Get more nervous as we get ready for our trip up to Michigan on this Thursday, September 10th, the year of our Lord, 2026, high atop a sunny downtown Nashville, Tennessee. It happens to me every year, usually in week two. There's this decision that seems obvious. In this case, it's Oklahoma over Michigan, but the problem is it's too obvious. It's just not the way the sport works. Jesse, it's not the way it worked. I've been up there before. I've watched favorites come into
Michigan Stadium and leave and defeat. I've stood right there on the field as we will Saturday and watched it. Is this going to happen again? There's no reason to believe in that offense. Is it going to happen again anyway? Got upset alerts on the show tonight. Got JP poll on the show tonight, making its day but slash debut for at least the regular season. I've got some controversy already. We're doing JP poll a little bit different this year, community. I put it out about what three o'clock today, press. And so we had a solid three hours for it to cook. And in this case, cook means we'll add a bunch. People hate on it. Draw you in and then have fandall Mike dunk on every single one of you. I've got something about dabbo and Mike Norvel on the show. I've got a good old fashioned paid state viewers guide. Multiple papers in my hand, along with the Raman who'll express, we're loaded. We're jam packed. They're watching us in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Auburn, Michigan, where we will be tomorrow morning. More Oklahoma, Seattle, Washington. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thousands upon thousands of new subscribers to the channel. So yes,
I'm still asking you to subscribe. But we can't merely beg around here. We've got to thank, thank all of you who already have. And what you found out when you subscribe to the channel is, oh, it's free. Oh, it doesn't sign me up for anything. Wow, there's no downside. I can just go on about living my life. Yes, you can. And I ask those few of you remaining who have not subscribed. In this case, follow the crowd. Sometimes the crowd knows what they're doing. In this case, they do. Let's dive into the show tonight. I do come with great news, phenomenal news. We don't have to lead the show with legal matters. We don't have to lead the show with LSU. It turns out the sun rose this morning and the sun will rise tomorrow morning. I think an LSU is still a member institution in the SEC. So I don't have to talk about that tonight. And we're probably not going to spend a whole lot of time on LSU Louisiana Tech. So what do we lead with? I've got the upset alert concern meter and it is peeing on several of these games. And the first one I want to talk to you about is Arizona State at Texas A&M because Arizona State's big questions as far as I could tell
seem to be at the offensive tackle position. But I kind of somewhat like Arizona State on the interior of the defensive line. Now this begs the question as Texas A&M is a 14 and a half point favorite at home here. Maybe a little bit of a sleepy early kickoff 11 a.m. local time. It begs the question, can A&M just run on them anyway? Because if they can, it's going to be a long afternoon for Arizona State if they can't or if they have somewhat of a successful afternoon. But it still falls on Marcel Reed to win the game with his arm. Marcel Reed may just win the game with his arm. But at the very least it inserts a little more variance into the equation there. So Carter Bowley quarter back there for Arizona State. He's no stranger to the South Eastern Conference. I say all that to say I'm putting a six on the upset alert concern meter. This is a segment that brought you such things as Western Michigan versus Michigan last week. And the strategy here, of course, is to just say every game possible. So we can say I told you so when an upset finally happens. Next up in Atlanta, we'd never ever ever pronounce the T from Georgia. I don't know why
I just did that. Tennessee is a 13 and a half point favorite at Georgia Tech. Now this goes back to what I said at the intro of the show. How much of week one in college football translates to week two? And once you answer that for yourself, you will answer what the upset alert concern meter is here. Because in week one, what did we see? We saw Deon Sanders and Colorado come into Georgia Tech and sort of kind of own the line of scrimmage a little bit. At way more than we thought they would. We saw them not take a backseat physically to Georgia Tech in any shape, former fashion. And we saw them able to run the ball. Colorado badly, badly outrushed Georgia Tech. So if all that happened in week one, Tennessee's better on the line of scrimmage than Colorado. I'll guarantee you that. Tennessee's better at tail back than Colorado. I'll guarantee you that. So this is where pride and performance comes in. This is where the controllables for Georgia Tech come in. Two or three in the
