Some of the key moments will involve people who get podium time. Ken Paxton will be welcomed as a, oh, say conquering hero, really conquered in the primaries and hoping to have another conquering of James Tallerico on November 3rd Ted Cruz will get some podium time Brandon Gill will get some podium time. So some people it's funny. It's here, right? And so a lot of people have everybody getting real personality about the speaker's list. You know, how about a rising star like Beth Van Dyne? Of course, that would make sense. How about any one of a number of other worthy folks and you know, because it's like they're from here. The bottom line on this is that it's two full nights, but we only got so much time.

3:18And the point of this, and this is from Trump's own, you know, mouth and brain, is every single thing that we do has got to be designed to bring about victory in November, messaging for people who need to be familiarized with our with with with our pitch candidates in some of the relatively few actual 50 50 type races. Uh, if I'm trying to remember, is anybody done anything like this? Is this trade? Do you ever remember a political ad

5:25featuring not in ads funny? I'll tell you who my mind goes back to on this and I can't believe I'm mentioning this guy's name who's been dead to me for a long time. Dave Fielin, former speaker and whipping boy of conservatives in Texas for years, uh, he had an idea that and I would do what happened in his bill? I don't think it went well, barely didn't go far enough that if there are AI creations or recreations, even he was just talking about still photographs. It was a depiction of him hugging Nancy Pelosi, which which never actually happened. And so his point was you shouldn't be able to have a depiction in an ad that features something that did not actually occur like a fake photograph. And when this first came up, I thought, okay, I guess we can try to cobble that together. I guess so. I'm, I imagine if somebody did, if I'm running for something and somebody

6:26did it to me, I wouldn't be thrilled. But then by the same token, I also say we're all grown-ups and maybe just a disclaimer works. And well, I don't know here comes the real test on this because this ain't no still photograph. This is video moving images and what is depicted is James Talleriko saying some things directly to the camera that are distillations of things he has actually said, but they're put in his mouth in a different way. And it goes like this. In the beginning, God was non-binary and he wasn't a Christian. And God said, let there be six genders and there were. Then God so loved the world that he gave us his only son, who is a radical feminist and never asked people to worship him. Look, I always think of myself as a Christian who hates Christianity. James Talleriko, wrong for Texas. America is not a Christian nation. And wrong

7:29for America too. I'm Ken Paxson and I approve this message. And ladies and gentlemen, the rodeo is on. Now, Spencer Pratt did some creative AI ads in his campaign for Mayor of Los Angeles, but I think everybody knew they were parody. There was somebody took me back decades. You remember the one of Paul Ryan, you know, tossing a woman in a wheelchair off a cliff? But nobody thought that was actually real. Will people see this here? This and you got to see it just if you know, it's on my Twitter feed all over the place or just Ken Paxson AI campaign ad and bloop, believe me, you'll find it in a millisecond. As you look at that and you think, God, that's genius, which it is. And yet, and yet, and yet, can we do this? Is this right? So some of you have

8:31weighed in. Here we go. That would have been a good ad for Ken Paxson not to actually approve one of the other associated political groups could have done it, no matter who produced it. I don't like the ad. I much prefer a montage of Tallerico actually saying those things. Lord knows there are plenty of clips out there. And there are. And by the way, the words put in Tallerico's mouth are things he has actually said. He's not misquoted anywhere, but having him directly looking at the kids and look, I think of myself as a Christian who hates Christianity. There is some creative license taken there. Who here's another one. I don't like an AI created ad when you can actually put footage of the real Tallerico saying the same thing. And then somebody else said, got a couple of questions. Could somebody sue for this? And what about the somebody with for misuse of the

9:32audio? I said, listen, that's not real audio. That is not Tallerico's voice. It's not his face. Every single bit of the moving, speaking, talking, the person you see and the voice you hear are 100% AI concoctions. Therein lies its brilliance. Therein lies its danger. So I think somebody came up with a stinging example of what I'm talking about. How do we like a little AI Angela Paxton addressing the camera and saying a few choice things that maybe she said, well, we're going to be okay with that? Exactly. So, so what kind of regulation do we need on this? Do we need to be big boys and girls and say, this is the world we live in? Does there need to be a disclaimer in there somewhere? This message created with artificial intelligence. Maybe, but does it have the power to mislead the power to

