The food rots, the air stinks, storms tear the sails, and delirium grips the crew until every shadow on the horizon looks like land. Columbus will be remembered forever; the nameless sailors — you among them — are erased, their suffering ground down into silence.

This is not the story of discovery as it appears in books, but the reality of life at sea: cramped, foul, exhausting, and anonymous. You sailed into glory, and found only misery.
