Goggins says getting civilized is the worst thing that can happen to a person. Not failure. Not pain. Comfort.
The version of him that can handle anything? He built that. It wasn't there at birth. And when comfort creeps in, that guy starts to die.
He runs every morning not because he loves it. Because he hates it. An hour and a half before the gym, every day, because doing something hard before the world attacks you is how armor gets built.
He's been stretching two to three hours a night for five and a half years. Missed two days. That's not obsession. That's the direct result of a childhood spent in fear, a body clenched tight from stress, and a psoas muscle that almost shut him down for good.
He lives at 90 to 99 percent of his potential. Says 100 is dead.
Most people are at 40.
