WNBA, Players Union Push for New CBA, Aim for Monday Deal

They plan to meet for the fifth straight day on Saturday, with a real sense of urgency to seal a deal by Monday. This comes after about 50 hours of in-person negotiation since Tuesday, when the league first aimed for a handshake agreement to keep the season on track. Both sides report good movements toward what they call a transformational pact. The talks have stretched into late nights, with around 15 proposals exchanged so far. Lately, they've tackled some side issues, rather than the big sticking point of revenue sharing. League Commissioner Kathy Engelbear stressed the need to wrap things up without messing up key events like the expansion draft for new teams in. Portland and Toronto.
