Hey everybody welcome in my name is Chris this show practices pure hydration hello there everybody thank you so much for being here today if you are a yacht club subscriber you got to hear a fairly discursive conversation on Wednesday's yacht club show where we talked about a lot of week two ranks and a lot of observations about what we saw in week one and what these environments might be as opposed to whatever everybody was thoroughly convinced they were before the season started and now we are back here on the free side today and we'll definitely talk some of that later in the show for sure I wanted to start by thanking rain Wilson who had me on his Instagram live on Tuesday with like
3.7 million followers that was kind of nice and I know that some of you have watched that reel which lives on both on his Instagram page and on mine you can see it if you haven't seen it yet it's fun it's like 20 minutes of us talking I'll put a link in the show notes today in case you haven't seen it honestly the best thing you could do go on over there right now and just mention in the thread of comments that I got the book I'm reading the book I finished the book it's really great because rain has a huge audience so like if those folks see that people like pound foolish that would be awesome I really do appreciate that in fact I appreciate it so much time for your snarky email oh you are so good
you're saying it's really exactly like angels saying we need to catch up on the mail bag it's been a little while remember you can send your snark to hey Harris at Harris football calm as always please let me know where you're writing from or don't that's okay too these are serious catch up emails some of these are from early august you know how it goes I will catch up here as best I can race roca from buffalo hey Harris I've been so good for the past few years but after you're opening to a recent show I decided to break the rule and see exactly what I was missing by not sampling august fantasy content in 2026 so I jump over to a certain four letter network site and the first article I see is fantasy football insurance rankings which backups are must drafts against your recommendation and my better judgment no click discipline here I click sigh incident regret the author proceeds to give one example of a backup who popped
last year then lists 16 in-cuff running backs yes he literally literally listen half of the backup our bees in the league in an article hailing them as must drafts to the author I say thank you sir for that is highly actionable information hashtag never again hashtag clisk click discipline forever Nate from Jersey Shore hey Harris look I know I just bought the almond act and you said you're gonna bribe us to buy the new book but now you started a survey company to and Nate includes a screen cap of the Harris poll offering a five dollar gift card for taking your survey Nate says the timing of this cannot be ignored five dollars practically pays for a quarter of the book that's a fair point Chris Derek from parts unknown hey Harris you're always imploring us to let you know we were writing from and yet many correspondence fail to include a location the reason is simple saying Chris from parts unknown it's just way way cooler than Chris from redacted okay Chris from redacted also kind of cool
but you get my point if you want more geographical information you really need to think about which behaviors you're you're rewarding I know you're against late-stage capitalism but it's okay incentives are early stage capitalism so it's totally kosher signed Chris from redacted PS I wrote to you two years ago the small joy I found singing one of the mixtapes to myself at a particularly tough time when my son was in the NICU I wanted to thank you for reading that email on the show and for the many moments of joy you've brought over the years my son is doing great and I can't wait to watch start watching football with him in earnest I promise not to let him read training camp reports I just wanted to end the PS there that's awesome Jim from near Narragansett hey barons hey barons hearing that you won't be completing the Taco Bell challenge I hope the outbreak of cyclosporod did not get in the way of your training for the marathon keep fighting the good fight Cole Helms South Texas hey Harris sorry to burst your gastric bubble but I need to speak up about a topic that's been in
the media recently I think by which Cole means on my show stress parts they are not real numerous bodily functions are subconsciously controlled by the autonomic nervous system the ANS is made up of two systems sympathetic and parasympathetic when one is active the other is not sympathetic equals fight or flight stress response parasympathetic rest and digest no stress gastrointestinal tract is active farts like Highlander there can be only one love the show Cole and South Texas great doctor blind spot for dips that's the law baby I just love it I mean I'll take the information about stress parts but the idea that a wonderful doctor in South Texas remembers Josh saying the doctor doctor Mike blind spot for dips Blair Harmon and Minnesota hey Harris just wanted to share an incredible picture I took of my toddler girl with James Winston is the most delightful picture of a toddler girl in front of a boost mobile that has a
two-story wacky waiting inflatable arm-flowing two-man and the toddler girl is absolutely delighted in this photo and it tickles me Brian Craker from Brooklyn hey Harris now that my lad Maconkey is almost two your Almanac gave us a new bonding moment yesterday morning I was laying on my Lisa mattress when I opened up the Harris football Almanac for the first time this year but with a toddler I rarely have a moment to myself and sure enough my boy burst into the room with the energy of a surf movie villain demanding I include him in my reading so I indulged him and read to him Almanac entries until he fell asleep on my chest to the words of a fictional captain waxing poetic about Drake May the show is so stupid Brandon Depello from parts unknown hey Harris long time listener first time emailer my son who colloquial refers to you as the funny guy has been on an absolute tear recently his favorite lunch is ham and mayo no cheese no seasoning he wants it every day now I have never seen a single minute
of dolphins rookie receiver Kevin Coleman play football but I hear my nominate ham mayo to be his nickname ah this show is so stupid Scott Dolan which tuck hands is hey Harris I propose Bucky Irving's nickname be changed to foot shoulder soldier knowing how difficult that will be for you to say based on the word cumulative maybe foot shoulder will always sound like foot soldier thanks I will hang up and listen I love how stupid the show is Matt heller from San Francisco hey Harris I have I have time to write you on this Wednesday because I have no podcast to listen to as I am one of the I assume many of your freeloader listeners who doesn't pay for your special Wednesday show or by any products you sell or advertise this is great man thanks thanks for copying to the being okay the email continues and it occurred to me what
