Why Did Everyone See Something Different? | Real Ghost Stories CLASSIC

About this episode

It was just the house she grew up in. Nothing about it stood out in a way that would make you question it at first. It was familiar, lived in, the kind of place where life just happened around you without much thought.

But the longer they lived there, the harder it became to ignore one detail. No one was experiencing the same thing.

What she saw didn’t match what her parents described. What her parents saw didn’t line up with anything else. Even the dog reacted to something in the house that no one could explain—and always in the same direction.

It wasn’t just that something was there. It was that whatever it was didn’t seem to appear the same way twice.

And somehow, that made it harder to understand what they were actually living with.

Let's go over to our first caller here today and here at GoStory. Hi. Hi, my name is Brittany from West Virginia. I have a story about actually three stories that go along with a parent's hon of house. When I was about eight years old, I was laying in my room, just about to go to sleep. And I saw this figure lay down in bed beside me. The pillow had the indentation where it would be. I saw her face, her blue-plant hair, everything. She lay down right beside me, and I'm staring right at me. So I asked her if she was going to hurt us. And she shook her head like she was saying no. And then next thing I know, she just went away. I never did see her face again after that.

But for the longest time, we had our green horn would look over in the direction of my bedroom. And towards the other side of the house where you'd go upstairs to the attic, which I would never go up there by myself. I was always scared to death that someone was up there. Our dog, though, he would look in that direction. And just stare. He'd sit there, and he'd stare. And then every once in a while, he would start to bark. So he would go and look. So if anything was over there, he could possibly see. And there was never anything there. I know a lot of times, like our dogs would just bark at anything. Like, thank they see a bird or another dog or something outside, and they'd start barking. But this was very specific, and it would happen every so often, you know, her night, he would just walk over there

and sit and just stare and start to bark. He did that up until he passed away. He was 14 years old, and he did that from the time he was a puppy until he was an older dog. Another kind of freaky aspect about the stories. My parents actually built on to their house. They built a large master suite and a large record off to the side. And we thought for sure, you know, nothing would happen on that side of the house. Maybe that everything was just happening on the older side. But we were kind of wrong about that. My dad told me multiple times he would see the same images at home. He said that the master had a bed, and he'd be getting ready to go to sleep. And he would see the family on fire down

at the foot of the bed. He said it would scare the crap out of them, and he wouldn't get up. He would just say they're under the covers, and he would wake my mom up to see if she could see the same thing, and my mom never did see the family. He said it was a mom and a dad and a small child. He could tell if it was a little girl or a little boy, but he said multiple times that he had seen them, just stand in there at the foot of the bed. And he said, flying all around them, and they're just standing there. I have removed nothing. So just stand there and stare at him. And he says he eventually just falls asleep, and he doesn't see him anymore. And then another time, he told us one morning, while we were eating breakfast together, that he had seen a little girl, not the same girl as before, with the burning family, but a separate occasion, a little girl

was standing at the foot of the bed, and she started the walk over to his side of the bed. And he said that she just, once again, just stared at him and never moved, or just just kept staring at him and staring at him. And he said that that one scared him the most, and he actually jumped while he was in bed. And it was my mom up, and she saw the little girl as well. I'm not quite sure how many times they actually saw the little girl at the bed, but my dad saw the family multiple times. He said that they'd never make a sound, and never speak, or anything like that, but he would always just stare at him and stare at him. They're still convinced that their health, excuse me, is not on it. That instance with me was seeing the older lady. I was eight years old, and now I'm still to this day.

I'm 27 now, and I'm still totally creeped out by their house. I definitely, I definitely feel that something's there. The family before, they said that we were told that no one had passed away in the house. My parents were really nervous about that. That was their first house that they purchased, and it turned into their forever home. So when they bought it, they asked to make sure that no one had passed away in the house. And I guess, and later on, we found out that the realtor had lied to us that there was an older man that had passed away, but I'm convinced that the wife did, because I've seen her many times. Thoughts on that. Okay, so after all of that, did she really say at the end, did you hear that? That she thought her parents thought their house is not haunted? Yeah, and I don't, I mean, I guess that's just how some people cope. Guess you live with it like that?

You live with it like that? Now, there's one thing about seeing a flamer and a flaming family. Yeah. What is up with that? That would be the last thing you want to see. I mean, this number would mean the idea of burning anything, especially people that would just be so disturbing to see. And you're, I'm wondering too, do they look burned or is it just like an aura around them? Are they actually standing in the flames? I don't know. I, yeah, go ahead. She's like, there's a woman with bouffin hair looking at her, the dogs and things. The dad sees a flaming family with flames around them. And then mom and the dad both see, excuse me, both see a little girl by the bed, like they both saw the same thing. A lot of different things in the house. And it could be one thing that's kind of looking like different things to different people. I don't know, but it would be horrifying nonetheless. I remember when I was a kid, I have a traumatizing story of watching people burn.

It's not a real life thing though. It was, remember when you'd go to an appliance store, there'd be a whole wall of televisions. I guess Best Buy still kind of does that. Where it's just TV after TV. Well, back in the day, they weren't just showing images of butterflies in high definition. They would show movies that were coming out on VHS or beta. And on one wall of TVs, I remember sitting there as my dad was looking at TVs and trying to figure out what to get. And it was, it was a big drawn out process back. There was like buying a car. Oh, it's too big. It was big. Yeah, I mean, it was a big thing to go buy a TV. It wasn't just like it is today, where it's like, oh, that one's like 20 bucks at Walmart. Let's get it. Huge investment. Oh, and they were expensive as hell. And anyway, the point of the story is the towering in Ferno. It's a very cheesy 70s disaster movie. It was showing on all of the televisions. And there's a scene in that movie where there's two people trapped in the hotel room

as the in Ferno gets to them. Eventually the fire breaks in and they burn alive. And the scene is pretty graphic showing them like on fire and everything. And it obviously made an impact on me because it still is etched into my mind as one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen. At like, I don't know, five watching that at the end. I got it. That would be dramatic. The other horrible burn scene that I absolutely hate is in final destination when the plane crashes where it literally walks you through the whole thing. The plane's flaming and they're going down and the flesh is literally melting off. It's horrible. I have not seen that now. I don't want to. You just there's, but there's many other things to do with your time than watch that movie. So anyway, hey, if you like the show, be sure to press subscribe wherever you download podcasts.
