About this episode
“Any doctor who wants to give you more medicine and more drugs is not a good doctor. Your doctor should always be trying to get you off of medications, not on more of them.”From the transcript
Dr. Jeremy D. Kobler believes health care should help people become less dependent on treatment, not keep them coming back for more. After a nontraditional path through college, fatherhood, multiple careers, and years of clinical training, he builds Kobler Chiropractic and Acupuncture around a different vision of preventive wellness. In this conversation, he challenges the “sick care” model, explains why patients often wait until pain becomes unbearable, and explores chiropractic care, acupuncture, nutrition, and holistic aesthetics. But what does taking ownership of your health actually require, and how can people separate meaningful change from clever marketing? Kobler shares the philosophy driving his growing practice and the choices shaping the legacy he wants to build.
Key Takeaways
• Taking ownership of personal health starts with making informed, intentional choices instead of waiting for a crisis.
• Preventive wellness can begin before pain becomes severe enough to disrupt everyday life.
• Kobler sees chiropractic care and acupuncture as complementary approaches within his broader philosophy of wellness.
• Building his practice means expanding beyond pain care into nutrition, recovery, and non-surgical aesthetics.
• His business philosophy is rooted in personally using and understanding the services he recommends to patients.

Living Your Legacy — Why This Chiropractor Rejects the “Sick Care” Model. Machine-transcribed; use the interactive transcript above to jump the player to any line.
I'm super against pharmaceuticals. Any doctor who wants to give you more medicine and more drugs is not a good doctor. Your doctor should always be trying to get you off of medications, not on more of them. Anything I can do to help people put less pills in their mouth on doing what I need to do. Dr. Jeremy Kobler is a dedicated chiropractor, entrepreneur and the founder of Kobler Chiropractic. Drawing from his diverse journey and passion for preventive wellness, he empowers people to make informed choices and take greater ownership of their health. We are also starting to include aesthetics into our services. It's all holistic base versus shooting up Botox and fillers and things like that. We use radio frequency and ultrasound and things like that to help clear out people's faces. Making pretty and keeping feeling good on the inside, outside. When you crack your back and you hear all that cracking noise, what's that doing? The sound is nothing. People do get to where they expect to hear that and they don't hear if they think, oh, nothing happened. What you're really doing is you're helping the nervous system function better.
It spans the globe like a super high school. Internet Elvis. Ready? Today, Apple is going to reinvent the bomb. It's not over until I wear it. You said Paul is the boss is not on the planet. You can live your dream. Hey, welcome back everyone to another episode of Living Your Legacy Podcast. I'm your host again, Jason Langen. We're down here at the Sunny Miami Beach studios where we got the privilege to talk to some of the best entrepreneurs from around the country. Disruptors, the experts and the legacy makers like we have here today. We got a special guest and he's in his great Nike he airs and he's got his awesome t-shirt here Roy Ken.
Why don't you introduce yourself. What's the name? Where you from and what's your business? I'm Dr. Jeremy D. Cobler. I'm a doctor of chiropractic. I live in Kansas City, Missouri. I'm from Kansas originally. We have chiropractic and acupuncture clinics. We're also starting to include aesthetics into our services. It's all holistic base versus shooting up Botox and fillers and things like that. We use radio frequency and ultrasound and things like that to help clear up people's faces. We're pretty and keeping feeling good on the inside, you know outside, keep the body pains and things like that going away and they feel good all over. Amazing. I mean, it's the top shot. Perfect. It looks like you use your own service here because you look like you're super happy and feeling great and looking good, man. We just got that equipment pretty recently. So, yes, we've been practicing on each other and each other. I want to always be, you know, I want you to use the things that I recommend to people. I don't ever like recommend something.