red zone for six points, two missed field goals, nine penalties. Some of these things are correctable. We do have phase on Brandon true freshman quarterback making his first start on the road here. I'm going to put a six on the upset alert concern meter. The model for some unknown reason loves Georgia Tech this week. More on the model later. A lot more on the model later. This bears watching. We'll talk about it in the viewer guide later. This bears watching. I'm going to put a six on it. Anything can happen. Next up, border war. I don't know if they've taken aim at the name of this game yet. They tried to take the red river shoot out from us. They're in the process of trying to take the holy war from us. Of course, we're not owned by corporate media entities. So we can just say whatever we want to hear. So border war, Missouri, going to Kansas. This is a calm down special. Not for you guys. You're probably very, very well balanced on this. Jesse has been spewing Missouri propaganda all over the office for the better part of 72 hours. I don't know what happened to him,
frankly. We had Chase Daniel in here the other day hanging out. Chase Daniel did not do a fraction of what Jesse has done in the name of the Missouri Tigers. So he loves them. Then this line dropped in Jesse's way. Oh, these betters are stupid. Fandals stupid. He didn't say that. Legally, he can't say that. They are our betting partner. But no amount hardy. Jesse doesn't care. He says this lines out of whack. Austin Simmons had some turnover issues in the past, but not going to be a problem this week. Missouri is just going to go on the road and dominate. Well, I'm going to put a seven and a half on the upset alert concern meter because I do think that they're probably still going to play this game despite what Jesse thinks. Kansas, possibly without their wide receiver one. Jesse, get ready. Get ready with the last name here. Missouri, the wide receiver. We love Donovan. Last name. We love him. Find out about Missouri's defense this week. That's what I'm excited about. Because we had a question mark around him. Maybe not necessarily a weakness, but a question
around him. Andy Colton, Nikki, if you just eliminate last year from life, just forget about it. Pretty much every other year, he's had good explosivity about his offense. And are we going to have that in this game? If we do, and we do get the turnover bug that pops up and bites Austin Simmons, this could be a ball game, Jesse. I know you don't believe it could be seven and a half on the upset alert concern meter. Arizona is at Brigham Young and do you realize this is only a seven and a half point spread? I think I could probably make some sense of it if you can't believe that. So Brigham Young ran for $250.8 against Arizona last year. It's impressive, right? They still went to double over time to get the win. So this was $33.27. This was a really, really close game last year. Know if a fetus still there. A quarterback for Arizona. Brigham Young, very, very comfortable in one possession games, but we're not asking if anyone's going to cover here. We're talking about upsets on the upset alert concern meter. I'm going to put it at a six. This is a very sneakily good
team at Arizona. Both of the Arizona schools, I think, are probably a little under the radar relative to what the public thinks. Brigham Young's run game is a known commodity. And the reason I didn't put this at like an eight or a nine is because I do think I can trust that. And I don't totally know if I can trust this passing game on the road going into this kind of setting. But if they do go up there and win, it would greatly shake up the big 12 odds board. I'm going to put a six on it right now. The Sihawk is on the line. I was at this game last year. I was state on the road now, taken on Iowa. This was a new kickoff last year, right, press because we were there. So it's a primetime gaming. Can it not a great place to spend an evening if you're a road football team? The last four games in this meeting, though, have been decided by one possession. So it's tracking historically as a close game. And yet there's Iowa as a 13 and a half point favorite. And I got to tell you, I think this is where that attrition rate really rears its ugly head for Iowa State. Of course, with the Campbell exit and a lot of the roster going with him, Iowa
State got disproportionately bit by the wrong end of the attrition bubble there. So Jalen Rainer was at Arkansas State, the transfer quarterback for Iowa State. You go back and look at him versus P4 competition last year, 55% completion rate under 140 yards passing. And I just don't love the spot. So I'm only going to put like a three on this on the upside of the alert concern meter. And the last one is Arkansas at Utah. You heard me right. Don't ask why I have long since stopped trying to make sense of Arkansas scheduling practices, both in and out of conference, frankly. So Arkansas, it's a late kickoff. I think it's a 1015 Eastern time kickoff. Ryan Silverfield, it's his first year as Arkansas head coach. They beat North Alabama last week, 31 to 14, approximately zero fans were all that thrilled with what they saw to the point where I don't even think Ryan Silverfield was thrilled with what he saw. What did he say? After the game,
