Why Shell Wants To Sell

About this episode

In 2012, Shell received a $1.65 billion dollar tax credit from Pennsylvania for their plastics plant in Beaver County. Along with state lawmakers, Shell promised that this facility would bring thousands of jobs to the region and revitalize the local economy — but less than three years after opening the plant, the company's already trying to sell it off. Inside Climate News reporter Kiley Bense joins host Megan Harris to explain why Shell already wants out, and why one analyst called this project "a terrible investment of taxpayer money."  Learn more about the sponsors of this September 10th episode: Fulton Commons AIDS Free Pittsburgh Huel - Get 15% off with code PITTSBURGH Become a member of City Cast Pittsburgh at membership.citycast.fm.