do we call your listeners who completely freeload off you listeners who don't read books or draft guides sleep on the floor drink only water I do don't clean their houses and so have no use for blue land prefer store bought hotdog buns to actual fresh big bread etc do we call them stowaway possums dinghy possums puddle possums all these have some charm but I think the actual answer is doc raccoons not allowed on the yacht we still watch its movements from the doc intently we scavenge through the yacht's free refuse whilst the true possums bask on the deck reading their pre ordered copies of Boundfulish on the draft guide while eating their fresh bread and discussing the corporate structure of cumulative press incorporated we wait knowing that while every Wednesday will be barren there will be enough leftovers from the Thursday podcast feast for all the doc raccoons to eat their fill Mike Harvey from parts unknown hey Harris I felt I had to write in to express my dismay at how football
people have found yet another totally unnecessary combination of words to express something pretty obvious contingent upside check me on this one contingent upside refers to the fact that if the primary option gets hurt the other guy would have more value with this revelatory phrase in mind I got to think about other things that have contingent upside like my bicycle for example if my card isn't run my bike has massive contingent upside if my favorite Viori joggers are dirty these Kirkland brand sweats huge contingent upside the ice cream shop is out of strawberry all the vanilla has contingent upside see how smart I am this show is so stupid Josh sores cranson Rhode Island hey Harris in the bribery drawings for Poundfulish is it possible to give away the ability to draft for Andy parents in the movie draft as a bribery prize the thing is I hear you Josh but if you've been listening on Wednesday it turns out and he is gonna crush me I think for this two month period it only took a
year from to come back there are others that I need to catch up with and please do send more they're great man I busted a gut read these hey Harris and Harris will calm will wrap up today with this one Jordan Santos from parts unknown hey Harris I just wanted to let you know I happened across a fantasy podcast entitled plant my flag fantasy stars were all in on and couldn't help chuckle couldn't help but chuckle thinking I wonder if Harris got his royalty check it may have been the title of a podcast by a former employer of yours smiley face buddy knowing the way that particular network does business yes I am sure that royalty check is coming my way anytime now today's kickoff okay on today's show first up we will discuss some week two ranks and to help me with that Dave cluggie from football guys will join Dave has brought his five hardest rank players of week two and we will discuss them he and I will also
preview a very attractive Thursday night game lions at bills and then my second guest he is back from his vacation it is Jake Trobridge and we will talk about our fun draft Kings DFS contest that we've been doing on the show for 11 years now I think you have fun I thank you again so much for listening today we are in fact sponsored by wild grain today you probably have heard me talk about him before as the snark bag just indicated this is such a great time to finally give wild grain a try a subscription service that delivers sourdough breads seasonal pastries and French butter made by small independent bakeries right to your door everything from wild grain bakes from frozen in 25 minutes or less with simple ingredients you can pronounce everything is outrageously good there's no long-term commitment with wild grain you try a box you can change what you want in your box for month to month you can skip a month it's just
amazing tasting bread and especially the pastries oh my goodness the fan favorite apple cider donuts are back for a limited time order those before they sell out I have never met a single person who tried wild grain and didn't love it such a great company been supporting us for years I would love it if you tried them out visit wild grain dot com slash Harris to get 30 dollars off your first box plus free quessons for life again wild grain dot com slash Harris for 30 dollars off your first box and free quessons for life they are so good make an exam which with the quesson it'll change your life wild grain dot com slash Harris it's time for rankings talk welcome to the yard come aboard Dave clookies up on the podcast he's from the park eyes a friend of the posh
he's got two sets of ranks to win the contest he's got two sets of ranks to win the contest he's got two sets of ranks to win and here he is our first guest is in fact the aforementioned Dave clookie you can find him at football guys you can find him all over social media you can listen to him every day on his show the football guys fantasy football show it's a good one I've been on it he's terrific it's Dave clookie hi Dave hey Chris how are you doing we're just talking to a pre-show about how fun this time of year is having real football to finally watch after a long long break yeah long speculation about what the teams would be and it's Andy and I talked about it a lot on the y'all club show yesterday this this really is my absolute favorite week this this week of shows is so fun and
and of course we recognize that there are going to be a lot of things that fake us out you know the the the the Gerard Mayo Patriots beat the Joe Burrow Bengals on the road in week one one year and I was like see and then no I was wrong so like we absolutely might get faked out but it's still I said to Andy yesterday it's if you think about the delta of what a week teaches us from the beginning of the week to the end there's no delta like week zero to week one for you know there's more information to come we're gonna learn lots more but we will never learn as much as we learned last week yeah I think the main thing that I learned is that my mind palace was built on a foundation of what sand I mean we all have them we definitely have the mind palaces we're just trying to for me I'm trying to make our assumptions be as mean as little as possible but it's impossible to make them be zero so your task for this show was just as you are making your ranks for week two to come up with the five guys
