Let me tweet out live now, please. I'm going to quote tweet myself live now.
It is week two. We're about to have a second game for most teams, the third game for some teams, the first team for no teams, maybe some teams. I don't know. Chat welcome in. Thank you very much for watching. Thank you very much for downloading for thank you very much for doing everything. If you're listening on a podcast tomorrow, thank you for that on YouTube. We're almost 80,000 subscribers. I would love to get 80,000 by the end of the weekend. If you're watching and not subscribed. Fuck you. But if you'd like to subscribe, please do so so that my kids can go to college. I got one going to college next year and I would like to be able to afford it. It's probably alert. I can't. All right. So we've got a lot of I need the camera lower. I think the camera's too high. I'm not going to worry about it right now. I'm not going to worry about it. It's a negative space here. I don't like it's too much too much head space. Shouldn't have that much space. Anyway, Blum and come on in. Hey, Brando. Again, please like the stream. Every like helps. It would go a long way. Send brands kids to college. Some of my future grandkids today care.
Like the stream. Well, that made it seem like we're in dire need of likes. Yeah, sure, sure, sure. Sure. All right. So what we got this weekend is we got several big games. Now, I will say when we started to do week one, we're like, Hey, man, not a great slate. But we too is going to be awesome. And we too, we too fine. We too has got some things. You know, I think at every level of the slate, there's there's good games. I don't think it's the epic call your mom and tell them about the cause of all slate weekend that we made it out to be. But last week, we didn't think it was good going in. It was amazing. So what do we know that we should never ever judge a slate going into it. And I also like, I hate calling it slate. Casey, I was called a slate. I don't even like saying slate. So I'm not going to say slate anymore. That's last time you hear me say slate slate. All right. What we're going to do, Brooks Austin is going to stop by later the film guy. He's growing and growing and growing over there on his own YouTube thing. Go check him out. But Brooks Austin will stop by for about 30, 35 minutes later. We'll talk about Bryce Underwood. We'll talk about Texas Oklahoma Ohio State. Excuse me. We'll talk about Oklahoma State Oregon. We'll talk about all those things. We can't do some quick hitters for week two. But what me and Blum are going to do is this.
We are going to give you the Brandon Walker College football show watch ball watchers guide. He is the number one ball watcher in America. I am the number one college wall media personality in America. We are here. We're going to go through the ball watching guide together for Saturday. Now this discounts Thursday and Friday, which I guess you have the. They still call it the Civil War. Kansas and Missouri. That was never the Civil War. That was Oregon. What do they call it? What a good old fashioned. What is Kansas, Missouri? And why is it? Why is it going on order war? The border war. Thank you. I knew it was a war. My mind. I just. They stopped calling the Oregon Oregon State one civil war. Yeah. Cause there are a bunch of left leaning pussies. Right. Is that what you said? Turn face. Okay. Sorry, sorry, sorry. I'm face start everybody. Everybody love everybody else. Okay. So we're gonna go through the ball watchers guide. We're going to start at 11 a.m. the early afternoon slate on Saturday. This is what you should have on your main TV. Your second TV, your third TV, and maybe your laptop. However, you won't do it. Maybe your third TV is your laptop. But I don't think there's any secret. Your main TV game on Saturday morning, probably going to be Oklahoma and Michigan. And I was
I am absolutely doing back flips when it comes to Oklahoma, Michigan this week, because Liam, it is the greatest crossroads in my gambling brain and my logic brain, my football ball watchers brain. I maybe have ever experienced in my entire life. There is nothing in the world that suggests the Michigan Wolverines after I'm going to be very charitable here after a last second victory. Congratulations, big 10. A last second victory over Western Michigan where they hit a Hail Mary last week. That's last week. They're officially technically want to know. But after needing help from a conference, needing help from officials, needing help from everybody to beat Western Michigan, they now face a top three defense in the sport. Oklahoma and Brent Venables are in a lead top tier defense in the sport. The 151 nothing to open the season.
And now they're rolling into an Arbor, Michigan. I don't see a world where Bryce underwood the bust of quarterback at Michigan where that offensive line or that offense can generate anything. And yet it's a five and a half point spread. It is begging you. It is demanding that you bet on Michigan. It is screaming Michigan has a chance to win this game. And yet the logic side of my brain says no fucking way. I think I almost always bow to the gambling side. I almost always say gambling side. You're right. There's a reason this line is what it is. But logically, I think Oklahoma is a national title contender. Michigan is not. I think Oklahoma has a great offense and a great, a good offense and a great defense. Michigan does not. I think Oklahoma kills him, but are you facing the same logic and crossroads that I am? Of course. Oklahoma has a good offense, a great defense. What does Michigan have? A terrible quarterback. A coach who doesn't want to be there and a fraudulent victory over a mac team.
They spread it opened up at what? One and a half in the summer. It's got to the five, five and a half number. I really thought we've got up to a touchdown by kickoff of full seven points. If anything, it wants to go down. If anything, right now the line is juiced to going down a point. I think by tomorrow morning, maybe four and a half, which because people are using the gambling brain, but you and I want to use ball brain. And yes, that is the crossroads. And it's that meme where there's one you go, you go left or you go right. I don't want to go down either road. Guys, we're ball brain guys. We're ball brain guys. And Bryce Underwood is so terrible. So bad at football and they were and they were doing the whole coach speak thing, brown walker. Everyone was every, every single quarterback, every player this off season. Had the best camp of their lives. It's in the best shape of their lives. Now Bryce Underwood plays a dud of a week one shocker. And he's already dissing his head coach. What a great start to the season. Why would I want to invest any faith in that?
And the coach is like, yeah, he's a quarterback for now. Right. He's obvious. It's obvious like they're headed towards a breakup. So why? Why? Why is this line as short as it is? I don't know. And for that reason, for that reason, Bryce Underwood is my player to watch this week. Nothing, nothing indicates he should do anything. Nothing indicates he should be good. Nothing indicates. And if they're going to win this game, he has to not only be good. He has to almost be great. Then they can't, they can't win this game if he's bad. They can't win it in spite of him. He has to be the one to get him over the hump. He's a player to watch. If he is what he was last Saturday, they might lose 52 or nothing. Yeah, my, my thought brand for this, how easy do they make this game for him? How many deep shot? How easy can they make it? I don't like genuinely how easy is it going to be? How many short little quick hitters is it going to be? Just get the ball in the flat to a playmaker and pray that he can make a swarm of Oklahoma gang tacklers miss.
How is it going to be? This is a field position game that they're going to, they're going to have to win Iowa style. But Brent Vanibles is a psychopath. He's a psychopath and he's got 11 psychopaths on his defense. I can't imagine a world where Michigan is able to stay in this game. I can't imagine a world where Oklahoma doesn't go roll him and yet, and yet. That's why Bryce Underwood is my player to watch. Now, look, when we said we're going to go through the ball, watching guy, do you want to throw the ball watching guy up there? So so people can see what we're looking at. I like the little logo there, but I thought we were going to hold it up there. So I can sell. So this is the early slate right there. And these aren't the only games in that slate, of course, slate, slate. You also have Arizona State at Texas A&M. And I think you have Oregon and Oklahoma state. I think this Arizona State A&M game is tickling bloodmins nose. Am I correct? It is tickling my nose quite a bit, quite the fancy. That's my upsell or the week. That's your upset alert. That's so so A&M, who I think is a 14 point favorite. You know, last week they were fine, but you think this is a team.
