This podcast is part of the Sports Social Podcast Network. Happy Goods. Happy having a lovely start to your Sunday. I say this, but then you might be watching this at a different time. But as I recall this, it's Sunday morning. It's not only Sunday morning. It's Sunday morning where West Ham is still top of the league. We're still top. Yeah, brilliant, brilliant. Lovely feeling, isn't it? To be top after such a slow start, after obviously the first three games and then to respond the way we have. It's nice. Good feeling and hopefully that means now we can kick in. We can kick on from it. It's a, yeah, it's been a very positive weekend. Of course, Milwaukee losing as well as always a nice sweet now. Got them next to call some the league. So that's going to be a. Yeah, it's going to be a very interesting game, isn't it? I can imagine now that the conference levels over in South London are probably taking a bit of a knock now going into that game. And obviously difference now that we will be feeling going into it. I'm hoping we can really. We can really go into that with our towers up and of course we play full of in midweek going the cup at London stadium.

Now that's going to be. That's going to be an interesting game really because. Although I don't think that's going to be our priority and I'm rightly so because promotion is absolutely the number one key this season. I think it's the game that we can we can get a result. You know what I mean? I've done full of them haven't been impressive in the Premier League, although they did. Apparently I didn't see the game, but. I'm going to pretty decent performance against Liverpool getting a point there yesterday. I don't know, just I just think it's a game that if we can advance knock out a Premier League team again just adding that momentum keep going. So yeah, I'm looking forward to it. But hopefully it's not going to be I can't imagine no no for any kitchen sink at that game. That's all I would say. Obviously we have got bigger fish to fly for our season without a doubt. But yeah, still top of the league can't complain about that. I've got the winner for the 50 pound iron threads voucher. I'm going to announce at the end of the video. So do stay tuned. Now, this is a bit of an update video, a bit of a West Ham latest video. I like to do a bit of a catch up of certain things because. It's certainly needed this week because we've had so much football so much going on with the shareholding stuff going on as well, which is sort of dominated.

It's been. It's been hard to keep up actually and I think there's a few cut the stories going on that I haven't spoken about. I need to talk about and people have asked me to speak about as well. So I'm going to talk about them in this video is a little bit of catch up where we are with other bits and pieces and the big one is Edson Alvarez. Now, this is a story I saw someone pinned it to me. Instead of you seeing this and I looked at it a little bit and I to be honest with you at the time. I was doing some content. I think it might have been about stably. I know I'll shock you. I was going to do some content about my statement. So my brain was a little bit too focused on that. So I'll read about that later and I never really got around to it. And then someone was commented that you're going to talk about st I'm sorry about Alvarez and I think I've done stably. I'm going to try and keep this stably free in this video as much as I can. And so I decided, right, I'm going to have a little look into this and talk about it. And I'm going to be honest, right? I'm just going to read you what I know and tell you what I know. I'm not an expert in this, but this is a very typical West Ham United story.

I just like to make that straight. This is a very much like yes, this this aligns very much with a West Ham United player story. Because we've had enough of these sort of things over the years. We've had, you know, Marco Boogas living in a caravan and Mikael Antonio. I'm going to come to him to be having a car crash not one, two. And in the end of his career, for now one could have been worse. It's just feels like we've always got these sort of dramas hanging around. And this seems to be another one. So basically what I understand is. A film producer. I believe that Mexico has accused Alvarez's former father-in-law of forcing him into a vehicle gunpoint. An alleged kidnapping plot and this is back in 2024 now. The accuser says that Alvarez actually wasn't directly involved, but he was aware of it. And he knew the guy because apparently this guy being this film producer being commissioned to do and document you on Alvarez about his life.

And he was apparently owed money. He was owed 150 grand. So apparently that's what this is all relating to money that's owed. And then he's accused then Alvarez's former father-in-law of basically plotting to kidnap him. And now he's as I said stressed that Alvarez wasn't directly involved, but he was very aware of it. So it's these are pretty serious accusations. And that's to be honest, this is not something that's going to, if someone's going to accuse you of kidnapping. Because I mean, I don't know the law very well. But I'm pretty sure kidnapping is up there with sort of murder basically. I think it's very serious. I think you know, you're looking at all life and prison for kidnapping. So certainly I think in this country, I don't know where it will be made, but I'll assume it is. So it's very, very serious. So Edson Alvarez released a statement on this. And he's denied all allegations completely. And he says what he has said, he said in light of the publications and statements that have been circulated recently. I believe it's necessary to address this matter clearly and firmly. I categorically reject any accusation or allegations or attempt to associate my name of events, conflicts or conduct that is entirely unrelated to me.

