Here's more Birmingham news from March 6th. The West Alabama Quilters Guild is putting on its 17th annual biennial Quiltshow in Tuscaloosa. This popular family event draws crowds to celebrate handmade crafts turned into stunning artwork. It kicks off Friday March 6th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., then continue Saturday March 7th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Adult quilts were judged the day before on Thursday March 5th. A junior exhibit sits right at the entrance to the main hall. More than 150 quilts fill the space, showcasing skills from quilters of all ages. Attendees get demonstrations, door prizes, vendors, and a silent auction. Organizers just ask everyone to admire the quilts without touching them. The show happens at Taylorville Methodist Church on 640 Bear Creek Road. Admission covers both days at $10 for adults, $5 for kids, 11 to 18 years old, and free for those ten and under.