he said, today's performance certainly wasn't to the standard and expectation we want. Probably one of the worst offensive performances I've been a part of. Well, at least they played decently defensively. The problem is Arkansas had the 116th run defense in the country last year. Maybe it improved. I don't know that it improved leaps and bounds. We'll find out though, because they're going to go play a Utah team that put 364 up on the ground last week. I don't have much confidence here. Give me a three and a half on the upset alert concern meter there. All those games are being played in the continental United States, which means, theoretically, if you own a ram, if you're thinking of purchasing a ram between now and Saturday, you could drive to any one of them. Use that thing right there. There it goes. There it goes. If you listen on podcasts, I appreciate it, but you really, really miss out on the Ram truck graphic. So I'll think into myself, self, there's a lot partnering with Ram, by the way, that they deliver that I wish I could say about
these teams I pick. For instance, Jesse, can you imagine being able to say no matter what route you're running? You'd never drop the ball because Ram doesn't, I can say that about Ram. I can say about Ram. They are tough, dependable and ready for whatever the season throws at you. Do I know I can say that about the teams that I'm picking this week? Absolutely not. Clemson was rated in the JP poll last week. Where are they? Where are they? I don't know. Maybe they're still in it. We'll see later in the show with Ram trucks are backed by the longest coverage in the game 10 year, 100,000 mile power train limited warranty. As a kid, I always used to hear power train and have no clue what it meant. I thought it was a mode of moving massive amounts of freight across the country. No, it's totally different than that. But you'll see guys, you're going to games this weekend. You'll see the the landscape, the tailgate landscape dotted with what with trucks with truck. Nobody wants to tailgate with a car. No, you either have a buddy who owns one or if you're cool enough,
you own one. Make it a Ram. McDonnell is putting value back on the menu. Whether you're craving a big Mac, McNuggets or sausage egg and cheese McGriddle's, make it a meal and save. I don't have the money, but I've got some more valuable. Let us move on. I cannot believe it's time. Seems like just yesterday, Bradley, we were doing the final JP poll of the 2025 season. Here it is, the 2026 JP poll week two edition is out. Do I even bother explaining this? It does no good. As I'm about to show you momentarily, we screen shot several replies, past tense a screenshot, to this earlier today. And it will shock you to learn five or six years into us doing this. People still don't understand that look caveat right there. These are not power these are power ratings. These are not rankings. In a ranking, I'd probably have LSU number one in the country this week. This is a power rating.
We have LSU fourth because this is the model over here. The imperfect model, but the model nonetheless that is programmed to spit out neutral field favorability ratings. Who would be favored against who? Or whoops. Now I said imperfect. You might have noticed that. And it's imperfect because there were some teams that were in the preseason JP poll pretty conspicuous in their absence. So if you're listening on podcast before we dive into all this, I'm not going to read the whole thing. You could see it on Twitter. We got to Ohio State number one. George is to LSU as I said, for Notre Dame fellow couple of points, interesting decision by the model. They're seven organs at eight. I'll see USC's at 12 Texas Texas 14 Tennessee 16 Penn State 17 Auburn's at 22. That raised some eyebrows, but nothing raised eyebrows more than the team at number 25. In fact, hardly anyone even picked up on South Carolina being power rated because of that big bright red logo with the
white end in the middle of it. Ladies and gentlemen, is that the Nebraska corn huskers power rated 25? As you can imagine, there was feedback Jackson was among thousands that's wait, wait, who's at 25? Yes. Yes. And this is this is not really sympathy. The model has no heart. It has no soul. Jim Ross would not like the model. The model is very much triple eight circuit 2001. It has no heart. It has no soul, but it has Nebraska at number 25. Now, you'll notice some teams are not pictured. What happened to Clemson? Well, Clemson was power rated. You know, Valls only hit me and said, we will not let the model forget about Clemson. I hope it knows that. I'm right there with you. This is the beauty of removing myself from being responsible for this because I can dunk on the model along with the rest of you. And while we're at it, you notice, you notice there's no Michigan in here. Michigan was in the teens. Lawan noticed that he said this one felt a little personal.