So he's not denied ever happened. He's not denying that this is made up story. He's just saying I'd nothing to do with it. So it is from what he's saying to me is that this happened. As I say, I don't know enough. I'm reading what I've read so far, but this is what I've got so far. So that's what I've taken to that. Over the past several months, my name and image have repeatedly been used to generate greater media attention around the situation that has nothing to do with me. So I'd assume that this is back in his hometown because we haven't had much of it here of week. That's why I was quite surprised when I read about it. I didn't know too much about it. He said, until now, I chose not to respond. However, there are limits and knowledge responsibility or involvement in matters of this nature without me presenting a single piece of evidence clearly crosses that line. If anyone believes they have any evidence of anyone doing in my part, their authorities prosecutors and courts before which I can be, they can present it. Serious accusations must be supported by evidence and presented before the appropriate authorities not through statements in the media whose content priorities, sensationalism and media exposure over accuracy and truth.

I will not allow my name to be used to fuel conflicts between third parties or to gain media exposure. So, but what I'm reading into that then he's well, one is denying that causation, but what he's suggesting then is that statement to be input in the media. He's really fearing his name into it and the media are doing that because it creates a big story and it was newspapers etc etc or content, whatever. So that's what I that's what I'm reading into this. But again, he's not denying any of this happened. He's just saying, well, look, if you believe that I'm involved, then let's go to court that presents your evidence to me. So he's obviously categorically categorically denying any of this. And it's interesting that he's former father-in-law, but obviously we don't know the relationship there. But apparently it's to do with the fact that this guy was I was owed money. That's what I'm reading anyway. It's given the serious nations of the statements made. I've instructed my legal team to evaluate and pursue the appropriate legal action against any person who makes a false allegation against me.

I also want to be clear regarding the publications that have attempted to connect me to this matter through my former partner's father. It's not my place to confirm tonight or comment on what may have been said about those third parties. But it is my responsibility to make one thing absolutely clear. I have nothing to do with the events that have been reported throughout my, throughout the 10 years of my professional career, I've made every effort to stay away from media scandals and to have my name recognised for my work by on and off the football pitch. I come from a hard working and honorable family that have taught me that a reputation is built by over many years through hard work, discipline and conduct. For that reason, I will not allow mine to be irresponsibly used to involve me in matters that are entirely unrelated to me. My priority is, and always will continue to be where it has always been, my daughters, my family and my professional career. So to be fair, I mean, he's a pretty good statement really. He's very, very strongly worded. I mean, that's the story. And I don't really have a comment on it. I've got to be honest with what I thought.

And what can you say really? It's just, what it has gone on in Mexico, wherever it is, he's far from far from it has been accused of this kidnapping plot and the media appeared to be using average's name. It's hard to say, but obviously in the report I've read, the accuser says that Edson average not directly involved, but was aware of it. That's, he's so he needs to present that evidence, I guess. Look, it's, it's just the typical West, that story really for some concern. It's like, we would do well, we have no one for a while. We could do a big scandal. So this is, this is one there. So I mean, I don't know what's, however, as a future is at West, I'm, I've got to be honest. That's what I'm more popular about is his, you know, West, I mean, it affects us. And it's obviously isn't ideal. We'll have him having this big distraction in his life. But is he going to be integrated, reintegrated back into the team? I mean, it's very difficult. Isn't him and Maghasa? Because, Maghasa's body more likely, but it's, I don't think Alvarez was playing preseason, but he just feels like we've got the bundles in midfielders now. And I've got to be honest, I like what I'm seeing from my standpoint, at the last few games we played well, we can see a team jelly.