You think this is a team that can can go in there and upset Texas A&M. I just we talked about this extensively a few weeks ago. We are we are we are in lockstep on the end and we have been for 365 days. I am not I do not see what there is to invest in that offense. I need to see I need to see Arizona State go out and make a statement this week. Kenny Dillingham is one of the most under appreciated coaches in the sport at this point because of how people are dissing this ASU team saying they're going to take a step back there. Six one team whatever again, he had Sam Levant, he had cams, Skabu and he had Jordan Tyson on the same field. They would have beat Texas in the college football playoff at Jordan Tyson was healthy but he never is because his bones are made of paper. He is in the lead evaluator of talent. They have guys at every position. Oh, just the chat. Welcome everybody. Let's see way weary wizards has it's pre recorded. Yes, you dumb cunt.
It's pre recorded suck my fucking dick. Thanks for being here. Pre recorded my ass. So here we go. We got ASU at an end. We got Oregon local homestay. Now I got to say I'm going to bring out a draft Kings read here. Okay, because my pick of the day, I'm actually going to do the second draft Kings read first because that's the one that has our Loki. Hey, Loki. Yep, there it is. You almost messed up by not putting both draft Kings reads in there. You almost messed up there in there. Just be better. Okay, be better. Yes, sir. I mean, go look Liam, are you getting a little sick of this? I've dealt with the how well, how many days have I been on this earth? The second thing came back from the hospital. I was tired of it. Well, 28 times 365. So that's like 11,000. 11,000 day brand walking. You believe this? He almost forgot those papers in your sheet.
He almost forgot the blanket from the hospital when he was coming home. Unbelievable. Which one is the one with the, so it's the profit boost one, right, Loki? Football is back and when draft Kings sports book September comes with a boost, all September long opt in and get a 50% profit boost every game day with the draft Kings game day boost pass. So when the big, big matchups kick off, you can get even more out of the action, a 50% profit boost every game day, all September alone, new draft Kings sports with customers sign up with code Walker and get 50% profit boost every game day. That's code Walker and partnership with draft Kings, the crown is yours. Now you say, Brandon, for your profit boost, what is your favorite? What is your favorite play of the weekend? What is your pick of the weekend? And it's right here in this 11 o'clock window. It's right here in the early morning. And I would like to see if we can't welcome back a program to major college football. If we can't get a team to start 2 and 0 who's been dead and buried, if we can't bring back a proud program from the depths of hell,
I would like to say right now this weekend when they beat, wait, forced Purdue is getting off the mat a little bit. Gambling problem called 1-800-Gambler 1-800-Mire reset. Connecticut called 888-789777 or visit ccpg.org on behalf of boot hill, Casino and Kansas. Terms at dkng.co slash offer limited time offer nationwide, based on sports book predictions and free to play sports contest availability. Ferries by state limited time offer. Purdue is I have the money line to beat weight forest at home on Saturday. That is my play of the weekend Purdue money line overweight for us.
I just wasn't that impressed with weight for us in week one. Purdue didn't play anybody played Indiana State, but Ryan Brown proved 300 yards. Good running back. Easy boy. Am I saying it right? Fama is your boy. Fama is your boy. Came from Minnesota, I believe. He's fantastic. He ran for eight yards of carry. I think Purdue beats weight for us this weekend. That's a little off the radar game. That's not one everybody's going to have on their TV screen. I'm just saying I like Purdue to win that game. What is your what is your pick? My mind is in the same window. Mine is army minus three and a half against South Florida. I'll be the guy say it. I'll keep it short and sweet. I'm not a believer in Brian Hartline like all these other people. There is a reason that he was passed up on for job after job after job and then it's up taken the USF job. I'm taking America's team army. Run the ball down. They throw. So why would army be America's team and Navy not be America's team? Navy is also America's team and they were my other consideration for picking the later window. My esforn half a FAU.
What about Air Force? Air Force is America's team, but they're playing America's team. North Dakota State this week, which crazy. North Dakota State opened six and a half point favorite down to one and a half. Oh, that one's got to make something makes it think. Wow. Air Force and North Dakota State are playing. Yeah, man, that's going to be a beautiful uniform matchup. It's going to be an absolutely sexy uniform matchup. Carous springs to with the clouds and everything. That blue sky. Should we do a sexiest uniform matchup with a week every week? Because that's up there. I've always been a sucker for those airs on the hell. Those Air Force helmets are. Oh my gosh, but I think it's one of the most under A in the game. White helmet blue bolt. What's better than that? It's unbelievable. And North Dakota State, you know, maybe one of the most unique looking teams as far as, you know, what their aesthetic is that you, even though there's other teams with the same color style, you look at it like that's North Dakota State. I know it immediately. Bang. They use that yellow, that gold so prominently when other teams who are the green, the gold,
they're not using gold like that. And this is where you come for your football fashion decks. A lot of people want to talk about quarterbacks and receivers and all that. We talk football fashion here on the Brandon Walker College football show. Moving along in the ball, watching guide, we moved to the middle window there on Saturday. And I think this is where shit could go haywire. This is where things can really get interesting. Bring it up, Loki, because I got some issues with our graphic designer. I got some issues with whoever's running the sticks. I got some issues with whoever is doing our layout because Arizona BYU is a massive early season, big 12 game, you know, two of the top what three or four favorites in that conference. Wonderful game. Gonna look awesome. Look over here. Look at those Mississippi State. Look at the walk in bully over there walking bully and I believe his name is Jenny the go for Jennifer the go for. So it's bully against Jennifer. I know what the point of that is.
Jennifer the go for is looking good. I think that should be number one. I'm just saying Mississippi State Minnesota. I think Minnesota is good. I like what PJ Flek does. They're very, very well coached. They're gonna try to run the ball. We're gonna try score 90 points. Camario Taylor. Can I just say I've been a Mississippi State fan for a long time, man, a long time. I truly, if you just gave me truth, sir, I'm just terrified we lose this game. I think we might go up there and lose this game. Camario Taylor's first road game as a starter. He goes to Minnesota. It's a well coach big 10 team. He had a couple throws that were big time mistakes last week that weren't punished. I think he's the man for the future. He's incredible. He's taken America by storm, but this just doesn't feel like a game we historically win at Minnesota and I have so much respect. So I'm terrified after the South Carolina game next week we're one and two and that's when we beat Alabama and other teams in Missouri and we start to put together or eat win season. But anyway, that's where I'm at.
Terrified in Minnesota. I'll have hopefully, hopefully, hopefully be pleasantly surprised and made to look a fool by my team, but it's just it is what it is. How the fuck is a state's game not on B-Walks main screen? See, I would like people, you're all penmenses that show up and type in this chat. I just told you it should be number on the main screen. I don't really understand. I just want, I've got the number one ball watcher in the world here. I got the number one cost for ball media personality. I got a ball and over coming here in Brooks Austin. And you'll just refuse to be smart. Come with me boys. Let's make smarter college football fans. I don't want to be the commissioner of college football. I don't want to be boring as hell like Tom for nearly. I just want to be have smarter fans. That's what I want to create. That's what I want to create in this world. Anyway, I'm scared to death in Minnesota. I'm beat just this weekend. So the second window there Arizona at BYU. What are your thoughts there on that game there, Liam?