Buddy is not personal. The model can't think it cannot feel, but it can see. And it sees that while you may get a win in the record books, that was a woeful performance against Western Michigan. Can't power at him top 25 apparently right now. Now Auburn's number 22. And a lot of people came at me and it was it was one guy. Jesse, he was throwing around expletives, not even in my DMs like a sane person. He was just doing right out there in front of God and everyone. And what this gentleman said was, there's no way that Auburn would be favored against Virginia on a neutral field. I got bad news for you, sir. I know, Fandool Mike. Okay. Our exclusive odds provider at Fandool. We got him on speed dial. So what did I do? Nothing. What did I have Jesse do? I had Jesse hit up Fandool Mike and say Mike, hit up the traders Auburn versus Virginia neutral field. Today, what's the number? Do you want to know what he told me? Auburn minus three. A lot of people are
getting fooled because Auburn played a legitimate opponent in week one. They played a P4 opponent instead of scheduling Columbus State University. Okay. It would have been easy to hang half a hundred and half flaws that weren't pointed out Auburn's a flawed team. That's why I have them 22 and not two. But the models picking up on something there. So I'm not going to go as far as to repeat what Bradley just tried to speak into existence in my ear. But yeah, SMU's number 21. They're up seven spots. And I'll tell you why. You saw an ugly game. You saw SMU kind of almost lose to FSU. What the model saw is, wait a second, you were minus four turnovers and you still won and covered. Bumper them up. It kind of thinks that was SMU's floor performance. I tend to agree with it. Florida was number 20, Brigham Young 19. What about Louisville? Louisville lost. Jesse, how in the world can we have them
not dropping at all? Now I have it on good authority that this is an imposter account. I don't actually think this dude's name is posh jate. I don't think it is. And he's joking when he says clearly you didn't watch the Louisville game. They're O and one. How could you rank them top 20? But he knows what he's doing because he knows he is speaking for many, many people out there who will not submit a reply but are thinking this Louisville was a six and a half point dog on a neutral field. They actually played all this on a neutral field. They lost by three on a walkoff field goal. An AP voter looks at that and sees they lost their O and one. We have to drop them. A predictive model sees that and says they actually overperformed relative to point spread expectation. If anything we need to bump them up. That's exactly what it did. Penn State 17 Tennessee 16. There's not much change 15 through 11 Missouri, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, USC, A&M 15 through 11. Okay, so BAM is at number
10. Let's roll the tape on Alabama. We had several submissions here. Read, hit me and said, did you watch the Alabama game? Eastern Carolina caused their offensive line issues. Their best lineman is doubtful at Kentucky. An inexperienced quarterback on the road against a Kentucky team that will be fired up and who will score points. Kentucky to cover is free. Don't surprise me if they win and Jesse correct me if I'm wrong. Read did not screenshot his bet slip. He did not. No, so so we can't even prove reads got money on this game. However, he is claiming it's free money. So firstly, Alabama has already proven the model correct because they're favored by 10 and a half at Kentucky. So whatever you think's gonna happen in the game, all we're trying to do is predict who'd be favoriting against you. So I don't really know what Michael Carroll's status at right guard has to do with where Alabama's power rated going into a game and buddy, if BAM loses by 30 Saturday
the model will adjust just like it adjusted the Clemson and it has no business. It has no problem adjusting early in the year. This is this is not an AP voting situation. What about Oregon at eight? A lot of people had a lot to say about this. Somebody thought they had me. Somebody here said, wait, Oregon at eight, am I crazy? Or didn't you say dropping them after beating Boise was dumb? Are you using rankings slash ratings, Verbiage as your cop out? You keep saying that and I don't think those words mean what you think they mean. Rankings and ratings, Verbiage. You say that sarcastically like these two things are interchangeable, like they're not totally different concepts. They are different concepts. I don't know what else to say. So yeah, earlier in the week I said it was very dumb for an AP voter to drop Oregon to eight because if I were voting, if I were ranking Oregon, Verbi higher than eighth, I'm not ranking them.
We're power rating them and the bottom line is they did under achieve relative to point spread expectation in a big way. So yes, they fell three quarters of a point by the way. They didn't fall hardly at all. It's just that things are so compacted at the top. If you fall off even a little bit, you fall five spots and it looks like you fell a long way. Five to one is Miami LSU Texas, Georgia, Ohio, state. Show me the LSU tweet. You yelled at the AP poll for not having LSU won but you got them fourth. I don't. That's not how this works. That's not how any of this works. I don't have them for long time viewers and listeners are dying laughing right now because they watch this happen every year and I always do something that's very similar. I start these segments completely calm and by the end of it, I'm straining my vocal cords and the whole joke of it is I've explained this process every year and it does no good.
