So guys, welcome to another edition of The We Do This 2 Outdoors podcast, I'm your host Courtney Williamson, I've got a super special guest on the day, met him at the NWTF at the retail booth, he's the awesome guy, he's real big and the outdoors, seems like he's, you know, he's got a passion for the outdoors, it's like me, and it's awesome to run into, you know, fellow hunters, you know, fellow outdoors, one of the share of the same passion as me. He's a Tennessee boy, Mr. Dawton Conflict, how are you doing brother? Man, I'm doing great, thanks for having me on here Courtney. Yes sir, brother, like I said, we've met at the NWTF man, and I don't know if you felt

3:07the chemistry man, but I felt like, you know, we've long lost brothers down the line, you know, we've got the bears, and yeah, no, I mean, you know, I feel the same way we hit it right off, you know, before the show, and I mean, just started talking, and I had seen a lot of your stuff, you know, that you have out on social media platforms and really digging, and it was actually looking forward to meeting you there on Friday. Awesome man, that was, I like to hear that, man, you know, it was, it was waiting for me because, you know, that was the first time that I'd ever worked for, you know, a company together, you know, the first time I ever went to the NWTF was probably like 2014, 2015, somewhere in there, and I've been there ever since, and, you know, it was a dream of mine when I walked in that place, like one day I'm going to be either here working for myself or representing

4:08the company, and I said, if I ever get that chance, I'm going to do the best that I can for whoever I was there for, you know, and luckily, Retail gave me that opportunity, you know, met a bunch of great people there, got to talk about the shotguns, you know, stuff like that, the new stuff coming out, the rifles, you know, pistols and everything, so it was cool, man, so I really appreciate that. Yeah, you know, it's, I worked the Ducks Expo in Memphis for Retail, but, and then got, got to be able to work in WTF for Retail through Hunter Flanders and whatnot, and I really love talking to the other ambassadors through Retail and, and whatnot, and really talking to the people about the great products that we have out and outcoming, you know, coming down the pipeline and whatnot, you, you know, you stand for it and believe in it and really

5:13want to promote it. For sure, man. And Retail, man, I tell people all the time, you know, Retail was one of those brands that I was actually using before, you know, anything ever happened between them. Yeah. I was using it, you know, three to four years prior to that, and the only reason I was using it because the first dude's hunt that I ever went on, everybody's gun was jamming. Yeah. Exactly. You know, and it's just like, what is going on? And then the next hunt I went on, when I had a retail in my hand, everybody's gun was jamming except mine. Yeah. Yeah. You know, I was like, okay, I'm a believer now, you know, and, you know, those shells, you know, anything you throw on that thing, dirt, mud, rocks, whatever it is, it's coming out the barrel. Yeah. So. Yeah. So I actually started shooting Retail around 2018, 2019.

6:16You know, they had been over in Turkey for a while and then got introduced to the states here in 2016. And a buddy of mine, Jordan Birch, he's a good dog trainer down in Dyer's Bird area down there in West Tennessee. He was like, man, you got to try to retake. And so I went out on a limb, bought one. And just like you said, you know, a lot of people tell you to break in a new shotgun with heavy loads. And like every, every new shotgun that I got from retail, like, you know, we're shooting doves, pigeons, you know, really light loads. And, I mean, it's just cycling, no jam and no clicking. You know, they, they, they really have a great product in this industry. Absolutely. Yeah, they do, man. And I've taken my, you know, some pretty screenerless waters and stuff like that.

7:20And I dropped it in the water before last year's, I've had, especially my muscle arm. It's been through hell. Yeah. I mean, it's been through some stuff, man, I can tell you, you know, it's tripping through. Like, it was hard for me to put that gun up this year to try the Azar because I was so used to it. Yeah. I got the laser on my hand. I was like, oh boy. It's not. No, it was. So the, so the first time I actually got to handle and mess with the ace or the Azar, was it duck sexpo in Memphis this past summer. And I was like, man, this is a game changer. You know, the, the one complying about the, lots of more was that you couldn't put an extended tube on it. Right. And when they told us, you know, that they were good now, and then I seen it first hand. I was like, oh, yeah.

8:21Yeah. This is, this is game changing. Yeah. For sure. Yeah. They have came out, like I tell all my buddies and all my friends, they ride me, you know, they're not just a shotgun, talking to any more. No. You know, they're RxP 22, fantastic piece. I've got one, actually, I've got two coming up, and then I've got the RxP 22, 1522, which is like the Smith and Wesson 1522, you know, to be comparable. Your planker from, you know, all you AR guys have to, they don't want to spend a lot of money on your 223s, man, you know, that's, that's, that's it. And then they've got, you know, they're seeing, which comes in Walmart or Black or whatever color you want. If the, it's kind of your sport or RxP, you know, it comes to 22 also, and then there's some more coming down the line.

9:22I don't want to talk about it. I don't know if we can talk about it. Yeah. Yeah. I don't, I don't know. But I am excited. I will say that. Yeah. I'm super excited for what was coming down the line. So we, we got, we got a little bit of intel there at NWTF and I was like, man, I am stoked. Yeah. Let's go. Yeah. I was like, I'm pumped about that. But yeah, for, for you guys out there that are, you know, wondering about retails and what we're talking about, a retail USA, you know, show you everything that we got, you know, there and, you know, find your local dealer, go hammer on and purchase one. Yeah. I promise you you will not be, you can't go wrong. I'm just telling you that, yeah, I'd say, I'd say the, the satisfaction guarantee is right at 100%. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. For sure, man. But, I mean, I'm going to, I'm going to take you back to the very beginning, man. So how, how old are you?

10:23I am 33 years old, 33, okay. So I'm going to take you back to the beginning and basically how, how you got introduced to the outdoors, who got you introduced to the outdoors, well, you're a late mother or was this something you started early? Um, so I really got started early. Um, I've got to thank my dad. He was always a big time fisherman, um, as I was growing up and we would fish all the time. Um, and then somewhere around, uh, seven or eight years old, um, me and my granddaddy started a tradition of, uh, squirrel hunting on Thanksgiving day, um, and then we would go, uh, deer hunting there at his farm, um, you know, around Christmas day and whatnot. Um, and then I really got started, uh, duck hunting when I was, um, 15 or 16, a guy, um,

11:24it was my mother's, uh, old boss. It was her son. He was a little bit older than I was, but, uh, he invited me to go, uh, duck hunting one day with him and his buddies and, and man, I fell in love with it. Um, you know, watching, watching him ducks come through the trees and, and shake all the limbs and whatnot and, and then I just, I just kind of, uh, done my own thing, uh, really cut my teeth on, uh, farm pond goose hunting around here, you know, Canada geese. And what you would get a few, you know, straggling ducks and, um, and then I was like, man, this is, you know, this is what I want to do. And then got, got a few invites out to Arkansas with some, uh, friends of mine and, and just, and just fell in love with it. Um, you know, it's, but it, it all started at an early age. You know, squirrel hunting sitting there at a old, uh, single shot 20 gauge, um, and

