Weekly Market Insights August 19 - 23, 2024

Welcome to another exciting episode of The Personal Wealth Coach Podcast with your hosts, Jeff and Jake McClure. If you were looking at the S&P 500 Index, CRSP US Mid Cap Value Index, U.S. Treasuries, and West Texas Intermediate crude oil markets this week, you'd think things were going swimmingly. Jake updates us on the movement those markets had for the week. Then goes to try and keep your interest about interest......rates (it took me way too long to come up with that.) Some big things happened this week that could indicate where interest rates are headed. Jake explains what we might expect and a bit about how bond markets work when countries own large amounts of U.S. bonds. Lastly, at the beginning of the episode Jake asks for some help from our listeners. Typically, the weekly update is posted Saturdays at 10am CST because that's when Jeff and Jake would talk about these same topics on the weekly radio program they put on.