College football today in the live chat. Josh showing people that's brains are smushed, whatever in the world that means. It sounds good though. I think that's pretty much in agreement with what I'm trying to say. I would have LSU number one if I were an AP voter but I am not because I turn the offer down and also because these are not rankings. So LSU is at number four. They're up five spots. They're number four. Okay. I guess the model saying, look, if we dropped Clemson out entirely, we can't just all the sudden also bump LSU to number one. But the bottom line is Josh loved the name by the way in the live chat. He said the computers and idiot. Really at the end of the day, that's what it comes down to. If you disagree, don't blame me. If I could leave you with no other message than that, I'm not the problem. The model is the problem. Unless it's right. In which case, it's my model. Therefore, it's me. I couldn't state it any simpler if I tried. Okay. Quick trip. It's time to eat. I'm going to feed you
right now. Not literally, I'm going to tell you how to eat. Go to Quick Trip. Really just good life advice. But if you're hungry, go to Quick Trip. Four dollar pizza and big Q. But wait, there's more. If you download the app, three dollar pizza and big Q. Now, I know some of you like to flaunt your wallets and your paychecks and all that. And if you guys want to pay an extra dollar and not download the app, that's your business. Either way, you're at Quick Trip. But I believe in the value of a dollar. Mimaw taught me that a long time ago. And Mimaw knew that the day was coming where you could pay less for a slice of pizza and an ice cold big Q if you downloaded the app. Although, frankly, I don't think Mimaw knew what the app was at the time, but it was coming down the road. And she knew. So cold brew on tap available as well. We have a question, a little bit of a mean spirited question. It's not my question, but it's a question I'll respond to. Kevin from
Raleigh, North Carolina said, after week one, which coach gets tarmacked first? Davos, Swinney, or Mike Norvell? No, where is this necessary? Okay, I take no joy in this. That's actually not a joke. I don't even take joy in this. Tarmacked became a verb about a generation ago with our good close personal friend Lane Kiff and don't really know what he's doing these days. But once upon a time, he was the head coach at USC. And then he wasn't because they informed him, your relief of your duties right there on the tarmac. It can happen. Life comes at you quick on the tarmac or otherwise. And now it's like it's this term that is understood nowhere, but college football. What does it mean to be tarmacked? It means to be fired. It's basically what it means. So Mike Norvell does not look good. It does not feel good at all at Florida State. I mean, the other night, you know, if you look at the final score, it looks like, oh man, they took LSU to the wire,
or SMU to the wire. No, they didn't. No, they didn't. They had everything that could possibly go a bad team's way. Go their way and still couldn't win. That was a 38 to 13 blowout disguised as a close game because as hard as FSU fought to win that game, SMU fought even harder to give FSU the game. And they still wouldn't take it. It was like here, here, here, and they spill it all over their shirt. No, we lost again. This season's not going to go well. Do you know what the rest of the schedule for FSU is? They won't lose this weekend. Tells they don't play this weekend. They got to go to Alabama next weekend. Then they got Central Arkansas. And then they run off a string of Virginia at Louisville at Miami and Clemson, Clemson on Halloween. There is a legitimate crowd sourcing effort to raise half of the buyout from Mike Norvell. I don't mean it as a joke. I mean,
someone did the math and said, all right, if how many thousands of us need to contribute $100 each to cover $25 million, these are serious conversations that are happening in college football. So it feels like a matter of when, not if I would guess somewhere around there, I'm pointing to early to mid-October. I would be my guess. Davos, a whole other world, though. And I don't know, maybe the season will be saved for Davos. Maybe he just went and played the best team in the country. Maybe. Maybe they're going to make a change at quarterback and that'll do for Clemson, a muted version of what Trinidad Chamblis coming in did for Ole Miss last year. I don't even want to finish the sentence because I know somewhere out there one of my enemies is going to say, did you hear him compare tape rentals to Trinidad Chamblis? And the answer is no, you did not. You did not
hear me do that. But I trust and hope and pray that you get the point I'm making. That's called Glass Half Full. The glass is like three quarters empty right now because I didn't see many things that were salvageable from that game the other night in terms of reasons to believe. Davos already had a couple of vintage press conference moments and that's always a sure sign that things are headed downhill. So I guess if it continues to track poorly, even if you're a legend, you don't get to continue this trajectory. You just don't. Davos or otherwise, you just don't. And Bradley, give me their schedule right quick. I don't have it memorized like I do Florida state. They play Georgia Southern this weekend. That game bears close watching. If you remember last year, who was it Jesse? They played LSU. They lost and they had to fight against Troy. So I don't just look past Georgia Southern, but after Georgia Southern, they got North Carolina as a conference
game. They go to Cal and then they play Miami. I like, you know what that Miami game could look like? So if we've already got multiple losses again, maybe a couple of ugly losses, I don't really know what the rest of the season would have in store, but see, unlike Mike Norvell, that's a conventional decision. Like if Mike Norvell lost his job, you could picture how that would look like. All right, picture how it would look. I can't picture what it would look like with Davos. I have no idea how that would unfold. I think in a perfect world, you have a mutual understanding that, all right, it's time. That's not going to happen with him. It's just not going to happen with him. Like if you've if you've never been around Davos, all you really need to do is listen to him. Those Davos is pretty much behind the scenes what he is on that microphone. And so like he is still fully convinced.