Two wider sewers in that matchup. I'm really taken in eye to its Giovanni Richardson. There's a very strong sophomore receiver for Arizona. And then one of the names in college football legend, glassker, true freshman wider see where at BYU, six foot one, super fast, twitchy, great strides. I want to see how both teams get their young star like budding, rising wider sewers involved. It should be a high score and fun game. My upset alert is hiding in this window. It's not really hiding. It's the number two game there. I think my upset alert is Alabama at Kentucky. Alabama is 16 point favorites. Can I just say I stared at that line on my phone for about five minutes to decide if it was 10 or 16? I think it's 16, but I can't see in my life. I can't remember my glasses. It's 10? Yes. Let's see. I stared at it. I stared at it. I stared at it. 10 point favorites for Alabama. So Alabama, 10 point favorites, Kentucky, understein, immediately, they're much better offensively.
And it's what they did on the offensive line, going to get big time power for transfers, going to get in big time guys. Now Alabama will be the biggest challenge they face early in the season. Sure, Alabama's got dudes up front. But if Ryan Williams is going to continue, Ryan Coleman Williams is going to continue his drop sees if they're not going to be able to run the ball because they ran it fine, but their best running back was their quarterback last week. And I feel like you can, that's not a great to go on the road in the SEC. You need a running back who can get five yards at a time to go ahead and make the change a little bit easier. I think Alabama's going to win, but upset alert is absolutely here. Upset alert is right here because Kentucky, when you, and whenever you hire a new coach is in talks, is an intoxicating blend of hope and hubris. And Kentucky's got that right now. It just takes one big win to make people go fucking crazy. And this is their opportunity. That is my upset alert for Alabama at Kentucky. What else you got in this window, Liam Blum? Well, I want to stay on that game.
Really big test for both quarterbacks, Keelan and Mentiony. I want to see how they fare. Obviously you said one win makes the fan base so intoxicated everything. Well, how about what Will Stein said? Did you see what he said? What do you say? He wants the loudest environment ever this Saturday. He wants fans to bring in flasks. He literally said, bring in flasks, say crazy stuff to Alabama. Be outrageous. I want a hostile environment. I want to win this football game. At the same time, let's call a spade a spade. Alabama is used to going to Auburn. They're used to going to Georgia. They're used to going to Tennessee. They're used to going to LSU. Even the nastiest, most locked in Kentucky fan of all time will be googling fall basketball roster in the second quarter. Even the worst, most riled up Kentucky fan base and crowd you could ever get is checking their phone about the races over at Keelan. Look at this. They're used to hostile environments.
I don't know. God bless you, Will Stein, if we're trying to get him fired up, my wife has brought me my glasses, folks. Well, let's just check that line one more time. Mm-hmm. Check that line one more time. I already had it pulled up to be honest. Yep. Yep. There it is. Ten points. William. Is it? Is it? Is it? Concern you how old I am? No. Does it concern you how old I am? Two-kid haircut. I did get haircut. I don't know that I like that. Okay. I have. I might have gotten... Lookie, have I shown you... Let's do that now. Have I shown you, Lookie, the merch idea that I don't know if I've shown it to William? Have I shown it to you, William? I have seen it. Hi. Lookie, could you find the merch? Do you have it or do I need to send it to you? I believe it's in our text. Let me just send it to the computer and I'll pull it up.
Yeah. I would like... Because this is very contingent. Your hair and your beard combination are something I'm going to be trying to make money off of. I was thinking, what can we do for merch for this show? Now, I haven't officially put anything on sale. I've simply... I went to Quiggs and said, Quiggs, hey, advisors doesn't start until next week. You're not busy. Can you just throw me together a little merch idea I've got for the Brandon Walker College football show? And he said, yes. So somebody says Brandon Walker missed the early bird dinner at Bonanza. That's hilarious because my life is delivering my dinner right now. Huh? Oh, my daughter made it? Oh, wow. Okay. Okay. All right. Thank you. So I'm not going to graingreg this bird. Oh, that is not what I'm about to do right now. Um, let me tell you this, Brandon Walker. I frequent Quiggs desk. I go there often. Yeah. Did I two weeks ago say, hey, Quiggs, why do you have Liam Blutman folder pulled up on
your computer? Did he quickly hide it and make sure I didn't see that? Yes. So you were working hard being the being the ball, nowhere that you are. When you did see the finished product, did you think, oh my God, that's, uh, that's amazing. I think I said it was a mac. I was, I was in shock. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I may request to add more. Yeah. It's ready, Brandon. Let me see it. Let me see it. So, uh, chat, I just want you guys to help me. Would just say yes or no. Would you buy this shirt? This is, uh, get in. Get in there, lookie. Well, let me, let me really see that thing. Um, so that's, uh, that's the front is the Brandon Walker calls for a show. Look, of course. And then the back is, uh, Blutman is every mascot in America. Uh, this is the first of this is series one. Um, frankly, if I'm looking, obviously the Westbrook Kentucky one is, is, is great. Um, the Nebraska ones great. They're all great.
They're all great. They're all great. It's something that, that way, what the orange, you should be Western Kentucky's mascot. Yeah, it should be. I'm literally big red. You should be watching Kentucky's. Yeah, I had the guy haircut. Guess what? It'll be fully grown back in two weeks. No, that's how my hair works. Like, like, like, my phone should be ringing right now. And Western Kentucky should be asking permission to take you. Um, and by the way, chat, I didn't really need your answer. Of course, I know you're going to buy that. This is my God. Uh, my God saying a eyes crazy. This is a quig joint. This is a quig joint. This is literally your facelift. I know. How much top see, how topsy, Tervy is the big 12 all of a sudden because obviously Texas Tech is still considered the favorite. Uh, but I mean, I think Kansas State looked really good early. You've already kind of lost TCU is what you thought was a serious contender. You kind of already lost Oklahoma State is what you thought was a serious contender. Uh, does this game take on added importance because you've already seen a couple of fall by the wayside? Yeah, I think I think it does. I mean, like we have said so much, the big 12 that second spot is wide open. Texas Tech is the fact of Laura, Triann, like they're in that second spot is wide open. We said I think there were eight teams that we believe to be competing for our spot.
You dropped two of them. It's full out for a full out warfare to find the spot. It's a significant game. Were you surprised by the spread of seven? No, no, you know, that's a tough place to play. That's a tough place to play. And I do think one of the things we're not worried about, we focus so much on the AC on the big 10, the SEC, like the number two spot in either the big 12 or the ACC's probably getting it. Like I, I, there's a lot going on, but you can put yourself in a great position by being number two to force your way into this playoff. I assume you did a couple of years ago where they, you know, go 11 and one, they lose the conference championship game, but they put themselves in great position. And people say it's a bad conference. It's this is that it's not going to get if you get to number two and one of those conferences, you're in a good spot to at least be there in the end. So I think it's a gigantic game. Let's go to the night games and here's the big one. And it's the game of the week. It's the obvious game of the week. It's Ohio State and it's Texas.