10:35and by and by mislead, I don't mean, you know, putting words in somebody's mouth. It's, I mean, if there's if somebody is misquoted, you bet it's instantly actionable. You can probably get a cease and desist. You can get some form of temporary restraining order. But if somebody just don't like it, if those were your words, hey, man, they were your words. Yeah, but I never sat there, you know, holding a Bible that said the King James, Talleriko Bible, coloring in it like I'm 12. You know, those are again, what we call creative license. And those are inventions. Those are AI depictions. So your thoughts is this, is this a world we want to occupy? Do we need to bring this to a screeching halt? Do we love it? 11:35Bocile outside the AAC in the pre-don darkness. See it behind me. The barriers are up. The streets are closed. And as the morning continues, you start to see more and more local, state, and federal law enforcement as they expect thousands of people to come here to the AAC for this first ever Republican midterm convention. So the whole goal here is to boost up energy ahead of the election. So President Donald Trump is expected to speak tonight and tomorrow night along with the Vice President. And Texas Governor Greg Abbott will also take the stage along with many other leaders to talk to supporters. So Texas, there's a huge, huge focus here because of so many competitive statewide races, specifically the 1% at between Attorney General Ken Paxton and State Representative James Toleriko. Now behind the scenes, planning has been going on for nearly a year. We spoke with Ray Rochburn. He's the convention coach here. And he talked to us on Loanstar politics about why the President and his party chose Dallas for this historic event. Interesting question because it's not exactly a red county. We do a technical. We have a recent convert Republican mayor,

12:38and Eric Johnson, thank you very much. But Trump ain't going to win this county. Paxton ain't going to win Dallas County. But so why here? Really a promotion of one thing is Dallas. And we want to promote Dallas and in Texas and what a great place this is. But from the people traveling here for it, it's really we've got about 35 contested congressional races around the country. And of course the big Senate race. Because here is the thing, the short answer of quick. Name me a big city we can hold it in that Republicans do have confidence in winning. How about Fort Worth? How about Fort Worth? You know, the last Senate race we had, Colin Allred, slightly out distance to Ted Cruz by like a sliver of a percentage point. Terrant counties, Terrant counties, purple kids, it ain't your dads for it worth. Nope, nope, nope. Now it's the least liberal big city that Texas has. Maybe the

13:42least liberal big city America has. Sandy, I know. We'll talk about that. But if you're going to have it in a big city, probably going to be in the blue county. And they are expecting more than 20,000 people to come to the AAC for this first ever Republican midterm convention. Now for folks who work, live and visit the Victory Park area, they can expect major delays for the next several days. The streets have been closed since Monday. They're expected to reopen by Friday. But a lot of folks are having to take shuttles in and out, especially like for example, the W Hotel. They told us that's how visitors are coming in. And then people who are attending the AAC, they actually have to park in Grand Prairie at the Lonesard Park there and take a 16 mile ride over here to. Yeah, how's that going to go? Everybody going to be thrilled by that. And I don't think they're going to let me tell you one thing. Talk about the literal captive audience. What's not like anybody's going to want to bug out at seven. I mean, especially with you know, Trump and or Vance coming. I mean, Vance definitely tonight. Trump could pop out at

14:43almost any time. His keynote is tomorrow night. So, yeah, you're going to be there for the duration. Get to the AAC. So if you don't have to be in the area today, the suggestion is to avoid it since there are a lot of logistics when it comes to safety. Now coming up in our next 30 minutes, we're going to talk about the counter protests that are expected to take place today. Organizers told us that they spoke with local law enforcement to have a specific area for them to express their force amendment rights. We'll have that. Which by the way, it's what America is about. I've heard precious little. I mean, there's no, you know, no Kings doorkery surrounding this. There's there's been no, you know, astroturf fake grassroots online campaign about this. I don't know, are we being lulled into it? And I think also it's because they think they're not going to be allowed to sit there and act like Jack wagons right outside the doors where people are coming out. The event was the president's idea to replicate the fanfare, typically seen every four years during the convention. With midterm elections historically tough for the party in power, the president has been pushing for turnout, telling supporters to pretend he's on the ballot. Some Republican lawmakers are looking to showcase their wins, whereas others are choosing to skip the event. We've accomplished monument. That's why I'm going to have to be campaigning. No one votes for me in Washington or in Dallas. The convention comes as the trade war escalates between the United States and Canada with President Trump threatening to outwit ban Canadian imports, including motorcycles, dairy and alcohol products later this month. And exactly how many motorcycles and bottles of booze do we actually get from Canada? And the way you know that is if they wanted to make fun of it, if they wanted to mock it, if they wanted to minimize it, they would have the opening of Morning Joe today on MS now would have been, look at those silly Republicans knowing full well that ruin awaits them in 50 some days for the midterms on November 3rd. Here comes their their their pathetic attempt to shovel sand against the tide and and try to glean some small glimmer of hope. It would have been phraseology like that, just the kind of mocking condescending, derisive stuff that you would expect, right? Because you know that's how they view the event. So why didn't they do that? Why did it start out with Joe and