you had the hardest time ranking and I don't even know who they are yet and they may be repeats from yesterday and I don't care because I want your opinion on them so let's just do let's do a list of five the order really doesn't matter but who did you want to talk about first I'm gonna break the rules right off the jump and I'm gonna do two for one because I was looking at Chris Brooks and Marcia and Lloyd and you know the Packers running back straight up we're to rank these guys and I have no idea because they both frankly looked pretty bad to me I mean like there wasn't anything that I could take away from either their game saying like that should be the guy that's the guy who's gonna get the workload next week so what I see is a frustrating split backfield I guess if I had to lean one way I'd say that Brooks looks slightly better you know he stayed behind his blockers came up just short of a touchdown but you know I look at this matchup on the road against the jets the jets defense looked a lot better in week one than I think a lot of people expected them to be so now I'm looking at a team going on the road against a tough defense splitting touches between two running backs that I don't think are especially good I kind of copped out and I put them both in the at RB 40 and RB 41 back to back which means that you should
probably bench them both if you're going off of my rankings but I understand why people would say no like these guys are getting enough work that I want to get them in my lineups you absolutely have my endorsement here I put Lloyd 38 and Brooks 41 I don't know I don't know it's it would be tough for me to really feel awesome about extending myself to use them it's it's it's funny we had Sam Gold on Monday and he picked that game so Sam talked about what Lloyd looked like on tape and he gave a lot of kind of technical expert explanations of why it didn't look good about like his cutting angles were funny and he he was kind of like when he needed to cut he was like facing the sideline so he's having to make these 90 degree cuts which you never want all of which was awesome technical analysis and my analysis was do that like I look slow yes and we done on first contact every single time like I you know I look at the analytics
somehow show that he had two and a half yards after contact for a time I didn't see that like I saw this guy every time a defender with touching he was just immediately hit the turf it makes you wonder whether they will take a look up Caleb Johnson at some point they can't have felt good about what that looked like you know to be honest you putting Brooks a little bit of Lloyd excuse me matches what I saw too and yeah like if I were if I were just gonna like break down individual carries I'd say I thought Brooks looked better the first carry the game was like 15 yards was the only thing any either one of them did and so I kind of admire the fact that you went Brooks a little higher but I'm with you like very difficult to rank those guys for and then the weird thing to I know we don't care what other people are doing but you know consensus rankings which will not be named have a huge disparity between these guys where they're putting March on Lloyd as the RB 30 and Chris Brooks is the RB 49 so I think a lot of people just look at the box score and they say well March on Lloyd had more carries so he is the preferred back but so much of that came late in the game I think this is one that like if you just say I want to bench both these
guys and just wait to see how this backfield plays out I think that's probably the best move this week good point agree what is the next player you want to talk about Kaelin black because I thought that he looked pretty darn good you know he is a hard nose runner gets downhill aggressively and those are all the things that we know Kyle Shanahan really likes about his running backs and the workload was there in week one 14 carries and a reception but then we get that story about Christian McCaffrey dealing with cramps so do we think Christian McCaffrey just goes back to his normal workhorse role and Kaelin Black is just watching from the sidelines I think in most situations I'd say you know just bench Kaelin Black and wait to see how this shakes out but then I see that matchup against Miami and I can't help but get enticed that maybe there could be enough leftover for Kaelin Black to still get a similar workload to what he got last week and if you're telling me that a guy who I think is pretty talented a young guy who runs with a really really heavy running style if you told me that he's gonna get 15 touches every single week I'd be getting this guy in my lineup especially against Miami but I don't know how much
involvement we can expect now with a week of rest and hopefully Christian McCaffrey not cramping up mid game that's a good one what where'd you line that I put him 40 so like right behind the packer oh actually like right between the packer guys did you were you able to get him higher I do yes and maybe I'm taking the cheese here I've got a bit RB 33 which I guess would recommend him as an RB three or a flex matchup if you're not feeling great about your running back room I love the matchup you know going up against Miami like that alone like could be the reason that you start him so I kind of feel scared recommending him as a start though because you know how this can go that you can put him in your lineups coming off of last week Christian McCaffrey gets all the touches Kaelin Black said there were two three touches and you're saying why did I start this guy yeah that that was my thought process but I don't find that that like 33 to 40 to be you know if you said I have 22 I'd be like well that's a real statement but you know you're comparing him to like an unseen Travion Henderson you know the the backup the Chris Rodriguez backup the the
Broncos guys like and if you're if you're comparing him to those guys and you just go hell he's coming off a really nice week where we got to see him play in the NFL and he absolutely looked like he had a home there I don't get mad at all I absolutely think that's like a smart way to rank it to be honest and a couple guys that oh sorry no you go ahead a couple guys that I do have Kaelin Black ranked ahead of that you probably wouldn't like think about starting him like JK Dobbins did not like the role that I saw and he didn't look especially good last week so I've got a Kaelin Black just I had a JK Dobbins Rico Doudal who I also felt looked pretty sluggish last week so there are some guys that you probably drafted a head of Kaelin Black that because you drafted him ahead of you to assume that you'd be starting ahead of but I mean I have moved Kaelin Black ahead of quite a few guys that I would have been drafting ahead of him just a week ago yeah that's the neighborhood that I'm talking about I'm not mad at any of that you can get burned the person who would consider using black and they don't have McCaffrey understands that they're taking a chance and and if you get a two-week sample size of a workload that