And, but Memphis Boise, by the way, is right there. Anyway, the 6 p.m. night games, if you got Ohio State at Texas, last year this set the tone. And I know Texas goes back and they're like, if we just hadn't scheduled Ohio State, we would have been in the playoff. No, if you hadn't lost the Florida a couple of weeks later, you would have been in the playoff. But this is so gigantic because of the strength and the density of the schedules after this game. You know, last year, I don't think Texas or Ohio State really had the weight in their schedule behind this to scare them. But if you lose this game, you're in real, real trouble. And I don't think there's a guarantee if you win this game, you're going to be in the playoff. It's going to go along, long, long, long, long, way, but there's no guarantee because Ohio State still plays in the NSL play USC on the road, still play Oregon. Texas still plays that LSU. They still play at Texas A&M. They still play Oklahoma on the neutral field. So there's a lot going on for both these teams. I do think this game, and if you remember last year, it was two quarterbacks with a lot
of hype, both in their first real important game. Both in their first spot and both coaches were terrified of it. Both coaches were absolutely holding back and trying to guide their quarterbacks through and Julian saying which is a little bit better in archmating. But this year, I think it's the exact opposite. I think the rains are off. I think the leashes are off and I think you're going to see last year was 14-7. I think this game's going to be 38-34. I think it's going to be something like that. The defenses on both of these teams are good. I think the offenses are going to be better and I think you're going to see a shootout this time around. Do you think that's a bad read because of the quality of the defenses we're talking about? I don't think it's a bad read. There's two things I'm really honed in on here. It's how the Ohio State Rush defense, preventing Hollywood smothers from getting to the second level and breaking off 10-15 big chunk runs. That's going to be difficult to do. I'm excited to see how they the fun that. Texas has a great defense. They've got so much talent in the secondary. They've got three young corners in the rotation.
How does this youth and inexperience go up against Jeremiah Smith? How do they target him? How do they take him away? How are they bracketing him? Kid Chris Henry Catchable. He dropped three last week. Yeah. I think on the other side, you're going to see so much Cam Coleman talk from Texas. I truly think Ryan Wing goes the most underrated player in the country. I think he's really fucking good. He's on the other side. I think he's really good receiver and will be the number one at 130 other places. But he isn't number one at Texas. It wouldn't be number one at Ohio State. But anyway, I just think you've got a more seasoned arch. You've got a more seasoned saying the defenses are very good. I just think it's more of a track meet this time. I think it's going to be a very, very, very visually appealing game. Could be wrong because the defenses, you know, the talent on the defenses is overwhelming on both sides. I just think we're going to have an early season showdown between Saiyan and Archmaning
and for Archmaning, even in a loss, even in a 34 loss, it would be just so big for him to have that shootout moment. Of course, like I said, if you lose this game, you're in real, real, real trouble because of what's coming down your schedule later on. Boise and Memphis. Sometimes I've watched Memphis. They were okay in the first half against UNLV and the second half they were lights out. They were okay in the first half against Arkansas State and in the second half they stretched out and really, really asserted their dominance. Now they go on the road to Boise State who started strong and then faded against the number of the best team in the country in my opinion, Oregon. This is an early knockout game in the G6. Well, maybe not a knockout of Boise State loses it. But I guess not a knockout for anybody. It's a huge game, a giant game and these two teams, if you put the most watchable teams, like the top 20 most watchable teams, I think they're both in there. Mattis and it's fun to watch.
The two ahead of monster at Running Back is fun to watch. Memphis has a monster out, a one-head monster at Running Back and they have a quarterback who can sling it. So I think this is a fantastic game, Blumman. Of course, you know I'm a sucker for this. You know I am. That running back on Memphis, Jalen Carter has so much pro potential. I think he's going to be a contributor in the NFL one day, like a really, really strong contributor. It can't be stay enough. It's not elimination game, Brent. This is a pole position game. This gets you first in the pole on that grid looking towards the playoff push. If your Memphis, let's focus on Memphis here because we have talked so much about the schedule and the road games that they play. If you win this game, you should be what? This is 3-0, 4-0, 5-0, 6-0, 6-0, going into the two-lane road game. I'm not buying two-lane this year. I don't think two-lane is that good. That's 7-0, call it 8-0, 9-0 going into the, or 8-0 going into the army game or 9-0, whatever
it is, like significant for them. Now you also have Si Hall going Saturday night. I think this is the rare time where that's not going to be that great of a game. I know you throw out the records with these two teams and it's always ugly and it's always a fight and it's always just, I don't see how Iowa State keeps it close. I really don't. Iowa defense is kind of a peak year for them defensively and the offense seems to have found a little bit of something there with some skill position players. Iowa State just isn't there, roster-wise with Iowa. This is the rare time. I think I'm going to pick Iowa to beat the shit out of them. This interesting Brandon because I think that's the same thing I would have said on Sunday for Apple Cup. Is these two teams? There is such a large talent gap. It's a whole new staff for Wazoo. A lot of guys going here to Iowa State. There's the connection. I'm trying to figure out. I want to see the last blow out in this series. The last blow out in the series. I can't remember where he is.
She's, man. 42-3, 2016, Iowa won. So 10 years ago. 10 years ago, which, hey, I guess that'd be a nice little decade, history thing, whatever. Jesse Bob at the defense coordinator for Iowa State, young guy played a linebacker at South Coast State, bright, bright mind. I want to see how they're able to take out. Again, Iowa has a wide receiver, like a legitimate WR1, not some gadget. Well, that's on feel-right. Don't feel right from UTRGV, Dutoni Diaz. How is this guy on Iowa? I don't understand it. You're main playoff contenders there in the Big Ten or Oregon, Indiana, Ohio State. I think you can put Michigan off of that list for right now. Penn State's right there. But then I'd say Penn State and Iowa are the next two teams after the Big 3. Unless I'm just missing somebody obvious, I think that's them. Rocket money. I also have in that late window the Liam Blutman cover your eyes Memorial Game of the Week. And it's a team that I just want to bring as much attention to as possible because we
discovered them in week zero. When Northwestern State lost to Louisiana Christian in an IA school and then the next week they were down 77 to three to La Tech in the middle of third quarter and up losing 80 to six. And now this week I believe it'll be the only match up in week two of two oh and two teams. It is Northwestern State against East Texas A&M formerly Texas A&M commerce. So that's my cover your eyes game of the week. If that's on your TV go to a movie do something else do whatever else you want. I do I do wonder that LSU law tech game. I haven't given myself enough time to study a lot tech but that line was 30 is it 33 35 and a half I was about to ask you about it lane covers big spreads. Yeah I would I would have thought that would be like 44 and a half coming off of what they
did to Clemson 35 and a it's silly to say 35 and a half is is not a big spread it is. But like Lane is a big spread minutes. He's he's a guy that will score if he's up 69 nothing with 30 seconds left he'll score to go up 76 nothing like he doesn't have a problem with it. So I just I think if you're looking for you know some gambling angles here that's one to look at. I mean the guy was going for two up 44 to three or whatever it was. He's going to get every point possible. There's a game that tickles my nose a little bit to I don't have a category for it but that pit UCF game is something that has my intention. I think UCF's a little bit better than people have given him credit for. I think last year that Grinch defense actually came along pretty good but now they're facing Mason Hintchill who through 450 yards and seven touchdowns last week. I don't even know what window that's I think it's early. It's the afternoon window. It's stacked. There's a lot of good games in that 230 central spot. Just I just want to go over a couple of just gambling picks that I made that I'm thinking
about. I don't have a full card here but I Purdue money line to beat Wake Forest. Alabama Kentucky over 49 and a half. That just seems like a low number to me. I do think with the offensive line improvements and with the new offensive minded coach I think Kentucky can get 21 28 and if Alabama was to beat I just think that's a low number. So I got over on that one. I got Texas minus one and a half against Ohio State and obviously Ohio State is one of the great programs in the country and a great team but this needs to be a this. Sart needs a win like Sart needs a big one. Sart needs one that he can point out and say this is why we're doing this shit. He needs it worse in Ohio State does that's just that's that's a very very rudimentary reading of the game but they're at home. What's your excuse if you don't win it? What's your fucking excuse if you don't win this you got to be desperate to win this game of Ohio State needs to want to win this game. Texas has to fucking win this game. I like Texas minus one and a half. I got a little parlay over in over in the planes Auburn whose defense is very very good.
