Thank you so much. You guys are good. You wanna get her out here? I wonder if you're just getting guys off that lawns, okay? Oh, my God. Why? Why are they all out of here? Why are they all out of here? I'm here with you. Hello?
No, we can't go in. We can't go in. We can't go in, okay? Why don't you just have a seat? Oh, please! Why are they all out of here? Why are they all out of here? Where is he? Where is he? Where is he? He's all out of here. He's all out of here.
You're not? Yep. My name's here. I'm with Corners office. There's a show on the screen. Listen to me, huh? You need to listen to me. We know what's going on already, okay? Is it your name, Cheryl Pope? Yes. How old are you, Cheryl? 51. And your husband? It's I, right? Tell me what happened to see. Where were you before you saw him? I came home from work. About what time? It was like 30, something like that.
I had to go make some stops. He was out in the shop. I was here. They were out working on his pan head. Where you work, Cheryl? I cannot say it. Huh? He's not there. What do you do there? I'm a teen. The patient access team lead now. 22 years. So you got home about 530, right? I got home about 530. He was in the shop. Okay. Yeah, what happened? And I've not really talked to him yesterday. We had a disagreement. He came home while I was on the porch yesterday. Took his bike and loaded off and went away. And he didn't come home to life.
I had my gun on the night stand because I was here by myself. I'm here by myself. I don't even know if we have a key to these doors. He doesn't believe in locking doors. You don't keep the store locked at all? No. Not at all. He doesn't believe in it. I don't even know where the keys are. I don't even know how to keep them out. We just got the house back from his ex-wife to the half years ago. Not even two and a half years ago. I'm sorry. I have dry mouth syndrome. My lips are sticking to my teeth. Please. Please. So we were going to talk tonight. But he stayed out of the shop.
We were disagreeing about something yesterday. That had occurred. That has occurred before. I don't know what somebody else. Somebody else involved. Not particularly. Okay. So we hadn't talked. We didn't talk. He was asleep this morning when I left for work. He was saying they had a separate room. We were in the same bed. You left at six this morning? I left at six thirty this morning. I mean, you mentioned it. I don't even know how they did. So I used to try to choose not worth so diplomatic. I tried to recount it.
It's the best I can't. Earlier we were talking about it. You got through menopause. And then you finally gotten your whole mom regulated. And then he was having some issues of his own too. Things. My drive. That I guess we felt like he picking up with. I. And to be ever having issues with like. Of saying or maintaining. Oh, you. We drank a little bit more if we would just get the pool and have our time together in the pool, but it wasn't that much. And just recently, if it got to be that way, he was talking about not doing that anymore, because any.
He did things he shouldn't when he was drinking said things he shouldn't when he was drinking. And he wasn't going to, he wasn't going to, he was going to cut back on that and not, yeah, he was figuring out how many shots he could have or how much. But just 6.37 a block is when I got in the bed, I took probably to the medicine about 6.30, because I touched my, I took my medicine and I brushed my teeth. And then I got in the bed. I take clamping and I took the thinnergan and the thinnergan I take from my migraines. And I took my progesterone, which is my hormones. And what do you take this for? The climate I take because I can't sleep through the night, and it helps me go to sleep.
I can't, I can't turn my brain off, so it helps me go to sleep. I took that and I got in the bed and I turned the TV on because I was in there by myself and when I'm by myself, I feel better with the TV. He was still out here. I fell asleep and then I heard somebody come in the door yelling and I just reached over on my night standing grab my gun because that was the only thing I need to do. I didn't know what time that was. I have no idea. So you grabbed your gun and then what? I shot twice. And I figured out it was him after I shot him and he told me I had shot him. Did you see him? The bedroom door was, no, the bedroom door was closed.
I have blackout curtains on windows, no, no, the TV was still on, but I couldn't. All the doors were closed. I have blackout curtains on windows because of my brain. I was asleep. Were you in the bed? I was in the bed. Where was he? He was in the doorway. He was standing in the doorway. He was standing in the doorway. No, it wasn't. It was closed when I went to the head. But I'm saying it was open. It was long open. And that, I mean, I didn't know what else to do. I just grabbed the gun like he's always told me to. Then what happened after that? I shot the gun twice. And the second time he said I shot him.
And I realized it was him when I heard him speak. And I grabbed the towels and tried to figure out where I shot him. I called 911 and they told me to pick the towels where it was. I couldn't see where it came out anywhere. So I left it. I put pressure on it. Like they told me to and I told me that if it got too full of blood, I could put another towel on it. So I grabbed another towel and figured on it. He was breathing. He was. He. He needed a test to. I know that he was breathing. But I told him the hurry when they got here. I told him I needed a test to because he was, it was stuck in his lung. And he was talking to me. And he was. He was talking to me when they came in. What? What? He told me to turn my hand off his back and keep putting pressure on.