split like that where wow you mean on the first couple series somebody others and Christian McCaffrey is carrying the ball huh you know now it's not just about graphing and muscle tightness or whatever McCaffrey's had all this time it's actually just it becomes clearly a plan to mitigate McCaffrey to try to keep him healthy the thing we've been asking for for years with the 49ers please do this if they're actually doing it I think it's great for both of them I think it's great for CMC because he's always gonna score he's always gonna be good he's great player plus you know we rank Blake Korum as a usable player we rank second running backs as usable players and you know at Kaelin black is not Christian McCaffrey he's probably didn't show huge change of direction but I absolutely agree with your assessment that he like a one-cut hit it punish a tackler like cool that that works that's really good and Blake Korum I've got Blake Korum once spot ahead of Kaelin black so that's gonna where I'm settling in like these guys that are on good offenses that are good running backs that could see you know more work than I think people would have expected are
the Rams a good offense I don't know man they certainly weren't on a little sleep traveling to Australia but we'll see how they bounce back I'm not ready now right them off for one week I tease but I also panic because you know I made a lot of noise about Matthew Stafford how about a third player you want to talk about this one seems silly because it's Drake London and Drake London undoubtedly awesome player one of my favorite white receivers I know you're a fan as well Chris but then I watched that game back last week and it was so so bad Cooper rush is just terrible and like I don't even think he's terrible I think that he's a serviceable backup but I think on the limited time that he's been in Atlanta I don't know if he just doesn't know the playbook or what's going on but I saw Drake London doing what Drake London does like he was just bullying Jamal Dean he was getting wide open but we just saw so many bad throws I'll first play the game Drake London is wide open and Cooper rushes lollipops this ball to him like where it should have been like just a quick turnaround catch the ball pick up a first down instead by the time the ball gets to Drake London he's
getting swarmed by seven defenders we saw another one just bad at the line of scrimmage we saw another one just missing him wide open from five yards out I mean there was one good play that we saw where it was the deep shot down the sideline that Drake London caught for a 27 yard gain or something like that but outside of that like I saw Drake London getting open the entire game and Cooper rush just being incapable of getting the ball to him so if Cooper rushes starting again now he's got this matchup where Drake London is gonna be getting coverage from JC Horn I think Drake London is one of those guys that you just view as a plug-and-play wide receiver one but I think this week he falls into to steal your terminology the wide receiver three and infinite sadness bucket somebody we talked about yesterday and parents has him lower than I do to I lowered him I lowered London but I lowered him like 15 that's exactly right Chris oh okay then then because parents put him down like I can't remember 27 or something like he like really tried to communicate like I'm terrified and who wouldn't understand it so by the way
like I wanted to just because you you prefaced by saying maybe this is wrong because we're probably starting this guy I mean I your task is the hardest to rank players and I absolutely sat there with Drake London's name on my list going huh what the hell do I do after after what that looked like what the hell do I do with Drake London I'm with you that I I you know probably the way to say it is I didn't punish him as much as the tape warranted it probably warranted a heavier punishment and I couldn't do it I couldn't take my second ramp it can be like sorry you know I just I'm not gonna use you in week two but God I understand why you're talking about him and that's it you know you talk about how like tight everybody is once you get past that kind of like a elite tier of wide receivers so when I'm looking at my rankings right now I've got Drake London at wide receiver 15 I've got Stefan Diggs at wide receiver 33 but if I'm setting lineups that's something that like I am going to be wondering like do I place to bondings over Drake London because it's just like
that whole glob of guys from 15 to 30 whatever like it we really are splitting hairs there and that's that's I think the difference for me is Drake London was always ahead of that tier and now it feels like he just falls into that bucket we are sponsored by pre alcohol from Z-Biotics and you know I don't drink like every night but when I do drink alcohol you would better believe I make pre alcohol from Z-Biotics my first drink of the night I've heard from a whole bunch of listeners who swear by it one gent in Tacoma orders it in the packs of 12 little vials every couple weeks so they always have some available at their Sunday football parties it's the world's first genetically engineered probiotic developed to tackle rough mornings after drinking and it is science and it really works it truly does for me making pre alcohol my first drink of the night and enjoying responsibly I just do I feel my best in the morning but who cares about me you can try it out and if it doesn't work for you Z-Biotics
will refund you no questions asked I can get you 15% off your first order go to Zbiotics.com slash Harris and use the code Harris when you check out you'll get 15% off your first order with a total happiness guarantee Zbiotics.com slash Harris and use that code Harris we are back with Dave and we are talking about hard to rank players for week two and hopefully helping you make some lineup decisions what's another player you wanted to mention here as a difficult to rank guy Rashad Bateman this feels like a guy that you shouldn't even think about starting but then you look say flowers has heard Jacobi Lane is heard you look at the other guys on that roster Devontas Walker LaJonte Wester Chris Moore like there's nobody else there and last week Rashad Bateman led the team in Routes Runs we use very much so a full-time player in this offense but it was just running cardio routes you know 40 routes in one target is not what you want to see from anybody so this feels like the trapeist of all
traps because now going into New Orleans we expect this game to be a shootout Vegas also expects this game to be a shootout so I've kind of got him in that cluster of wide receiver three flex plays at wide receiver 42 but at the same time how can you feel good starting anybody coming off of a one-target zero-point game not only that but he's Rashad Bateman we just have such a long history of this this dude who there he has his boosters he has boosters whose opinion I cherish Matt Harmon just thinks Rashad Bateman is a good very good player who just somehow never circumstances have always conspired you know there's a game where he's going to be featured but the quarterback isn't right or there's going to you know and or the injured like the lengthy injury history right that's right that that's right like I can't I don't want to just completely disavow the idea that he's a good player and we just haven't gotten to see it yet but we've been through it so many times that I put him at 48 but again yes I
