What Does It REALLY Take to Win on the PGA Tour?

About this episode

What does it actually take to win on the PGA Tour?

I went back through the 2026 PGA Tour season and looked at the statistics behind every winner to find out what separates a tournament winner from the rest of the field.

And I found something really interesting.

When you look at the week a player actually wins, putting stands out as the most important factor.

But when you zoom out and look at what makes a player successful over an entire season, Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green tells a very different story.

So which matters more?

Is a great putting week the key to winning? Or does sustained tee-to-green excellence give players the best chance to put themselves in position to win?

In this video, I break down the numbers behind PGA Tour winners and use them to explore the bigger question:

What should we actually be looking for when trying to predict who is going to have a successful week on the PGA Tour?

We'll look at putting, tee-to-green, approach play, driving, scoring and other key statistics to build a better understanding of what a winning profile really looks like.

This isn't about simply finding the guy who ranks first in a statistic.

It's about figuring out which combination of skills gives a player the best chance to win.
