With the slogan resist and unite, rethinking tomorrow's society together, the Lodge-Drew Community Leaders and Organizers. Counsel Joe Sway Corville led the opening ceremony in the Old Port area. This year's event feels especially urgent amid global challenges like rising far-right movements, xenophobia, and violence against minorities. In Quebec, new laws such as the secularism bill are seen as discriminatory, particularly toward Muslim women and people of color. Attendees shared strong feelings about the need to push back. Political scientists, Nala Luna, called it vital to unite elected officials and grassroots groups.