had like if if Zayflowers is going to be active and play I was Zayflowers just out of my lineup right now out of my rank right now but like that could be wrong I don't have no idea if that's right we're gonna find out over the course of the next couple days this is as high as I could get him I put it one spot behind Caleb Douglas and I was like what am I doing you know this seems crazy but I just have been burned so many times he's a dude I just can't see myself taking a chance on it feels dumb though yeah and I've got him in my rankings right now I'm also not ranking Zayflowers it sounds like he's probably gonna miss week two unfortunately but it's kind of funny when I look at my rankings I've got Jordan Addison and Rashad Bateman back to first round picks that have their supporters that like we think can still be kind of good but just has never really translated to consistent production so this is one of those were like it feels like he should be a start this week and if you've got Rashad Bateman you want to try to get him in your lineup of Zayflowers isn't out there but like I said how could you feel good starting a guy coming off of a zero point game when we got so much positivity throughout training camp that you know Declan Doyle had him running more routes and that he was gonna be
more featured part of this offense and none of that materialized in week one because he's Rashad Bateman you know because like it just we I never believe this stuff on Bateman anymore so it's it's funny I have Rashad Bateman and Mac Hollins back to back that it look cool I mean you know like I've just been around the block too many times with both of those players where teams were like well now we need this guy now it really you know now it's for real for them and then the minute minutes for real you go okay cool they can't get open cool that's awesome yeah I need I need Mac Hollins like I need a hole in the head and of course you know he's so good at the end of games Mac Hollins he's so good and you just wonder why and the answer is oh yeah because the defense is paying attention to three other guys and not covering him you know because he's not scary man-to-man but maybe that's wrong maybe we'll get a funny a funny Mac Hollins surprise maybe we'll get a funny Rashad Bateman surprise who is the
fifth name you wanted to talk about we bring up Mac Hollins was a pretty good segue for Romeo Dobbs the guy that I'm really struggling to rank because he looked horrendous in week one and I think that we have a big enough sample of him looking like a you know decent NFL player in Green Bay that we don't want to completely overreact to week one but you know that first interception Drake May through I think that was just terrible balltracking by Romeo Dobbs I mean not a great throw by Drake May but like that was very much so on Dobbs and then we see the drop on the wide open third-down catch and run opportunity so this is one where like if I'm looking just at last week's tape I'd say this guy is like outside of the top 100 he looks awful but then you look at you know the money that they're paying him and the opportunity that should be there in week two and there's also a difference in and you know this Chris like when a player leaves a game mid-injury you know coaches are kind of scrambling to make something work when they have an entire week to kind of game plan without that player then they can reset and try to make Dobbs a more focal point of the offense which I expect them to be but I also have this like lingering thought in
the back of my head that what if Mac Collins and Navarro Douglas are just better wide receivers what if Hunter Henry ends up getting extra work and Romeo Dobbs the guy who feels like he should be the wide receiver one this week ends up just kind of being a frustrating guy that doesn't do much again in this matchup that was a difficult one to rank I agree with this I agree with this whole list to be honest to each each person that you mentioned that I ranked I was like oh I don't know I'm gonna like that you and you and I disagree a lot when we do show together so it's good to have us just like not in the long like just a bottle had Joe like yeah yeah you're right where did you wind up with Dobbs one spot ahead of Bateman I've got him at a wide receiver 40 so I'm sorry two spots ahead of Bateman so they're both just kind of in that close like you know I kind of said like when I'm when I'm looking at my rankings I think the kind of cut off for guys that you feel okay about getting in your lineup for me is wide receiver 35 and that's where I've got digs and Michael Wilson and Devo Samuel once you get past those guys then it's Romeo Dobbs Michael Pitman Jordan Addison shot Bateman that we just talked about so like those are the
guys where I feel like you don't want to get in your lineup so I have Dobbs higher than you do so there's a disagree even though like the point of the difficulty of the ranking them is absolutely agree I just came up with a little more trust in what I've seen from Dobbs in his career and that there's I would I would be not shocked but a little bit surprised if he's an utter bust as a free agent he's just been a good player is he a wide receiver one probably not like this is a little miscast I haven't 31 so so I just basically kind of it's it's obviously not based on last week it is a leap of faith and it's you're absolutely right this these targets could be spread out to the point where nobody's valuable and and it's it's this good stealer pass rush and it's a run heavy game plan and it's like a rock fight that they try to win 17 14 because they're not afraid of the stealer offense maybe I don't know they lost to them at home last year I don't know but I'm I'm making
I'm gonna recommend people make a small bet that this guy who I mean he had hands problems in Green Bay obviously he had hands problems on Winston or whatever that was he got hurt in Green Bay got a lot of concussions that's on the table too but you know he frankly was a flake in Green Bay he had that week where he just disappeared MIA got punished you know that there's there've been issues with him in the past but mostly he's been a really good pro and I I'm just letting that sensation inch him a little higher in the ranks and burn me like hell yeah my brain but go ahead and I'd love to do like a study on this I just don't have time in season but it does feel like so often these guys that end up like hitting the free agent market and getting these big contracts feels like that hasn't really worked out all that well over the last couple of years like the guys who get traded they do well with their new teams and the guys who get retained by their teams with big contracts they do well but it seems like all of these guys who hit the market they hit the market for a reason
