A floor collapse during a wedding at a venue in Tamworth, New Hampshire, sending dozens of guests tumbling into the basement. The incident happened at the preserve at Chokarua, shortly after 4.30pm on Saturday, with 144 people inside the sap house. Building at the time, first responders from Tamworth Fire and Rescue rushed to the scene after calls reported more than 100 people on the floor, when he gave way. Guests and venue staff had already jumped into action, providing first aid and using ladders to rescue those, trapped under beams and farm equipment. Nearly 70 people fell through a large 6 meter by 6 meter hole, but quick thinking by everyone on site likely saved lives. Officials praised the immediate response from wedding guests and staff for getting people out of danger fast. Six adults were rushed to nearby hospitals with serious injuries, while dozens more received treatment right there at the scene. By 10pm that evening, only two people remained hospitalized. Officers now believe the building was overcapacity before the collapse, and they're digging
into fire and building codes to figure out what went wrong. It's a close call that could have been much worse. That's the story for today. Toronto News Today, Driven by AI, I'm Corey with The Story.
