Let's help set those line up for week six up next on fantasy baseball today express Welcome into FBT express on Saturday April 25th. I am for example joy by Scott White and let's start things off with the week six Schedule we have twenty six teams with six games. We have four teams with seven games that includes the twins Pirates cardinals and blue jays. What about the Rockies? They have six games three are at home against the Braves And three on the road. So I'm sure we'll have a couple Atlanta Braves hitters to talk about a little bit later on Starter sit these two star pitchers. Hey Zeus Lazardo has Mostly been bad. He gets the Giants and the Marlins next week Mostly been bad, but the underlying dad has been great And those are good matchups. I don't have them as a must-start, but he's pretty close Bubba Chandler has also mostly been bad. He gets the Cardinals and the Reds both starts at home
Isn't that always the way just when you're on the verge of sitting a pitcher who's disappointed you He lines up for two starts with pretty good matchups. So again, I leaned yes on Bubba Chandler the only Reason I might say no is if it was a rodo league And I had an alternative that I thought was Actually good if I did it. I think I'd still run Chandler out there What about Luis Castillo? It's Been a mixed bag so far this season. He's at the twins and home against the Royals Been a mixed bag. I have concerns overall, but he's coming off one of his better starts and is in line for two Good matchups. So if you can't use them now, why even keep him around? Jack Lighter got off to a good start his first two starts the next three after that not as good He gets the Yankees and at the Tigers next week I think I'd only do this one in a head-to-head point sleek where Volume is good even if the results are mediocre
It's borderline doing it in categories league, but I would definitely start lighter in a point sleek Merrill Kelly just got destroyed by the white socks. He is at the Brewers and at the Cubs next week Just points leaks and Shane Boz not great so far with the Orioles He gets the Astros and the Yankees my goodness. Yeah, I think it's just a flat no with those matchups All right, who are some two-star pitchers that you are looking to add and stream for next week Not that many for this week. I have to say Randy Vasquez is one Cubs and white socks are the matchups, but Really he's just look good overall this year more velocity on the fastball Higher induced vertical break. It's made it a strong pitch for him and the results Have been good enough often enough that I think he's advisable. Randy Vasquez with two starts Stephen Mats Was looking good for a while there his last start wasn't so great But throwing that change up more with the raise and favorable matchups this week against the Guardians and Giants
So I think that's a yes in most cases Clay Holmes has been surprisingly good so far His matchups this week at first blush they look favorable Washington and the Angels but by the numbers so far those are actually really bad matchups So it's hard to know how to interpret them obviously. It's still early in the season that you can't take Team stats at face value But I think Holmes himself has been good enough that Yeah, he's he's somebody you could consider using with those matchups. All right. You have a whole lot more one-star streamers Who do you like four week six Payton tolly for sure look great in his season debut Great fastball, but also showed a lot of swing and mispotential on a curveball that I didn't He had frankly also Brandez Arsenal with a sinker and a cutter gets the blue jays who have not hit particularly well this year
They're also down a few players because of injury think payton tolly's close to a must actually Noah Schultz gets the pod raise his second start was better than his first I think that's fine. I think there's a lot upside there obviously Andrew Abbott Past couple of shards starts have been pretty shaky But he has enough of a track record there that with a Start against the rocky's incense and atty. So he's getting the Rockies away from Korsfield That's always a favorite rule matchup. I would bet on Andrew Abbott bouncing back in that start Read Debtmers gets the Mets are down for in Siskelendor As of this recording. They're the lowest scoring team in baseball So I think I think you could roll the dice on Debtmers there Joey Kentillo Good strike out potential against a strike out prone athletics lineup baili over Velocities down There was also been pretty good though Had double digits strike out effort recently and he gets the same injury depleted blue jays lineup that payton tolly's facing
and then finally Nick Martinez gets Cleveland He has been a workhorse for the raise so far And has been doing something different Yeah, leading with his change up this year 30% rather than 20% usage is most effective pitch Also throwing more sinkers than fastball So it seems like the raise of tweaked is arsenal a little and the results have been good enough that you consider can consider Nick Martinez with a favorable matchup All right, let's take a quick break. We'll be back right after this Welcome back in the FPT express helping you set those lineups for week six the best hitter matchups for this week We have the pirates dodgers met Red Sox and brewers the worst hitter matchups marlins Yankees mariners twins and raise Scott who are your favorite sleeper hitters for week six Favorite sleeper hitters. Let's start with Carter Jensen who has been on fire of late
Especially in right handers basically does the whole as damage against right handers only one lefty on the schedule for the royals and They're facing the athletics pitching staff to begin the week so that that half of the week is at least favorable for Carter Jensen Moises by a starrows Also been on fire fact is batting averages up near 400 at this point playing time Been a little inconsistent mostly he's been sitting against lefties none of those on the schedule for the cubs full Slate of right handed pitchers so by a starrows should should keep playing Not that he's going to sustain a batting average in your 400, but he should be a good source of batting average three home runs already too So like he looks legit as a hitter and is especially worth starting with so many righties on the schedule We also have Miguel Vargas has been redhog for the white socks. I think you continue to ride that hot hand They're facing the angels and Padres pitching staffs this week both pretty vulnerable
We also have Elliott Ramos of the giants who is only rostered in half of CBS leagues That kind of surprised me given that he's been a 20-homer guy the past couple years The giants have four lefties on the slate And Elliott Ramos as you would expect for right handed titter tends to hit lefties better Let's see if I can give you a number there real quick last year against lefties Elliott Ramos Let's look at the career numbers because last year was pretty even Yeah, a first career 30 batting average 30 points higher in OPS 160 points higher against lefties than righties four lefties again for Elliott Ramos Daily miles been hot for the nationals And as available enough to mention here. So I'm going to mention him mericio Dubon Multi-eligible including shortstop the braves as you mentioned are the one team visiting course field this week
and They also are scheduled to face four lefties just like the giants the braves are facing four lefties and just like Elliott Ramos Reseo Dubon has been better against lefties then righties in his career batting average 40 points higher OPS 130 points higher El Demaro Vargas has been playing every day for the diamond backs has been hitting really well And another multi-eligible player you could take advantage of this week Spencer Torkelson Power stroke finally coming around Homer both Wednesday and Thursday And I don't think he should be as available as he is I think this could be the start of the power binge they get some picked him up picked up and a lot more leagues so if he's available and One if you're in one of the one third of CBS leagues where he's available good time to pick up Spencer Torkelson Dalton rushing Had to get a Dodgers representative here with them having the second best hitter matchups
Of course playing time has been hard for him to find With Will Smith the catcher Shohei Otoni at D.H. Freddie Freeman at first base But Dave Roberts has been mixing him in more and more because nobody can get out get all rushing out And I think that's going to continue I think he might get more starts than Will Smith this week with the Dodgers facing zero left handers rushing Of course a left handed hitter And then finally Carson binge This is me just kind of hoping his big performance Thursday at double home run is is Sparks a hot streak here the underlying data You know looks pretty good in terms of how hard he's hitting the ball in terms of the plate discipline There's some angle issues that have held the binge back but I think he's good enough to overcome that and the meds have the third best hitter matchups So let's hope this is the start of a turn around for Carson bench All right for more extensive fantasy baseball coverage listen to our full lane podcast fantasy baseball today