You should preach. Exactly. And I haven't used it. I don't want to tell people who use it if I haven't done so myself. So you started off chiropractic. Is that what you said? Correct. Yeah. So, you know, I mean, as a guy, I'm tall, but I got a long back, right? And so, yeah, I got a lot of like, you know, I guess in the algorithm on social media, a lot of these back popping kind of videos hit me. Yeah, sure. Can you crack a good back? I'm the best, Mary. I have not yet had a chiropractic session, but you should have changed your life. Oh my god, man. It looks scary because they're kind of like pop. They're like, oh, yeah, hold it. Hold it. Yeah, hold them. Because Arnold makes it look too easy in the movies. It's a snap to track. I mean, it's not. And so, yeah, I think people get a little weird about that because of the sounds and they see videos online or whatever else. But yeah, it's really what's that? When you crack your back, right? And you hear all that cracking noise, right?
What's that doing? Why is that so relieved? So all the sound is as nitric oxide gas releasing from the joint capsules. You actually can reproduce that sound every nine to ten minutes, theoretically. Okay. So the sound is nothing, really. I mean, it's not it is part of the adjustment, but just because it happens, not because it's an important part of the adjustment. Now, people do get to where they expect to hear that and that they don't hear it, they think, oh, nothing happened. Yeah. What you're really doing is you're helping the nervous system function better. So people always think about, oh, it's back pain, things like that. But what we're really trying to achieve is to get the nervous system functions optimally as it possibly can. Just happens to be all your nerves come through your spine first, so your brain stem. And so the better function that is, you know, of course it goes through the spine. So we have to spinal function to be as optimal as possible. Yeah. Because then it leads to the optimum nervous system function. And then the rest of your body works better, your immune system works better. That's why I say, you know, you get an immune system of boosting adjustment, things like that. And that's why because it's helping you to notice. So it's about the alignment and the adjustment, not the cracking.
And it just happens to be that it helps get rid of pain and things like that. Yeah. Because the nerves are what's causing, you know, signaling the pain signals and whatnot. Gotcha. So the next thing that they're getting is like you see on Instagram or whatever. The horse chiropractor. Oh man, right. So they're going to these giant horses and then they're lining them up and then pop crack crack crack. Right. It's crazy like with the race horses and stuff like that. Yeah. And so for race horses, the alignment is going to make them run faster, performing better. Yeah. And that's the same with people also. And I've even seen cases where they'll have a lame mare, you know, in the field or whatever that they can't do anything with anymore. But then they get a chiropractor come out there and adjust them and it fixes everything and they're able to, you know, use the horse again and the horse is able to function normally again. Have you ever been called out to the horse racing? I have not. I'm not yet. I'm not one for the animal chiro's, but it's very important for your pets. No, I'm not standing behind a horse and then all of a sudden doing some crazy moving crack crack crack. You know, but hey, there are some in the early Kansas City.
So they're all refer them to them. Yeah. And then now you're offering all these other services, right? What go through the list because there was a lot. And so acupuncture is one of the main ones. I actually learned everything from Dr. Richard Yenny, who was actually called the Godfather of chiropractic acupuncture. Okay. So he was credited with bringing. So not just acupuncture, but like chiropractic acupuncture. Yes. Okay. Now they go hand in hand so well because you know, there's acupressure and different things like that. So when we're adjusting the spine, we are stimulating acupuncture points as well, specifically the bladder. We're in. And so you are stimulating those things and there's a million reasons, you know, why all these things are working and happening together. And for me personally, I feel like you get so much better if you do both together versus doing them separately. They're both very, you know, they work very well individually, but together. I mean, yeah. So like peanut butter and chili, it tastes better together. Yeah. You gotta do them both and you get more.
