Christian Zionism, a movement rooted in the belief that the Jewish people have a claim to their ancient homeland, has evolved significantly from its medieval origins through the Reformation, Puritan restorationism, and modern dispensationalism, culminating in robust support for the state of Israel, as seen in the 1948 establishment under David Ben-Gurion and bolstered by figures like Lord Shaftesbury, William Blackstone, and evangelicals such as Billy Graham and Jerry Falwell.
