinister is that one is a mortal in one way, shape or form, you know, it is always got a way to move this consciousness to clone bodies, things like that. So Sinister has a very good history in the sense of connecting to other major villains, namely, apocalypse could be strife could be other things like he's always that like he can be getting main villain, but a lot of times he's also working the scenes to benefit him in some sort of way. So he's never on the only side he's on is himself, like even the Cricot era, he was already working things to find to find a way to yeah, I'm going to help out Charles and this whole Cricro thing. But and again, there's a whole storyline calls sins of Sinister where his master plan was revealed to what he was trying to do. Could I see Sinister them working that Sinister is our entry point to apocalypse absolutely. Dance your questions where Marvel is overstacking the first text from now, didn't know I don't think so because he is connected to apocalypse.

1:27:44You don't have to put apocalypse anywhere in the first one unless you just want to do it as a post crediting like a alo Thanos at the end of the Avengers movie, you know, simple as that. You don't even have to cast apocalypse they could do as simple as that or still not mention it all and just come off and then after the fact, you know, this whole big bringing in apocalypse and building to apocalypse. That's great to writing Sinister from the insomniac since I haven't played I know he's in it, but in the apocalypse wave 97. Are they writing the wave? I don't know if it's necessarily writing the wave, but I think it's like I kind of said earlier Sinister is a great entry point to other major a storylines and be major characters like apocalypse and other future villains that they can introduce. So I think that the choice for Sinister and the plan for Sinister, I think are there's a lot more there's a lot more things you can do with it that tangentially relate to other things.

1:28:52So yeah, I think those are all possibilities I'm here for it. Yeah, I wouldn't consider it right in the wave of Sinister from insomniac or apocalypse from 97, but I would say it if you're not using magneto, if you're not using, you know, your big gun X-Men wise in my opinion, then having these two recently feature people by time your movie comes out would be a good shot to be like, hey, here's some recent stuff that you can look at to kind of get out of the game. I think that's why I think it's going to get a little sense of the character. So we will have to see with that. So I will say we'll see when we see it maybe next week, maybe maybe another one where we're having to take a break just because of news, but as always, when we do see you look forward to it.