12:26it's still, in matter of fact, still have that gun, um, and I'm all passing down to my two sons, um, whatnot, but, but yeah, it was, it was early age, especially, uh, bass fishing and whatnot. And then, you know, small game hunting. Yeah, it's a, yeah. Yeah, man, you have a similar story, you know, my dad got me into it and he was, uh, he grew up a little, uh, a small town in Tennessee called Songerville, right? Us out of Memphis. Yeah. Bad county, um, and he, he grew up, we're out of hunting, small game hunting, squirrels, and stuff like that. Um, then he, he met my mom and moved to Kentucky, but he never knew anything about deer hunting and nothing like that because I went out deer turkey on his land. And he said back then, yeah, so that's what he grew up around. That's, you know, when he came to Kentucky and, you know, I was born, old enough to walk behind and we were just listening to him and the dogs, you know, just watching him,

13:28how he moved into woods, um, the woodsmen. I mean, he was a great woodsman. Like, yeah, it's crazy, um, just watching him walk away and he was a huge fisherman as well. He, he loves cat fishing, you know, um, so I got that love from him as well. Yeah, I just, I haven't been fishing since he passed and 14 really. I'll take him my son a few times, but it just, it doesn't feel the same without him, you know, we'll have him out here, you know, but we definitely have a, you know, very similar story, man, for sure. You know, yeah, and, and they got that is gotten to the age now where it's, it's just a whole lot for him to, you know, it's a whole lot of, uh, strength and effort for him to get out there and go fishing, whatnot and, um, but yeah, I, I have a lot of fond memories of, of man, him fishing. Yeah, for sure, man. Yeah, I've got a lot of fond memories of my dad and he is one of the guys like,

14:32he'd wake up early, I'm talking early in the morning, you know, an indirect call for you, nothing like that. And he'd get his little tea or whatever he's drinking, and he'd read his paper, and he'd wake, wait a few hours, you know, to wake me up. Yeah, he called me junior, you know, I'm not a junior, but he's junior, you go to Lee's bar, got a roll over and see what time to that. I said, that is 430. Got to hit him really, boy, you know, like hearing that. Well, I'm sorry. Oh, yeah, you got to get to, you got to get to it morning by. And I was like, oh, my, I ain't going out real low. We're going back to sleep for a second, then you're like five minutes later. I'm like, hello, no, let me, let me get on up. So once I get up, get going, you know, good, you know, we're getting that old 86, four or 86 Chevy, here he is here, a C10, you know, and I call it an old Raymond, because that's the guy he got it from. We got around the corner, his name was Raymond. Yeah, I call him old Raymond.

15:32And that thing was a rust bucket, but that thing looked real like, yeah. And we'd get him that thing and stop at the gas station. If you need to grab a few snacks and off, you know, to the river or the lake, we went, man, we'd be there all day long. Yeah, I mean, similar thing, my dad would always say, you know, we got to get that morning by and I'm aware out there, you know, right at son up, we'd, we'd stop by the gas station before and he'd, he'd always say, better gave me a pack of Eater snacks, like peanut butter crackers and stuff. And I still, I still now hear Eater snacks. Yeah, for sure. Yeah, man, well, it was a little different, you know, as I got a little older, because, you know, I started going hunting by myself and fishing by myself. You know, fishing was fine, you know, because I had a lot of farm ponds around me. I could just ride on bike too, ride the four-wheelers too. But when I started deer hunting for myself, man, it was a lot of, I was used to my

16:40little single shot for 10 years. Every time we go out, I get something, you know, so I come back. I'd have something to clean, you know, but when I started deer hunting, man, I'm like, how, like, how do these, how are these people killing these deer? Like, because I was like, I ain't seeing nothing. Yeah. Well, when I do see some, it's, you know, a hundred-year-old up there and I just, I had just started shooting the bow. So I didn't feel comfortable shooting anything past 30 yards. And I'm like, how in the world, you know, those back then, you know, everything was like on a DVD, you know, where you had to put a DVD in and watch like, why they had all these people? And I'm just like, how in the world, you know, and it was got to the point, man. I was like, I just had to go find somebody that was in my town to show me like, what am I doing now? And finally, you know, my setup was all wrong. The wind was blowing the wrong direction.

17:42You're going to call them down here. You're since born straight towards it. No wonder you ain't seeing nothing. Yeah. You know, once I figured out all that, man, I remember that first though came out about 30 yards and I popped her and she ran about 40, maybe had fell over and I was just like, oh my God, I did it, you know, now let's, let's get the buck and the buck didn't happen to you. The buck happened probably three years later. You know, it was just trial and error. And I think that's the thing that gets, you know, some hunters when they first start, you know, they get frustrated and they, and they, and they quit because they see TV in the videos, but you seem so there after 10 minutes, but they know telling how long they had been out there just to make that little 10 second clip that you see. Oh, yeah. You know, you just, I remember watching, you know, like Bill Dance and and stuff like that. And I'm like, man, he's catching them every cast, you know, just, just pigs. And I'm like, and then I, you know, I got older and I was like, well, they

18:46ain't no telling how many times he went fishing in the same shirt just to, you know, or private pond, you know, they stopped really good and you. So in your eyes, man, like, what was the moment for you when you were out in the fishing or hunting that you said to yourself, this is me. Like, this is what I'm going to do. This is my passion. I don't want to do nothing else, but hunt or finish. Um, I would have to say my moment would have been that morning that that, that my buddy, Steven McKinsey took me duck hunting at a public walk in area. And, um, and, you know, just watching in ducks work, watching them, um, you know, blow the calls and then, um, it was like a week later, we got into a

19:49Canada goose loaf and, and man, it was like, I was like, man, this is me just seeing them, you know, lock up, put out the landing gear and like everything unfold. And then, you know, chaos happens and you're like, man, you know, we called them me and our decoy set up was right. You know, everything was right. We put in all the work and, you know, it happened. I'm like, man, this is, this is, this is what I'm going to live for right here. You know, that's, that's awesome way that you had that moment. That's, that's sweet. So I don't know, um, they've never heard my, my story about my first duck hunt. No, that's it. Oh, man. So, so my buddy Lance, shout out to the Lance Gord, man. I love him with that. So he's from, uh, Graves County, Kentucky, which is a little town called Mayfield.

20:49It's right on and this, like really close to Mississippi. And it's close to a, uh, a county called Ballard County, which everybody talking knows Ballard County. And even if you're not from Kentucky, you know, as I say, it's more people know about Ballard, uh, Ballard County than just Ballard County, Kentucky. Yeah. Yeah. So, uh, my mother was like, man, you know, you, you know, I never say else. Like you need to go on the duck hunt. I said, man, I ain't trying to go duck hunt man. Like, I just don't sound fun to me. Well, he invites me with him and his cousin McKenzie McKenzie is a water foul machine. That's all I can say. Like he, no, he's, he's been hot in that land since he was 12 years old. He's got a super nice bowl of Excel. Soft zen was a mud buddy and a dog of decoys at the wazoo. Like, he's got a dog. So he told me what to bring. He said, according to get you some whiteers, it should, you know, have a decent

21:51shotgun and bring you some gloves and some sunglasses. That's like, okay, cool. So I remember, I remember I got these wakers from, but all I know is they were uninsulated and I was freezing them down. So we, we mean up at this church or whatever. And then we go to bowler and if you've been the battle of Cal, everybody knows that you got to go to the check station or whatever and get all and all this stuff. So we get on the daily, doing that on the daily, on the daily, yes. So we get drunk and totally the spot we get. It's like one of the best spots on ballot or on boat, right, we're at a boat right this time. Right. So we get the truck, everything and we're back, back down the boat ramp. We get out of here's a guard corner. This is where you put on your waders. I was like, cool. Well, my dove self steps out of my, I have these pants on and I have these kind

22:52of high boots, these lacrosse boots. So I step out lacrosse boots and I step on the ground with both my feet, soaking wet outside my socks were wet. I've got on Nike socks. I don't have like marino wool or alpaca, you know, never stop now. This right now, black Nike socks, they're soaking wet. So I put my feet, you know, in the waders, pull my waders up. I don't have enough clothes on and I'm like, I'll be okay. I've, you know, got through cold before. So they back the boat in, I get in the boat and he looks at me. McKenzie, he's the captain of the boat. He's a Courtney. We're going to hit some stops, but we won't flip a prize. And it's all I'm seeing in front of me is darkness and a little bit of like these psyched trees is coming up out of the water and there's like this little thing. And I'm like, we're going through that. He's like, yeah. All right. So I sit in the middle of the boat with my GoPro like this.