like if Green Bay thought that he was good enough to get the money that he deserved they would have retained him so I you know I don't I don't want to paint with too wide of a brush here in generalize but it seems like more often than not over the last decade or so these big contracts if these receivers getting free agency I'm looking at you Jaylen Nailer I saw you last week too in Las Vegas like these guys aren't really living up to the hype that they should have been Yeah I mean digs it okay for the Patriots last year you know it's anecdotal I'm glad you you qualified it for receivers because the running backs of I was right 100% they've been awesome yeah the receivers but something to think about let's do let's do this Thursday night preview a Thursday night preview of the Lions visiting the bills and these are rosters that are stocked with people that were mostly going to use fantasy superstars both backfields Josh Allen I think I mean based on Andy's conversation with Andy yesterday he's kind of all the way back in on Jared Goff as a top 10 option
and did you have more I think it's gonna be in most lineups and both of the line receivers and Sam Laporta I kind of wanted to ask you because I was talking some smack about Dalton Concade and I did not like his ADP I'm saying before the season I was I was talking some smack because his ADP was still kind of like bordering on that top 10 and we'd never really seen a world where the other DK on that team Dawson Knox wasn't annoying and boy we get we get week one and all I can say is holy moly like the the catch that set up the winning score good play good scheme got him open beat a beat a corner that was good the play right before half oh my God if I'd seen that from Dalton Concade I would not have been talking smack about him I fully gave in on Concade he's inside my top five for this week oh yeah same I moved him up even in my rest of season
rankings he was a big mover for me because you know the best thing about his game Chris you know more than the catches and the catch and runs and all that sort of stuff he started the week not on the injury report like this never happens like every time Dalton Concade is a big game he's seemingly ends up on the injury report the next week so I'm a believer in Dalton Concade and just the fact that he's healthy right now I think he got to get him in your lineups until he inevitably picks up some soft tissue injury as he does every single year but yeah he looked awesome second on the team in routes second on the team in targets I mean this is what you want from the fantasy tight end is a guy who's kind of operating as the team's wide receiver too and that's very much so what Concade is doing right now yeah these are my two and three tight ends for the week so let's get some tight end action from from this one and correspondingly probably that means if you're if you're a person who streams defenses I imagine we're staying pretty far away from even though that you know the lions I don't know I'll say the you know the weird game flow of that lion's saints game was maybe revelatory that that at some point the saints were able to come back and
whatever but it did feel like the lions played a lot better on defense than I expected given how many people they're missing in their secondary but against Josh Allen you don't want any part of that and I think that's what I'm probably most excited to watch tonight I mean we sell like DJ Moore had tough sledding last week with stingley on him and the lions don't have anybody of that caliber so we saw a DJ Moore you know five for eight with a hundred and a touchdown last week I think he could have an even bigger week I don't know where you've got him in your rankings like you said kind of a must-start but I've got him at wide receiver 10 this week I think he's just one of those guys that like we should be looking at as an elite wide receiver one in this offense 10 I got him 10 yeah wow so much agreement Chris we got to we got to start looking at some different things in button heads again because this is going to be boring show for the people that want some disagreements no not at all Romeo dobs there you go I'm putting my dogs in a lineup and you're not no but I mean I think to some degree that the topic this is a change format we changed last year when we invented the club this Thursday's changed and the guest
comes on and there's not a wrong answer I can't tell you Dave no you had you had an easy time wrecking that guy you're you're telling me that you had our but usually if it's a difficult to rank I everybody feels it ever so often you go oh funny I didn't have a hard time but with those five guys today I did of course we will review the Detroit Buffalo game on the show off the top tomorrow and that'll be pretty cool Dave so much thanks to you for coming on and making time on a busy Thursday morning you can find Dave on social media of course all over the place is KLU GE and you can listen to him every single week day at the football guys fantasy football show what a pleasure my friend thanks for doing it thank you Chris best of luck this week and I'm sure we'll be talking again soon we are sponsored again by draft kings the weight is over football is here and so is draft kings it's very cool if you've ever felt kind of shut out of draft kings because of the US state you live in

mean whatever has to happen has to happen I suppose I did listen to last week's episode I want to get this out of the way early uh... I I heard it all I know that there are various points where you had speculated I wouldn't be listening but I would be feeling some of the the vibes coming off of your overlap anyways and I think I did and I would have felt that even if I hadn't listened and we let's just like lend some credence to the to the trobridge superstition because neither one of Andy or I cashed we we we we absolutely crashed and burned the overlap players like we but we're good that was good we're chase that wasn't very good were you proud of me though that I picked the Cardinals defense as the cheapest one and then they went out and blew doors was that great yes I mean if we're talking about tropes on the show that exists for a reason I think we both had our moment in the sun in week one yeah me too well you know now we have some information and let's let's
let's actually pick some teams we have the full slate I mean not the full slate because we have no Thursday game we have the Sunday game we have the Monday game the main slate is 13 games gives you lots and lots of options where you starting for week two I hate to come out in my very first appearance of this season and tell you that so much of this lineup rests in the hands of Carson Wentz but that's where we're at week two I of course when I was traversing New England did happen to stumble upon a Packers bar so I could watch the Vikings Packers game the dog and pony tavern if anybody is up near bar harbour that's your spot but I saw the the light switch turn on once Kyler Murray went out and and Carson Wentz came on for Justin Jefferson and I know people were terrified of Justin Jefferson rightfully so after enduring the