They're playing Southern miss. I like Auburn minus 33 and a half and under 56 and a half in that game. I like Auburn to win like 42 to 3. Southern miss just not not there. I like Auburn to to thump him and keep the score low. So that's one of those you're kind of trying to thread a little needle right there for Auburn to score a lot and Southern miss to score a little. I think you can do it. Those are just my gambling brain mine or my gambling mind things that I got this weekend. I got to do a couple of ads. We're going to get to Brooks Austin. So do you have any other games that you wanted to mention we haven't mentioned yet? Well, we glossed over Oregon Oklahoma State. We did gloss over that. How does a very hungry and determined Oregon defensive line just mall in Oklahoma state offense align that looks tumultuous also do you see what Drew Mestermaker commented on Tik Tok, we're in that time of the sport now. What did Drew Mestermaker comment on Tik Tok? Oklahoma State fan put out like a three minute video like man look at me I'm wearing my Barry Sanders jersey or whatever. I have pride in this school when you wear this jersey I need you guys to show some pride. Drew Mestermaker friend of the program loved the guy commented Seth next week will be different.
Hang loose. Oh, okay, okay. Well, I mean next week is next week is now it's going to have to be real damn different because last week was was pretty depressing and not only that it's not like Oregon went out in steamroll boys like Oregon's got some things to prove to Oregon needs to come out play better football play cleaner football play you know don't look like they're just going through the motions for a half they need to come out and like really thump somebody. It's interesting it's it's one of those it's like the Michigan OU thing right it's nothing nothing nothing my eyes have told me says Oklahoma State can keep that within 23 and half something like that yeah nothing tells me they can do it but it's week two and it's still early so who knows who knows. Um all right last ad then we're going to bring in Brooks Austin to talk about talk about ball these ball no you respect him as a ball no correct of course I do friend the program too. This show sponsor by better help if you could wake up tomorrow and be better at one thing
what would that be why. Um it's a tough one for me to answer them so damn good at everything I guess a little bit better at college football 27 because I did throw an interception. Uh tray tray went my five star sophomore through an interception he's he's at 44 touchdowns and six interceptions now. Uh now of course Zach Parms scored twice and my god Jamison Humphrey's is a minus 20 outside and listen John Case for hard is running that rock right now so there's my update where we're 11 and 0 was just beat Oklahoma 56 24. Um case for hard John Case for hard myself more running back from Tulsa yes thought. I got I got no I'm in 2035 dude I'm in 2035 my my starting running back right now in real life is what nine years old so I don't know what to tell you better as a feeling is defined by you and for better help it's a better help therapist who really gets you. What are we about to do brand or about to do the interview with with old well we go to whatever's up man what we don't we don't we don't have time for a few things and we don't have time to go into the tablet game of the week which is the UTSA text state we don't have time to go into the salty Sean Lewis I love Sean Lewis salty comments from him about you say like as he didn't catch up we have time to get into the brown walker coach football playoff projection we have time for anything. All right look you do you have my playoff ready. You know Brandon I messed up. It's the unfortunately we'll have to wait till Saturday night for my playoff so I apologize all right I apologize but we will be back Saturday night and do our weekly chaotic whatever
we're going to call that thing and last week it was crazy over 160,000 views on our Saturday night live show last week and we will be back every single Saturday night and this week will be right after Ohio State and Texas so I expect a pretty crazy show but right now we got Brooks Austin the film guy he's got a great YouTube channel himself and he's joining us right now to talk week two talk a little ball go ahead looky. All right film time the film guy check him out check out his YouTube channel I he's blowing up as as well as well deserved Brooks Austin has joining us he he's a guy that when he gets a tape on Sunday maybe even Saturday night I don't know gets a tape on Sunday just grinds it gets in there figures out why we saw what we saw what's up Brooks nothing much yeah we started on Saturday afternoon inside the the press box over there and LSU because we had we had a rain delay to our rain do it so we're grinding some tape in the press box people walking by like the hell is he doing over there you know just just doing my job I
know you're I know you're the film guy but you did get eyes in person on LSU and what I did immediately after seeing LSU play the football game was I had a group of seven teams that went in the national title I expanded that to eight through them right in that group had no problem doing it is that what you saw with your eyeballs yeah and it was a lot of it like I was watching it from the press box I'm like dang that doesn't really look like the Ole Miss offensive system like they've changed a lot they're doing a lot of different things and then I get back home and I watch the film and they're doing things that they never did at Ole Miss or at least hadn't done in the last three or four years from a run game scheme like they're they're a wide zone football team now where that's not what they were at Ole Miss like they're playing out of the pistol a lot of pre snap motion a lot of a lot of I wash a lot of stuff that they weren't doing at Ole Miss and I could understand looking back at it why Clemson got caught with their pants down like they were they were prepared to do to defend one type of offense and we're getting something totally different so the the constant like changes they try to wash junior and lane kiffin due to
this offensive system I think is something that we don't talk enough about like everybody prepares for the pace everybody prepares for for quarterback run game and stuff like that but to get out there and face something totally different than what you were expecting to face while on the road while getting your brains beat in I kind of felt I kind of felt sorry for those Clemson defenders because their coaching staff got taken for a walk for four quarters and they're out there with their palms up having no idea what to do so it was a tough matchup no doubt you think Lane changed based on what his quarterback can do and has done at Arizona State did he just kind of meet this quarterback in the middle or was it a completely out of left field yeah I'm fortunate enough to wear this platform has got large enough where other coaches are listening and other coaches open lines of community communication so when I was watching the tapes Sunday afternoon I I call some people at LSU and I'm like hey why are you all the sudden of wide zone football team and their answer was well our our tackles are extremely athletic right our centers are tremendous athlete as well it's a little bit saw it off he's like 6-1 295 pounds
and runs wide zone and outside zone full work really well so they're tweaking that to the skill sets of their athletes which by the way that is the sign of coaching to me I've always hated when football coaches are like well you go coming here and do what we do this is what we do here the that's not football coaching the best football coaches tweak and twist things to excite the skill sets of their their football players and that's exactly what they're doing and they don't have a traditional x wide receiver they don't have a guy that's like great outside the numbers most of their great talents like the the Winston-Walkins kid the Eugene Wilson kid the trade-as green guy like those guys are in between the numbers football players where last year at Ole Miss they had to John Stribling the world found out about do South Xander like they had good outside the numbers wide receivers here go Ole Miss and now now most of their weaponry is you know closer to the box so a lot of that is due to to skill sets which credit Charlie Weiss and credit Lane Kiffin that's that's good coaching. Last year the big game early in the season was Ohio State hosting Texas Ohio