23:57I'm scared to death. My eyes as big as a softball. My buddy, Lance is just dying laughing this whole time. So he's weren't going to go all these psyched trees and swamps. We're hitting buffs. I'm, you know, jumping up and down like this with my GoPro. And I'm just sitting there talking to Jesus the whole time. Like, I'm going to die. Lord, if you make me, if you let me get through this, let me get to where we're going. So I can get out of this boat and, you know, kind of calm my calm my body there. So he's like, okay, there's the whole we're going to set up on this side here. And I was like, okay, cool. And I'm like, where are we going to sit? He's like, we're not sitting. I was like, what do you mean? When I sit, he's like, we're going to stand by these trees. That's why I told you to wear waders. All I can think about is 18 degrees. That's probably more probably the windshield. All I can think about was gators and cotton valves.

24:58That's the only thing that will get them all back. And I'm just sitting there looking to Lance. Lance's exact words was, welcome to crazy white boy shit. Well, if we get on the boat, he's setting out the decals and he's got the boat light on and stuff like that. So I'm okay. I'm good because I'm watching the boat like, so I'm leading up against history, trying to take the deep rest, how myself and hell. Well, he got all the decals out and those likes went off. That's when I started freaking out. Cause I couldn't see nothing or no, I could hear them talking, but I couldn't see anything and everything, every little move I made in the March and in the September, I'm thinking, it's a gator that I'm stepping on. So I'm like doing this and freaking it out. So I'm like, oh, yeah, Lord, please let me get through this. So daylight filing breaks. My buddy's like, okay, we can shoot at this time. And I kind of look up and I just see ducks just flying back and forth.

26:03Well, what I thought was ducks. I said, are those ducks? He's like, yeah, see, they just flying back and forth, you know, through September. And I'm like, this is cool. And so, so the light starts to break through you and more and I start seeing a little better. So I turned the GoPro on and I'm saying a little speech or whatever. Then all of a sudden, like seven of them start coming towards our decals. And I'm like, okay, show time. So I'm like, when do I shoot? So I'm like, uh, so I'm just waiting on somebody to say shoot. So I hear McKenzie at the end say shoot, so we shoot think we need to get like five of the seven or whatever. And he's like high five in me and I'm, and I'm high five. And like I got my dead in this and while I'm trying to hook the tree because I don't want to fall in this water. Like this. And I was like, okay, I'm cool now. So that's it. Nothing of water. Family, boom, boom, what I'm like, dude.

27:05So we didn't live it out the day, but we, I think we killed about eight or nine. And, uh, we get back to the thing and I'm absolutely froze at this time. And, uh, you know, and I can't swim and water's up to my waist. You know, I'm just like, oh, man. But once them ducks started coming in, man, it was, we had the time in our lives. And I was hooked at that moment. So, you know, you know, you know, you've got to be a tree hugger and a conservationist all at the same time for sure, man, whether you know, you're standing there or you're holding on for their life, try not to fall or what not. Yeah, man. So, so this will be, let's see, this will be my third. No, this will be my fourth year. Um, in the woods, you know, hot and water, we're actually going to start in January of 27th.

28:07Um, I'm bushing my blood and I think we're, I think we're still going. Um, yeah. So we're going down there, me, uh, some buddies I met Mississippi, the my boy, Trey, the moccasian candy. Uh, hopefully everything goes, goes good that. Uh, so it's first time I've ever been out of the state to, to hunt duck. So are y'all going on a private deal or a guided dealer? Uh, it's, uh, it's a DIY type thing, but, um, this, it includes the lodging. Um, so we don't have to try to find places to go, but my buddy, um, AD, he's in Mississippi, uh, shout out to AD. I know you listen to his podcast religiously. He's the guy that kind of, he's the older gentleman of the group, the OG of the group. So he's been down to this place before and he said it's, it's a ball. So he pretty much knows all the hot spots. They're ready to go and, you know, it's going to be cool because like, Trey, my buddy, um,

29:10he's got a podcast called the dreaded archer. You got to check him out too. He's never been duck hunting before. And then, uh, one of AD's buddies, Anthony, he's never been duck hunting before. So you got two newbies and then man, my cousin, uh, we're super close here. Uh, Kenny, we're getting to go somewhere out of town. We usually just kind of stay around here. So we're getting to go out of town somewhere and actually, you know, live it up. And because, you know, he's been duck hunting a lot longer than me, but he's never had the chance to go Arkansas. So that's cool that me and him actually get to go together. So yeah, no, that's, that's awesome. Um, and I, and I wish y'all the best of luck, uh, down there, um, you know, like, I've got to have fun love with it. And I won't come home. Hey, it's very possible, man, but, you know, speaking of these, uh, these waterfalls and, you know, these, uh, these ducks, man. So I've got a lot of buddies around my area, you know, uh, that are shooting these migra ships.

30:11I've, they've been telling me about them forever, but I can't find any around here to, you know, test out or whatever, but everybody keeps telling me that, bro, find, I don't care where you got to go, find you some migra shells and stick with them. I'm talking for those. I'm talking for fesins. I'm talking for anything. There's like these things are amazing. He's like the stacks that they come out with. I don't know how they do it. They said they're, they're just amazing. So can you, you know, talk a little bit about, you know, Michael for a little bit? Yeah, um, and, uh, before I get into it, uh, you've got some very good buddies that are leading you down the road, um, that you need to, you need to follow their lead. Um, so, um, all the scientists and, uh, Qtip and everybody at migra, man, they, they done their research. Um, and I was at NWTF two years ago and was, uh, was talking to about them

31:14and he, uh, he told me that their motto was never doubt again. Um, you know, whether you, you know, you don't have a dog and you're out, uh, getting a cripple and, uh, some geese come over and whatnot, especially with the, you know, the two four stacked, um, you know, you know, that you can rely on this shell and, um, and then, you know, now they've come out with, uh, turkey loads, uh, started out with the full TSS. I ran them last year. Man, they're hard on a, an old jilly head. I mean, just absolutely hard on them. Um, and then, so I run a, I run a hunt and preserve here in middle Tennessee and, um, and started using the, uh, the dove in the field load. And I, just like retake shotguns, I mean, everybody that has used them has had a hundred percent satisfaction guarantee.

