What to Do When the Chronic Complainer is You - Wellbeing Wisdom Tiny Bites Podcast

About this episode

Are you around someone who complains about almost everything? It’s exhausting, right?

Nothing is ever warm enough or cold enough or soft enough or … whatever. They keep up a running commentary of not-enoughness, and if you love them you learn to tune it out. If you don’t love them, chances are you physically remove yourself from their presence as much as possible.

Have you ever thought about whether you might complain too much? You don’t want to be “that person” that others avoid, right?

Today, try to catch yourself complaining, and keep count of how often you notice your negativity. The first step in making a positive change in yourself is considering the possibility that change might be needed. The second step is to observe yourself and assess the need for change. If you hardly complain at all, yay. If you catch yourself complaining more than you’d like, time for step 3 – as soon as you notice a complaint coming from your mouth, laugh at yourself and remind yourself that it’s an old habit and you don’t want to be that negative anymore.

Then watch yourself transform and grow!