State 114 to 7 this year Texas is hosting Ohio State in week two is the big game is the big game this weekend is the marquee game and last year my read on it was arts went into the horseshoe went in the shoe he went wasn't quite ready and and he showed the next couple of weeks after that he wasn't quite ready to be what he ended up turning into towards the end of the year having watched him I'm sure the other day is he more ready now for this challenge than he was and is he ready enough to win this football game I certainly don't expect him to go out there and throw ducks for four quarters like he did on the road in Columbus last year and and also think both those coordinators when I went back and watched that game last year I thought both of those coordinators called the game not to lose right we don't we have great defenses we have relatively solid run games let's just not put the freshman quarterback of the first time starting quarterback in a bad position on both sides of the ball I felt that way with with Julian saying now obviously he makes the big play late to carnal tape that flipped that game on his head and Texas did a lot of things
to take away Jeremiah Smith in that football game as every coordinators should be doing sure um but when I went back and watched that last year I thought hey like look we got two brand new football players first game of their lives in a massive massive situation like this let's just not let them lose this game whereas you look at it this year and you got you know arch played the last seven games I thought really really well last year they started to take the the reins off of him a little bit um and Julian saying finish the the year in the Heisman conversation so I think you go into this football game a little bit more aggressive on the offensive sides of the football because you should trust your quarterbacks a little bit more um also very curious to see like man that's a that's a bad first start to roll out against the you know Ohio State in you know Columbus Ohio and and play him front of that crowd but that defense that they had over there Ohio State wasn't just littered with elite talent it was littered with football players that were used like Swiss army knives and could be all over the field whether it be RVL Reese sunny styles or Caleb
Downs like yeah they were doing a lot of lying to him pre snap map Patricia was using those chess pieces in a in a really incredible way I'm very curious to see are they in a position now at a Ohio State where they're still immensely talented but you don't have those unique players that can do like all kinds of different things like Jalen McLean is a great safety but I don't think we can let him do all of the things that Caleb Downs was able to do from a a schematic standpoint so long story short our things defensively a little bit more basic which allows arch to be a little bit more comfortable and trust what he's seeing he got played with for four quarters by Caleb Downs in that football game last year and it create a lot of hesitation for a quarterback in his first start and it's Texas more prepared offensively this year to be able to exploit them and make them play more basic and make them not be as exotic and everything because now you're not just worried about Ryan Wingo you got to worry about Kim Coleman on the other side you got to worry about this two headed monster tail back it feels like Texas kind of kind of took took their chick mate
last year looked at the boards that all right I'm putting these pieces out of here now now let's see what you got to do so I got a two-part question about Michigan and Oklahoma which coming in the season we would have said was another big game and I guess it is a big game but there's two part question here everybody in the country saw Bryce under which struggle might lead out of the everybody in the country might have had an opinion could he turn around this year some people have already made up their mind I know you went back and watched it there's just no way you didn't go back and watch what went wrong is he salvageable is he is he turn aroundable is what happened the other night possibly a one-off this season or are we starting to get too far down the road on him not being very good in college football just really didn't make any progressive steps at all from a seeing the field and reading defense's standpoint a lot of mistakes a lot of consistent mistakes a lot of basic stuff that we cannot do at the quarterback position so no I'm at I'm at the point now where sometimes we just don't ever we can't ever see the field yeah we don't ever like really read the
defense properly right like you you can go on the list of all the immensely talented quarterbacks that never quite are able to read defenses sure and ever see what's going on and nowhere we're exposed to work um I don't even see it from a standpoint of I don't think we know where to start we don't know where to start our progressions right like most of these offensive systems are predicated off of hey yeah if they're playing covered to we're going to start on this side of the field and we're going to read this concept and there's one two and three right yeah right but one Brandon one two and three change off what the defense is doing to us yeah the defense lines up and one thing the the the play on the paper might start one two three but when we get out there now it's supposed to be one two three on the other side we're supposed to flip the progression um I don't even think we can get that done at a high enough rate right now um I am tremendously terrified for for Michigan for what they're about to face. Venables is a lunatic let me tell you some Brooks what's up if if if I had a struggling quarterback and I did what I did the other day
and got out there with the win I think if you gave me a pick over the entire country which coach and defense I wouldn't want to face next it is this coach and it is this defense so the reason and I didn't interrupt you there I apologize but you're good but why is it five and a half points Brooks I know you're you why isn't why doesn't Vegas think this is going to be a blowout is my question because everything looks like it's a blowout. Maybe they think Michigan's defense can rock like this thing yeah maybe they think they can turn this into a 14 to 10 football game somehow some way um I'm not of that belief um I am of the belief that this line on Wednesday is five and a half when we record this I would imagine that line's gonna bump closer seven and a half maybe eight as the game approaches um I expect some movement there I don't know what Vegas knows um maybe they haven't gotten a full grasp of this Oklahoma offense I think the nation's gonna figure that out this weekend they're gonna expect this like Ben Arbuckle, Wazoo, Oklahoma,
John Matier offense from a year ago that's not what they are anymore if you didn't watch that you tab game last week you don't know they're a 12 personal football team they lined up in the eye they got into 13 person on the red zone hell I saw 14 person overall out there like Jason Wynton and I think Kevin Smith is the guy's name they hired a new head coach of the offense and like assisting offensive coordinator that's a totally different football team they they're doing different things offensively um you type had no idea how to even line up based off what I saw so I would imagine most people just don't know maybe what what they got going on and to be honest with you like I'm not the big Vegas insider or whatever Brandon but Michigan's a big brand and I don't think anybody the masses the masses aren't picking Oklahoma to destroy them just yet um but I expect that line to move maybe I have no idea now I'm like you though and my dad taught me this from a young age don't don't think you're smarter than that that that group of people out there that set them lines because they don't agree yeah not normally you're gonna be um so I'm curious
about it and when you get to the point you do think you're smarter than them that's when they're absolutely lighting up cigars and they're they're having a good time um how disappointed were you in the started Oklahoma state and messed a maker and what happened at Tulsa yeah I mean I I had I'll put my hand a lot of people I had a my precedence top 25 yeah I thought offensively that this was gonna be like one of those old school big 12 football teams that could just outscore you um but to watch them get man handled at the line of scrimmage was a little bit terrifying to be honest with you for someone who held that much stock for them um but I don't know maybe they can get it right I do believe in Eric Morris as a offensive play caller and designer I do wonder sometimes these guys that go from you know shaking hands and kissing babies down there at North Texas to now we're at a power four job and we're still trying to maintain some of this play calling responsibilities yeah and your duties as a head coach drastically change um all these guys
figure this out they go from mid major coaching to being able to handle all the hats that they're trying to wear to make sure they're offensive still they're offense yeah and then they get to a new job at a power four school and it's like hey on Tuesday we need you to beat meet with the billionaire hey on Wednesday you got to go speak to the first year enrolled students hey on Thursday it's like when do I get to coach football like and that that looked like one of those situations potentially but that doesn't explain why their offensive line was getting ran through I don't I don't understand what that is it's a it's a small time mayor in California that all of a sudden gets elected governor and you're like all right all right so governor now you now what are you gonna do about this and like what what are you talking about what am I gonna do about this I gotta go handle handle this issue um couple of questions uh just going down the line here uh you give Kentucky any shot against Alabama I know this is a big it's it's early in the 10 year there for for Stein and uh early returns are good and Keelan Russell early returns on him are good too so what do you make of this one I thought both of those offenses were extremely vanilla and week one as they should be playing teams that were drastically outmatched from a talent standpoint um very