33:15And, um, we had a, uh, chucker come up and kind of hang left on us. And he said, he, he literally said, he said, that's too far. I said shoot it. And he crouched that chucker with a, with a 20 gauge, Margaret dove load. Um, and I was like, holy crap. You know, how far was that shot? And I had to step it off myself. I was like, you know, this is, this is 60 plus easy. It was 87 yards. Wow. And when I say, when I say crunched, I didn't mean, I don't mean like winged it or one did it. I mean, it was dead before it even hit the ground. Just balled up. And I was like, let's see. Hey, it was a 20 gauge. Yeah. And he looked at me and was like, well, I know my forever, Shale now. And I was like, try to tell you that's funny, man. Yeah, because like I'm talking to some of my buddies, my buddy, you know, Dylan for

34:15one, like he's the one that got me over the retake train. Yeah. And he's like, bro, like you need to find, get you some of these micro shields. And he said, I've got some down here. And his young shop is an hour and a half from my house, but like, I go there because his family treats me like family, like it's dead. And mom treat me like they're, you know, up their son. They sell bows. I get everything from there. They're awesome people. And he was like, bro, you know, come down here and get some of these shells. Well, he ended up shooting. He's a professional archer as well. So he was gone somewhere in Alabama to shoot. By the time I got down there, I don't think he told his dad to hold these shells for him. So they're flying off the shelf, man. Yeah. So I went out and down there and I said, you know, where do my shells? He's like, what shells? I was like, you know, he was supposed to hold me some shells. And he's like, markers. That's like, he said, dude, I can't keep them in the store. He said, why order him? He said, somebody comes in and sees them.

35:16I don't care if they're 14s, 20s, 12s. He said, they're my, like crazy. He's like, I can't keep them in. And I said, well, we're working on fine stuff. He said, man, you know, Roger, my, you know, somewhere like that. And you know, and this was in the middle of the freaking dust season. They're sold out anyway. I'm like, how in the world am I going to get my hands on these to try over my feet? You know, and I'll show you a box. I did 13, how the feet are saved. Look at the ounce on one and one, one and one quarter. What? One and a quarter. Touch. Touch. And he said, when you say 86 yards, 87, 87 yards. Yeah. And, you know, it's like you can literally hold a shell up and another competitor shell. And you can see that the markers, like, go all the way to the top with the

36:19load, you know, the pellets and whatnot. And then you'll have some, some blank space with others. And, and man, that, that premier wad that they use in it for pattern density, they've, they've done, they've done the research and they have top of the line shell. Yeah. So it seems like all the people that I have talked to, the ones that I did talk to, you know, retail when I was out of the foods that, you know, were shooting like everybody down there shot back out of the retails. We all, some of the shot, there's a church or whatever. But yeah, and obviously like the Chums, they were using, you know, they were spot-off or whatever, but it all came down to the load and everybody like, dude, I'm telling you, you ain't using this load. Like you're, it's an, I know what you're doing. And I've been a Kent guy forever just because that's what, you know, we've got around here. You can find them pretty easily in there, pretty inexpensive.

37:20And I've had some good luck with them. But I'm really excited about getting my hands on some of these bike trails for this year, actually, you know, putting them through those places. So, oh, yeah. You know, right before NWTF show, me, my brother and my older son and my grandfather, we all went out to Northern skies, outfitters in Jonesboro and shot the snow geese pretty good. And, you know, a lot of people there, other clients was using the big three and a half inch shells and, um, and we shot three inch, uh, BB stack with two. And I mean, we were shooting them tall. Like, I mean tall. And the guy was like, you know, our, our guide, he said, he said, well, I know that, uh, I know that I'm calling him a little taller. And I said, let's try it and he'd call him a little taller. Boom. I mean, just fold him down.

38:20They said, I don't know when to stop on the tallness with y'all. And, um, man, shout out to Northern skies, um, you know, Matt and him, um, they, they, they, they really have it going on. Um, great guides, great guides, um, you know, they, they made, um, my nine year old son just feel like right at home, like he was guiding the whole hunt to end, uh, and whatnot. So shout out to them, um, you know, if y'all are, if y'all ever want to get on a good, uh, goose conservation hunt, or, you know, if you ever go to Canada, um, you know, early fall, um, they have a, a camp up there. Um, great, great people. So when, uh, so when does for the people who don't know, because I just learned about this too, um, for the, for the people that want to build conservation, uh, you know, for kind of, you know, for snow geese or

39:23whatever, uh, tell us a little bit about, you know, like the regulations, like what you know, no, I'm sorry. Um, like, yeah, just tell us a little bit about like, you know, conservation season, and when it starts and stuff like that. Yeah. So, um, conservation season starts February 1st, the day right after buck season ends, and it goes up until April, um, some, I think it's like April 25th or, or something. It's, it's later on in April, um, and, you know, no plugs, um, extended cues on guns, no limits. Um, you know, we were, we were out in Jones Brown, and the day we left, we literally went two miles down the road, and I guarantee you, there was a 50,000 plus bird feed, um, you know, and, and those farmers, man, they won't, they won't them birds going. Uh, they were absolutely eat up a crop, um, and whatnot. Um, and man,

40:30it's, it's just fun, you know, when, when the guide calls the shot, you know, everybody having extended cues and whatnot, you've pretty much got a case of shells flying. Just right then, you know, um, I mean, you know, 125, 250 shells going off at one, you know, big span. And it, it is adrenaline, man. It is like, it is just in your face, action. Um, you will get tired of hitting the eat collar. Uh, you'll hear it in your sleep. You'll hear snow geese calling all night, but, uh, it's, it's worth it. It is definitely worth it. Um, you know, the, the, the guy's out in Arkansas, you'll hear a lot of them call them SkyCart, um, just because I mean, they eat all the greens and whatnot. But, um, yeah, it's like, it's a blast. Yeah, it's, and especially for young kids, right? Um, you know, make sure your outfitter, um, doesn't have age limit,

41:36and, um, a really good guide. And, um, and just, just go have fun. Just shoot a bunch of shells. Yeah, we're going to, we're going to get together and take the, you know, take the keys. I mean, I would want to go. I mean, I keep hearing about, and there's a guy that's, uh, about 30 minutes from here, uh, in Hartman County, you know, like, he mounted my first, uh, mallard that up, that I've shot in ballard and, uh, stars and stripes, tags and everything's, uh, things, names of billhots, it's great guy. Um, he was telling me that his brother does conservation hearts and Missouri. So I was like, okay, you know, and I just never got the chance to go. We know, we was trying to get a bunch of guys to go. Just, our schedule didn't lie that man. And he was sending me these videos, man. I'm like, literally the sky. Yeah. Forward in this thing. And they're just out there just blast enough. And they're just falling like rain drops. Yeah, what it's like.