I'm the right guy for this job. We will get this fixed. All the things that he said publicly. He'll tell you privately. So I like Davos winning. I like Mike Norvell. I don't want to see either of the dudes lose their job, but it's a bottom line business and the bottom line is if things continue this way at both places or either place, you got to move on and you got to get someone else. I just I get I could pretty well guess how it's going to go at Florida State. I think it would be really ugly at Clemson. Unless I'm just missing my mark there, I think it would be really ugly at Clemson. The Don't Tread on Saturday tour is taking us to did hold on hold on. Pull hall there in the live chat. Jesse made a grave mistake increasing the font because now I can see the live chat. Did that guy just say I talk a lot on my own show? Is he talking about me? He sure does talk a lot. He wrote it in all caps. Should I just sit here in silence? Should I call someone? Should I call my mom
and put her on speaker phone? I think the live chat was a bad idea, Jesse. We'll talk after the show. Don't Tread on Saturday tour. Headed Ann Arbor tomorrow. Remember, we will be there a fairy field, I believe. I assume you guys up there know where that is. And if you're in Norfolk, Virginia, it's irrelevant. But here's what is relevant. The Don't Tread on Saturday tour has been a brilliant stroke of marketing genius around here. All right, that's it. Kick him out. Kick him out, Jesse. I trust you to do your job in the live chat. The Don't Tread on Saturday tours headed up to Michigan. The color theme shirts are there. So I heard you loud and clear and you said, okay, don't Tread on Saturday shirts look good. But what about the team color shirts? The team specific, the tour specific shirts. We got them all. PaidStateMaterial.com. That's PaidStateMaterial.com. And we will be there Friday, 2 p.m. Eastern time live on ESPN tomorrow for the world to seek. We'll be right up there. I mean, you'd understand what it's like to know that in less than 24 hours,
and there's no pressure on me. But I'm about to go up there and sit on the stage next to Taylor LaWan and watch him pick Michigan confidently, 5-unit pick on Michigan. And it's really my job to be more emotional support than anything else at that point. But it's going to be a scene. All right, I need the children to leave the room for a second because there is a very, very adult question, not in terms of mature content or subject matter, but there's just a question that's about to be asked on the show. And I want us to be adults about it because it could be very, very easily to lose your mind after I read this. Okay. Daniel, not so surprisingly from Montgomery,
Alabama said, why is it that the SEC goes 16 and no and you don't talk about it? But I'm sure if the big 10 went 18 to know you would throw them a pizza party, anything you want to say. Well, I'm a big 10 home or what else can I say? This has long been known about this show. I don't even know why people in the South watch the show. Everybody knows. Okay, it's big 10 or die with me. And it's always been that way. You can have your Georgia's and your Auburns and your Alabama's. Do you give me a good Saturday in East Lansing, Michigan, Madison, Wisconsin, West Lafayette, Indiana? You can keep the rest, but I'll answer your question. Congratulations on going 16 and no. But I pulled up the week one schedule. And so I want to be very, very specific about what I'm congratulating the SEC about. Congratulations on beating East Carolina and North Alabama and Missouri State and Tennessee State
and you, Elman, Ro and Kent State and Florida Atlantic and Texas State and Utah and Ferman and Austin P and Youngstown State and Arkansas Pine Bluff. Congratulations for going 16 and no. The SEC went 3 and 0 in week one because there were only three games where you played so much as a warm body and you do deserve congratulations for these. Louisville got beat by Ole Miss. That's a big deal. Auburn beat Baylor. That's a really good win. LSU hate crime Clemson. Yes, I was there. I saw it. That's a great win. That's a very, very good notch to have on the belt. But here's the problem. What was the guy's name, Jesse, that asked the question? Or Bradley, I guess you've got it pulled up in front of you. Daniel, here's the problem. Daniel, if we have a problem and I'm not sure that we do, but if we have a problem, it's this. Yeah, the SEC just went 16 and 0. The problem is if Ohio State goes into Austin and beats Texas this weekend, if Oklahoma goes up to Michigan and Michigan gets
off the deck and pulls the mild upset, if Mississippi State gets run out of Minnesota, you won't show up Sunday, but I got to be here. So you're going to have to excuse me if I'm not throwing the SEC a pizza party yet because Eli Drinkwood's handled Arkansas pine bluff. Might we want to wait? Just a couple of weeks, might we want to wait? Might we want to see what Ohio State's actually about? Because that's really been what this was about to begin with. The Big Ten has had more national championship caliber teams than the SEC over the past few years. I haven't even sat here and said the gaps all that massive. It's not. That's hyperbolic, but they've been better at the top. There's no evidence after week one that's changed. And look, they're calling me a Yankee in the live chat. If I am so beat Bradley, you worked with me back down in Columbus, Georgia. How many times did they come at me and call me a Yankee? The one thing you need to know about kids who grew up in Harris County, Georgia, the one thing you need to know about walking the halls of Harris County
high school there in Hamilton, Georgia. It's crawling with Yankees. We are the worst. Oh, Southern haters. These kids from Harris County, Georgia. No, all I'm saying is we haven't seen Indiana flex yet. We haven't seen Ohio State in Oregon, flex. Who know? Maybe USC has improved, but Texas gets to do it this week. Oklahoma gets to do it this week. In a couple of weeks, we're going to have Georgia play Alabama. Hey, Bamagos on the road this week in place Kentucky. Now it's guaranteed loss for the SEC there. But what if the, the quote unquote, wrong SEC team loses there? Have we have we really seen LSU tested? We don't know yet, but A&M will come in there and hey, before that they'll go to Oxford. So the SEC shooting gallery is about to crank up the kind of circular firing squad that is that nine game conference schedule is about to crank up. So we'll see,