curious to see if Alabama tweaks their run game a little bit more because I know the box score said it was really good um but the longest rush of the day was from their quarterback on a scramble on the first series of the football game um no run no running back had to carry more than 13 yards against the defense from ECU that is not the caliber of even like a Kentucky should be this weekend so wondering if like did we really solidify those problems did we really get better up front or did it just look like that on the box score um we'll find out this weekend but I do think they were very very basic and I think DeBor even talked about that in this press conference this week he was like I know Will didn't call his full offense I've seen that offense from Will Stein at Oregon that's not what it looks like week one against young stowstay as it shouldn't it should be base one week day one week one install when you play these tomato cans and you should be able to handle them with the with the most vanilla form of your offense you ought to be able to go out there spam four varts and half back ISO and win the football game 48 to 10 and that's what both of these football
teams did so very curious to see like that first couple of possessions when we're actually starting to unload the clip a little bit on both sides of the football have these defenses react but I don't think Kentucky's got any answer for a football player like Janze Pierre and to be honest with you if you haven't paid attention this guy took Kweir's house job last year Kweir's house got hurt but Kweir's so came back and it was like no no no no no no this is Janze Pierre's job and since it's been him that guy has been one of the most disruptive and and destroying type of defensive players that we have in college football and there's really no answering for him or or or dedicating game plans to him because they constantly move him he just floats around the defense over there for Kane Womack and you can't really set protections to him you can't set run run blocking schemes towards him because you don't really know where he's going to be and that's pretty terrifying for a guy who's six three and a quarter 248 pounds and can do just about anything last week Brandon I don't know
is ECU last week he had three tackles for losses a sack of a half and a pick six pretty good pretty good and it feels like and it feels like his even for an Alabama defender especially it feels like his name and his his his hype hasn't caught up to how good he is which is you know for again for an Alabama defender usually the height comes first and then they show yep I'm worth the hype and that that's been the that's been everything that Alabama has done over the last 20 years now were a weekend but there's still teams that probably look good against a nobody last week there's still teams that were probably not talking about enough who is a team that you think she was marinating on the stove right now nobody's thinking about him nobody's talking about him but then you look up in week six week seven and they're like oh okay this is a legit team who fits that description to you yeah look I'm not trying to just get you all hyped up and talk sweet nothings in your ear but it is Mississippi State Mississippi State is the team in the SEC this year that's going to ruin somebody's playoff chances I'm not saying Mississippi State individually has playoff
hopes this year they probably do in house I don't look at them as that yet we're certainly going to figure out this week against Minnesota but I like if I'm Alabama I look at that's good I look at that game and I'm like I should you should be petrified right and that that should be everybody in this conference that has them on their schedule because you might be able to score 35 but MSOB might score 45 right they that quarterback man and I know just do it just do it what what else do I need to do PJ Flex said he's the best quarterback Minnesota's played in 10 years that's what PJ Flex said and look PJ Flex spent six of the last 10 years in the big 10 west you know watch an Iowa quarterbacks come to town so I'm sure this does look like a mutant to him when he watches it on tape yeah I'm sure it does look like like God's gift the football when he watches it on tape but no he's he's everything I thought he was going to be he's he's every bit of what I thought this kid was going to be I just yeah yeah how do you how do you stop that is the question
hold the ball I guess like the best defense the best defense is offense against this Mississippi state team this year perhaps I don't know I truly I knew it was good and I knew and I knew I the ball has a zip and a pop that I haven't seen in a very very long time and then of course there's a throw that went viral where he kind of steps up in the pocket and you just kind of just you know that's the noise it made in my mouth and it just goes 58 yards and it and not only goes 58 yards Brooks a lot of people can throw it that far it landed in the guys pocket if the guy had didn't have hands he would have called it because it would have landed in his pocket it was unbelievable throw I'm excited about it I'm very nervous about going to Minnesota I hate I hate you know Mississippi state schedule week two and week three both on the road one of the South Carolina who I think if you ask me that question who's a team that's kind of percolating there nobody's talking about I think South Carolina might be the team of the SEC that fucks somebody up I think the North cell is just hiding in plain sight like you guys love me last year and now I'm now here I am and you're not really talking about me and then I and then I want to say the Florida Gators they
didn't really have to show much the other day but like worst case scenario defense solid jaden ball is going to run for 150 every game and that's a winable formula to start I mean if you talk to any coach that played Florida the last three or four years yeah they would get done with the game and they'd be like I have no earth idea why they're as bad as they are it's certainly in the players I remember talking to an old miss coach last week or last year after they got done with that football game and the Ole Miss guy was like I have no idea how we won today I walked out and pregame thinking oh my god we are screwed and then the guy with the polo on over there had no idea what he was doing so boxed him for four quarters yeah and that that was the sentiment about this football team and guess what the roster's only gotten better they kept all the good ones and brought in good ones and the football coaching staff over there now is fricking elite they got a football coach now and so yeah I'm with you I think buster Faulkner is one of the best offensive coordinators that I study I mean he I put him up there with Charlie wise junior to be honest with you like
the amount of ways that he makes everything look the same while killing you in a variety of different ways create so many problems for defensive coordinators their offensive line has made some improvements but you know and the defense didn't look all that great last week but that Florida Atlantic team was a top 25 offense in the sport last year and it didn't look like they were going to slow down so I want to give them a little bit of a grace period there defensively and the fact that their defensive head coach is John Someraw and they have Brad White as the defense coordinator they're going to figure it out they're going to be all right on that side of the football but I was with you preseason I said the floor at at Florida was eight and four this year and people looked at me like I was a wacko and I'm like guys they got dudes they got absolute freak azoids I mean I don't know of anybody and Eric singletons hurt now but I don't know of anybody in the sport right now that has three wide receivers like they have when they're healthy and a running back like Jayden ball yeah I don't know of a unit like that everything else is question marks right