42:40He said, dude, there's no plugs. He said, I've got to know that we won't 16 channels. And I just live. Yeah. Why? You know, you know, those old TVs, when you would lose signal, and your, your screen would be like all, you know, fuzzy and black and, yeah, you know, we've been understands like that. And like, you got to close your eyes and, and refocus just because, you know, there's just so much commotion going on. And then you'll hear, you know, loudness. And then when the guy calls the shot, like, it's a moment of silence, then you hear guns going off. Yeah. I mean, you're, you're watching birds just fall, man. It's, you know, it's absolutely fun. So is it, is it type, is it the type of a hut where you were there's so many birds that you literally just shoot or you actually like trying to aim at these things. I would say, yeah, spray and pray. You know, I try to, I try to tell, you know, people that I know, and

43:46especially my oldest son, I'm like, you know, hey, when they're in close, you know, start picking them out one by one, one by one. And then, you know, as the, as the water gets a little further, you know, if you want to, if you want, you know, aim in the middle, you know, the birds and shells, man, we're here to have fun. And, you know, you, you're hoping one baby takes them out. Right. Yeah, that's, yeah, I'd love to go on a hunt like it. Yeah, because it seems like it's just a ball. Like, yeah, we'll, uh, we'll for sure get together. Um, you know, next conservation, um, this warmer weather down south has really got them pushing, um, you know, the migration up pretty hard, um, a guy that I know that owns a Squall Creek Hunt Club. He's, he's posting videos every day up there at Squall Creek. And I mean, they're just loading in on this refuge. Um, and so, you know, that, that kind of, that kind of gives you, you know, a little migration report, um, where

44:52your main stream is, um, of course, you're always, you're going to have some that are still in Arkansas, um, a couple of buddies in mind. I seen where they posted this past weekend. They shot them pretty good. Even shot a band. Yeah, one, um, but yeah, you know, they, everybody, you know, everybody talks about snow geese and whatnot. And, and you would think that, you know, snow geese would like it cold. Man, 55 and sunny with a south wind. Are you going to see them up there? They're, they're rolling. It's time to get back north. Yeah. Yeah. The first time I ever seen snow geese, I was a baller. And I, I do believe it was like last year, with my, what does that sound? And I was like, you know, because in Kenya, he was in the model. And we, we, if we had got a pit by, by walking by and, uh, I actually can't just notice. I'm like, what in the world is that? And it's like getting closer and closer. And he said, do this, snow geese. I said, where are they? He said, way up, way up back. Yeah. Look, and I'm like, oh,

45:57you know, and I mean, it's me, it seems like it's me, and so. And I said, why are they flat so high? He said, man, they go with their migrators. They're gone, you know, and I'm like, oh, so that's what they sound like. And he said, yeah, he said, if we had an electronic call, you know, he said, I guarantee they start coming this way. And I said, oh, that's what they do. He said, yeah, they're like trying to call their rolling. And here they come. So I took my oldest son on his first duck hunt at six years old. And, um, and it was a, it was a migrator day for snow geese and ducks. And we were saying then, and I always say, you know, they're, they're higher than Willie Nelson up there. Yeah. And, and man, he still talks about that all the time. He's like, but Eddie said, they're higher than Willie Nelson. And so, um, man, you know, those, them kids, man, they watch you. They do. They watch you. They listen, they watch you.

46:59Yeah. Um, you know, it's, it's very important to, you know, be a, be a great role model to him. Who's this man? You know, and I, you know, I see it every day, man, you know, I'm a teacher. And, uh, it's just, you know, some of these kids, man, out there, you know, you guys, you didn't have some bad seats up there. Yeah. For the most part, man, like these kids, man, a lot of, you know, that I see that I do with it every day, you know, they just come from sometimes broken house souls, broken house, um, you know, sometimes they just, they just need that one person to talk to, you know, and I, you know, I try to be that life for all the kids that come see me. He's like, man, if you ever need me for anything, you know, I mean, what? Yeah. Absolutely, man. You know, I try to tell my older son and, um, you know, everybody, I'm like, man, you never know what somebody's going to mentally or physically. You don't. Close makeup and everything, you know,

48:01can hide a whole lot. Yeah. Yeah, man, it's, I tell people, man, you know, I went to mental health, you know, spill there for a while. And, you know, I feel like especially with me, you know, we try to hide, oh, hide that deep down, you know, you know, we're not me. And if we show our emotions, like, no, yeah, yeah, stuff will kill you. Like, yes. So I mean, if you, or anybody, let's out there listening to me, I'll care who you are. Like if you were dealing with something mental health wise, find somebody to talk to. Like, absolutely. I feel like you are not a man, because, you know, you, you know, talking to somebody about this, like this stuff will literally give you a heart attack or a stroke. Mental mental health matters, man. Absolutely. Mental health matters. It does, man. And I tell people all the time, like, what broke me out of my mental health? God for one. Yes. You know, to being out in the woods. Yeah. I was just about to say

49:06the same thing was for me. You know, I had a, I had a client Monday. He, he owned his own business and, you know, we, we were joking about, we were going to play the over under game on how many phone calls he was going to get that day at work. And, and he was like, no, I'm turning on silent. And he said, you know, I, I sit there Monday through Saturday answering phones on Sunday. I didn't pay for work. He said, man, he said, I just, I needed this. And I said, I said, man, this is like a reset every day for me out here at the hunting preserve. Get out in the woods. You know, look at God's creation, look at all of God's wonders. And, you know, just reset your mind. That's right. You're, let's say it, man. And I look at it too, man. You know, you're out there, you're enjoying God's creation. You know, you're listening to special spring 30 season is the

50:11best time I feel like. Yes. Your animals, your hand, the bowhoops, your hand, the crows, your hand, your hand, the world, wake up, wake up. Yes, sir. And if you take time to make yourself, so I think of it as a drone. If you're up in a drone, you know, a drone's up in the air. And you take that drone all the way up and look now. You see all everything is God created. And then you see this little bit of spec down there. That's you. So on the whole scheme of things, you're this big in the scheme of things. But in God's eyes, you're this big. Yes. Amen. Amen. It's one of those like it's, it's mind blowing when you sit there and think about him being up there and looking down on something this big and caring that much about something

51:11like that. Yes. You know, I'm I'm strong in faith. You know, I grew up in church and and still go and you know, have my kids in church. And but one thing that I always do at the preserve before every morning hunt and before every afternoon hunt would pray. That's right. You know, and I have gotten so many compliments on that and even had a guy give his testimony as we're walking through the field of, you know, hunting fizz and and man, that that touched me that day. You know, he had, he had been, you know, a drug abuser and alcohol abuser for like 14 years. He said, man, one day I just woke up and accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior. And he said, I've been claimed ever since. And I was like, man, you know, that's that's awesome. You know,

52:18God, God always works wonders. So we have a thing in my family. It's called don't forget the family prayer. So when I was younger, like my family, we had a singing group. We had a gospel singing group called spiritualize. We used to travel everywhere, saying to all these churches or whatever. But some of my grandmother implemented this thing that, you know, when you gather in the evening, don't forget the family prayer. It means drop your head when you're about to, you know, about to eat, you pray, then you need your food. And every Christmas Thanksgiving or whatever, my, my own Ella would sing that song. And it just gets instilled in your mind. So, you know, went to college, you know, seeing a lot of the aims, you know, that tested my faith, you know, just like, you know, I know, I know you know, the story of joke, tested them with tested them with

53:21tested them with tested them. Even though the devil, you can test them all. You won't, don't touch he's mine. You know, so I've seen a lot of things and I was really, really close to almost jump a ship to another relate. And we'll talk with it off here. That's part of my, that's part of my testimony. But Jesus always has a way. God always has a way to bring you back. I don't care what road you've been now. I don't care. And I call like I don't care. If you're a comedian, I don't care what he will always bring you back. But you got to ask him to do that. He's not going to just do it. Amen, brother. You know, so the more and more that I got out there, you know, I'm getting the most I'm thinking about it. I had a cousin of mine called me and I was going down a bad path a day. He called me. He said, I mean, I just wanted to call a check on you, man. I just felt like you need just somebody to talk to. And right before he got out the floor

54:23and hung out, he told me, don't forget to family prayer. And dude, I was just like, and all my childhood memories came back. And I'm just like, what am I doing? And I just immediately drive down on these like, hey, God, I'm sorry for everything. I said, you're sending a lie to me right now in college. But my mom and daddy put me on the right path. Thank God. Yeah. I want the right path. You know, it's just you're going to get tested out there. You know, just all come down to your faith, man. You know, you know, I tell a lot of people Courtney that, you know, if you're not a believer, go read the book of Job in a Bible. Yes, sir. Put yourself in Job shoes. Yeah. You know, it's I mean, you know, they you're going to get tested. You're going to get pushed. And you know, life, life's going to beat you up. Yeah. You got you got the good lord on your side.

