Wherever You Go, There You Are - Wellbeing Wisdom Tiny Bites Podcast
About this episode
Wherever you go, there you are – maybe you’ve heard that phrase before? It’s one of those deceptively simple phrases – almost nursery-rhyme in its simplicity, yet profound in it’s truth.
Many people think that if something’s not going right they need to move on, whether that means a new car, a new job, or a new romantic partner. But wherever they go, there they are. If they weren’t happy about the car, job, or spouse they had before, it won’t take long before they’re unhappy about the replacement.
They are the common denominator – wherever they go, there they are.
One of the most important life skills is to be comfortable and satisfied in your own company. Dr. Seuss wrote a children's book that is often given as high school and college graduation gifts because of the wisdom it contains. “All Alone! Whether you like it or not, Alone will be something you'll be quite a lot.”
When you are comfortable being by yourself, then you’ll always have a person whose company you enjoy. “Wherever you go, there you are” can be a good thing, too!