JJ McCarthy and Max Brodsbury experience last year but I think people forget like when he has a very capable quarterback Justin Jefferson can look like his usual stellar self so I'm not only going with Justin Jefferson who is $7,800 against the Bears but I am as of right now expecting Carson Wentz to start and he's only $4,600 so I like that stack against the Bears against the Bears defense that kind of just seems like we want you to have some points you know because we want a force Kaleb out there to keep putting up record setting numbers so we're going to let you have some touchdowns Bryce Young like I like the matchup as well I have bad news for you no no no yes no once but Jefferson is on my team at 7,800 so there may be some taking ahead for you you know what I'm going to say even Juane Jennie or not Juane Jennie even Jordan Addison with Carson Wentz at quarterback might be okay so who
knows maybe I'll make a switcheroo there I mean I'm not on my account not on my account but you know maybe on your own I did I did I feel like these early weeks you know you you nail the I didn't know the studs last week but if you do nail the studs you just can find so much good pricing so it's Jefferson for me and it's Pajon Robinson I just took two expensive dudes to build my lineup at the beginning by the way don't crash your car these lineups are in today's show notes and also as I just mentioned during the draft king spot they're linked to the week two contest also in the show notes I also put it on social media it's the best contest on the internet that's what people tell me because they guarantee the prize so like there's overlay if like we don't feel the if we don't fill it they still give out the same amount and draft kings is not take a rake it's five dollars to play if you've heard us talk about it for years and you've never played you really should it's very fun so I have expensive guys 8200 Pajon Robinson 7800 Justin Jefferson
and nobody else with a lot of expense did you have any other expensive guys on your roster here yeah it's just so happens that I have this bjohn Robinson fellow at 8200 in my lineup this well but what heartened me is to hear you say that that seems to be the tip of the iceberg I have a couple of other very expensive guys as well I clearly went the studs and duds route for for this line up I did too I thought I went studs and duds but not like you didn't go the studsiest my man because I and I know why you didn't go with this other fella because he burned you so hard last week you and barons both that I decided I was going to try to get karmic retribution on your karmic retribution by putting jimmar chase in this lineup at $7,600 but you know what I did because I'm a good coach and I know how to inspire my players is he is resting currently in my flex spot which means he's got to work his way back but I think he can do it I on the yacht club on
Wednesday show yesterday and he said something similar about using the flex spot to deliver a message in a regular lineup not just dfs so I really feel like we're onto something here really spiritually motivating these NFL players that is that is some serious bread that you have laid upon bjohn just and Jefferson and jimmar chase it's funny Jefferson and chase in original recipe la legal abousky that we talk about sometimes on the show they've been on my team on that league for basically their entire careers and I did not win last week they did not Jefferson was fine chase didn't do enough and elsewhere we suffered a bit but I certainly am familiar with that combo I'm trying to even look at who my next most expensive player is so I also have a stack and in these in these like medium sized pools I mean you know it's not a it's not a small pool I think we can be a max over a thousand or something of listeners who want to join this thing but
it's not it's also not a head to head it's not a cheap quite a gpp because not thousands and thousands of people but stacks are a good idea we often endorse them unfortunately last year Jake was on a streak of endorsing stacks that did not work out but I'm sure it'll change this week I'm sure it I'm sure it will I am stacking some some buccaneers I have Baker Mayfield going against the Browns because it's a revenge game even though he's been on like a hundred teams since he was on the Browns and I stacked him with a mecca abuka so Mayfield's 5600 abuka's 6400 the feeling I had watching that Buckenner's Bengals game is obviously I need Baker Mayfield not to keep turned fumbling that would be great but also I just had the sense even though there were other numbers eventually acquired by some other receivers boy the plan really did seem to be a buca early and often so I am stacking Mayfield and a buca what do you think about that I love that for you
I'm I'm honestly I'm appreciating the fact that one of my earliest notions for this was to force a buccaneer into my lineup I didn't make it happen because I I did some pre-tinking for this line up even but I wanted even Jalen McMillan potentially if he's coming back to be in this line because I do just think it's going to be bonkers amounts of yards and like the defensive matchup is certainly no stress this year it's a totally different type of defense I wonder why I wonder why but yeah I didn't get any of those guys into my lineup I did however I don't what do I want to go with my next I do you do in fact want to go with my defense right now okay because I know that the thing on this show is to do the cheapest defense and I will always always appreciate that but if I have a couple of hundred dollars left over after I've set my main lineup Christian I just feel like okay I'm putting it out there now though because it's my it's the
Browns okay it's the Browns at $2,200 and I'm only saying that as a means I think that your stack is going to be incredible but maybe if somebody that's not one of two those two players could turn the ball over like I'd be psyched about that that's all I guess but I'm just saying you just if I hope it feels great that you doomed your lineup to failure by okay breaking first of all we both know that the odds of this being my final roster are not 100% fair okay but I do appreciate that okay I just wanted to get the dirty business out of the way so I could talk about my next highest priced person on this roster which is Derek Henry I went $7,200 for Derek Henry going against the Saints who at least in the first half of that game against Detroit again it was just turn style defense for Jameer Gibbs and there's already constration about say flowers eligibility for this other who is that you could be laying