55:26And in your heart, he's always going to prevail. That's right, me. You know, we we always have Sunday morning breakfast and Sunday afternoon or Sunday evening dinner at my in-laws. And ever since my oldest son could read like they have a prayer on a, you know, a plaque in the in the dining room, never since he could read that he's always wanted to say the prayer. And as man is busy as life gets, you know, another reset is to sit down at the table and have dinner with your family. And say that prayer. You know, no electronics, you know, hats off, you know, just just focus on your family. That's for your family. That's it, man. Yep. Yep. We preach in there. We're going to start hollering out how to lose you pretty soon. You know,

56:32how we are on Southerners, man. We get into all. Yeah. Yeah. Hey, but you know, it's an important thing with with everything that's going on in this in this world, you know, today. It's it's important to, you know, faith family friends and then ducks. That's what I always like to say. Faith family friends, then ducks. Yeah. I mean, faith family friends, they're for me, then ducks, but yeah, you know, ducks is getting up very low. You know, it's so very pretty close to me now that, you know, you know, two months from now, well, they're here in Kentucky. I don't know how it is to see them. Our season starts April 18th. I want to say I was like April 11th is April 18th. So I mean, Turkey's are y'all out this year. So we are so in the spring you get to and the fall you get to one of the

57:36one of the, you can only kill long bears in the spring and then in the fall, you can think of a few hands. Yeah. It's a little different regulation, but I don't usually fall Turkey up. It's so hard, man. It is. It really is. But like, you know, I've talked to a lot of people that fall Turkey hunting and they'll tell you, you know, they they get lucky. They're sitting in deer stands somewhat by. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Here in Tennessee, we're allowed, we're allowed to in the spring and like you say, I think it's two in the fall. But one of those in the spring can be a jake. And but one has to be a long beard. Definitely not. No more bearded hands. You know, that used to be a big trophy around here. Bearded him. Yeah. Yeah. I heard

58:39getting all started a little bit. So I heard a row where, and I don't know if true this is, in Hendersonville, Tennessee, that they are now allowing residents to hunt deer out of their backyard. Ah, I think I don't know, but I would have to say, I would have to say that I could see that, but it had to be with the archery. Yeah. It has to be with the boat. Yeah. That's and that's how, uh, seek one. You know, that's how they got big. Yeah. They they went where no others thought they would. Uh, and bad, you know, we used to Hendersonville is just south of us and we used to fish our hickory like a lot and it seemed like every morning, you'd be going down through there to go fishing or duck hunting out there and you'd say a big deer just right and somebody's front yard and I'm like, man. Yeah. And when I say big, I mean like, be like trophy.

59:40Yeah. My buddy was telling me about that. I think he said he ridden on bow hunting.com last year, but I hadn't confirmed it, but I need to this year. But I can, I can see that. Yeah, for sure, but I can't confirm nor deny, but I can, I can see where it, it probably, it possibly could be true. Yeah. So, um, yeah, going back to taking it up, are you, what time are you, are you spot the strong guy or, you know, sitting late, running down? What would I would say it's, it's, it's a good 50, 50 mix, um, especially in the morning. Um, you know, I'm all, I'm all scout that evening, roost them, uh, get in as close as I can without disturbing them. Um, and then, you know, they're allowed to pitch off, off the other way or, or go the other way and whatnot. And,

1:00:40you know, I've got that arsenal in my backpack too. Hey, we're picking up and going. Yeah. I'm, I'm going to. Yeah. So the, the farm I grew up on, my mouth placed, you know, it's, you've got places that you can pretty much, you know, go to them, you know, hear them, hear them, hear them, God will set up somewhere in college to you, but then there's another spot, you pretty much got to see it and not move because it's, it's more open to be like you get to move into works, but you know, it must think it works. And then the other spot I heard, it's literally all open field, but wounds surrounding it. And it's like last season, I called one from about two hundred yards away off this ridge, uh, came to me, perfect on B line. And I had a shield misfunction, or a shield mouth function. And I'll never use up those shields again. I'm not going to mention

1:01:41the name of the company, but we talked at the end of the year after that was able to, you know, with no driving. It's like that. You know, but, uh, after that, I didn't see any more turkeys on that, on that land besides hands. I don't know where the guy was with, but I didn't get to harvest one last year. And, uh, with this year, uh, you know, I got cameras out and, you know, seeing some, some pretty decent birds already. Uh, and then my best friends got some out where he lives. I think he's getting some pretty decent pictures. And so, come on there that we're probably going to end up, uh, stalking next year, too, if they turn out the way I think they're going to turn out. So, yeah, a lot of people, man, you know, turn your hunting is their thing, you know, I love turning out this much the next man, but I'm not going to give up my dears and my ducks to go chase them. You know, while he thinks people like gravitate or turn you have so much.

1:02:47Man, it's the king of spring. Um, you know, there, there's a feeling when one, you know, that, that turkey just hammers, um, you know, send me 500 yards away. And then you get one close enough to start spitting and drumming. All that drummers crazy. And the hairy on the back of your neck will stand up. Yeah. Like, and that goes for male, female, you know, any of them. Um, it's, uh, it just, it's a failing really. Yeah. You know, um, and to outsmart a turkey, you know, if a turkey could smell, they'd be impossible to kill. Yeah. And I will always stand behind that. Yeah. You're right. If a turkey could smell, they would be impossible to kill. Yeah. Because they see so well. Yeah. The spail. Yeah. You ain't never killing that thing.

1:03:51No. So, and there's, there's so many ways that you can kill them. You know, like you were talking, um, you know, sitting in calling, um, whether you have a decoy out now decoy, um, or, you know, running and going in. And then, and then now you have reaping. Yeah. Um, and, you know, they're just whatever, whatever floats you boat on how you want to kill one, as, as been, you know, scientifically proven that you can do that. Yeah. How do you feel about reaping? Um, I, I mean, I'm all for it. Um, you know, on private land. Of course, it's, you know, it's illegal on public. It's illegal on public, yes. Yeah. If anybody, if anybody's going to do it on public, you know, they, they don't have much sense anyway, but, um, you know, you're crawling behind this fan and, you know, you, you're getting in that turkey's bubble.

1:04:55Um, you're getting in their comfort zone. Um, and, and you just get them fired up. And, man, you know, I've, I've had them come running. I've had them even both the fan, like, you know, fixing to try to fight it. And, um, you know, in, in this industry, um, there's a lot of negativity going around right now. Oh, there's a lot of negativity going around in the, in the hunting industry. Um, and it just, it, it's kind of disappointing really. Um, to, to see everybody just so judgmental on how everybody else does something. You know, um, the, the ones, the ones who were against reaping, um, I'm not going to say that they can't do it. Um, but you, you've got to have patience. It's not as fast as everybody thinks it is.