21:03Mika and their 12 assembled guests on their little video boxes talking about yesterday's US open action? It's because they clearly made the decision not to pay attention to it. Why would they do that? Because they what what would happen if they paid attention to it? What would happen if they mocked it, derided it, made fun of it, lampooned it? You might watch it. Their viewers, even if it's in a satirical bent, even if it's an ironic way, they don't want to drive viewership to it. Now I'm not going to be stupid here and say that that must mean they fear it. They they were up all night trembling with concern that this is going to be such a grand slam on both nights that all of a sudden it's going to be a red wave on November 3rd. Let's not go nuts. However, I smell envy. Rod to me at a grade point. We have we have I need to take a picture of the credentials

22:08and put them on Twitter. I'll do it. I'll do it like next break. The credentials that'll be hanging off all our necks are like a massive Trump placard. And can you see one of those hanging off a Chris Cuomo or hang it off Anderson Cooper. I have no idea who the which media jackals will be forced to cover this thing. But if you're if you've got a credential hanging around your neck and it's funny because if you're usually at the Democrat convention or the Republican convention, they can it's there's an elephant. There's a donkey. There's some American flags. There's stuff like that. I don't think there's ever been a Republican Democrat convention that a big headshot of the nominee. You know, it didn't walk into the 2008 even the 2008 Democrat convention in Denver. Wasn't a big old picture of Obama. Boy, if only he'd thought about that. But it's it is it is very it's very Trump centric. Do you think it's because the party is very Trump centric.

23:12And I think that the media culture and the Democrat culture, they take a look at this thing we're going to do for the next couple of days and they're saying, huh. Uh oh, because they also know that the the Trump appeal remains strong as a motivating force. And they also know that we're going to put a bunch of people on that stage tonight and tomorrow night that are that are not existing conservative rock stars. Plenty will be but they're also going to be some what the program calls everyday Americans who have been helped by Trump policies. People will say, you know what? The immigration policies have helped me. The tax policies have helped me. The things that this White House has done for this country have helped me personally in my life

24:12because it's that kind of appeal that creates precisely what the desired effect of this midterm convention is to create Republican voters or welcome them back into the fold if they've grown disperited. Last night, Channel 11 Doug Dunbar doing the anchoring. It is a go time now for the big two day event. The RNC says that they're expecting some 20,000 people to attend the event. And if that happens to include you, if you plan on going in or around Victory Park, just know this securities tight. And there are three checkpoints right now on the north, the south and the east sides of the double AC. Anybody driving or even walking through the area, you will have to show an ID or some kind of documentation explaining why you are there. And the city of Dallas, just so you know, says providing public safety is going to cost more than two million bucks. City leaders do not want taxpayers to pay that money. 25:14Post Committee about how they plan to make that happen. Well, there are a lot of grants and things out there from all the different departments. We feel very confident that whole things are going to be filled up. Real quick, what's all the whining about the cost of this thing? How many thousands of people are coming? They're going to eat, they're going to stay in hotels. There will be a net economic benefit to this. It would be the same if it were a big Democrat gathering too. Yet I had somehow sensed that if there were a big Democrat gathering, we would not have all this hand-ranging and teeth-nashing about the cost. Somehow, I think that's unique to a gathering of conservatives. Another real quick thing, anytime you hear, hey, there's some grant that'll take care of this. There's some sort of, you know, federal seed money, some grant, what do you think those grants are? What do you think that comes from? The sky? That's called taxpayers in Indiana paying the freight for this thing. Just as taxpayers in Texas or anytime you're, even for good things, a law enforcement grant, an education grant, a federal program, a federal program to do this

