A federal whistleblower is raising serious concerns about a new postal service system being built to carry out President Trump's mail-in voting plan. Warning, it was rushed, largely untested and could cause major problems during the midterm

4:07elections. The system is called the federal ballot mail portal. At Trump's plan, states would provide voter information to the postal service, which would then use the new system to verify voters before mail-in ballots are sent out. But the whistleblower and anonymous federal official represented by whistleblower A says there are serious problems with how this system could work. So think about this. A state says, okay, we've sent you our list of names. You've got all of them. Now we actually want to send out ballots. So here are 10,000 ballots we want to send out in this county. And those get uploaded to those postal service. Let's say that one of the names in that 10,000 doesn't match. All 10,000 get rejected. All 10,000. Not just the one, all 10,000. That's how it's designed to work. This is not a bug. This is not a flaw. This is not the, we didn't have time. This is literally a design by this administration on how this system should work. So one bad barcode could potentially hold up thousands of ballots.

5:10And on a national scale, the whistleblower warns millions of Americans could get their ballots late or not at all. The complaint also says the postal service didn't seriously begin building the portal until June, giving workers less than three months for a project that could normally take nine months to a year. And the whistleblower claims work on the system continued, while court orders blocking parts of Trump's plan were still in place. The postal service confirms it continued developing the portal during the legal fight, but says it has complied with the court orders because it is not currently using parts of the system that could reject ballots. The White House is now also pushing back saying this type of technology is not new or unusually complicated for the postal service. Right now, a federal judge has temporarily blocked the postal service from requiring states to use this new system, including submitting voter information and getting ballot envelopes approved before those ballots can be mailed. But another hearing is expected today as the court considers whether to keep those changes

6:12blocked for longer. And this is moving very quickly because some states are already preparing to start sending out mail in ballots. The family of 20 year old Pierre Domes Bell is speaking out and calling attention to what they say happened to him in the weeks before his death. Pierre was a Haitian immigrant and neuroscience student at Wright State University in Ohio. His family says he was trying to do everything right, going to school, working and following the immigration process. But on July 29th, ICE placed him on a GPS ankle monitor while his immigration case continued.

10:19His family says that's when they began to see a change. They say Pierre was embarrassed by the monitor, bullied at school and struggled to play soccer because of it. And they say he didn't just accept it. He reportedly traveled to the immigration offices more than once asking officials to take off the monitor. They refused. Then Monday Pierre called his father and told him he wasn't feeling or thinking right. Later that morning, authorities say Pierre walked on to Interstate 70 and was struck and killed by an 18-willer. Now his family and community leaders in Springfield are calling for an end to GPS ankle monitoring for Haitian immigrants. Pierre's family attended a news conference on Tuesday. It was customary in his language to continuously overexplain and he didn't have to that he was not a criminal. At work, at school, on social media, on TikTok, on Instagram. If you go to his Instagram profile, it is evident.

11:22Pierre was a rising student at Wright University. He had aspirations to major in neuroscience. He told me how much education was important to him. The only way his little brother that is 15 years old is surviving is because of the words that was echoed by his brother to pursue his education no matter what. The rhetoric that were deporting illegals, which is extremely dehumanizing, there is nothing illegal or criminalizing about Pierre Domes Bell. Not even a traffic ticket. And it shouldn't have to get to this point for this administration to understand that there is blood on their hands. There is nothing just about this current immigration policy. There is nothing just about shaffling people that have not ever committed a crime. This was his continuous statement to me on the phone. It is ridiculous. In our public elected officials in Ohio need to do their jobs and stop reducing people

12:23to political ponds and stories. This was a situation that could have been prevented. Pierre was more patriotic than hateful Americans that is pushing this harmful dehumanizing rhetoric. He was a JROCC student. He showed powerful leadership as a varsity soccer player. It is time for people to wake up. This has nothing to do about immigration enforcement. When you are dehumanizing people, you are putting chains on people. Ohio governor Mike DeWine, a Republican who has criticized the Trump administration's push to deport Haitians from Ohio is also weighing in. He called Pierre's death a horrible, horrible tragedy and questions whether this is how the country should be treating people like him. And this is now becoming a bigger conversation in Springfield. Community leaders are calling on immigration officials to stop using ankle monitors on Haitian immigrants, arguing that people who are following the immigration process should

13:26not be treated like criminals. The Ohio State Patrol is investigating Pierre's death and I says it will not speculate about what led to his death while that investigation continues. And finally Southern California is so-called serial butt sniffer has been arrested again. His name is Collise Crouter, he is 39 years old and is a registered sex offender. Police say two Glendale businesses called about him within the same hour last week. The first caller reported a man crouching down in the aisles and appearing to sniff women. Then police got another call from a nearby Marshalls reporting similar behavior. Investigators checked surveillance video identified Crouter and arrested him a short time later for a parole violation. What this sounds familiar, there's a reason. Crouter has been arrested multiple times for similar behavior. Back in 2025 surveillance video from a burbing Norshum rack showed him following a female

14:29shopper, crouching down behind her and appearing to sniff her butt. Police later found him at a nearby Walmart where they said he was following another woman. And many people first learned his name in 2023 when a woman posted a viral TikTok showing a man crouch down behind her inside a burbing Barnes and Noble. Now three years later, Crouter is back in custody, he's being held on a parole violation while the case moves forward. That's your front page, I'm Amy Brown.