Because. It hurt. The end of his back. So I took my hand off his back and I kept putting pressure on the. Oh. Oh. Is there anybody else here? No. No. It was just two of us. His son had left a while back. He. He. I heard struckly. But I was still out on the back porch and he was still up in the shop. When I got up to going into the bedroom, he was still up in the shop. He was still up there. He was still up there. He was still up there. He was still up there. He was still up there. He was still up there. And he was still up there. We have been married for four and a half years. We have only been together for six years. You know, when you all were having a disability, did you get physical? No. It was all about text message. We never even saw each other.
When's the last time that you all actually visited talk to each other? Yesterday, around. I was on my way from the rehab center at Pinewood to the Women's Imaging Center and I called him in between. So you talked on the talk and I really didn't have a lot of time to talk and said I was headed to the Women's Imaging Center which stays really busy and then I mean everything was okay when we talked. Now have there been other nights where you would go to bed before you would come to bed? No. We always went to bed together unless there was an argument we always went to bed together. So to say you all had an argument prior to this one you went to bed and you would come in right after you'd already done sleep?
It'd hurt. That or I would go to bed in the spare bed room. But have there ever been an other time where you would come in bed when you were asleep when you'd already done sleep? Only last night and I had taken my call up and I had taken cough medicine with covenants because I had a second cough, the second cover shot I had a dry cough in the middle of the night. So I took, but I didn't take that tonight. I took it last night and I was down to sleep whenever he got home. I opened this ex message this morning telling me that his bike was broke down as friends sees and he was trying to get it right. And this evening when you were sleeping bad, what won't you run? The door slamming open and yelling. What was your yelling? I don't even know who he was yelling.
I just started yelling in the door slamming. You couldn't make out his voice. It was yelling. At that time I couldn't know. Did you say anything back then? After he said that I shot him? No, he was yelling. No, I just grabbed the gun because all I heard was yelling and I was in a date. I was already in a sleep. So you didn't scream or anything like that? No. Well, I scream, but I mean, not loud. I grabbed the gun and that was the first reaction was reached over because he has to be laid on the night standing so that I could put my hand on it. Then once you realized that it was him, when he said, you shot me. That's what I knew. It was him. Because I could tell his voice.
And then what did you do after that? I jumped out of the window and tried to find where I had shot it. And I couldn't see anything. All I could see was blood. I turned the light on. I lifted his arm and that's where I saw it. And I called 911 and I grabbed towels. And I grabbed a towel and started putting it on. But it didn't see where it came out. I started putting pressure on the hall while I was talking to them. One and she said, if it got too wet to grab another towel. I went ahead and grabbed another towel and came back. What light did you turn on? The bedroom light. Switch on the wall. Did you turn that on before you melt down and look at him? He was standing up. He was standing up and I ran into him when I realized it was him.
I was looking trying to figure out where the blood was coming from. I looked at it and it wasn't coming from his chest or anywhere else. He lay down on the ground and I called 911. Yes. I called 911 and they told me what to do. And I put it on there as fast as I could and held the pressure as tight as I could. He was still talking to me when the ambulance pulled up. I had one hand on his back trying to make sure I could get as much pressure as I could and he told me to move my hand off of his back. So I made my hand off of his back and just started pushing with my hand. Did you say anything else? He said you couldn't breathe. I didn't even breathe.
I could breathe just a little bit longer. I need to ask you a fact. What specifically were you all arguing about? Was he talking about maybe the divorce? Are you talking about the divorce or did any of that stuff come up? No. Can they still move away? Yes. And this is just stuff that we gather for this. We live in an alternative lifestyle. We live in a relationship where we share other couples, other individuals. Since I started Minneapolis last summer or some of the four lasts.
And we finally got my hormones and everything straight. So before that we were in an alternate lifestyle, we were in that six months out, we were because I was in it by myself. And then he was in it by himself. And when we got together we decided that for at least first six months that we would spend our time focusing on our relationship. During that time, I donated to Kidney. I was healing from that to the security director. So we got, you know, got through my healing from that November, December. I went back to work in January.
And he asked me to marry him on my birthday in April. We were in a rental house because his ex-wife had this house. We were in a rental house and we moved into that rental house together. And that's where we got married. So after that, you all spent your six months or whatever, then you all finished well. No, no, no, no, we just went into the lifestyle. So the argument, we went back into the lifestyle.
