This came on top of an earlier problem that day, where emergency services blocked lines and forced trains headed to Reddich to stop at Long Bridge Junction, Birmingham instead. Shuttle buses filled the gap there too, easing some of the chaos for commuters. Stranded riders dealt with long waits and uncertainty, but the quit bus roll outs kept things from getting worse. Officials noted these hit popular routes during peak evening hours. Teams are working around the clock to sort the signals and clear any backups, so expect some knock on delays into tomorrow.
