Story Transcript:

El: Ο βαρύς ήχος του ραδιοφώνου διατάραξε τον ήσυχο θόρυβο του υπόγειου καταφυγίου.
En: The heavy sound of the radio disrupted the quiet noise of the underground shelter.

El: Ο Δημήτρης και η Ελένη ήταν καθισμένοι γύρω από το μικρό τραπέζι, οι ματιές τους ανήσυχες.
En: O Dimitris and i Eleni were sitting around the small table, their gazes anxious.

El: Το καταφύγιο είχε χτιστεί γερό, με τοίχους από τσιμέντο και ράφια γεμάτα προμήθειες.
En: The shelter had been built strong, with concrete walls and shelves full of supplies.

El: Το χειμώνα έκανε πολύ κρύο έξω, αλλά το μικρό θερμαντικό σώμα προσέφερε λίγη ζεστασιά.
En: In the winter, it was very cold outside, but the small heater offered a bit of warmth.

El: "Έχουμε μια ειδοποίηση," είπε ο Δημήτρης.
En: "We have a notification," said o Dimitris.

El: Η φωνή του παρέμενε ήρεμη, παρόλο που κατά βάθος φοβόταν.
En: His voice remained calm, even though deep down he was afraid.

El: "Δεν ξέρουμε τι συμβαίνει από πάνω."
En: "We don't know what's happening above."

El: Η Ελένη τον κοίταξε επίμονα.
En: I Eleni looked at him intently.

El: Ήταν γενναία, πάντα αναζητούσε την αλήθεια.
En: She was brave, always seeking the truth.

El: "Πρέπει να μάθουμε περισσότερα," δήλωσε.
En: "We need to find out more," she stated.

El: "Μπορεί να είναι επικίνδυνο, αλλά δεν μπορούμε να μείνουμε τυφλοί."
En: "It may be dangerous, but we can't remain blind."

El: Ο Δημήτρης αναστέναξε.
En: O Dimitris sighed.

El: "Ίσως να είναι καλύτερα να μείνουμε εδώ και να ενισχύσουμε το καταφύγιο.
En: "Maybe it's better if we stay here and reinforce the shelter.

El: Αν υπάρχει κίνδυνος, θα είμαστε πιο ασφαλείς."
En: If there's danger, we'll be safer."

El: Αλλά η Ελένη, με την αποφασιστικότητα στο βλέμμα της, είπε:
En: But i Eleni, with determination in her gaze, said,

El: "Δημήτρη, δεν μπορούμε απλά να κρυβόμαστε.
En: "Dimitri, we can't just hide.

El: Χρειάζομαι να μάθω τι συμβαίνει και... και έχω κάτι να σου πω."
En: I need to find out what's happening and... and I have something to tell you."

El: Οι ματιές τους συναντήθηκαν.
En: Their gazes met.

El: Μέσα στις σκιές, υπήρχε μια στιγμή κατανόησης.
En: In the shadows, there was a moment of understanding.

El: Πριν όμως προλάβουν να συζητήσουν, ο Δημήτρης ακούμπησε κατά λάθος ένα παλιό ραδιοφωνικό κουμπί.
En: But before they could discuss, o Dimitris accidentally touched an old radio button.

El: Ένας νέος ήχος εκπέμφθηκε, πιο καθαρός.
En: A new sound emitted, clearer.

El: "Ελένη, άκου!" είπε.
En: "Eleni, listen!" he said.

El: Το ραδιόφωνο σφύριξε και μετά ακούστηκε μια φωνή που έλεγε ότι όλα ήταν καλά. Ο κίνδυνος ίσως να ήταν απλά ένας ψευδής συναγερμός.
En: The radio whistled, and then a voice said that everything was fine. The danger might have just been a false alarm.

El: Οι δύο τους κάθισαν σιωπηλοί για λίγο, επεξεργασμένοι τη στιγμή.
En: The two sat silent for a while, processing the moment.

El: "Ίσως να μπορούσαμε να δούμε τι γίνεται γύρω μας, αλλά με προσοχή," είπε ο Δημήτρης τελικά.
En: "Maybe we could see what's going on around us, but cautiously," o Dimitris finally said.

El: Η Ελένη χαμογέλασε, γεμάτη ανακούφιση και ίχνη θάρρους.
En: I Eleni smiled, full of relief and traces of courage.

El: "Ναι, πάμε μαζί.
En: "Yes, let's go together.

El: Και Δημήτρη... το ότι ήθελα να σου πω είναι ότι... σε αισθάνομαι πολύ κοντά μου."
En: And Dimitri... what I wanted to tell you is that... I feel very close to you."

El: Ο Δημήτρης την κοίταξε βαθιά στα μάτια.
En: O Dimitris looked deeply into her eyes.

El: "Κι εγώ, Ελένη," της είπε απλά.
En: "Me too, Eleni," he said simply.

El: Η ένταση που υπήρχε εβδομάδες τώρα μεταξύ τους εξαφανίστηκε.
En: The tension that had been between them for weeks now vanished.

El: Μαζί, αποφάσισαν να εξερευνήσουν προσεκτικά και να μείνουν σε εγρήγορση, απολαμβάνοντας τη ζεστασιά της νέας τους σχέσης στον ψυχρό κόσμο έξω.
