Listeners often ask me, “Why doesn’t America work anymore?” Part of the answer is “because a lot of Americans don’t work anymore.” Most people wouldn’t cross the lawn and ask their neighbors to pay their rent or buy their food for them. But the same people love to vote for the politician who do that for them. I don’t mind helping people who can’t help themselves, but we’ve recreated slavery in America. And the problem is, our welfare slaves can contribute very little except reliable Democrat voting, and creating additional welfare recipients who will replicate what their welfare parents contributed. As a taxpayer, am I a victim? No, I believe the welfare people are victims. They won’t know what earning a living is really like, and how wonderful it is.
