Willie Anderson's Kidney Transplant Success

0:00With the NFL today, March 6th, former Bengals all pro offensive lineman, Willie Anderson, just had a successful kidney transplant. The 50-year-old shared the good news in a video on social media this week. He said everything went well and his new kidney is functioning great. His longtime girlfriend stepped up as the donor, which made the whole process even more special. Anderson called her the strongest person he knows. He even tickled his feet to wake him after surgery, just like she knows he hates. He's feeling a bit sore, but his blood pressure is dropping, and overall he's doing well. Back in February, he announced the transplant after living with kidney disease for 10 years. He thanked fans and supporters for all their prayers during this tough time. Anderson had a stellar career with the Bengals, drafted 10th overall in 1996. He played 12 seasons there, starting 173 of 181 games.