So the argument was over. One of y'all want to do that. One of the people were two left. No, Monday, I decided that since we've been into an open marriage, not the lifestyle, but an open marriage. So he would see other people, I would see other people. Monday, we got into an argument about an asset. Let's just don't do this anymore. Ever since we started the open marriage, it's been an issue. And everything's okay Monday night. He sent a message to the women that he was talking to the friends of ours that he was talking to and told them. One of that we decided that that wasn't a good idea. And then he, on Tuesday, on Tuesday morning, we talked about it some more.
And we decided we would try it again. So I sent a message to the two women that he had sent a message to apologizing to them and telling them that it was just. He was naked. You know why he was naked? Probably because he got graced all over his clothes and took them off in the laundry room. Was he wet or anything? Was his hair wet? Sweaty. When I got to him, it was sweaty. But I couldn't, I couldn't tell that when I. Is it a porch light or something that we could turn on? Is it really bright? Is it really bright? Yeah. For a few minutes, the bugs will probably eat us up. It's like it like.
So do you know why? I mean, why there would be some water or something on your side? Why would it be wet? Do you know it? Because I'm not covered with water. Is there water on the sand? Yes. Okay. So there'll be a cup in there. There should be. Okay. All right. That's why the bed's wet. Yes. I was wet. So. Sure. Sure. Yeah. So basically breaking up off. Okay. The discussion was they were in this book about. He was more comfortable about. He was more comfortable sharing that with other people. And he was also. And he was. In that type of a relationship also. She wanted that share that. Never light a handle.
But every argument that we've had. Has been about that. Like was he upset because you were with? I guess men. I'm busy getting jealous. That. I wasn't the other way around. I mean. It was more about. You wanted to be more private. Correct. Correct. Right. And that's what we had addressed several times. And he was working on keeping his mouth shut and not sharing things. He would drink too much. And then he would talk about things. And. He was. He was supposed to be working on that. He would. He would talk about. I would try to share. Just an everyday conversation with him. I'm sorry. I would try to share just an everyday conversation with him. And then I would find out that he turned around and it would say something to the person that.
I told him I was going to do it and share that conversation. It's as if it's a wine stew, which you're. But not everybody wants everything shared. And he was supposed to be working on not doing that back. So last night. Did you have a drink. Last night. I had a cat the morning tonight. And your body. And you're on the routine. What's bad? He came in here and come in. I mean, I was, I had taken it probably, I probably got, it was still daylight when I got in bed last night because I was just like, yeah, I'm here by myself, there's nothing, nobody taught to, nothing to do. I'm just going to take my medicine, go to bed because I've got to be at work early this morning in the morning and I sit by medicine, turn the TV on so I'd have some kind of experience and gotten to bed.
Does he normally on the bed, no pose on him? Yes, we sleep with no pose on him. All right, so you say that you can just pose off on him? Yes, I would have soon. So, I have the pose he wear on to. What was he wearing today? I have no, I don't know, you don't know what you had on him. He always wears the, his work khakis. But I don't know what shirt he had on or anything like that because I didn't see him. He was in the shop when I got home and he was still in the shop when I went to bed. When you were in the bad position, did you ever go to bed? No. When did you go to bed? When I knew 911 was coming. I was holding that on him and putting clothes on at the same time. The chair in there, but that's where I always put my clothes when I take them off to get to bed. Did you touch him before you got to close?
I'm sure I did because I was trying to figure out where the blood was coming from. And then while I was on the phone with 911, I was like, with one hand. And now I've never had a couple days before the day. Because I told him I looked at him, just his whole demeanor during the day was not. And so I said, you're here. I said, but you're not here. He's dead. He's off now. I was like, you know, something else. And you know, he acknowledged that something was out of us. But he didn't want to talk about it. So we just looked at it down and continued. But I mean, we've been working on that. Come on. I was like, you know, for going on the bike a little bit. It's all that cool. Let's go. Before you go on it. When she gets home, you know, that was my cute balance. Been hanging out all day. You know, I had some airs around there. They ain't got a store like they did. So we've been hanging out probably. We probably got to around for about five.
Hang out for about an hour. So he's quite rolled around, letting him up on. Oh, okay. I'm gonna go. She rolled up. And she was in the refrigerator in the garage. And I told her that I said, I said, I live in the bottle while I turn you on the camera. I said, I couldn't find a chocolate. I said, you know, I'm putting it back in the freezer for me. And she said, you know, okay. And then I just, you know, see you. I walked off and told him by. And then I got in the truck, probably around six or five. So he came. Okay. I'm like. Okay. So. And I was aware of all that, you know, we were all. Open. You know, whatever. I wasn't a problem. So, you know, I know about how it's situation. I'm what was going on. But from what I understand. I mean, as you, as you probably seen from the phone, there was. Some conversations and some tastes and some copy and paste and messages.