is the offense line going to be good enough is this five oh guys good as I think he is like though those are questions that will get answers to as the season and schedule starts to meet and up but yeah I'm with you this Florida team I got two producers that are graduates from Georgia and I told them when I got back home or when they got in here Monday I said you ought to be shaking a little bit that that game is no longer oh my god I can't wait to go beat the hell out of Florida I don't think that's what that's going to be moving forward with this with this unit down there second half of the schedule is absolutely brutal but there's the only thing stopping them from 6 and 0 is a road trip to Auburn and a home game against Ole Miss coming off the LSU game so like that it is a remarkably doable thing a couple more questions I know your time is valuable but anyway so it's Clemson dead until there's a change ahead coach I mean I thought they were dead when they went seven and six with what I think they had five players drafted in the top 90 of the NFL draft yeah yeah you're exactly right and you go seven and six yeah I mean I thought
they were dead from that standpoint now I watched them on film and and during the game on Saturday and I'm sitting there watching it from the press box and I'm like man this feels like both sides of the football are stuck in 2020 what's the goal offensively Brooks what's the goal offensive what are they trying to do Brandon they hired a guy who hadn't called places 2020 they they hired a guy and Chad Morris that wasn't even in the game of football last year yeah that's who they brought back to call place for them and it looks to me like the offense is 100% stuck in 2020 and they they don't do any of the new stuff that we do nowadays in college football no new run schemes no no pre-snap eye candy no scatter motion no no no jet sweep fly action to stretch defenses horizontally while pressing them vertically defensively the amount of tips that they had the amount of like if they if this defender has this type of I'm not trying to give everything away if this defender lines up in this type of thing they're going to run this the amount of things that LSU knew about them
that they had studied year over year that they just had not changed look to me like a football coach like we all we all make fun of dabble for not adapting the times from a roster management standpoint NIL portal all that good stuff we all make fun of them for that when I watched them I looked at I looked at a schematic approach that looked like it was antiquated that looked like it had not adapted to modern times in five years they they don't do any of the fun stuff that we do nowadays to win football games and they got their brains beat in because of it you said something interesting there you said that you don't want to give away everything so let me give you a plug right here he's given us an appetizer Brooks Austin the film guy he's given up an appetizer today but on his YouTube channel he'll give you the whole meal I was I was more talking about I don't want to give away tips that LSU had figured out about Clemson I'm open book I want you to enjoy my content but I was not gatekeeping my content right there I was protecting source information that LSU had picked up on Clemson's defense my bag. Well just take the damn compliment
Brooks just do why don't you let go ahead let me let me let me show let me get people over there do do your thing I'm great plug my show his show's great how by the way you had you had Shane Gillis on the show I haven't even had Shane Gillis yet you had to get us on the show was it was it was awesome how that come about he's a fan yeah he's friend of the show fan of the show we did a Jeremiah love CJ Carr film breakdown yeah a couple like that I think it was last year going or two years ago going into the sugar bowl and I start seeing Shane Gillis pop up in my Instagram like like buttons like he was liking videos that I was doing and the whole comment section is like Shane Gillis knows ball question mark Shane Gillis is a ball no like he starts popping up so yeah we just opened up a lot of communication Shane is a legitimate college football sicko I know and that's what you have to like to really enjoy what it is that we do you don't you can't just be like a college football shit talker that shows up on Saturdays and then shows up in Brandon Walker's
YouTube comments like that that's not what we are aiming for we're aiming for people who are like really really sick about this stuff and want to know the why about their football team and Shane is one of those people Shane Shane is a person that is very ball curious about his football teams so yeah that's why he found us to be honest with you so a couple one more question here um you know we got Texas Ohio State this weekend we got Michigan Oklahoma got Bama Kentucky we got the Sihawk we got Arizona BYU a lot of games there my eyes just go and my eyes in my heart after watch I'm falling in love with that Memphis team when they were in the stand alone a couple weeks and then falling in love with that boysy team when they went out to Eugene and weren't scared of shit on Saturday I mean they weren't scared of shit they were the Maddox Madsen has really come a long way to me and the two head of monster running back I am just over the moon about this boysy state Memphis game I think it's maybe gonna tell us there's gonna be the G6 and shout out North to go to state shout out to all the other teams what do you make of this match up and are you as excited
as I am about this one certainly I think it's too you know physical brands of football but here's what I'm more excited for you ready yeah I'm more excited for Memphis to win that game by 14 Alabama to beat Kentucky in some goofy way and then for Brandon Walker to open up his show on Saturday night saying that Charles Huff needs to be the next head coach of the Alabama Crimson Todd well that's I'm excited for okay okay well that's where you talk to yourself into a corner Brooks okay because I have to keep all avenues open all avenues are open now I think Mississippi state's gonna be really good this year when Jeff Levy wins nine games maybe opportunities come to Jeff Levy I don't know if I'm gonna need Charles Huff to be in Mississippi state next year I don't know I don't know and as we sit here right now I got I'm just guessing I'm guessing tala has the in Charles Huff have at least looked at each other across the bar and not each other like Charles Huff is at least lifted his drinks said you need one and tala has he's like maybe so so there's there's there's a lot
going on there but I you just got to know it's early I got to keep all options open all options on the table uh Jeff Levy's gonna win nine we're gonna give him an extension he's gonna win the national championship next year but if he were to move on anyway that that's being said I do love Huff I do love how tough they play I love the MJ play and it's not just because I have a cousin that is on the offense flag so um anyway Brooks anything else you want to add to my audience uh to uh to make him your audience or anything else you want to add to to shit talk me whatever you want to add go ahead yeah your audience seems to love when you get awfully perturbed uh hot take easier to make a college football playoff at Memphis than it is at Mississippi state no I don't think that's a hot take it all um listen we live in a very Mississippi state lives in a very expensive neighborhood with a lot of very nice houses and you look you start getting competitive with the neighbors you got Alabama over here you got LSU down there you got Texas A&M and tech like it's tough it's it's tough but you know what star was a mission right there with Ole Miss by the way they're done buddy they're done I don't care what you say either they're they're done that defense they got a defensive minded
head coach and can't defend me Lane's gonna take their soul in a couple of weeks so I'm not worried about that that I lived through the Lane Kiffin era I made it I'm safely assured and I'm not even looking back at the boat I'm not even worried about it sometimes I sometimes I turn to look at the boat because I still got turned to that chamois and my god he's an amazing football player that being said you want to say anything about chamois on the way out because if I'm going through the most impressive players of week one Malachite Tony is certainly one of them Camario is definitely one of you know Jeremiah Smith did his thing but turn to that chamois she got to just be over the moon about what he did yes stumbled out of the blocks a little bit uh didn't look all that great for about a quarter and a half and then it's just like oh I remember how to do this I know I know what we got going on here um I said going into the year I thought that Trinidad Chamois Qon Lacey and Dusk Alexander were good enough for eight wins this season by themselves because of how individually excellent those three players were they're gonna have that football game was an exact example of that type of analysis those guys are great yeah they're fantastic but again they're
gonna have to be because that defense has not taken a single step forward and didn't I didn't appear to know how to play the game of football in the second half but that's game one maybe it changes all right Brooks Austin the film guy on YouTube check him out uh he's he's the man and he's said he will do this is often as I would like to do it and uh I like ball knows so that's Brooks Austin that's the film