1:05:59Right. Um, the only time that it gets fast is if they are on a b line, absolutely running to you. Right. You've, you've done gotten way too close to their hands. Um, you know, and they're, and they're trying to establish dominance. Right. Um, but, you know, the old school way still works, man. Yes. Uh, the sitting and waiting calling. Um, you know, no decoy. Um, you know, they're just going off of where they heard that last call from. Right. And, and they're curious creatures. They were very curious. Um, you know, they're, they're looking for that hot hand. Um, but, you know, the, the negativity in the industry is just, is very disappointing to me. Um, you know, and I, and I try to, I try to spread positivity to, um, to everybody that I talked to. Um, I know it's from one instance. We were, um, we were in, in WTF, at the retail booth,

1:07:06that Friday. And it was about, uh, it was about 3 o'clock. We were, uh, crowd was starting to wind down a little bit. And, uh, I don't know if you've ever heard of them big dreams outdoors. I haven't. Um, they're big on tanking, uh, special needs kids hunting. And I think that's awesome. Yeah, that is awesome. Um, and she come up, uh, they come up to us. May and Mr. Lee Phillips was standing there. Um, everybody done, everybody done shagged out of the booth. Yeah. And, um, and, uh, this special needs lady come up and said, uh, said, I've got a story to tell you. And I was like, all right. She was like, I killed my, uh, grand slam this year. I was like, I was like, man, that's awesome. And, and the, um, I don't know if it was her mother or caretaker or what she was like, then what gun you use? And she couldn't tell us what model it was,

1:08:07like the A sort of the game lander or the, uh, uh, Mossamore or anything. All she could say was Rita. Yeah. And our caretaker told us she said that that's all she talks about is Rita. And I'm like, man, that is so awesome. Yeah. Yeah. That's sweet. That's awesome. Yeah. You know, I, um, of course, now with the preserve, you know, we get a lot of people that ask, you know, if we have age limit and, and I tell them no, um, we don't have age limit, but, you know, if I see that the kid is not being safe with the gun or can't handle the gun, you know, um, we've got to do something else about it. Right. Um, whether it's, whether it's the, uh, the parent or guardian, you know, help them hold the gun up or, or, or, you know, hand them the gun once, once the dog's pointed or whatnot. Um, because in the end, you know, safety matters.

1:09:07We're all trying to get back home and have a good time behind bird dogs and, and whatnot. And for sure, man. Yeah. Going back to, uh, I think Grand Slam, though, man, that's freaking awesome. But, uh, going back to the negativity. So I've been seeing, and I know you've seen it too, a ton of videos on TikTok and Instagram about these people talking like, bad about the end of the VTF dimension. They should talk about the real, the real hires aren't going to this, the real killers aren't going to this. I'm like, have you been to the end of the end of the TV? Yeah. Um, yeah. I walked in and seeing the first thing that I've seen when I walked in, the end of the TV was Michael Waddle. Yeah. And I don't know anybody. And you can't tell me he ain't a killer. A real killer man himself. Yeah. Um, yeah. I've, you know, man, social,

1:10:15social media can be a double edged sword. They can't be. Um, it, it really is. It's a double edged sword. Um, and the negativity toward corporations, um, toward companies, toward, you know, influencers or real hunters, um, this, that and the other, man, it just, it's, it's, it's sad. But yes, it's sad. What, you know, what makes you a real hunter or what makes you a fake hunter? Right. Like, and nobody can answer these questions. No, it's like, what makes you a real hunter? Like, for example, like, when people come up to me and, you know, if I go on like a gunshot for something, I've never been there before, you know, there's soon because I'm African-American that I've rolled up talking about. Then I get to talk about my brain, shoulder pictures, and they're like, oh, so you hunt hunt? Yeah. Like what does hunt hunt mean? Like, like, I mean, I know

1:11:21they still camouflage anywhere, you know, and, um, and whatnot, but, um, you know, and it all goes back to getting out in the woods. Um, you know, there's people, there's people that hunt that never take a camera, nothing. You know, that's just their time alone. Yep. Um, and then there's, there's people that, um, you know, take GoPro's cameras and, and they still kill the same amount, but they have it recorded for memories and, you know, um, you know, promotional deal. Yeah, keeps the eggs or, you know, most, you know, yeah, wrongly, the one of them. No, no, no. Um, you know, I, I don't know what this real killer or real hunter or fake killer and fake hunter is, but the negativity, you know, it, it, it has to stop like, it honestly does. It's,

1:12:26it's hit red. You know, are we, are we, are we negativity towards somebody's beliefs? Are we negativity towards somebody's actions? Are we negative because they done this and we haven't yet? Um, you know, it sounds, it sounds like a lot of jealousy. Yep. That's what it's like for me. I'm like, dude, I know literally because, you know, from the first time I ever stepped footed there, you know, the hunting community, yes, it can be, you know, a lot of negativity, but the hunting community has been some of the most welcoming people I've ever met in my life, you know, from turkey hunters, the deer hunters, the duck hunter man, you know, it's just, you know, getting together a bunch of, you know, hunters, people, influences, whatever you want to call in one place having a good time. Like I didn't see, I seen so many smiles from kids that, that weekend, just being with their dads, being with their mom, seeing the people that they look

1:13:29up to, you know, it was just an awesome time, man. And I just don't see how something negative can tell out of it. Yeah, you know, um, and what it, and what it boils down to is like, you know, it's just like, you know, somebody don't dress like I do or, or somebody don't, you know, call like I do or somebody doesn't buy the same thing that I do, or, you know, somebody doesn't hunt the same thing that I do. Right. Um, and then that just turns into negativity, man. You do. And, um, it takes all kinds to make the brotherhood and the sisterhood of the hunt. Um, you know, no, no two people are just alike. You know, it's like me, man, I'm a darn ground hunter. Like I don't hunt saddles, I don't hunt tree state. Yeah, it's not, I'm not bashing the people that do. Yeah, it's just my preference. And you know, I prefer a

1:14:31compound bowl over a frostbub, but I'm not bashing the crossbow people. Yeah. I'm not bashing the recurrent people, you know, it's just the way I prefer to hunt. And this is a way some people prefer, like I've heard you something this weekend, like on the internet, uh, this said, uh, it was under the 24 set of hot boys had on, uh, I think they had on sicker pants with their, their shoes and like a 24 set of shirt. And the comment was, oh, so we're making camouflage a fashion statement now instead of a hunt statement. Like who said you can't wear camouflage with a duck hunting t-shirt? Like, who cares what he has on you didn't pay for it. Like who, man, I, I tell you, shout out to them 24 seven boys, um, you know, Bernard, Darryl and Ricky and all of them. Very, yes. Um, you know, you never know what, you know, they go through all the

1:15:34clout and, um, and whatnot and racism and, and this and the other. And at the end of the day, they're just out there trying to be a, uh, you know, a trendsetter and killed ducks on public. Right. They grind on the public. They grind on the public, man. They, and that is the hardest face to grind. Absolutely, man. It is, man. It was just, I just don't understand the hate, man. Like who cares if somebody's wearing sicker pants with what I mean, it's just, like I say, it's just, it's just jealousy. That's all it is, man. Like, I've been, I'm into their dove hunt down, you know, down there and wander around with a couple of times, you know. Yeah. I mean, look, look what they did for the community down there. Yeah. And everywhere. Yeah. It's a big top down there for sure. You know, and, and, and how to, you know, how do you sit there and hate on somebody? Whether, you know, you know, they're white, black, brown, yellow, you know, I,

1:16:34you don't see color in this industry though. You're not supposed to, but I had a conversation with a guy in a academy sports one time. And I had on a camouflage t-shirt and I had some khaki pants. I think I might have had on my, some George, I don't remember what I had on that day. And he got the top of the league. He said, you hot. I said, yes, sir. He said, what are you hot? I said, pretty much whatever. And he's like, what you got in Jordan's arm and a t-shirt. I was like, yeah, by the camel t-shirt, you know, he's like, Jordan's and camouflage in October. Yeah. I was like, sir, I think where would I want to wear for one of your finest stuff? And I said, you know, I actually liked it on my booster day because I had my boots on all the time. So, giving him a card or whatever and showing, you know, it's like, I got a podcast and everything like that. And I got a brand or whatever.