I don't want to see much disruption, gentlemen. I don't want to be forced to play certain players. It might upset certain other ones that have been playing well. You know what I mean? The last thing I want to see is, you know, I midfield being disrupted. I mean, we see next week we've got Maghasa and Alvarez in the team. I don't know. I mean, look, I'm not suggesting that it's bad to have these players available. Do you get my point? I'd ask you I want is this any boat's been rocks here? We seem to be building a bit of momentum now, I don't know. No, I don't, I just don't want it disrupted. So, yeah, some of thoughts on that one. I'm going to talk about Daniel Quittinski very, very quickly. West, I'm apparently going to release a statement on the share holding situation. Now, I don't know what I've heard about it. And maybe I'm wrong. And I hope I am wrong because this is just what I've read. Is that West, I'm aren't going to be working any statements soon. They're going to wait until the actual payments have all been cleared. And it's all going to be released on company's house, which is 14 days after the, the payments went through, which was Friday. So, four to two weeks Friday. So, not next Friday, Friday after. I just don't like this. I'm growing quite tired of Quittinski in this silence all the time.

It just feels like there's too much silence. We never hear from him. We never see him. I feel like this is a time as an owner. If you're taking 46, 6% of West Ham, how about starting coming forward and talking to fans now? You know, we've heard and seen more of stavily in, I've mentioned stavily. All right. I did it. I've failed. I've failed miserably. But we have only, do you know what I mean? We've seen more of her. We've seen her more from us. We're more passionate from her. She's more connected to the fans. It's not good. It's constant silence. I'm just not saying anything. You know, and even the statement we got recently, it was like shortly worded statement. I'm just, I'm growing a little bit exhausted a bit. I must say so. Yeah, not, not thrilled with Daniel Quittinski at the moment. I've got to say often because a lot of pressure on him now. He needs to start realizing that we are a football club of passionate fan base. And we need to hear from our ownership. What's going on? Because it is intentions is to stay at West Ham, which appears to be he doesn't appear to want to go anywhere. Then what's the goal? What's the end game here? What's the plan? What's the plan for the stadium? What's the plan for the club?

Where do you want to take the club? What's acting with the finance and the club that you said that was going to happen? All this stuff, what's going on? Because at the moment, we've had a nice, strongly worded statement back in June. And okay, that was because when he was aligning with Vanessa Gold. It was very anti-sullivan, very like we've distancing ourselves from him. And then we've got a deal with Sullivan. We haven't refinanced the club. And we've not heard anything since growing a bit fell out of it. So I wanted to mention that because if it is that we're not going to get a statement from the club now for another two weeks, I think that's really poor. I'm getting a bit bald of this constant silence from Quittinski. I just think it's it's warmed down a little bit now like I'm he should be at games. You just bought you bought 46% of West Ham now. You're the largest shareholder club. Why aren't you at the games? You know, you should have been at the you should have been at the rexing game in the stands. In my opinion, I just think that I don't like that from ownership. There's no hands on feel about it until he's just distant and he's going to be distant because he's involved in every other thing. This is what I don't get with Quittinski. I don't really get what he wants. Because he was very happy to stay as a sort of silent partner effectively behind Sullivan and Gold and Brady. He was happy to sit back and.

And I think that's really something that's not really a much of an influence. So why is it now we so anti-stainly? Why is he so like I don't want to stay in this club? I'm trying to block her out. Why? Why wouldn't you want her into replace Sullivan to take the club forward and then you can sit back and think lovely job. I'll let her run the show. I just I'm struggling to get what Quittinski's goal when all of this is. And I think about time we got some clarity on that. Yeah, so let me know you focus on this by the way. If you think I'm wrong, you know, tell me. I don't mind. I can take it. Right. Antonio to Watford. Yeah, I mean, he signed a one-year contract free transfer. Of course, being an out contract player. I've got real mixed minds about Antonio and I hate that I do. I shouldn't do. And I have, but I just do. I can't help it. And I'm going to, I think I've no shit this before, but I'm going to share it again. I've got two parts of me, Antonio. One hand. I think he's probably one of the best signs up we've had in my time as a Westam fan. I think we we've got him from not an of forest. I'm a half of the years now. We bought him a two for a half number 2014.