we'll see. I do feel good about the SEC better at the bottom theory because after that display Rutgers put on the other night, man, I don't know who you have number 16 in the SEC, but I'd favor them by a double digits over Rutgers right now. That was a tough scene. You know Rutgers plays Boston College this weekend and we're going to talk about it in just a second not long, but we will briefly mention that game in just a second. So hey, maybe the SEC has reclaimed the crown, but you don't claim the crown in week one as Mima always taught us some of you didn't pay attention, but I did back in my old northern home of Columbus and Harris County, Georgia. I listened are you going to games this weekend? Are you going to games at all this season? If you are, you're going to need a ticket. I know how hard credentials are to come by. I know Eddie Redossamich. So I know how difficult credentials are to come by. So you're probably going to need a
ticket. And if you need a ticket, that's fine. I'm even going to get you a promo code where you don't have to pay full price for them as long as you buy them at SeatGeek. Go to SeatGeek and enter promo code, pay 10 at checkout PAT10 at checkout. What's that going to get you? Not free tickets. But it's going to get you 10% off. All orders up to $200. And any order above $200, you just get $20 off. So I know a lot of you were headed out this weekend. Make sure if you got to get tickets, if your Uncle Freddie didn't bequeath you season tickets after he passed, rest in peace, Uncle Freddie, then you're going to have to buy him the old-fashioned way. Now I guess the old-fashioned way would be a scalper outside the Windixie across the street from the stadium. The newer old schoolway is just to get him on SeatGeek. Okay, this is an important segment. We debuted it last week. There's a lot of viewing options this weekend. And so I and here to do the work for you, I am here to help you out. The Payt State Viewers Guide. Of course we got Thursday and Friday games.
I'll mention those at the end. But most likely you're watching this on Saturday. And so on Saturday, in that early window, it's tasty. There's some meat on the bone in the early window. Now you've obviously got to believe you've got Oklahoma, Michigan on your main TV, your main screen. And that's a 12 o'clock kickoff. That's Gus Johnson. That's Joel Klaat. We'll be there on the field, not on the Fox broadcast because it's a conflict of contractual interests. But we'll be there nonetheless. That's your big game. But I might suggest on the secondary and even tertiary screens that you don't forget about Arizona State. And Texas A&M, Kenny Dillingham is going into Kyle Field at 11am. And he's a 14 and a half point dog, but plucky. And I think that one bears watching. And also Dan Lannings going into Stillwater, Oklahoma at the same time. So organs at Oklahoma State this weekend. That's a noon kickoff on ESPN, 11am local time. Keep those side monitors handy because as that's
going on, I want you to just keep an eye, at least one eye on the CW. And you know how rarely I suggest this. But you need to keep an eye on old Dominion because they're going to Virginia Tech. The model has highlighted old Dominion plus the points this weekend. This is a noon kickoff on the CW. It may be that James Franklin and company take care of business. I think that one may be a little more competitive than it should be according to the public. And if you've got a fourth monitor on hand, Washington State plays Kansas State. And that's a noon kickoff on TNT. Everybody's involved. Kansas State minus 17 and a half. You know, Washington State fought Washington last week. And so they experienced the Demon Williams experience. Now they go and they live the Avery Johnson experience. Who knows? You move to midday. Now it's debatable what the big midday game is. So frankly,
there are a few different ways you can go with your main screen here. The highest rated game will be Alabama at Kentucky. That's a 330 kickoff on ABC. But who knows? Noter names get served food around the same time on NBC. So rice gets their shot. Jesse point spread check. 43 and a half. 43 and a half. So not even half 100. Okay. But on a more serious note, the most underrated game of the weekend is happening 330 on CBS, 330 Eastern time. Jenny Dell and the crew over there at CBS, they get Mississippi State at Minnesota. And that one's good. That's one of my favorite games of the whole week. Like everybody's paying attention to Texas, hosting Ohio State and Michigan, hosting Oklahoma. That's a really important SEC big 10 as well. So Camario Taylor's going up there. And he's yes, he's playing in Minneapolis, but it's going to be like 74 kickoff. It's going to feel great up there. Truthfully, it's a better time to be playing
there than it is at home. And that one's kicking off at the same time as Duke and Illinois. That's on FS one and Illinois only five and a half point favorite there at home. But this is the same time Arizona at Brigham Young's happening. That's the Fox game at 330. So there's a lot going on in this mid afternoon window. There's just not a top 10 marquee matchup. But I mean, if you're a hardcore college football fan, there's a lot to like here. The happy hour window. It's kind of weird. It's six Eastern almost to the prime time window. Guys Memphis plays Boise this weekend. And Boise is an eight and a half point favorite. That's a huge game. And that game is on wait for it. Wait for it. Wait for it. USA Network. Set your DVR slice size Monday night in the late 90s man USA network nine o'clock Eastern time. Well, this one will be six o'clock Eastern time. But could be raw. Could be raw. The prime time window is headlined by Ohio State at Texas. That's your 730 game on ABC.