Why didn't the church have that? Why do you copy and paste that? You know, between immature. You probably say. Well, I hadn't went through their phone yet. I have not done that yet. I did pull all their Facebook stuff. And I've seen some, some talk of that kind of stuff in their Facebook. Some parries and stuff that they had went to. I've seen stuff like that. Well, the long story short. And I don't know the latest. The other people. But long story short, Cheryl. Had. Or no, Luke. I had this wonder. I wanted to see. And Cheryl never liked her from the joke. She was always kind of lying. That's when I said, no good. Well, he decided. Somehow. That's what he was doing. And so she decided that she was going to book her. An appointment or whatever. He wanted to call that third day.
Well, then wound up. Double booking to see two people on the same day. And told him, well, I just came to see both of them in the same day. And then so they didn't talk for a couple of days. And then. I think. And then Luke was like, okay. You know, just sit down and talk. You know, when did the. When did the result of this? Like adults, you know. And I think that's what they were supposed to be doing that afternoon. So. Yeah, I didn't know that. It was kind of one day. Cheryl wanted to address the problem. And your dad didn't. He chose to go ride. And then the next day he wanted to address the problem. And she didn't necessarily want to address it. And then that was the day that. Everything. Everything. I don't like certain people. I'm sure. They never said a crossword to me. Always been helpful. Never had a problem. But.
I will tell you when when I told her about the bottle being out of the freezer. The looks she kind of gave me. I was kind of. She didn't say. She never said anything. She acknowledges you heard me. She never said anything. Which I thought was a little off. But. I mean, I don't know. So he was. He had turned around and come back in the in the doorway. Turned around. From the kitchen door. From the doorway. I'm still in this area right here. Okay, so you had already fired the first shot. Correct. A fire the first shot. Okay. And then. Then. He started moving back. Like he was. Coming back in there to drag me out of there. So I fired the second shot.
And I was. Trying to shoot the wall. I was never trying to shoot him. And that's when he said I hate him. I had no idea what. Where I. Where I could have hit him. Where you standing or were you still in the bed when you're. When you're firing around. By the time. By the time I shot the second one, I was standing. Okay. Where we. If. If your bed. Is there. Right. Where were you standing on the right. Right here. All right. So when you fired the first shot. When you fired that shot. When you fired that shot. When you fired that shot. It was going after something. And I don't know what he was going after.
Did he say anything to you? And he was mad. And he was screaming. And yelling at me. And telling me. Nothing. Those things like that. I wanted to get up and talk. That point I wasn't aware I could get up and talk. I. I. I. I. I got in past that point. I was, it was senseless for us to talk at that point. And I was feeling nauseous as much again. And he wasn't having it, and he was dragging me out the bed. I got in the bed, and the moderator finished the last plan for the trash can in the kitchen, and went and brushed my teeth and took my medicine and turned on my heating pad and got in bed.
Because I was already starting to get a migraine from being upset and very keen to adjust. So when he came on the floor open, what did he specifically say? Get up. He's trying to get up. Did you turn the light on when he came in? No. You never turn the light on. The light didn't get turned on until I turned it on to try and find where I think it had hit them. Now, when I spoke to earlier, I'd asked you, remember I asked you if you guys were ever physical with each other. If you ever put his hands on you, at that point he told me. I hate not of anger. Okay, what do you mean by that?
He gets turned on and very aggressive when he gets turned on. So I've gotten used to it. It's not a big deal anymore, but he likes to make marks on the bed. You physically get on the bed or get on top of you? He did not get up on top of me. He ripped the pillow out from the toy my legs and started to pull me out of the bed. So if I wasn't going to get up, that I was going to get up and get up the other bed. And how did he make it?
If he came in and you're laying down and these ashes are filled between the bed. How did we get from that to him being back for the bedroom and you standing on that mat shootin' on? I had that distance. He went back out of the bed room to go get something else and then it was on his way back into the bedroom. Is that when the door was so long open when he came in the room the second time? The door was so long when he came in the room the first time. So how did he come in the second time? He came stomping in the second time. And that's when I grabbed it and shot over here. And he became more angered and aggressive.
So I shot for this way. I was trying to hit the wall behind this evening. I had no idea that it was that close to him. I was just trying to hit the wall behind the TV so that it would scare him off or make him lean. Now you've listened. Now go to your thing.
