why are so many people afraid of spiders

You can follow me on Spotify wherever you listen to podcasts by just typing in Mark Parham podcast And I should pop up So, you know, I've always had this question and maybe some of the folks in the comment section can answer this but you know Why are so many people afraid of spiders and I'm saying this is somebody who like I say I'm also afraid of spiders Like if I see something crawling around I'm like, you know what it just freaks me out and And you know, when you really think about it, it's just like why are so many people afraid of spiders like if you really think about it Like people will have they're not afraid of snakes like that. They're not afraid of all sorts of stuff But it's like a little tiny spider can make somebody like freak out like if a little tiny spider is on the floor or crawling somewhere People almost like going saying and like I said, I'm one of those people too where if I see a spider crawling around I'm like, you know I got to sit up and just it just freaks me out. And so it's just amazing where so many people get this fear of spiders like I have me have this fear of spiders

1:06I think it's called a rack nephobia, but it's almost like where did this thing where did this fear start? Like maybe it's a movie that we all watched maybe it's You know something we've read something we've seen on TV, but it's just amazing how millions of people are afraid of tiny spiders like Same people even me like I'm somebody where I went to a camp one time and a person out of snake A big snake didn't bother me. It was a spider. I got a snake. I came up to the snake and everything I think it was like a forgive what type of snake it was, but The snake wasn't the thing. I was like scared of it was like a tiny medium-sized spider, and so it was just amazing how You know, maybe it's movies or this certain things we've been told about spiders, but Human beings millions of human beings around the world have just like this fear and again I'm not saying that there's no reason and not to have a fear of spiders. There are some spiders that are very dangerous

2:08In certain parts of the world. I'm not saying all spiders are like friendly and and You won't get harmed by spiders, but it's just amazing when you look at it like we're huge Compared to a spider when you look at the size of a person compared to a spider in how folks will see a spider Maybe crawl on a pair of pants or something or a crawl on their leg and it's like freak out So I've just wondered where that fear like how that fear started For so many people because It's like I mean There's big animals that can do a lot of harm that people aren't afraid of like There's animals where you see them all the time people will come up and Pet certain animals in it doesn't bother them So it's just it's interesting. Maybe I have to do more research about How did this fear of spiders like how did why do so many people have this fear like where did it start I remember I think there was a movie back in the days called a racnephobia or something like that With some movie with spiders think back in the 80s or something that freaked me out when I was looking at it when I was you know

3:14Younger, but I really don't know where this fear came from So um Like I said in the comment section. Let me know if you are afraid of spiders or Are you a person where you know spiders don't bother you? I've seen some people where they'll be in the woods somewhere and the spiders hanging on A web or something like that and they can just come up to the spider and let it crawl into their hands and stuff like that It doesn't bother them like there's some people where and I've seen it Where it's just like spiders don't bother then they'll see a spider and almost like start Interacting with the spider. It's just like I said. It's amazing to me But um, I'm not one of those people I wish I was but like I said, let me know if you're one of those people too Like it spiders really don't bother you your person where if you're in the woods and you see something Crawl let's just say on your shoe or something like you know, you can go about your day So just let me know how you feel about spiders and then also if you're on YouTube, please give this video I mean our video.