It's like gin and tonic. Yeah. Yeah. You get through it faster, you recover faster and things like that. So it really helps, especially athletes and whatnot. And it's not just, you know, you're older people with back pain, things like that. I mean, what I really strive to get people to understand it as the nervous system function aspect. You don't have to be in pain to enjoy the functions and the benefits of chiropractic care. Yeah. You just have to be alive. You have to have a spine and you know, you know, get benefits and you get. You're not being pained to go have a good massage, right? Typically people wait till they're in pain or agonizing pain and where they're last stop, you know, and things like that. But then they always turn around and be like, man, I wish I would have came here sooner, almost always they say that. Yeah. Do you have any like kind of preventative measures stuff that I don't know is like maybe you see that it's common issues all the time. And maybe if they just had adhered to some certain, I don't know, stretches or whatever they could have avoided the whole thing. Oh, yeah, yoga to yoga. I mean, if the people got people did yoga and got adjusted, we'd be in a much healthier country.
I mean, just in general, and they wouldn't have to take these pills for everything for, you know, going to the doctor, get a pain med all the time, stuff like that. I'm super against pharmaceuticals and so. Yeah. Anything I can do to help people put less pills in their mouth on doing what I need to do. Great. So yeah, so you've got this kind of whole holistic approach to chiropractic chiropractic chiropractic chiropractic medicine, right? And thank you for the education on that. But what else you got? So now you're going to get to like skincare, right? Yeah, we're doing skin or juvenile. BTO is the name of the name. Is this the first time you're kind of veering off the chiropractic? Yes, it is. We've started a new, I open a new clinic and a different part of the city. And so this equipment goes very well with the demographic area of that. We're also seeing professional athletes and things like that in our new clinic. Yep. And that demographic is what? Well, they have more money that's been on these sorts of things. There you go. More concern with their physical appearance and their getting Botox and face lifts and fillers and all those things.
So we want to be able to provide them a good service without having to, like I said, inject poison in their face and go under the knife. No one wants to go under the knife. So if we can do something that is more effective, cost less, last longer and is less painful, why wouldn't you go come to us for that rather than getting, you know, killers and Botox and one more. Yeah. And I guess for the different ages, right? It's not just like, okay, when you're old, you go get your injections or you start doing it when you start seeing the wrinkles, right? But there's like a whole routine that you can do, like in your 20s, right? And then your 30s, your 40s, 50s, right? So it's almost like also with the mindset of the, of the next just younger generation, right? They're not spending their money on, on booze and parties anymore, right? Yeah, they're actually this generation drinks muscle, much less than before. Correct. And so even that demographic, oh, they got more money or they might just be spending their money on different things. Because right, we are living in an era where information's coming at us.
And now they have the right to choose, hey, it's not just like socializing and partying and who got the most F-Dup last Friday, right? When everybody's online, so they want to look good because they want everyone else to find them and see them and discover them and things like that. So you want to be seen and look your best physically and, you know, aesthetically as well. So what do you feel about this whole kind of look-maxing kind of movement? Is that where the guy was like chiseling his own jaw and stuff like that? Yes, I think that's a little stupid, but yeah. Well, he would try things, I mean. Well, there's a whole spectrum, you know, it's not, that was like on the extreme part, right? Yeah. But there's also like, you know, kind of them experimenting with microdosing on this and that or whatever the different like TRTs and whatever it is, right? It's not my specialty, right? Sure. But it is out there and they're kind of saying, okay, well, what works for one person is not the same that's going to work for another person, right? In terms of quantities, in terms of when to start in aging, right?
So yeah, they're saying, you know, one pill for someone might be a quarter of a pill for another person. Correct. Right. So have you heard about this movement at all? I've seen some of it and like we have a lot of first responder patients and things like that. And I've had plenty of them ask me about TRT and things like that. My typical response is, well, if your body's making enough of it on its own, do not start doing something else because it's going to make your body stop producing it on its own. And that's why I love about our aesthetic products is what it's doing is making your body reproduces thing itself. So you're stimulating the cells and things in your own face that makes your body produce it itself versus injecting something into it. Anytime you have to inject something foreign in there, your body may respond negatively to it. You don't know, I mean, especially like with pharmaceuticals and things like that. Yeah. You use a cookie cutter method for one size fits all and it's just not the case. It's not how no one knows two people respond the exact same way to anything that they're ingesting as just the way our biology is. Gotcha.