potentially out I just think that Derek Henry you know when you can afford him you should and I could sure I did I mean it's not PPR though how can you use Derek Henry and non PPR oh wait when he scores three touchdowns is that good is that any good when he scores three touchdowns yeah laying out flowers questionable fair fair I just can't wait to see these last three doofuses on your lineup and you had extra money for for deep for an extra man I thought I went sozen does I did not so let's see my other running back is Aaron Jones I think Aaron Jones is going to be rostered a lot in DFS this week like you said the Bears don't really scare you on defense Jordan Mason is on IR you know there'll be someone else because there's always someone else but I feel like they're gonna try to ride Aaron Jones as much as they can and then mix in whether it's Demon Clayborn or someone else so Aaron Jones makes the team I tell you I actually may have
lied I think the first thing I did now that I look at it I think it was Parker Washington at 5900 don't there's no way you afforded Parker Washington with this lineup there's no way no no no no I could not get there I mean I feel okay with the other guys but I would have loved to have had a a Parker Washington type because he's only 5900 and you know the Broncos defense I presume will be better I think how could they be worse that was an unbelievable tackling display and you always worry that you get Sir Tan on somebody and suddenly the offense doesn't throw it to that somebody and they go after Riley Moss because Riley Moss stinks but Parker Washington moves around so much that it just doesn't seem likely I could get burned because Sir Tan maybe that's part of why this price is 5900 but that's low I gotta tell you I think Parker Washington's about to be like maybe a top 12 receiver in fantasy like it's not just the production from last week it's the way he looks he's just so good he's really freaking good so yeah good to have been on this fellow all offseason I
got to admit but yeah the one thing that concerns me about putting Parker Washington into my lineup every week is just is this the week that they actually trot out Travis Hunter on offense for like three plays and he gets three big receptions and it just you know cuts into into Parker's thing I hope that that does not happen I do not want to wish that on you although the reasons to be worried about Parker Washington Travis Hunter is about 10th on the list with the first big play that he makes will be the next one will be his first one not worried about that all right I got two receivers you need to tell me here because what the heck who are they yeah I went with Matthew Golden at 4700 obviously Christian Watson you got I know Packers honk it I'm totally fine with it Christian Watson got the headlines or at least any positive headlines that the Packers could muster but you know Golden looked like actually a true and obvious wide receiver two in green bay and that felt nice to see he out targeted all at the end but I was a little worried that it all
came at the end like sort of they were trying to come back but it's also 4700 I can't get too mad at you it's 47 it's such a modest price and if you know if any of those end zone targets actually pay off this time around I'll be happy with that I want even cheaper for my last wide receiver it feels really bad to say his name as a starter above Jamar Chase as a flex but again Jamar you know what you have to do my man Caleb Douglas at $3,700 because he got targeted a lot believe will this seems like that's his guy I won't sneeze at that at $3,700 so who knows maybe I'll luck out because that's what we love about ppr is just even if he catches eight passes for eight yards that's an okay day at 3700 and I know you don't have the tightest events no I couldn't afford anywhere close to the tightest events I appreciated you continuing the tradition last week I was kind of hoping that you might this week but it doesn't sound like it no
no I can't afford it I wish I could ball together the tight end of the flex then I could have afford a trimic bride but I had McBride that worked I mean how did I not cash last week but I wasn't like close actually who's your tight end it's so many guys I went hunter Henry at 4,000 the AJ Brown stuff we got overlap dang well that that heartens me though again that we have the same philosophy it's just right AJ Brown out security blankets for Drake May who desperately needs one this week seems good agreed thought about dobs to I guess I don't I didn't I didn't really think about Mac Collins but I you know I like I see the world were Mac Holland you know I know not really so actually Henry is my flex I have two tight ends we're you know this is the NFL in 2026 we play a lot of two tight ends that's I tried to fit three tight ends in this list but somehow my team cannot draft Kings wouldn't accept it but yeah I took Henry at 4,000 he's in my flex and Colston Loveland at 5,000 because it's hilarious that Loveland got probably the most type of any tight end
at least on my show people kept coming on and going you know I'm tempted to have Loveland is my tight end two ahead of McBride and I'd be like what you do you what now and then in the bears scoring 59 points coach Loveland doesn't catch a single pass but I obviously think he's good so at 5,000 he feels underpriced we've done it I'll just quickly rattle off some honorable mentions I thought about Bayesville Tutan because the Broncos couldn't tackle and Tutan is pretty cheap I don't think he's great but like he is not starting level expensive Woody Marx is real cheap 4,500 Devante Smith if you believe in a bounce back 6,800 if you wanted a couple of other cheap receivers but not quite as cheap as the two that you needed to grab Pat Bryant at 4,200 looked like the number one receiver at times in that game and Casey Concepcion 4,100 I don't like the browns but he was a big part of that plan early on you could definitely tell before things got out of
control Casey Concepcion they want the ball in his hands 4,100 I could see it well Jake welcome back I hope and I'm glad it sounds like New England treated you well all of my brothers and sisters and therefore you're back in your homeland of Minnesota just kidding and so so glad to have you back on the show happy to be back doing this with my friend and best-selling author Chris Harris thank you so much for listening he is too kind thanks to both Jake and Dave for being on thank you to you for listening and let's thank the three sponsors because without sponsors there's no show if you've never tried Zbiotics before and you do drink alcohol I strongly recommend it we had draft kings of course it's great if you check the show notes and join our five dollar contest it's very fun draft kings makes no money off that contest it all goes back to the winners and Wild grain early