But right before that, kicking off 30 minutes earlier in Atlanta, Georgia, pronounced the second T for the second time in the show. Tennessee at Georgia Tech. Georgia Tech 13 and a half point home dog. Brent Key, when given compliments about his team's physicality from Josh Hypele earlier in the week, laughed. He laughed at his own team. 7 o'clock on ESPN, FaZe on Brandon first game on the road. True freshman starter at quarterback. We got the SiHawk on NBC at 730. Texas Tech's going to Oregon State. Oregon State hung close with Houston on the road last week. Jamarcus Shepherd, friend of the program welcoming an other friend of the program. Joey McGuire. It's tough when your friends fight. Oh, it's tough. Actually, it's great. I love it because one of your friends is going to have a great weekend. That one is 730 on CBS. And you need to closely monitor what's happened on ACC network. And what a clinic.
The folks at ACC network put on during the inexplicable, you know, depression, error, ask power outage at Don't Campbell Stadium the other night. Who was who was who always down there? Eddie Royal was there. Jim Bo Fisher was there. Eric McLean was there. And then Taylor Tana just leading them all. Taylor McGregor doing sideline work that I don't know what anyone makes. But I call for raises for that entire crew. Maybe it's not even my place, but I do. What a great job. And now they get Georgia Southern at Clemson. And that's really off the radar, but it really shouldn't be. Clemson's a 20 and a half point favorite. I'm just straight up telling you, Georgia Southern thinks they can win that game. And the model thinks that it could be competitive too. And then in the late window, depending on how sadistic and twisted you'd like to be, ESPN is going to air for the entire nation Arkansas at Utah. That's something that's actually going to
happen. And Arkansas is a double or Arkansas double digit underdog there. The Friday games, I put this last because some of you will be watching this after these games already happen. Border War eight o'clock tomorrow night, Missouri at Kansas. And as you all know, the usual tradition on Friday nights is you crank up the Friday night game. Uncle Brando, Uncle Tim, he brings us in. He does his play by playing then at halftime. You got to fire up Instagram live because that's when Friday night lines happens. We'll be in Ann Arbor. Actually, we're staying closer to Detroit if you want another truth of it. But I'll be in a hotel room right around half time of that game Friday night lines at Josh Payt CFB. And Rutgers is playing Boston college. Friday night only ESPN too. That's really about all I have to say about that game. Do you realize someone's going to win that game, Jesse? Someone's got to win Rutgers, Boston college. I could see a Frank Beamer. I could see a celebratory headed to over time,
zero to zero moment there. Do you know Super Saturday is upon us? I didn't know. I knew a Super Saturday was upon us, but I didn't know it was Super Saturday. But Fandall Mike is reliably informed us that it is. So over at Fandall this weekend, in fact, if you go there right now, you'll see it. Super Saturday. What does that mean? It sounds catchy. What does it mean? Well, 50% profit boost tokens on any college football bet. Take advantage of this. And also 100% profit boost tokens on Ohio State, Texas. Again, take advantage of this. Our exclusive odds provider, the presenting partner of Friday night lines, it disgracefully last week. I forgot to save Friday night lines as a real after I did it live. Three years in a row, I've done that in week one. It will not happen again. But just in case it does, I would tune in live tomorrow night at Josh Pate CFB on Instagram.