Yeah, the one thing might be too much for somebody or not enough for somebody. They may not get any results from an assistive waste of the time and money or it could be in dangerous levels where they're, you know, putting their own lives in danger because they're taking too much ever. They don't know how to put it in there with the other thing or combining things and you never know what the biological effects of combining more than one foreign substance injected into you. So that can get real dangerous real quick, especially without supervision of somebody that really knows what they're doing. Of course, of course. You don't want just people taking syringes or happen. Poking themselves right. Yeah, because honestly, you put it somewhere, but it's going to react another place, right? So honestly, you need training. Don't do this at home, right? Yeah, and it's funny bringing up where like the fillers don't stay where they're up never had filler. So you know this, I'm going off of what other people told me they don't stay put. So like it starts to go down or like Botox, for example, at some point your muscles and your face are going to atrophy and they're just going to die. So then what you're going to look like your face is melting off or what's happening?
Well, we have yet to see that. It's not like you know 30 or whatever. Yeah. So I don't know. Yeah. Well, we've yet to see that because it's all just in the past couple of decades. It's infants, right? So if someone that I guess we'll see it soon, it was been getting Botox in their 20s, right? Right. Now they're getting Botox in their 20s. It's like unbelievable, right? Yeah, it's preventing wrinkles. I mean, you sure wrinkles. Sort of, but your face doesn't have any expression to it or anything either. So what are you trading it for? So when you talk about the injectables that are foreign objects, right? Right. Does that also include injectables that are like your own fat? Like what are your thoughts on that? Where's that line for you? I think if they're using your own stem cells and things like that, at least your body's not going to probably have the negative reaction to it. So if it's something else, your body's going to see as a foreign invader, just like a virus, your bacteria or something. So your immune system may attack that. Or if it becomes part of your DNA somehow, depending on what's injected, that's when you get autoimmune diseases. And your own immune system starts attacking your bodies because you injected something foreign
and their vaccines do that. Yeah. That's why they are dangerous and they shouldn't be a cookie cutter. If you're going to use them, you should know exactly how much what to use and things like that. So that's the big part of it is that you can't use one size fits all for everybody. Gotcha. Yeah, awesome. So yeah, I mean a lot of those things, they're like producing the things that the body produces, like collagen. Everyone's talking about collagen these days. It's hyaluronic acid. That's what I always say. That's what I always say. I mean, drinking it in the morning, whatever, that's like the main thing for everyone, right? We have a new product also that we have been distributing to our patients. It's from Isagenix, but it's Maureenga. And so it has a lot of superfoods and things like that. And it basically replaces all your supplements, but it has a lot of really great stuff in it. And it's just like a mix that you take in the morning. Okay. If you're interested in that, get ahold of us. And we're one of the only ways you can get it. You have to get it from, you know, your doc. You can't just go on that and get it. Gotcha. It's talking to me a little bit more about that. I haven't heard about it. Where's the cells that come from? And they don't like me to say it's like AG1 just because it's not, it's not the same product, but it comes in the similar pouch.
So you can just dump it in your green and green fluid. That's on all the YouTube channel. Yeah. Yeah. Of influencers saying, oh. We use AG1. I do like this stuff, our stuff better because Meringue is a superfood. I forget where and Africa and continent have actually come from. But the place that we get it from, they have their own farms. They grow it themselves. They know it's sourced and then, you know, the best possible place. They can get it. So organically sourced stuff like that. She don't have to worry about chemicals being dumped all over like in this country. Yeah. So our government, let's companies dump whatever chemicals they want on our food and then act like they don't know why we're all sick. Yeah. Well, this kind of thing that this supplement can help you get out of that sickness and get out of the sick care model and start getting to the health care model again. Yeah. So that's why I really push that because I know that it's safer and it's a good alternative to, I mean, have to buy them as people take, you know, in GNC or Walmart or whatever. You're just literally pissing them away because your body is not absorbing them.
