Wisconsin's Mateos Pursues Elite Tackle

0:00On April 17th, Wisconsin's football squad is killing it early in the class of 2027 recruiting, especially up front on offense. New offensive line coach Erick Mateos just landed in the top four for four star offensive tackle Cameron Wagner, a beast from St. Joseph, Illinois. Wagner narrowed his list to Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Oregon, and Illinois. He turned down heavy hitters like Ohio State, Texas, A&M, and a bunch of SEC schools before getting to this point. As six foot six and 300 pounds, the kids built like a tank with quick feet and nasty run blocking that pancakes defenders left and right. Badger fans are buzzing because this could lock down their line. Wisconsin already has three offensive line commits, locked in legacy guy, Ethan McIntosh, four star Cole Reader, and three star twins Hunter and Reese, Mollinger. Adding Wagner would cap off a monster haul for the trenches. Mateos has been on fire in his first offseason, pulling in two of those commits himself.