1:17:38And he goes, huh? Another one of y'all. I said, what do you mean by that? His exact words. He said, I wish I would stay out of the white man's world. And when I tell you in that moment, are you serious right now? Yeah. Oh my God. And when I tell you, man, if it had not been for the Lord and hearing my dead and my ear in that moment, I don't know, I've probably been in jail. I'm just, no, wait, wait, I'll bail you out. Wait, I'll bail you out. I literally just looked at him and just smiled. And I said, sir, you have a nice day. Well, I forget my truck man. Like, I had so much rage built up to me, man. And I was just like, I can't believe he just said it to me, you know, but I know I did the right thing

1:18:42while walking away. But like that's some of the stuff that, you know, I've dealt with and I know we're not never dealt with it too. Yeah. It's just like, why do we think that one sport belongs to another race and not to everybody? Or why one race can go in a certain town, but another race can't go on. You know what I'm saying? Like, yeah, you know, race, racism is something that is taught. It's not natural. Absolutely. Racism is taught. It's not natural. It's tall. Because you could have two kids like side by side, they play forever. Nobody knows what is white. When I'm, you know, they don't know little black and let somebody tells them that. And, but I do feel in my heart, I really do like that is getting them out better simply because some of the older generation is dying off and they're not leaving that to the

1:19:45next generation, you know. Yeah. You know, I, I hope I'll be agree with you Courtney on that. You are starting to see some less and less of that, which is, which is very positive. You know, that's what we need in this industry. Because, you know, there's a lot of people that may look at me and be like, oh, he, you know, he hunts, you know, he's, he's just normal, you know. But somebody like you stepping up doing your own thing, you know, being a transsetter and, you know, all about the kids and whatnot. And they're like, hey, man, I'd go hunting with that guy. All right, you know, I want to follow that guy. Yeah. And I think you have a great thing going Courtney. You know, I was so excited when,

1:20:47you know, I got to invite to be on here with you. And, and, you know, talk about Retail and Migra and, and, you know, the negativity and positivity and good Lord above. Um, I, I, I really feel that, you know, the world needs more people like you. Well, I appreciate you, brother. And I, I feel like the world needs more of what we and you are doing now. Just sit here and talking about it. You know, you know, I came up from a different background than you did. But, you know, we're sitting here as brothers with the same passion, the same beliefs, having a conversation, you know, and, you know, like I tell everybody that's ever been on my podcast, like you have my number, you've got my Instagram, email, whatever. But I started talking and hey, we hit it off and, you know, here we are now talking about our favorite things. That's right, man. That's how I should be. And I wish more of the world would be like this, you know, because right now, you know, we're living in, you know, I feel like we're living a bit with the type of man, you know, you know, it's so much division that's, you know, people are trying to cause between, you know, whites, blacks and, you know, you know, everybody created them.

1:22:51You know, yeah. And, and, and also, you know, the biggest thing in the world right now is entitlement. Yes. You know, everybody feels that they're entitled to something. And, and that's fine. That's fine, you know, but they, they take that entitlement way too far. You know, it's, you know, I just think the good Lord above, I, I could say another day, every day. That's me, man. Any day above ground is a good day, man. Yeah. I think the Lord for it, man, but yeah. Yeah, man, before we did get down, I crazy revenue. So I got some what I call rapid fire, man. 1:25:01roast my turkeys. Uh, I love decoys. I just have a thing forward. I don't, I don't think I'm dealing enough with go outside without any decoys. Um, personally, I would have disagreed with you. Um, everybody's good enough to go out there without a, without a decoy. Um, because when, you know, without a decoy, like we talked about earlier, they're, they're curious creatures. To your, um, you know, they're out there. Those bachelor's looking for them hot hands. And if they see a decoy, um, you know, that, that doesn't move for 15 minutes on the way up, um, you know, they're like, well, yeah, we're going the other way. That's, that's fake. Um, but, you know, you, you, you put in some good calling and good call notes to them and they're, they're going to, they're going to get curious. Yeah. You're right.

1:26:01Yeah, I might try that this year, but uh, uh, uh, you said your sub gave you, uh, you know, I, I grew up basically, I've had them all, but I'm always, I'm always love the trail. But the past couple of seasons of those season and ducks season, I had a 20 out there. Uh, I'll have a 28 gauge this year. Uh, I'm probably going to take out, uh, and I like it. I'm, I'm a tight joke time guy and I'm a, I'm a new red dot guy on the shot. I knew like I'm on my rifles and some pistols, but not on, not on my shot. But, um, yeah, I'm out there. The, the no red dot on the shotguns. Um, I've, you know, I've been there where, um, a buddy of mine or somebody that, you know, I've taken Turkey hunting and they're like, they're like, hang on, I got to adjust the brightness and the, the dimness or my battery died on it,

1:27:05this, that, and other, I just like the, uh, uh, original bead on the little true glow at the end. You know, you know, I might put a red dot on my sons this year, but I think I'm just gonna let him ride with the beat, man. You know, just try it and drew, you know, you're gonna get him the new, uh, you're gonna get him the new game lander 14. Yeah. So I got, I got a black one coming and I've got a, uh, one in bottom lane, uh, coming and, uh, uh, and I bought every, we went to academy sports because that's the only one close to us as a academy. Let's, I go south to the bowling green. Um, they had about nine, nine or six boxes or nine or 10 boxes of, uh, eight and a half shot, uh, 14 and the blue, their mind arcs or whatever they're like, 11 hours of box.

1:28:06And I'll clear them out. I said, but we're gonna, we're gonna practice. You know, you're going to get to where, you know, where that, where that neck he is, you're gonna be able to hit it. Consist. Yeah. Uh, so I can't wait to Saturday. I won't let it pick it up or surprise him. So we won't get to, don't get to work. So yeah, the, um, uh, man, them, them, uh, ball pods. Yeah. I've got kids. I'm going to get one of them. I can't, like, I want them up truck. Yeah. Man, they're, they're so sweet for kids. Yeah, they are. You know, that, that 85 degree leg angle, or you can, you know, really get it down there to him. Yeah. And, um, and whatnot. And so many, you know, adjustments and swivels and, and it's, um, it's killer. It is, man. And I'm, yeah, I'm, uh, actually use mine this year. Him, kill my deer or a fly share, I should say. Well, this season, um, we just keep you so much more stable and whatever. Yeah. I'm, I get, but feel bad. So when I get shaking,

1:29:10I need something. Get the shakes on them. Yeah, I get, I get to have something stable.