So if you're available, they're just worthless to your body. Okay. And so this stuff is very good because it is something your body can absorb. It does have all the micronutrients in there and all the different things that people don't always think about to take. Yeah. Especially, you know, if you have a low salt diet, things like that, your body needs sodium to live. It has to have it to do certain functions. So if you're not getting enough salt, your body's not going to function correctly and people don't ever think about that thing. That's sort of thing because most tend to medical doctor doesn't tell them that sort of thing. They just think, oh, I can't have salt to anything. No, it's not really true. But if you eat processed foods, there's more than enough salt in there anyways and sugar and all the other crappy don't want to eat. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's just how are you getting it? Yes, exactly. Well, it's been amazing to talk to you. I do ask everyone real quick, like, what are you most excited about? Either, you know, what's at the forefront of your industry or maybe you've got some projects cooking on in the background? What's going on? I'm really excited about Robert F. Kennedy Jr. doing what he's doing.
I know a lot of people demonizing or hating or associating with Trump. I don't like Trump. I don't like Biden. I don't like politics. I don't like the political system that we're in. But this man, regardless of what you've been told, mostly lies or what you've been told, he's trying to do the best that he can for the people of this nation. Just like his father did and just like his uncle did. And so I think that our profession is probably the best place it could possibly be in human history because we are the kind of providers who seek to give people less medications, get them off medications. And that's something else too. If you're going to a doctor, just want to prescribe you more. They're not a good doctor. Any doctor who wants to give you more medicine and more drugs is not a good doctor. Your doctor should always be trying to get you off of medications, not on more of them. Yeah. And unfortunately our healthcare system now is just overrun by the pharmaceutical industry. And so the colleges teach nothing but how to prescribe drugs. They don't teach nutrition. Chiropractors get tons of nutrition training in our program.
And so we do know how to help these people lose weight without the GLP ones. If they don't have any idea what they're going to do in the future. Like, how badly is going to affect where are they starting to see the side effects and lawsuits from it? And so finding someone like us or like myself who knows how to do the proper things and eat less processed foods and get organic foods. People, oh, organic so expensive. Well, not if you know where to look. Yeah. Not if you know where your farmer's markets are. Or even Costco has a really great organic selection of food. All these has a great organic selection. I don't want to have them Florida. But these are places you can find in the Midwest. So there are lots of options. And he's trying to get people to see that. And I would love to be right there next to him helping him do that. And so I think it's a really great place that he's at the least brought this stuff to our attention. I don't know if most of the world just thinks that everything that is produced is, you know, FDA approved. So it must be okay. Well, it's not there is corrupt as any other government. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, honestly, we have to come put trust in guys like you that actually care, right?
Right. Because you're helping because not everyone has time for everything, right? No. Even when you look at the labels, right? Because you know, sometimes I go down the rabbit hole of some of these influencers. Yeah. And the things that they're pointing out on the labels are just like, oh my god. Is there a single ingredient in anything we eat that's okay for us? Right. And you probably heard if you can't pronounce it, don't eat it. I mean, that's absolute truth. Because if you can't pronounce it's probably made out of some kind of man made chemical. Not anything that's naturally occurring in nature. Yeah. Actually, one of the things that people ask me, you know, like I've been in O-Math, I've lived in several countries. Oh, right. Yeah. For many, many years, this is just the recent location that I met. But people ask me like, oh, what's American food, right? And I'm like, American food is corporate food, right? It's just crap. Yeah. So anyways, it's been a pleasure to have you. We're about to hop into our episode where we're going to shoot and dive deep into your story and learn more about your business and everything. And I can't wait to get into it, man.
Sounds good. All right. And for you guys, yeah, legacy makers, you know, people that have just had incredible business and leaving a legacy for not just their children, but also for the people out there and their expertise and their knowledge in the fields. And so if, yeah, if you want to learn more about the chiropractic medicine, but also the health food industry and everything that, amazing that he's had to say, tune into his episode when it launches. And we can't wait to see you there. Cheers, everyone.