26:21wonderful thing or that wonderful thing. Well, isn't that wonderful? No, it's not. This is how we got this massive hydra, this beast that is federal spending. It's because everybody in Congress, House and Senate realized that if they go to Washington and can bring home the bacon, which means making people in the 49 other states pay for stuff in their state that they get reelected. Because they say, look, what I did. Look at this bridge, look at this program, look at this road. When in actuality, here's the truth. No politician wants to say nobody in any other state should have a dime a taxpayer money going any federal program in Texas. I mean, something that's not the federal government's business. By the way, most things are not the federal government's business. If we in Texas can handle our own, you know, roads, our own senior citizen centers, our own law enforcement grants and programs, we would have so much money we wouldn't know what to do with it.

27:25And did it with all 49 other states. So just by entire life, I've just blanched this notion of, wow, there's a federal grant that'll handle that as if that's invisible money that appears from space. What we're not concerned about that is that any chance that the committee pays for that or how does that work? Why do we take care of it? Okay. At the nearby Anatole Hotel, shuttles are already in place ready to transport delegates there, political operatives and guests who are arriving from around the country. We did speak with a conservative advocate from Chicago about a possible strategy for the Republicans for the midterms. And we're looking to build on what we did last time. This is Dr. Jimmie Lee Tillman with a want wow love the name of this group. He's the president of the Martin Luther King Republicans of Chicago. All right. And reach out to the black male. And we reach out for the black female this time. The mothers, the single mothers, the working women.

28:25Those people, we're trying to show them that the new American agenda has a great plan for the single mama and the working mother and the moms who just want to be a mom. As far as the scheduling, we do know President Trump is going to be giving the keynote address and that is going to happen tomorrow night. Vice President JD Vance will be doing the same on Thursday. Other speakers do include some names and faces you may know. Senate candidate Ken Paxton, Governor Greg Abbott, of course, Senator Ted Cruz will be there. Also Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson will be addressing the crowd. On the Democrat side of things, Texas Democrats do plan to deliver twice daily press conferences all to counter the Republicans message. Party also says it will be holding a protest at Dallas City Hall. That's scheduled for Thursday. At Dallas City Hall. Okay. Have fun. And Democratic candidate for Senate, James Talleriko is planning a grocery drive tomorrow. That's going to be at the Frederick Douglass Human Services and Justice Center. 30:31somebody tees up one of those and and and mobilizes it against a candidate, we like several vivid examples have been made to me and they're and they're very good. We got to figure this out. We have got to figure this out. All right, here's an ad that's not AI. It is it is from an outfit called evangelicals for a better future. Uh-huh. What what what I'm goodness me. I'm an evangelical. I want a better future. Maybe this is right in my right in my wheelhouse. Let's take a listen, shall we? Evangelicals for a better future. What makes a Texan is not in the boots or in the truck. It's deep in the heart. We're this big nation. All these different people, all these different posters. We are strivers and builders and dreamers.

31:31Well, the first thing that occurs to me in this ad from evangelicals for a better future is I think this is actual James Talleriko. That's that's actual him in the in the audio. Now it's just his voice over top of all kinds of visual images. All of them actually real visual images as well. All right, evangelicals for a better future. With an ad featuring woke opi, where are we headed here? Then extremism. We're bigger than extremism. Is six genders extremism? Is God is non-binary extremism? Is is is softening our borders and being anti-oil extremism?

32:37Oh, sorry. Partisanship. Really, really, really, really. Oh, oh. Everybody's partisan. Every, everybody running for everything is partisan. So just stop that now. The bigger, the bigger up to Texas is bigger than all of those things because it's not just a state. It's a state of mind. Evangelicals for a better future with a Talleriko ad. Now the first amendment gives them the right to put that ad out. Also gives them a right, I suppose, to call themselves whatever they wish. You know, they could call themselves Martians for a better future if they wanted to. And that's about how close to evangelicals they are as well.