Is it something around that time? 2014, 2015, something like that. I think, yeah, from that time. And he came into Westam and I thought that he's just been, you think what he worked where it when he came in obviously root from non league football. A two in a midsham. And then I think he went, you know, around the broccoli and search chef Wednesday. The other thing there. Then he was a not in for us. And he came to Westam. I do think in that time at Westam and the goals he scored those memories he's created. He's won a European trophy. He he has been a big part of Westam for a long, long time. And I have such fond memories of Antonio and I love him really for that. And I'm, you know, as I say, I've got nothing but high regard in that aspects of Antonio. And I do think he goes down to one of those players that. If you ever see him, you know, 20 years time at the stadium, he's welcome there with open arms. You know, I mean, he should be, he should be someone that's doing stadium tools. He should be at Westam. He's part of that fabric of the club as far as I'm concerned. But then there's the other hand of Antonio, which I do find frustrating. I don't like this victim side of it sometimes. I feel like sometimes he does express his disdain for the club in terms of not being given a bit of deal and not the West.

I just think Westam really stood by Antonio, in my opinion. I don't think Westam has done anything wrong. We paid him throughout his recovery. We even offered him a contract. We tried to help him in his rear bit of stage and let him. I don't really know more than what the club could have done for Antonio, as he is. And in time as always, well, wealthy man. You know, don't you want me worked hard for it and he deserved it. If I was a what he what he gave to the football club, but. He's always that he seems to have a bit of an issue with Westam at times. And I don't know. It's just it's always left me feeling sad that for someone that has done so well for the club. And that kind of. What's a legendary status a bit stream, but certainly a sort of cult hero. Well, no, yeah, I know legends are big word for me, but you know what I mean. Certainly it's massively held in high regard by Westam. It just feels like it was an a nice ending, but we'll say this on that. I really hope that he gets to come back and play against us for what for I really hope we get to see him. I really hope we get to farewell. Because he does deserve a farewell Westam and I think we all do we all deserve a bit of a bit of closure from Antonio because it feels like he left.

He was a Westam, you know, I think he's the only Westam Premier record record Premier League goalscorer, believe so. Well, it's not he might be bowing now. I'm not sure I should know that. But you get my point. It's like he sort of went didn't he and quietly we didn't really get to see it. And it felt like some of the statements he's cyber a bit. Snipey and I don't know. I just didn't ever like to it. Never sat well on me. So I really hope that that's what this is going to offer. So fair play to wherever he can still do it. I'm not sure. I'm actually surprised Antonio still wants to play. I've got to be honest. I thought well, all these injuries he's had and obviously the car accident and the fact he's pretty good in the media really. He's good in front of the camera and very likable character. I was just thought that it would be kind of an actual fit that he goes into media work. So I'm quite surprised he still wants to play. But you know fair play to him. And I hope he does well. I do hope he does well. He's a good character and he hopefully hopefully he will do well but I'm just not convinced. But let's wait and say. Anyway, on to the winner then of the West. The West and why the West and why but it's the iron threads voucher and we got a 50 pound giveaway and it goes to right it goes to GWH 1010 now GWH now I'm going to shoot and I'm pretty sure I'm correct here that your name is Gerald William Herbert.

So GWH slash Gerald William Herbert. I'm pretty certain I'm correct. You have won the 50 pound voucher. So well done to you sir. I'm going to read out his comments. It was quite did make me laugh. He said. This is my comment hopefully for the iron threads voucher. I wanted to tell you about my favorite story at a game that I went to. So it was when Spurs were using the Wembley as their stadium. It is one of Billy. She's last games in charge. Carried our cup against them. We were 2 0 down at our time at that point. I was standing behind and started having a fight in the stands. They were rolling around and punching each other. Then if you remember we came back one the game 3 2 and at the end of the game the 2 men that were fighting each other asked me to take a photo of them together hugging with their shirts off. I thought it was a very funny story so I thought I'd share it. I'm glad you shared that story because that is a typical West Ham stuff. That's a typical West Ham story as well fans. I mean I would probably not the fight if it was that nice but I like the fact they made that afterwards. But no I thought that was a nice comment and fair play to Gerald.

Which is definitely his name. No I'm only joking. If it is I'll be very surprised. But yeah you won the 50 pound voucher. So what I'll do Gerald I'll leave you a comment. I'll let you a comment anyway but I'll leave you another one. You just need to email me admin at the westamway.com admin at the westamway.com drop me an email and we'll sort out getting the voucher over to you so that we're all done. Right that's it for me. I doubt there'd be too much more going on today. Sunday obviously and there's no transfer stuff to talk about. But it's a piece of experience. I'm expecting a bit of a quiet day. But you never know West Ham. Never never know. Have a good one. I'll catch you later on. Come on your minds.
